Be- cause the shape and rolling force distribution are very sensitive to strip thickness transverse distribution% variation, the iterative course is rather unstable and sometimes convergence cannot be achieved. In addition, the calculating speed of results coupling method is low, which restricts its usable range. To solve the problem, a new model cou- pling method is developed, which takes the force distribution between rolls, rolling force distribution and strip's exit transverse displacement distribution as basic unknowns, and integrates strip plastic deformation model and rolls elas- tic deformation model as a unified linear equations through their internal relation, so the iterative calculation between the strip plastic deformation model and rolls elastic deformation model can be avoided. How- ever the calculation course of model coupling method is more steady than results coupling method, and its calculating speed is about ten times as much as the maximal speed of results coupling method, which validates its practicability and reliability.展开更多

The present study constructed the 2023Cross-City Patient Mobility Network in China using one million patient mobility data records obtained from online healthcare platforms. We applied urban network analysis to uncover mobility patterns and used the coupling coordination degree model to assess healthcare supply-demand relationships before and after patient mobility. Explainable machine learning further revealed the impact of supply-demand coupling on patient mobility. The results indicated the following: Patient mobility followed administrative boundaries, although megacities serve areas beyond provincial borders; The scale of healthcare supply and demand displayed a multi-centric spatial pattern with a general decline from east to west, and these characteristics of demand distribution were further solidified by patient mobility;Cities with low supply-demand coupling and undersupply experienced patient outflows, while cities with high coupling and oversupply attracted them. In turn, patient mobility helped balance healthcare supply and demand, optimising the coupling relationship across cities. Thus, this research not only provides a methodological reference for understanding the interaction between patient mobility and healthcare systems but also offers empirical insights for public health policy.展开更多

文摘The numerical simulation of the fluid flow and the flexible rod(s)interaction is more complicated and has lower efficiency due to the high computational cost.In this paper,a semi-resolved model coupling the computational fluid dynamics and the flexible rod dynamics is proposed using a two-way domain expansion method. The gov-erning equations of the flexible rod dynamics are discretized and solved by the finite element method, and the fluid flow is simulated by the finite volume method. The interaction between fluids and solid rods is modeled by introducing body force terms into the momentum equations.Referred to the traditional semi-resolved numerical model,an anisotropic Gaussian kernel function method is proposed to specify the interactive forces between flu-ids and solid bodies for non-circle rod cross-sections.A benchmark of the flow passing around a single flexible plate with a rectangular cross-section is used to validate the algorithm.Focused on the engineering applications,a test case of a finite patch of cylinders is implemented to validate the accuracy and efficiency of the coupled model.

文摘Nonuniform track support and differential settlements are commonly observed in bridge approaches where the ballast layer can develop gaps at crosstie-ballast interfaces often referred to as a hanging crosstie condition.Hanging crossties usually yield unfavorable dynamic effects such as higher wheel loads, which negatively impact the serviceability and safety of railway operations.Hence,a better understanding of the mechanisms that cause hanging crossties and their effects on the ballast layer load-deformation characteristics is necessary.Since the ballast layer is a particulate medium, the discrete element method(DEM),which simulates ballast particle interactions individually,is ideal to explore the interparticle contact forces and ballast movements under dynamic wheel loading.Accurate representations of the dynamic loads from the train and track superstructure are needed for high-fidelity DEM modeling. This paper introduces an integrated modeling approach, which couples a single-crosstie DEM ballast model with a train–track–bridge(TTB)model using a proportional–integral–derivative control loop. The TTB–DEM model was validated with field measurements, and the coupled model calculates similar crosstie displacements as the TTB model. The TTB–DEM provided new insights into the ballast particle-scale behavior, which the TTB model alone cannot explore. The TTB–DEM coupling approach identified detrimental effects of hanging crossties on adjacent crossties, which were found to experience drastic vibrations and large ballast contact force concentrations.

