Real-time seam tracking can improve welding quality and enhance welding efficiency during the welding process in automobile manufacturing.However,the teaching-playing welding process,an off-line seam tracking method,is still dominant in automobile industry,which is less flexible when welding objects or situation change.A novel real-time algorithm consisting of seam detection and generation is proposed to track seam.Using captured 3D points,space vectors were created between two adjacent points along each laser line and then a vector angle based algorithm was developed to detect target points on the seam.Least square method was used to fit target points to a welding trajectory for seam tracking.Furthermore,the real-time seam tracking process was simulated in MATLAB/Simulink.The trend of joint angles vs.time was logged and a comparison between the off-line and the proposed seam tracking algorithm was conducted.Results show that the proposed real-time seam tracking algorithm can work in a real-time scenario and have high accuracy in welding point positioning. 展开更多

In this paper, we explore the technology of tracking a group of targets with correlated motions in a wireless sensor network. Since a group of targets moves collectively and is restricted within a limited region, it is not worth consuming scarce resources of sensors in computing the trajectory of each single target. Hence, in this paper, the problem is modeled as tracking a geographical continuous region covered by all targets. A tracking algorithm is proposed to estimate the region covered by the target group in each sampling period. Based on the locations of sensors and the azimuthal angle of arrival (AOA) information, the estimated region covering all the group members is obtained. Algorithm analysis provides the fundamental limits to the accuracy of localizing a target group. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to the existing hull algorithm due to the reduction in estimation error, which is between 10% and 40% of the hull algorithm, with a similar density of sensors. And when the density of sensors increases, the localization accuracy of the proposed algorithm improves dramatically. 展开更多

To track human across non-overlapping cameras in depression angles for applications such as multi-airplane visual human tracking and urban multi-camera surveillance,an adaptive human tracking method is proposed,focusing on both feature representation and human tracking mechanism.Feature representation describes individual by using both improved local appearance descriptors and statistical geometric parameters.The improved feature descriptors can be extracted quickly and make the human feature more discriminative.Adaptive human tracking mechanism is based on feature representation and it arranges the human image blobs in field of view into matrix.Primary appearance models are created to include the maximum inter-camera appearance information captured from different visual angles.The persons appeared in camera are first filtered by statistical geometric parameters.Then the one among the filtered persons who has the maximum matching scale with the primary models is determined to be the target person.Subsequently,the image blobs of the target person are used to update and generate new primary appearance models for the next camera,thus being robust to visual angle changes.Experimental results prove the excellence of the feature representation and show the good generalization capability of tracking mechanism as well as its robustness to condition variables. 展开更多

In this paper,we investigate the problem of angle of arrival(AOA)tracking for the largescale array in terahertz(THz)communication,which has a large size and a narrow beam,highly demanding an accurate angle estimation.On the one hand,the system usually adopts a hybrid structure with limited radio-frequency(RF)chains,which increases the difficulty of angle estimation;on the other hand,the rapid mobility of users also brings new challenges to angle estimation.To address the above challenges,a two-stage tracking framework is proposed in this paper,which employs the random phase matrix and orthogonal long pilots in the first stage to reduce the complicated multi-user estimation to multiple single-user estimations,followed by using both wide and narrow beams in the second stage to serve high-speed and low-speed users.Furthermore,a generalized-approximated-message-passing(GAMP)method is proposed for facilitating a low-accuracy estimation of the angles,followed by adopting a modified expectation-maximization(EM)algorithm based phase estimation to unbiased estimate the instantaneous angle with the help of high-gain characteristics of the beams.The proposed structure can not only simplify the estimation complexity,but also improve the estimation accuracy due to its capability of transferring the non-linear problem of angle observation into a linear gaussian model.In addition,the Kalman tracking framework is employed for performing a continuous angle tracking.Numerical results show that the angle estimation based on the random phase matrix in the initial stage can obtain a high enough estimation accuracy,while the GAMP algorithm implemented in the second stage can quickly capture the angle range under the Rayleigh limit.The performance of the proposed EM-based tracking method is shown to outperform the traditional extended Kalman filter(EKF)method. 展开更多

