To gain insight into the inelastic behavior of piles, the response of a vertical pile embedded in dry sand and subjected to cyclic lateral loading was studied experimentally in centrifuge tests conducted in Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussees. Three types of cyclic loading were applied, two asymmetric and one symmetric with respect to the unloaded pile. An approximately square-root variation of soil stiffness with depth was obtained from indirect in-flight density measurements, laboratory tests on reconstituted samples, and well-established empirical correlations. The tests were simulated using a cyclic nonlinear Winkler spring model, which describes the full range of inelastic phenomena, including separation and re-attachment of the pile from and to the soil. The model consists of three mathematical expressions capable of reproducing a wide variety of monotonic and cyclic experimentalp-y curves. The physical meaning of key model parameters is graphically explained and related to soil behavior. Comparisons with the centrifuge test results demonstrate the general validity of the model and its ability to capture several features of pile-soil interaction, including: soil plastification at an early stage of loading, "pinching" behavior due to the formation of a relaxation zone around the upper part of the pile, and stiffness and strength changes due to cyclic loading. A comparison of the p-y curves derived from the test results and the proposed model, as well as those from the classical curves of Reese et al. (1974) for sand, is also presented. 展开更多

The effects of initial load and load history on the ultimate strength of strengthened RC beams were examined by externally bonded CFRP sheets. The main experimental parameters included different levels of sustaining load at the time of strengthening, and load history. Experimental results show that sustaining load levels at the time of strengthening have important influences on the ultimate strength of strengthened RC beams. If the initial load is the same, the ultimate strength of RC beams strengthened with CFRP sheets is almost the same regardless of load history at the time of strengthening. 展开更多

An experimental study is performed to investigate the temperature response and distribution in a sector tilted pad thrust bearing during the transient periods such as the load on the bearing changed abruptly.Lots of thermocouples are placed on different position such as the pad surface,leading and trailing edge as well as the pad block,and then these thermocouples are used to measure the temperature variation during the transient period.The load on one pad and the displacement of the runner are measured with different sensors.The effects of a sudden load change on temperature at different position of the pads are analyzed according to the experimental data.The influence of different initial conditions and the different load increment on temperature variation at the pad surface and pad body are obtained,and temperature responses at leading edge and trailing edge under different conditions are tested.This experimental study shows a significant effect of load increment and initial condition on the temperature distribution of bearing pad interface under sudden load change conditions,and the measurement of real oil film temperature is difficult due to the large thermal inertia of pad surface. 展开更多

The experiments of thethree-point bend specimen are done on the improved Hopkinson bar. Deflection of loading point,dynamic load and instantaneous crack length are measured, then crack propagating velocities arecalculated. Experiments on 40Cr steel show that the results given by this method have a goodagreement with that obtained by the resistance fracture gage method. This article is aimed to experimentally validate the beneficial effects of boundary layer suction on improving the aerodynamic performance of a compressor cascade with a large camber angle. The flow field of the cascade is measured and the ink-trace flow visualization is also presented. The experimental results show that the boundary layer suction reduces losses near the area of rnidspan in the cascade most effectively for all suction cases under test. Losses of the endwall could remarkably decrease only when the suction is at the position where the boundary layer has separated but still not departed far away from the blade surface. It is evidenced that the higher suction flow rate and the suction position closer to the trailing edge result in greater reduction in losses and the maximum reduction in the total pressure loss accounts to 16.5% for all cases. The suction position plays a greater role in affecting the total pressure loss than the suction flow rate does. 展开更多

Long-term load and flexural failure experiments are carried out on two prestressed concrete(PC) simply supported box girders. In the long-term load experiment, girder-1(G1) is in an elastic state, while girder-2(G2) is in a cracking state. To investigate the influence of cracking on the flexural behaviors of PC simply supported box beams, the experiment results are analyzed from many aspects, such as load–deflection, load–strain, and failure mode. Experiment results show the following: 1) the shrinkage and creep of concrete have considerable influences on the long-term deflection and strain of the two girders; 2) in the flexural failure experiment, the cracks and ultimate loads of the two girders are close. The rigidity degeneration of G2 is significantly faster than that of G1, and thus G2 shows nonlinear characteristics earlier; 3) to prove the validity and rationality of the current code, the cracking load and ultimate load of the two girders are calculated according to the current code. 展开更多