文摘In the present work, the laminar plasma surface hardening method is employed to enhance the service life of metal components fabricated from 65 Mn steel. The mechanical and wear behaviors of the laminar plasma surface hardened 65 Mn steel were analyzed. The martensite transition transformation of the temperature of the laminar plasma-hardened 65 ferrite Mn steel was determined by a thermal-solid coupling model.Based on the orthogonal experimental results, the optimal hardening parameters were confirmed. The scanning velocity, quenching distance and arc current are 130 mm/min,50 mm and 120 A,respectively. The pearlites and ferrites are transformed into martensites in the hardened zone, while the ratio of martensite in the heataffected zone decreases with the increase in the hardening depth.Compared to the untreated 65Mn steel, the average hardness increases from 220 HV_(0.2)to 920 HV_(0.2)in the hardened zone and the corresponding absorbed power increases from 118.7 J to 175.5 J.At the same time, the average coefficient of friction(COF)decreases from 0.763 to 0.546,and the wear rate decreases from 5.39×10^(-6)mm^(3)/(N·m)to 2.95×10^(-6)mm^(3)/(N·m),indicating that the wear resistance of 65Mn steel could be significantly improved by using laminar surface hardening. With the same hardening parameters, the depth and width of the hardened zone predicted by the thermal-solid coupling model are 1.85 mm and 11.20 mm,respectively, which are in accordance with the experimental results;depth is 1.83 mm and width is 11.15 mm.In addition, the predicted hardness distributions of the simulation model are in accordance with the experimental results. These results indicate that the simulation model could effectively predict the microstructure characteristics of 65 Mn steel.

文摘The aging characteristics of lithium-ion battery(LIB)under fast charging is investigated based on an electrochemical-thermal-mechanical(ETM)coupling model.Firstly, the ETM coupling model is established by COMSOL Multiphysics.Subsequently,a long cycle test was conducted to explore the aging characteristics of LIB.Specifically, the effects of charging(C)rate and cycle number on battery aging are analyzed in terms of nonuniform distribution of solid electrolyte interface(SEI),SEI formation, thermal stability and stress characteristics. The results indicate that the increases in C rate and cycling led to an increase in the degree of nonuniform distribution of SEI,and thus a consequent increase in the capacity loss due to the SEI formation.Meanwhile, the increases in C rate and cycle number also led to an increase in the heat generation and a decrease in the heat dissipation rate of the battery, respectively, which result in a decrease in the thermal stability of the electrode materials. In addition, the von Mises stress of the positive electrode material is higher than that of the negative electrode material as the cycling proceeds, with the positive electrode material exhibiting tensile deformation and the negative electrode material exhibiting compressive deformation. The available lithium ion concentration of the positive electrode is lower than that of the negative electrode, proving that the tensile-type fracture occurring in the positive material under long cycling dominated the capacity loss process. The aforementioned studies are helpful for researchers to further explore the aging behavior of LIB under fast charging and take corresponding preventive measures.

