Locating an earthquakes focal depth is always a key project in seismology. Precise focal depth is of critical importance for evaluating seismic hazards, deciphering dynamic mechanisms of earthquake generating,estima...Locating an earthquakes focal depth is always a key project in seismology. Precise focal depth is of critical importance for evaluating seismic hazards, deciphering dynamic mechanisms of earthquake generating,estimating aftershock evolutions and risk,as well as monitoring nuclear tests. However,how we determine an accurate focal depth is always a challenge in seismological studies. Aiming to solve these problems, we analyzed and summarized the present status and the future development of earthquake focal depth locating. In this paper we first reviewed the present status of focal depth locating in the world,and summarized the frequently-used relocating methods and ideas at present,and introduced two types of focal depth relocating ideas: arrival time relocating and waveform modeling methods. For these ideas,we systematically described the S-P and the Pn-Pg methods that belong to arrival time method,and polarization focal depth locating and amplitude focal depth locating that belongs to waveform modeling,and further analyzed the advantages and limitations of these methods. Since the depth phase methods are highly sensitive to focal depth,and are relatively free from the uncertainties of crustal models,we mainly reviewed the depth phases of s Pm P,s PL,s Pn,and s Sn,and quantitatively evaluated their availabilities and characteristics. Second,we also discussed the effects of crustal velocity models on the reliability of focal depth locating,and reviewed the advancements of seismic tomography techniques over recent years. Finally,based on the present status of the progress on the focal depth locating,and studies of seismic velocity structures,we proposed an idea of combining multiple datasets and relocating methods,jointly utilizing seismologic and geodetic techniques to relocate focal depth,which should be the major research field in investigating focal depth and source parameters in the near future.展开更多

To solve this problem, a novel and effective method based on monocular vision is presented in this paper. Firstly, by employing computer vision with red-ring-shape feature, a drogue detection and recognition algorithm is proposed to guarantee safety and ensure the robustness to the drogue diversity and the changes in environmental condi- tions, without using a set of infrared light emitting diodes (LEDs) on the parachute part of the dro- gue. Secondly, considering camera lens distortion, a monocular vision measurement algorithm for drogue 3D locating is designed to ensure the accuracy and real-time performance of the system, with the drogue attitude provided. Finally, experiments are conducted to demonstrate the effective- ness of the proposed method. Experimental results show the performances of the entire system in contrast with other methods, which validates that the proposed method can recognize and locate the drogue three dimensionally, rapidly and precisely.展开更多

An obvious disadvantage with this approach is that locating will fail when the mark cannot be seen. The use of multiple marks can solve this problem. However, the extra process to design and identify different marks will significantly increase system complexity. In this paper, a novel vision-based locating method is proposed by using marks with feature points arranged in a radial shape. The feature points of the marks consist of inner points and outer points. The positions of the inner points are the same in all marks, while the positions of the outer points are different in different marks. Unlike traditional camera locating methods (the PnP methods), the proposed method can calculate the camera location and the positions of the outer points simultaneously. Then the calculation results of the positions of the outer points are used to identify the mark. This method can make navigation with multiple marks more efficient. Simulations and real world experiments are carried out, and their results show that the proposed method is fast, accurate and robust to noise.展开更多

However, its location accuracy is not high, especially for focal depth because the velocity model used for the conventional intersection method is based on homogeneous or laterally homogeneous media, which is too simple. In order to improve the accuracy, we have modified the existing intersection method. In the modified approach, the earthquake loci are not assumed to be circular or hyperbolic and calculation accuracy is improved using a minimum traveltime tree algorithm for tracing rays. The numerical model shows that the modified method can locate earthquakes in complex velocity models.展开更多
Radio-frequency(RF)breakdown analysis and location are critical for successful development of high-gradient traveling-wave(TW)accelerators,especially those expected to generate high-intensity,high-power beams.Compared...Radio-frequency(RF)breakdown analysis and location are critical for successful development of high-gradient traveling-wave(TW)accelerators,especially those expected to generate high-intensity,high-power beams.Compared with commonly used schemes involving dedicated devices or complicated techniques,a convenient approach for breakdown locating based on transmission line(TL)theory offers advantages in the typical constant-gradient TW-accelerating structure.To deliver such an approach,an equivalent TL model has been constructed to equate the TW-accelerating structure based on the fun-damental theory of the TL transient response in the time domain.An equivalence relationship between the TW-accelerating structure and the TL model has been established via analytical derivations associated with grid charts and verified by TL circuit simulations.Furthermore,to validate the proposed fault-locating method in practical applications,an elaborate analysis via such a method has been conducted for the recoverable RF-breakdown phenomena observed at an existing prototype of a TW-accelerating-structure-based beam injector constructed at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology.In addition,further considerations and discussion for extending the applications of the proposed method have been given.This breakdown-locating approach involving the transient response in the framework of TL theory can be a conceivable supple-ment to existing methods,facilitating solution to construction problems at an affordable cost.展开更多
Fixture locating layout has a direct and influential impact on aeronautical thin-walled component(ATWC)manufacturing quality.The purpose is to develop a topological optimization method for ATWC fixture locating layout...Fixture locating layout has a direct and influential impact on aeronautical thin-walled component(ATWC)manufacturing quality.The purpose is to develop a topological optimization method for ATWC fixture locating layout to minimize the manufacturing deformation.Firstly,a topological optimization model that takes the stiffness of ATWC as the objective function and the volume of the locating structure as the constraint is established.Secondly,ATWC and the locating structure are regarded as an integrated entity,and the variable-density method based topological optimization approach is adopted for the optimization of the locating structure using ABAQUS topology optimization module(ATOM).Thirdly,through a subsequent model reconstruction referring to the obtained topological structure,the optimal fixture locating layout is achieved.Finally,a case study is conducted to verify the proposed method and the comparison results with firefly algorithm(FA)coupled with finite element analysis(FEA)indicate that the number and positions of the locators for ATWC can be optimized simultaneously and successfully by the proposed topological optimization model.展开更多