为了加深对混凝土结构抗连续倒塌行为的理解并更好地指导工程实践,对混凝土结构抗连续倒塌抗力机制试验研究及相关理论计算模型进行归纳总结。主要结论有:既有试验研究主要集中在现浇钢筋混凝土框架结构、预制混凝土框架结构和板柱结构... 为了加深对混凝土结构抗连续倒塌行为的理解并更好地指导工程实践,对混凝土结构抗连续倒塌抗力机制试验研究及相关理论计算模型进行归纳总结。主要结论有:既有试验研究主要集中在现浇钢筋混凝土框架结构、预制混凝土框架结构和板柱结构,而对于预应力混凝土结构和砌体填充墙结构抗倒塌试验相对较少。框架结构抗连续倒塌主要抗力机制包括:梁的弯曲机制、压拱机制(CAA)、悬索机制(CA),楼板的压膜(CMA)和拉膜机制(TMA)。板柱节点抗冲切承载力及冲切破坏后残余承载力与板柱结构抗倒塌性能密切相关;湿式连接预制装配式框架梁可以发展类似现浇梁的CAA和CA,但是叠合楼板不能有效发展TMA;传统焊接或螺栓连接预制装配式结构抗连续倒塌性能不如湿式连接结构;预应力混凝土结构由于钢绞线的存在可以显著提升CA;砌体填充墙能够通过发展斜压杆机制显著提升框架结构抗倒塌能力。对比既有理论模型计算结果发现:既有CAA模型能够较好地预测CAA峰值荷载,但计算过程繁琐;既有CA模型仍存在预测离散性大的问题。 展开更多

喷射混凝土在隧道初期支护中广泛应用,在服役过程中常同时承受外部荷载与硫酸盐侵蚀的双重作用,目前针对两者耦合作用的研究尚不充分。本文通过试验研究了应力水平分别为混凝土极限压应力的0、7.5%、15.0%条件下,喷射混凝土在5%质量分... 喷射混凝土在隧道初期支护中广泛应用,在服役过程中常同时承受外部荷载与硫酸盐侵蚀的双重作用,目前针对两者耦合作用的研究尚不充分。本文通过试验研究了应力水平分别为混凝土极限压应力的0、7.5%、15.0%条件下,喷射混凝土在5%质量分数硫酸钠溶液中的性能演变情况。结果表明:纯硫酸盐侵蚀作用下,喷射混凝土在早龄期(侵蚀龄期30 d内)的强度与耐久性均增加,而应力作用下其性能持续下降。应力的存在加剧了因硫酸盐侵蚀引起的混凝土性能劣化,具体体现在抗压强度下降、动弹性模量降低、质量损失加剧等方面。应力水平越高,混凝土劣化程度越深。通过微观分析发现,喷射混凝土内部孔隙多为层状、片状的连通孔隙,荷载作用会促进硫酸根离子渗透、生成侵蚀产物,从而加速劣化进程。 展开更多

The influences of steady aerodynamic loads on hunting stability of high-speed railway vehicles were investigated in this study.A mechanism is suggested to explain the change of hunting behavior due to actions of aerodynamic loads:the aerodynamic loads can change the position of vehicle system(consequently the contact relations),the wheel/rail normal contact forces,the gravitational restoring forces/moments and the creep forces/moments.A mathematical model for hunting stability incorporating such influences was developed.A computer program capable of incorporating the effects of aerodynamic loads based on the model was written,and the critical speeds were calculated using this program.The dependences of linear and nonlinear critical speeds on suspension parameters considering aerodynamic loads were analyzed by using the orthogonal test method,the results were also compared with the situations without aerodynamic loads.It is shown that the most dominant factors a ff ecting linear and nonlinear critical speeds are different whether the aerodynamic loads considered or not.The damping of yaw damper is the most dominant influencing factor for linear critical speeds,while the damping of lateral damper is most dominant for nonlinear ones.When the influences of aerodynamic loads are considered,the linear critical speeds decrease with the rise of cross wind velocity,whereas it is not the case for the nonlinear critical speeds.The variation trends of critical speeds with suspension parameters can be significantly changed by aerodynamic loads.Combined actions of aerodynamic loads and suspension parameters also a ff ect the critical speeds.The effects of such joint action are more obvious for nonlinear critical speeds. 展开更多