文摘The arresting process of carrier-based aircraft is widely recognized as a challenging task, characterized by the highest accident rate among all carrier-based aircraft operations.Dynamic simulation plays a crucial role in assessing the intricate responses of the arresting process, favoring the design of carrier-based aircraft. An efficient and accurate rigid-flexible coupling model for analyzing the dynamic response of the arresting process is proposed.By combining the dynamic characteristics of airframe, landing gear, arresting hook and arresting gear system, the rigid-flexible coupling dynamic model is established to reflect the relative motion of the coupling parts and arresting load. The dynamic model is verified through simulations of landing gear landing drops and by comparing the arresting simulation results with corresponding data in the US military standard.Additionally, simulations of the arresting process under different off-center distance and aircraft yaw angle are conducted to obtain the dynamic response of the aircraft during the arresting process. The result indicates that the rigid-flexible coupling dynamic model proposed is effective for analyzing the arresting dynamics response of carrier-based aircraft. The axial force of the arresting cable on both sides of the hook engagement point, pitch and yaw angle of aircraft are inconsistent under yaw and off-center arresting. The analysis method and obtained results provide valuable references for assessing the dynamic responses of carrier-based aircraft during arresting process and offer valuable in-sights in the design of carrier-based aircraft.
文摘During high-speed flight, both thermal and mechani-cal loads can degrade the electrical performance of the antenna-radome system, which can subsequently affect the performance of the guidance system. This paper presents a method for evalu-ating the electrical performance of the radome when subjected to thermo-mechanical-electrical(TME)coupling.The method involves establishing a TME coupling model(TME-CM)based on the TME sharing mesh model(TME-SMM)generated by the tetrahedral mesh partitioning of the radome structure. The effects of dielectric temperature drift and structural deformation on the radome’s electrical performance are also considered.Firstly, the temperature field of the radome is obtained by tran-sient thermal analysis while the deformation field of the radome is obtained by static analysis.Subsequently, the dielectric varia-tion and structural deformation of the radome are accurately incorporated into the electrical simulation model based on the TME-SMM.The three-dimensional(3D)ray tracing method with the aperture integration technique is used to calculate the radome’s electrical performance.A representative example is provided to illustrate the superiority and necessity of the pro-posed method. This is achieved by calculating and analyzing the changes in the radome’s electrical performance over time dur-ing high-speed flight.

文摘The occurrence of top-down(TD)cracking has gradually become a prevalent issue in semi-rigid base asphalt pavements after prolonged service.A coupled simulation model integrating the finite difference method(FDM)and discrete element method(DEM)was employed to investigate the mechanical behavior of asphalt pavement containing a pre-existing TD crack. The mesoscopic parameters of the model were calibrated based on the mixture modulus and the static mechanical response on the MLS66 test road. Finally,an analysis was performed to assess how variations in TD crack depth and longitudinal length affect the distribution patterns of transverse tensile stress, vertical shear stress, and vertical compressive stress. The results indicate that the vertical propagation of TD crack significantly increases both the tensile stress value and range on the middle surface, while the longitudinal development of TD crack has minimal impact. This phenomenon may result in more severe fatigue failure on the middle surface. With the vertical and longitudinal development of TD crack, the vertical shear stress and compressive stress show obvious"two-stage"characteristics.When the crack's vertical length reaches 40 mm,there is a sharp increase in stress on the upper surface. As the crack continues to propagate vertically, the growth of stress on the upper surface becomes negligible, while the stress in the middle and lower layers increased significantly.Conversely, for longitudinal development of TD crack, any changes in stress are insignificant when their length is less than 180 mm;however,as they continue to develop longitudinally beyond this threshold, there is a sharp increase in stress levels. These findings hold great significance for understanding pavement structure deterioration and maintenance behavior associated with TD crack.

文摘The utilization of coalbed methane(CBM)cannot only alleviate the energy crisis, but also reduce greenhouse gas emissions.Gas injection is an effective method to enhance CBM recovery.Compared to single-gas injection, the injection of CO_(2)/N_(2) mixtures can balance the sharp decline in permeability caused by pure CO_(2) and the premature breakthrough by pure N_(2).In this study,a more comprehensive thermo-hydro-mechanical(THM)coupled mathematical model was developed, incorporating processes such as ternary gas non-isothermal adsorption, gas dissolution in water,gas-water two-phase flow, energy exchange, and coal deformation. After experimental validation, the model was applied to simulate the entire process of gas mixtures for enhanced CBM recovery(GM-ECBM).Results indicate that the permeability near the production well(Pw)initially decreases due to increased effective stress, then increases as a result of CH_(4) desorption.Near the injection well(Iw),the permeability first increases due to reduced effective stress and later stabilizes under the combined effects of effective stress and CO_(2)/N_(2) adsorption. The initial CH_(4) pressure and coal seam permeability have the most significant impact on CH_(4) production, while the coal seam permeability and temperature significantly affect CO_(2)/N_(2) injection. As the coal seam permeability increases, the optimal CO_(2)/N_(2) ratio also increases accordingly. These findings provide important theoretical guidance for improving GM-ECBM efficiency in coal seams with varying permeabilities.