Oscillatory process loop variables are automatically selected based on the component-related ratio index and a mixing matrix, both of which are obtained in data preprocessing by spectral independent component analysis. The complex causality among oscillatory process variables is then revealed by Granger causality test and is visualized in the form of causality diagram. The simplification of causal connectivity in the diagram is performed according to the understanding of process knowledge and the final simplest causality diagram, which represents the main oscillation propagation paths, is achieved by the automated cutting-off thresh-old search, with which less significant causality pathways are filtered out. The source of the oscillation disturbance can be identified intuitively through the final causality diagram. Both simulated and real plant data tests are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.展开更多

Methods Four hundreds and eighty-six patients who were undergone transseptal punct...Objective To devise the safety and validity of clinical application of esophagus radiographic locating method of transseptal puncture. Methods Four hundreds and eighty-six patients who were undergone transseptal puncture were randomized into two groups. Esophagus radiographic locating method of tansseptal puncture was applied in the study group(n=243) and modified-Ross locating method was used in the control group(n=243). After successful location, transseptal puncture was made. Then observe the success rate and complication incidences of the 2 groups. Results Left atria impression in the study group was clearly seen. 120 cases in control group could not shown clearly the left atria silhouette. The success rate of locating transseptal puncture in the study group and control group were 100% and 50.6 % respectively(P【0.001). The success rate of transeptal puncture in the study group and control group was 99.6% and 45.7% respectively (P【0.001). There were no puncture complication in study group and pericardial tamponade occurred in 1 case in control group. Conclusion The esophagus radiographic locating method of transeptal puncture is accurate, safe and simple to perform. According to the radiographic result, to perform thetranseptal puncture can achieve high success rate with few complications.展开更多

GMF plus Rain is based on the basic raidative transfer model with attenuation and scattering effects of rain on r...This paper proposes a rain considered geophysical model function (GMF), to be noted as GMF plus Rain. GMF plus Rain is based on the basic raidative transfer model with attenuation and scattering effects of rain on radar signal considered. Combined with the NSCAT2 GMF and the rain correction model, the GMF plus Rain model is used to retrieve the ocean wind vectors from the collocated QuikSCAT and SSM/I rain rate data for typhoon Melor. The resulting wind speed estimates of typhoon Melor show improved agreement with the wind fields derived from the best track analysis of Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). The results imply that compared with the GMF model, the GMF plus Rain model can improve the precision of wind retrieval under the rain condition. Then, a new general algorithm of locating the eye of typhoon through the normalized radar cross section (NRCS) is proposed. The implementation of this algorithm in the ten QuikSCAT observations of typhoon Melor suggests that this algorithm is effective.展开更多