For the automatic tracking of unknown moving targets on the ground,most of the commonly used methods involve circling above the target.With such a tracking mode,there is a moving laser spot on the target,which will bring trouble for cooperative manned helicopters.In this paper,we propose a new way of tracking,where an unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) circles on one side of the tracked target.A circular path algorithm is developed for monitoring the relative position between the UAV and the target considering the real-time range and the bearing angle.This can determine the center of the new circular path if the predicted range between the UAV and the target does not meet the monitoring requirements.A transition path algorithm is presented for planning the transition path between circular paths that constrain the turning radius of the UAV.The transition path algorithm can generate waypoints that meet the flight ability.In this paper,we analyze the entire method and detail the scope of applications.We formulate an observation angle as an evaluation index.A series of simulations and evaluation index comparisons verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms. 展开更多

In view of the low performance of adaptive asymmetric joint diagonalization(AAJD), especially its failure in tracking high maneuvering targets, an adaptive asymmetric joint diagonalization with deflation(AAJDd) algorithm is proposed. The AAJDd algorithm improves performance by estimating the direction of departure(DOD) and direction of arrival(DOA) directly, avoiding the reuse of the previous moment information in the AAJD algorithm.On this basis, the idea of sequential estimation of the principal component is introduced to turn the matrix operation into a constant operation, reducing the amount of computation and speeding up the convergence. Meanwhile, the eigenvalue is obtained, which can be used to estimate the number of targets. Then, the estimation of signal parameters via rotational invariance technique(ESPRIT) algorithm is improved to realize the automatic matching and association of DOD and DOA. The simulation results show that the AAJDd algorithm has higher tracking performance than the AAJD algorithm, especially when the high maneuvering target is tracked. The attitude tracking operations of an on-orbit spacecraft with degraded performance exhibited by potential actuator uncertainties(including failures and misalignments) can be extraordinarily challenging. Thus, the control law development for the attitude tracking task of spacecraft subject to actuator(namely reaction wheel) uncertainties is addressed in this paper. More specially, the attitude dynamics model of the spacecraft is firstly established under actuator failures and misalignment(without a small angle approximation operation). Then, a new non-singular sliding manifold with fixed time convergence and anti-unwinding properties is proposed, and an adaptive sliding mode control(SMC) strategy is introduced to handle actuator uncertainties, model uncertainties and external disturbances simultaneously. Among this, an explicit misalignment angles range that could be treated herein is offered. Lyapunov-based stability analyses are employed to verify that the reaching phase of the sliding manifold is completed in finite time, and the attitude tracking errors are ensured to converge to a small region of the closest equilibrium point in fixed time once the sliding manifold enters the reaching phase. Finally, the beneficial features of the designed controller are manifested via detailed numerical simulation tests. 展开更多

The development of artificial intelligence technology has promoted the rapid improvement of human-computer interaction. This system uses the Kinect visual image sensor to identify human bone data and complete the recognition of the operator’s movements. Through the filtering process of real-time data by the host computer platform with computer software as the core, the algorithm is programmed to realize the conversion from data to control signals. The system transmits the signal to the lower computer platform with Arduino as the core through the transmission mode of the serial communication, thereby completing the control of the steering gear. In order to verify the feasibility of the theory, the team built a 4-DOF robotic arm control system and completed software development. It can display other functions such as the current bone angle and motion status in real time on the computer operation interface. The experimental data shows that the Kinect-based motion recognition method can effectively complete the tracking of the expected motion and complete the grasping and transfer of the specified objects, which has extremely high operability. 展开更多

In the signal processing for metrewave radar, the reflection paths of target echoes can cause severe error in the elevation estimation for the low-angle target tracking. The exact angles of the reflection paths are unknown beforehand, and therefore, the reflection paths can not be suppressed easily. Therefore, in this article, an improved reflection paths suppression approach is presented. A block matrix aggregate is constructed based on the possible angles of the reflection paths. Combined with the beamforming-like processing, a generalized maximum likelihood estimation is derived to optimize the estimation. Moreover, the noise reduction method based on the Toeplitz covariance matrix is used for better performance. This approach is applied to the real data collected by the low-angle tracking radar with 8-channel vertical array. The experiment results show that the reflection effects are reduced and the accuracy of the elevation estimate is improved. 展开更多

This paper focuses on the development of an optimized photovoltaic tracking system involving low-cost, relative simple mechanisms, with linear actuators able to insure strokes comparable with those resulted when using gear rotary actuators. Starting with a rhombus linkage, with a linear actuator on the diagonal used for the elevation motion till 90°, a new performance solution is generated. This new linkage allows large angular strokes by using an asymmetric rhombus and an eccentrically positioned linear actuator. The paper can be divided in three main parts. Firstly the kinematical modeling of the new linkage is addressed, which permits the establishing of the linkage dimensions according to two adjustable parameters (k2, k5). Using the resulted correlations, in the second part the linkage synthesis algorithm is developed; the steps followed in this algorithm are presented in a numerical application considering a tracked PV platform, where the azimuthal vertical movement is obtained with the new proposed rhomboidal linkage. In the last part of the paper an analysis is done with the aim of determining the PV platform tracking efficiency (which represents the ratio between the received and the available beam solar energy) using the new linkage, in the meteorological conditions of Brasov, Romania implementation site. 展开更多