文摘The El Niño-Southern Oscillation(ENSO)is a naturally recurring interannual climate fluctuation that affects the global climate system. The advent of deep learning-based approaches has led to transformative changes in ENSO forecasts, resulting in significant progress. Most deep learning-based ENSO prediction models which primarily rely solely on reanalysis data may lead to challenges in intensity underestimation in long-term forecasts, reducing the forecasting skills. To this end,we propose a deep residual-coupled model prediction(Res-CMP)model,which integrates historical reanalysis data and coupled model forecast data for multiyear ENSO prediction. The Res-CMP model is designed as a lightweight model that leverages only short-term reanalysis data and nudging assimilation prediction results of the Community Earth System Model(CESM)for effective prediction of the Niño 3.4 index. We also developed a transfer learning strategy for this model to overcome the limitations of inadequate forecast data. After determining the optimal configuration, which included selecting a suitable transfer learning rate during training, along with input variables and CESM forecast lengths,Res-CMP demonstrated a high correlation ability for 19-month lead time predictions(correlation coefficients exceeding 0.5).The Res-CMP model also alleviated the spring predictability barrier(SPB).When validated against actual ENSO events,Res-CMP successfully captured the temporal evolution of the Niño 3.4 index during La Niña events(1998/99 and 2020/21)and El Niño events(2009/10 and 2015/16).Our proposed model has the potential to further enhance ENSO prediction performance by using coupled models to assist deep learning methods.

文摘The largely bending bilayer electrode model battery has been widely used to measure the mechanical properties of composite electrode materials. The assumption used in the method that lithium is uniformly distributed in the active layer lacks quantitative evaluation, and the uniformity of concentration distribution is crucial for accurate in-situ measurements of concentration-related material properties and stress in bilayer electrodes. Therefore, this paper proposes a mechanical-electrochemical coupled model to study the lithium concentration distribution in the active layer during lithiation. This model includes lithium concentration diffusion and active layer deformation.By comparing experimental and simulated curvature evolution of the active layer during lithiation and delithiation, the reliability of this simulation model is verified. We then derive the precise concentration distribution inside the active layer and suggest using relative error to quantitatively evaluate the uniformity of lithium concentration in the active layer. Results show that a low relative error in lithium concentration can be achieved in the middle region of the active layer.Additionally, the effects of different rates and geometric parameters on the lithium concentration distribution in the active layer are discussed. Results indicate that reduced rates, thinner active layers, shorter active layer lengths, and increased spacing between the working and counter electrodes can lead to a more uniform distribution of lithium concentration in the active layer. These insights help improve experimental methods and equipment, promoting uniform distribution of lithium in the active layer and enhancing measurement accuracy.

文摘The mechanical properties of stratified rocks are closely related not only to the stress state but also to the inherent structural anisotropy, which can be represented by the occurrence of bedding planes. This research aims to enhance the understanding of the anisotropic deformation and failure behaviors of stratified rocks by proposing a novel coupled elastoplastic-damage constitutive model. In this constitutive model,a scalar anisotropic parameter(stress-structure mixed invariant)based on the Pietruszczak–Mroz anisotropic theory is incorporated into a nonlinear yield surface, which accounts for the combined effects of the stress state and bedding structure on the anisotropic strength behaviors of stratified rocks.A damage-driven function governs the expansion and contraction of the anisotropic yield surface in the pre-peak strain hardening and post-peak strain-softening regions. The strength and deformation characteristics under multiaxial stress conditions are represented by incorporating the Lode's angle into the yield and plastic potential functions.Numerical simulations are conducted to facilitate a comparison with the conventional and true triaxial compression test data for several stratified rocks. The simulation results demonstrate good agreement with the test data, validating the effectiveness of the proposed constitutive model. This study provides theoretical and technical support for addressing engineering challenges involving stratified rocks.