We optimize the constraint of the event streams and propose a novel method to derive the constraint between objects, as well as the constraint between object and location. This program is applied to locate the failure component of the power system of a satellite. Following this route, local spiral cloud belt is segmented from the raw images using image segmentation, the spiral information is extracted using mathematic morphology, and local spiral curves are detected using Hough transformation. The problem of center locating of developing typhoon has finally been solved through a search algorithm of spiral curve. For No. 99082008 cloud image, the result produced by the algorithm in this paper is at 122..3 degree west longitude, 117.5 degree north latitude. Fire rescue challenges and solutions have evolved from straightfor-ward plane rescue to encompass 3D space due to the rise of high-rise city buildings.Hence,this study facilitates a system with quick and simplified on...Fire rescue challenges and solutions have evolved from straightfor-ward plane rescue to encompass 3D space due to the rise of high-rise city buildings.Hence,this study facilitates a system with quick and simplified on-site launching and generates real-time location data,enabling fire rescuers to arrive at the intended spot faster and correctly for effective and precise rescue.Auto-positioning with step-by-step instructions is proposed when launching the locating system,while no extra measuring instrument like Total Station(TS)is needed.Real-time location tracking is provided via a 3D space real-time locating system(RTLS)constructed using Ultra-wide Bandwidth technology(UWB),which requires electromagnetic waves to pass through concrete walls.A hybrid weighted least squares with a time difference of arrival(WLS/TDOA)positioning method is proposed to address real path-tracking issues in 3D space and to meet RTLS requirements for quick computing in real-world applications.The 3D WLS/TDOA algorithm is theoretically constructed with the Cramer-Rao lower bound(CRLB).The computing complexity is reduced to the lower bound for embedded hardware to directly compute the time differential of the arriving signals using the time-to-digital converter(TDC).The results of the experiments show that the errors are controlled when the positioning algorithm is applied in various complicated situations to fulfill the requirements of engineering applications.The statistical analysis of the data reveals that the proposed UWB RTLS auto-positioning system can track target tags with an accuracy of 0.20 m.展开更多

The system consists of omni-dire...This paper studies on the Partial Discharge (PD) Locating System based on a mobile array of ultra-high frequency (UHF) antennas and a vehicle-mounted PD locating system is established. The system consists of omni-directional antenna array for receiving UHF PD signals, a pre-processing circuit for signal amplification and filtering and the high- speed acquisition and control unit of PD pulse signals. The developed locating system is able to simultaneously record the PD pulse signals received by the antenna array. By assessing the time difference of arrival (TDOA), the two-dimensional hyperbolic locating model quickly locates the PD source. Based on the software developed by LabVIEW, it is also possible to display, store and further analyze the acquired signals. Through the simulation of PD signals and the locating experiments with the system, it is proved that the PD locating system possesses the features of rapidity and precision in determining the bearing of PD source.展开更多

The commonly used methods are classic Well staining, classic lithium carbonate-haematine staining, fast green staining, silver staining, etc. Luxol Fast Blue can brightly stain myelin sheath, and has certain specificity. The background can be very clean if there is proper differentiation, whereas Luxol Fast Blue is cheap and convenient to operate, thus it is an ideal staining reagent for routine myelin sheath. OBJECTIVE: To show the corticospinal tract of normal adult rats with Luxol Fast Blue staining method. DESIGN: A repetitive measurement design. SETTINGS: Institute of Nuerobiology, Nantong University; Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University. MATERIALS: Six healthy adult male SD rats of clean degree, weighing averagely 300 g, were provided by the experimental animal center of Nantong University. 1 g/L Luxol Fast Blue solution was provided by Sigma Company; Leica CM1900 cryostat microtome by Leica Company; Leica DMR microscope by Leica Company. METHODS: The experiment was carried out in the Staff Room of Human Anatomy, Nantong University in May 2005. The rats were given intraperitoneal injection of combined anesthetic (2 mL/kg), then the chest was open for perfusing saline and phosphate buffer containing formamint via heart. Brain and spinal cord were removed after 1 hour then fixed, then changed to phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) containing 300 g/L saccharu at 4 ℃, and stayed overnight, tissue blocks at pyramid, decussation of pyramid and cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral segments of spinal cord were removed to prepare continuous horizontal frozen sections (30 μm) after sedimentation, the sections were dried at room temperature. The corticospinal tract of normal adult rats were shown with Luxol Fast Blue staining method, and observed under Leica DMR microscope. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Positive fibers in Luxol Fast Blue staining. RESULTS: After the Luxol Fast Blue staining, the labeled myelinated nerve fibers were bright blue. They located in the pyramid, decussation of pyramid and the ventral part of posterior funiculus in cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral segments of spinal cord. CONCLUSION: Luxol Fast Blue staining method may manifest the distribution of corticospinal tract with clear distinct in adult rats.展开更多

文摘Fixture locating layout has a direct and influential impact on aeronautical thin-walled component(ATWC)manufacturing quality.The purpose is to develop a topological optimization method for ATWC fixture locating layout to minimize the manufacturing deformation.Firstly,a topological optimization model that takes the stiffness of ATWC as the objective function and the volume of the locating structure as the constraint is established.Secondly,ATWC and the locating structure are regarded as an integrated entity,and the variable-density method based topological optimization approach is adopted for the optimization of the locating structure using ABAQUS topology optimization module(ATOM).Thirdly,through a subsequent model reconstruction referring to the obtained topological structure,the optimal fixture locating layout is achieved.Finally,a case study is conducted to verify the proposed method and the comparison results with firefly algorithm(FA)coupled with finite element analysis(FEA)indicate that the number and positions of the locators for ATWC can be optimized simultaneously and successfully by the proposed topological optimization model.

