In this study, an evaluation index s...An effective evaluation system can provide specific and practical suggestions to the deep groundwater management. But such kind of evaluation system has not been proposed in China. In this study, an evaluation index system is specifically developed to evaluate deep groundwater management efficiency. It is composed of three first-level indicators(law enforcement capability, management ability, and management effectiveness) and eleven second-level indicators. The second-level indicators include seven mandatory indicators and four optional indicators. Piecewise linear function is used to normalize the quantitative indicators, and expert scoring method and questionnaire survey method are used to normalize the qualitative indicators. Then a comprehensive indicator weighting evaluation method is used to evaluate the first-level indicators and the target topic. A case study is carried out to evaluate deep groundwater management efficiency in Tianjin City. According to the evaluation score in each period, the management efficiency of every district in Tianjin City gradually improved. The overall evaluation score in the early deep groundwater extraction period is 0.12. After a series of deep groundwater protection efforts, this score reached to 0.61 in 2007, and met the regulation criteria. The evaluation results also showed that the further groundwater management efforts in Tianjin City should be focused on building a dynamic database to collect comprehensive deep well-log data; and on a reasonable design and distribution of the groundwater monitoring network. It demonstrated that the index system is suitable to locate the deficiencies of current groundwater management systems and to guide further improvements. MethodsThe questionnaire consisting of prevalence, awareness rate, management rate, behavior correct rate, control rate, and medicine obey was used to survey the chronic disease condition in 2009. A total of 809 736 residents were randomly selected from Shanghai and Guangdong, China. ResultsThe hypertension prevalence was 17.81%. From sex analysis, the female has higher rate than male in hypertension prevalence, understand rate, management rate, behavior correct rate, control rate, and medicine obey rate. From age analysis, the prevalence, understand rate, management rate, control rate, and medicine obey were increasing along with the age, but behavior correct rate was not in this condition. The diabetes prevalence was 6.92%. To compare with Shanghai and Guangzhou in 5 aspects, the prevalence of chronic diseases was alike. Except lower behavior correct rate in Shanghai, management rate, behavior correct rate, control rate, and medicine obey rate were higher in Shanghai. ConclusionThe government must take main principle in chronic disease control. Base construction of community health management and increase management level of chronic diseases should be enhanced and practitioner's knowledge of chronic disease management should also be enhanced.展开更多

While efforts to identify and limit point source inputs of P to surface waters h...The accelerated eutrophication of freshwaters and to a lesser extent some coastal waters is primarily driven by phosphorus (P) inputs. While efforts to identify and limit point source inputs of P to surface waters have seen some success, nonpoint sources remain difficult to identify, target, and remediate. As further improvements in wastewater treatment technologies becomes increasingly costly, attention has focused more on nonpoint source reduction, particularly the role of agriculture. This attention was heightened over the last 10 to 20 years by a number of highly visible cases of nutrient-related water quality degradation; including the Lake Taihu, Baltic Sea, Chesapeake Bay, and Gulf of Mexico. Thus, there has been a shift to targeted management of critical sources of P loss. In both the U.S. and China, there has been an intensification of agricultural production systems in certain areas concentrate large amounts of nutrients in excess of local crop and forage needs, which has increased the potential for P loss from these areas. To address this, innovative technologies are emerging that recycle water P back to land as fertilizer. For example, in the watershed of Lake Taihu, China one of the largest surface fresh waters for drinking water supply in China, local governments have encouraged innovation and various technical trials to harvest harmful algal blooms and use them for bio-gas, agricultural fertilizers, and biofuel production. In any country, however, the economics of remediation will remain a key limitation to substantial changes in agricultural production.展开更多
With the challenges brought by the expansion of network scale,as well as the diversity of the equipments and the complexity of network protocols,many self-configurable systems have been proposed combining formal speci...With the challenges brought by the expansion of network scale,as well as the diversity of the equipments and the complexity of network protocols,many self-configurable systems have been proposed combining formal specification and model finding techniques.In this paper,we pay more attention to formal specifications of network information,i.e.,exploring principles and algorithm to map network information(topology,devices and status,etc.) to Alloy specifications.We first model network information in relational form,which is easy to realize because of the structured feature of network information in nature.Then we map the relational data to Alloy specifications according to our novel data mapping principles and algorithm.Based on the transition of relational data,it is possible to automatically map network information to Alloy specifications.We evaluate our data mapping principles and algorithm by applying them to a practical application scenario.The results illustrate that we can find a model for the task within a tolerant time interval,which implies that our novel approach can convert relational data to Alloy specifications correctly and efficiently.展开更多

Various important issues in PEM fuel cell modeling and simulation are examined in detail, including fluid flow and species transport, electron and proton transport, heat transfer and thermal management, liquid water transport and water management, transient response behaviors, and cold-start processes. Is the healthy business environment a fiction or a real opportunity? How far-reaching are the roots of the future natural processes of changes? How to work with the current global economic models? Can the current European integration process be considered as natural? Is a weak state a new opportunity for a future strong economy? What is the historical essence of the liberal thought? Why the current economic models are not permanent, why are they not sustainable, and why are they not developing for the basic quantum, which is the man as an individual? Can also the basic quantum be integration units as family, society, company, municipality, region, country, or EU, etc.? Qualified answers to the questions can be seen in a theoretical context of the General Theory of the Sustainable Development (GTSD), too. Theoretical trinity of GTSD is based on three theoretical pillars: GPT (Gravitation Polarity Theory), QET (Quantum Economy Theory), and BIT (Big Integration Theory). Disaster-resilient dams require accurate crack detection,but machine learning methods cannot capture dam structural reaction temporal patterns and dependencies.This research uses deep learning,convolutional neural net...Disaster-resilient dams require accurate crack detection,but machine learning methods cannot capture dam structural reaction temporal patterns and dependencies.This research uses deep learning,convolutional neural networks,and transfer learning to improve dam crack detection.Twelve deep-learning models are trained on 192 crack images.This research aims to provide up-to-date detecting techniques to solve dam crack problems.The finding shows that the EfficientNetB0 model performed better than others in classifying borehole concrete crack surface tiles and normal(undamaged)surface tiles with 91%accuracy.The study’s pre-trained designs help to identify and to determine the specific locations of cracks.展开更多

This paper describes a managed lane experience on a motorway weaving section in France - hard shoulder running operation in rush hours. The paper is focused on travel time reliability indicators and their use for reliability assessment. It provides some discussions about the advantages and drawbacks of reliability indicators under different traffic conditions. It particularly shows the difference between using buffer times and buffer indexes.