文摘This paper provides a comparative analysis of the performance of a high-resolution regional ocean-atmosphere coupled model in predicting tropical cyclone(TC)gales over the northern South China Sea.The atmosphere and ocean components of the coupled system are represented by the China Meteorological Administration’s Tropical Regional Atmosphere Model for the South China Sea(CMA-TRAMS)and the LASG/IAP Climate system Ocean Model(LICOM),respectively. The Ocean Atmosphere Sea Ice Soil VersionH 3(OASIS3)software has been utilized for the exchange of momentum, heat, and freshwater fluxes between these two components. An assessment of the coupled model’s three-day predictions for five TCs’gales was conducted.Preliminary findings indicate that the predicted TC tracks show less sensitivity to oceanic influences than the predicted TC intensities.Significant improvement in predicting the surface TC gales has been achieved through coupling the ocean model. This improvement is attributed to the impact of the warmer ocean’s effect on TC intensification, counteracting the cooling effect of the cold wake.In summary, coupling has enhanced the model’s predictive capabilities for TC gales.A detailed assessment of the coupled model’s performance in predicting other tropical weather phenomena is forthcoming.

文摘The complex geometrical features of mechanical components significantly influence contact interactions and system dynamics. However, directly modeling contact forces on surfaces with intricate geometries presents considerable challenges. This study focuses on the helically twisted wire rope-sheave contact and proposes a contact force model that incorporates complex geometric features through a parameter identification approach. The model's impact on contact forces and system dynamics is thoroughly investigated.Leveraging a point contact model and an elliptic integral approximation,a loss function is formulated using the finite element(FE)contact model results as the reference data.Geometric parameters are subsequently determined by optimizing this loss function via a genetic algorithm(GA).The findings reveal that the contact stiffness increases with the wire rope pitch length, the radius of principal curvature, and the elliptic eccentricity of the contact zone. The proposed contact force model is integrated into a rigid-flexible coupled dynamics model, developed by the absolute node coordinate formulation,to examine the effects of contact geometry on system dynamics. The results demonstrate that the variations in wire rope geometry alter the contact stiffness, which in turn affects dynamic rope tension through frictional energy dissipation. The enhanced model's predictions exhibit superior alignment with the experimental data, thereby validating the methodology. This approach provides new insights for deducing the contact geometry from kinetic parameters and monitoring the performance degradation of mechanical components.

文摘Numerical models are crucial for quantifying the ocean-atmosphere interactions associated with the El Niño-Southern Oscillation(ENSO)phenomenon in the tropical Pacific.Current coupled models often exhibit significant biases and inter-model differences in simulating ENSO,underscoring the need for alternative modeling approaches. The Regional Ocean Modeling System(ROMS)is a sophisticated ocean model widely used for regional studies and has been coupled with various atmospheric models. However, its application in simulating ENSO processes on a basin scale in the tropical Pacific has not been explored. For the first time, this study presents the development of a basin-scale hybrid coupled model(HCM)for the tropical Pacific, integrating ROMS with a statistical atmospheric model that captures the interannual relationships between sea surface temperature(SST)and wind stress anomalies. The HCM is evaluated for its capability to simulate the annual mean, seasonal, and interannual variations of the oceanic state in the tropical Pacific. Results demonstrate that the model effectively reproduces the ENSO cycle, with a dominant oscillation period of approximately two years. The ROMS-based HCM developed here offers an efficient and robust tool for investigating climate variability in the tropical Pacific.

文摘The uneven distribution of medical resources has led to increasingly frequent patient mobility;however, the interaction between this phenomenon and the healthcare supply-demand relationship remains underexplored. Thus, this research not only provides a methodological reference for understanding the interaction between patient mobility and healthcare systems but also offers empirical insights for public health policy.