Two antenna arrays are settled at the fixed station (FS) to receive the UWB signal from mobile terminal (MT), one FS is enough for the proposed scheme to track the MT. The UWB multipath detection algorithm for time difference of arrival (TDOA) estimation is presented and TDOA is thus adopted to estimate angle of arrival (AOA), avoiding the synchronization and complicated beamforming for AOA. The impacts of localization errors, concluding multipath and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) errors are simulated for the proposed track scheme. It is demonstrated that the simulation curve can match the real target moving, and the feasibility of the proposed scheme is proved. 展开更多

A space laser communication acquisition,pointing and tracking(APT)system based on the beacon laser is designed without prior information.And then,a new target scanning method and a pointing and tracking algorithm are proposed.The target scanning mode is the round-trip triangular wave scanning,and it means that scanning track of the PAN-TILT platform follows the triangular wave repeatedly.For the pointing and tracking algorithm,the beacon laser is used as the auxiliary aiming light source.The position of the beacon laser in the viewfield of the complementary metal oxide semiconductor(CMOS)camera is calculated by the centroid algorithm.In order to realize the target tracking,the joint control method of the angle control and the angular velocity control is used.The simulation and experimental results show that the APT system can achieve full coverage scanning in the scanning area and capture the target in one scanning cycle successfully.After capturing the PAN-TILT platform,the pointing and tracking algorithm can track the PAN-TILT platform quickly and accurately,and the tracking accuracy is up to 0.22 mrad. 展开更多

Since flat belts are commonly used for conveying and transmission purposes, tracking systems have been well developed, but the ultimate tracking behaviour of the belt can be greatly enhanced by taking special care in the creation of an adequate tracking mechanism. To obtain long-life operation and full value from the equipment, the correct tracking technique plays an important role. This paper deals with two tracking techniques: The skewed and the angled pulley axis. Numerical simulation results are compared with both measurements and an analytical approach. The advantages of numerical simulation compared to experimental tests are ease, convenience and the absence of any safety risk. Compared to analytical approaches the simulation is used for systems for which simple closed form analytic solutions are not possible. 展开更多

In the field of antenna engineering parameter calibration for indoor communication base stations,traditional methods suffer from issues such as low efficiency,poor accuracy,and limited applicability to indoor scenarios.To address these problems,a high-precision and high-efficiency indoor base station parameter calibration method based on laser measurement is proposed.We use a high-precision laser tracker to measure and determine the coordinate system transformation relationship,and further obtain the coordinates and attitude of the base station.In addition,we propose a simple calibration method based on point cloud fitting for specific scenes.Simulation results show that using common commercial laser trackers,we can achieve a coordinate correction accuracy of 1 cm and an angle correction accuracy of 0.25°,which is sufficient to meet the needs of wireless positioning. 展开更多

In this paper, we calculated the wheel-rail contact points at typical sections and obtained the longitudinal variation of the wheel-rail geometry relationship with the trace line method. The profile of the key rail sections was matched by cubic spline curve, and the shape interpolation was realized in non-controlling sections. The results show that the roll angles at each typical section increases gradually with the enlargement of track alignment irregularity. When the flange contact occurs, the roll angle increases dramatically. Proper track alignment irregularity towards the switch rail improves the structure irregularity of the turnout. 展开更多

To solve the problem of multi-turning attitudes,unknown ground parameters and complex skidsteering control for serpentine tracked robots(STR),a fuzzy control method based on the estimation of track curvature and side slip angles is proposed.Based on the track-ground interaction,mathematical models are established for stable turning in the way of recursive homogeneous transformation.The navigation parameters such as rack curvature and side slip angles have approximately linear relationship with the yaw angles of articulate joints.Then attitude models in turning control are studied and summarized.Transforming strategies of attitude models are optimized.Based on the strategies,an adjustable fuzzy controller is designed.In the controller,an estimator is set to solve the problem of unknown and variable universe.The estimator predicts the track curvature by metabolic linear least squares estimate.Experiments have verified the feasibility and validity of the controller. 展开更多