文摘An integrated method for identifying the propagation of multi-loop process oscillations and their source location is proposed in this paper. Oscillatory process loop variables are automatically selected based on the component-related ratio index and a mixing matrix, both of which are obtained in data preprocessing by spectral independent component analysis. The complex causality among oscillatory process variables is then revealed by Granger causality test and is visualized in the form of causality diagram. The simplification of causal connectivity in the diagram is performed according to the understanding of process knowledge and the final simplest causality diagram, which represents the main oscillation propagation paths, is achieved by the automated cutting-off thresh-old search, with which less significant causality pathways are filtered out. The source of the oscillation disturbance can be identified intuitively through the final causality diagram. Both simulated and real plant data tests are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.
文摘Objective To devise the safety and validity of clinical application of esophagus radiographic locating method of transseptal puncture. Methods Four hundreds and eighty-six patients who were undergone transseptal puncture were randomized into two groups. Esophagus radiographic locating method of tansseptal puncture was applied in the study group(n=243) and modified-Ross locating method was used in the control group(n=243). After successful location, transseptal puncture was made. Then observe the success rate and complication incidences of the 2 groups. Results Left atria impression in the study group was clearly seen. 120 cases in control group could not shown clearly the left atria silhouette. The success rate of locating transseptal puncture in the study group and control group were 100% and 50.6 % respectively(P【0.001). The success rate of transeptal puncture in the study group and control group was 99.6% and 45.7% respectively (P【0.001). There were no puncture complication in study group and pericardial tamponade occurred in 1 case in control group. Conclusion The esophagus radiographic locating method of transeptal puncture is accurate, safe and simple to perform. According to the radiographic result, to perform thetranseptal puncture can achieve high success rate with few complications.

文摘This paper proposes a rain considered geophysical model function (GMF), to be noted as GMF plus Rain. GMF plus Rain is based on the basic raidative transfer model with attenuation and scattering effects of rain on radar signal considered. Combined with the NSCAT2 GMF and the rain correction model, the GMF plus Rain model is used to retrieve the ocean wind vectors from the collocated QuikSCAT and SSM/I rain rate data for typhoon Melor. The resulting wind speed estimates of typhoon Melor show improved agreement with the wind fields derived from the best track analysis of Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). The results imply that compared with the GMF model, the GMF plus Rain model can improve the precision of wind retrieval under the rain condition. Then, a new general algorithm of locating the eye of typhoon through the normalized radar cross section (NRCS) is proposed. The implementation of this algorithm in the ten QuikSCAT observations of typhoon Melor suggests that this algorithm is effective.
文摘Complex event processing (CEP) can extract meaningful events for real-time locating system (RTLS) applications. To identify complex event accurately in RTLS, we propose a new RFID complex event processing method GEEP, which is based on the timed automata (TA) theory. By devising RFID locating application into complex events, we model the timing diagram of RFID data streams based on the TA. We optimize the constraint of the event streams and propose a novel method to derive the constraint between objects, as well as the constraint between object and location. Experiments prove the proposed method reduces the cost of RFID complex event processing, and improves the efficiency of the RTLS.