The complex geographical environment in China makes its gravity signals miscellaneous.This work gives a comprehensive representation and explanation in secular trend of gravity change in different regions,the key features of which include positive trend in inner Tibet Plateau and South China and negative trend in North China plain and high mountain Asia(HMA).We also present the patterns of amplitudes and phases of annual and semiannual change.The mechanism underlying the semiannual period is explicitly discussed.The displacement in three directions expressed in terms of geo-potential spherical coefficients and load Love numbers are given.A case study applied with these equations is presented.The results show that Global Positioning System(GPS) observations can be used to compare with Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment(GRACE) derived displacement and the vertical direction has a signal-noise-ratio of about one order of magnitude larger than the horizontal directions. 展开更多

为了剖析采煤机摇臂壳体失效的根源、保障采煤机安全稳定运行,分析了采煤机摇臂壳体变形的影响因素,研究了壳体变形规律。首先,构建了摇臂壳体力学模型,梳理了影响摇臂壳体变形的载荷因素,其中包括采煤机截割时煤岩对滚筒产生的外部作... 为了剖析采煤机摇臂壳体失效的根源、保障采煤机安全稳定运行,分析了采煤机摇臂壳体变形的影响因素,研究了壳体变形规律。首先,构建了摇臂壳体力学模型,梳理了影响摇臂壳体变形的载荷因素,其中包括采煤机截割时煤岩对滚筒产生的外部作用力及齿轮传动系统所形成的内部载荷;其次,采用Solidworks软件建立了摇臂三维模型,并基于EDEM-ADAMS软件搭建了采煤机截割含铝质岩、灰色岩、石灰岩和粉砾岩等4种夹矸煤岩的仰角工况模型,进行摇臂壳体变形仿真;最后,搭建了壳体变形测试平台,进行了采煤机截割粉砂夹矸煤岩的实验。仿真结果表明:滚筒牵引阻力的均值小于截割阻力均值,且两者均大于侧向受力均值;壳体承受外部载荷后,其变形呈现较复杂的态势,在摇臂壳体与滚筒行星减速器结合部位的变形较大,失稳风险较大;摇臂壳体在齿轮轴位置的变形呈现多波峰、非线性、近似正态分布。实验结果表明,距滚筒行星减速器越近,变形越大,这与仿真结果高度吻合。研究清晰地揭示了摇臂壳体在复杂载荷下的变形规律,为摇臂壳体的改进设计提供了强劲的理论支撑,有助于优化采煤机设计方案,降低壳体失效风险,有效提升采煤机在实际生产作业中的可靠性与稳定性。 展开更多

The article aimed to study the durability of steel fiber reinforced concrete under the coupled sewage-loading according to compressive strength,flexural strength,compressive strength corrosion coefficient,flexural strength corrosion coefficient,compressive strength balance coefficient,flexural strength balance coefficient.Through the homemade load frame applied to design specimens,the pre-loading level are equivalent the damage intensity of 0%,10%,30% and 50% four different ways.The experimental results show that the performance of concrete down gradually and sustaining load aggravated the degree of domestic sewage attacking concrete after six month;under different stress states,the more loading levels,the more serious domestic sewage attacked the steel fiber reinforced concrete.It is proved that the concrete damage can be inhibited by adding the steel fiber,when steel fiber volume fraction is 1.0%,the corrosion resistance of concrete is best. 展开更多