文摘It is currently prevalent to locate faults for a satellite power system based on an expert system, not utilizing all the available information provided by tests. The casual network model for a satellite power system is presented. Considerations for failure probability of each component of the power system, the cost of applying each test, the influence of a precedent test result on the next test selection, and an optimal sequential testing algorithm for fault location is presented. This program is applied to locate the failure component of the power system of a satellite. The results show this program is very effective and it is very fast to generate an optimal diagnosis tree.
文摘In the developing phase of typhoon formation, the spiral belt partly emerges in satellite cloud images. This research starts from images and moves on to graphics and then to representation and recognition. Following this route, local spiral cloud belt is segmented from the raw images using image segmentation, the spiral information is extracted using mathematic morphology, and local spiral curves are detected using Hough transformation. The problem of center locating of developing typhoon has finally been solved through a search algorithm of spiral curve. For No. 99082008 cloud image, the result produced by the algorithm in this paper is at 122..3 degree west longitude, 117.5 degree north latitude. The real typhoon center location was at 122.4 degree west longitude, 18 degree north latitude.
文摘Fire rescue challenges and solutions have evolved from straightfor-ward plane rescue to encompass 3D space due to the rise of high-rise city buildings.Hence,this study facilitates a system with quick and simplified on-site launching and generates real-time location data,enabling fire rescuers to arrive at the intended spot faster and correctly for effective and precise rescue.Auto-positioning with step-by-step instructions is proposed when launching the locating system,while no extra measuring instrument like Total Station(TS)is needed.Real-time location tracking is provided via a 3D space real-time locating system(RTLS)constructed using Ultra-wide Bandwidth technology(UWB),which requires electromagnetic waves to pass through concrete walls.A hybrid weighted least squares with a time difference of arrival(WLS/TDOA)positioning method is proposed to address real path-tracking issues in 3D space and to meet RTLS requirements for quick computing in real-world applications.The 3D WLS/TDOA algorithm is theoretically constructed with the Cramer-Rao lower bound(CRLB).The computing complexity is reduced to the lower bound for embedded hardware to directly compute the time differential of the arriving signals using the time-to-digital converter(TDC).The results of the experiments show that the errors are controlled when the positioning algorithm is applied in various complicated situations to fulfill the requirements of engineering applications.The statistical analysis of the data reveals that the proposed UWB RTLS auto-positioning system can track target tags with an accuracy of 0.20 m.
文摘This paper studies on the Partial Discharge (PD) Locating System based on a mobile array of ultra-high frequency (UHF) antennas and a vehicle-mounted PD locating system is established. The system consists of omni-directional antenna array for receiving UHF PD signals, a pre-processing circuit for signal amplification and filtering and the high- speed acquisition and control unit of PD pulse signals. The developed locating system is able to simultaneously record the PD pulse signals received by the antenna array. By assessing the time difference of arrival (TDOA), the two-dimensional hyperbolic locating model quickly locates the PD source. Based on the software developed by LabVIEW, it is also possible to display, store and further analyze the acquired signals. Through the simulation of PD signals and the locating experiments with the system, it is proved that the PD locating system possesses the features of rapidity and precision in determining the bearing of PD source.
文摘The two-station positioning system based on time difference and azimuth measurement has measurement redundancy. Therefore, not only can a positioning solution which is completely independent of the baseline length between two stations be derived, but also the baseline length can be solved as an unknown quantity. These findings not only enhance the performance of the two-station positioning system, but also provide a design basis for the construction of a self-organizing dynamic intelligent positioning system.

文摘BACKGROUND: There are many methods for myelin staining, mordant, or oil-soluble dye or the special reaction of osmic acid with lipoid is used according to different principles. The commonly used methods are classic Well staining, classic lithium carbonate-haematine staining, fast green staining, silver staining, etc. Luxol Fast Blue can brightly stain myelin sheath, and has certain specificity. The background can be very clean if there is proper differentiation, whereas Luxol Fast Blue is cheap and convenient to operate, thus it is an ideal staining reagent for routine myelin sheath. OBJECTIVE: To show the corticospinal tract of normal adult rats with Luxol Fast Blue staining method. DESIGN: A repetitive measurement design. SETTINGS: Institute of Nuerobiology, Nantong University; Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University. MATERIALS: Six healthy adult male SD rats of clean degree, weighing averagely 300 g, were provided by the experimental animal center of Nantong University. 1 g/L Luxol Fast Blue solution was provided by Sigma Company; Leica CM1900 cryostat microtome by Leica Company; Leica DMR microscope by Leica Company. METHODS: The experiment was carried out in the Staff Room of Human Anatomy, Nantong University in May 2005. The rats were given intraperitoneal injection of combined anesthetic (2 mL/kg), then the chest was open for perfusing saline and phosphate buffer containing formamint via heart. Brain and spinal cord were removed after 1 hour then fixed, then changed to phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) containing 300 g/L saccharu at 4 ℃, and stayed overnight, tissue blocks at pyramid, decussation of pyramid and cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral segments of spinal cord were removed to prepare continuous horizontal frozen sections (30 μm) after sedimentation, the sections were dried at room temperature. The corticospinal tract of normal adult rats were shown with Luxol Fast Blue staining method, and observed under Leica DMR microscope. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Positive fibers in Luxol Fast Blue staining. RESULTS: After the Luxol Fast Blue staining, the labeled myelinated nerve fibers were bright blue. They located in the pyramid, decussation of pyramid and the ventral part of posterior funiculus in cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral segments of spinal cord. CONCLUSION: Luxol Fast Blue staining method may manifest the distribution of corticospinal tract with clear distinct in adult rats.
