National Fire codes,mandated by government authorities to tackle technical challenges in fire prevention and control,establish fundamental standards for construction practices.International collaboration in fire protection technologies has opened avenues for China to access a wealth of documents and codes,which are crucial in crafting regulations and developing a robust,scientific framework for fire code formulation.However,the translation of these codes into Chinese has been inadequate,thereby diminishing the benefits of technological exchange and collaborative learning.This underscores the necessity for comprehensive research into code translation,striving for higher-quality translations guided by established translation theories.In this study,we translated the initial segment of the NFPA 1 Fire Code into Chinese and examined both the source text and target text through the lens of Translation Shift Theory,a concept introduced by Catford.The conclusion culminated in identifying four key shifts across various linguistic levels:lexis,sentences,and groups,to ensure an accurate and precise translation of fire codes.This study offers a through and lucid explanation of how the translator integrates Catford’s theories to solve technical challenges in NFPA 1 Fire Code translation,and establish essential standards for construction translation practices. 展开更多

Underwater acoustic communication based on Pattern Tune Delay Shift Coding (PDS) communication scheme is studied. The time delay shift values of the pattern are used to encode the digital information in the PDS scheme, which belongs to the Pulse Position Modulation (PPM). The duty cycle of the PDS scheme is small, so it can economize the power for communication. By use of different patterns for code division and different frequencies for channel division, the communication system is capable of mitigating the inter-symbol interference (ISI) caused by the muhipath channel. The data rate of communication is 1000 bits/s at 8 kHz bandwidth. The receiver separates the channels by means of bandpass filters, and performs decoding by 4 copy-correlators to estimate the time delay shift value. Based on the theoretical analysis and numerical simulations, the PDS scheme is shown to be a robust and effective approach for underwater acoustic communication. 展开更多

In this paper, we propose a sparse overcomplete image approximation method based on the ideas of overcomplete log-Gabor wavelet, mean shift and energy concentration. The proposed approximation method selects the necessary wavelet coefficients with a mean shift based algorithm, and concentrates energy on the selected coefficients. It can sparsely approximate the original image, and converges faster than the existing local competition based method. Then, we propose a new compression scheme based on the above approximation method. The scheme has compression performance similar to JPEG 2000. The images decoded with the proposed compression scheme appear more pleasant to the human eyes than those with JPEG 2000. 展开更多

The digital information are encoded in the time delay shift values of the Pattern, so the PDS scheme belongs to the Pulse Position Modulation (PPM). Several Patterns are selected for code division that the communication system could have a high ability to mitigate the inter-symbol interference (ISI) caused by multipath channel. Four communication channels work on the same time divided by different frequency, which lead to 1000bits/s of the data rate of communication. The simulation experiments show that the PDS system could adapt to many underwater acoustic channels for high data rate and high reliability. 展开更多

In this paper,a novel dual-metric,the maximum and minimum Squared Euclidean Distance Increment (SEDI) brought by changing the hard decision symbol,is introduced to measure the reli-ability of the received M-ary Phase Shift Keying (MPSK) symbols over a Rayleigh fading channel. Based on the dual-metric,a Chase-type soft decoding algorithm,which is called erased-Chase algorithm,is developed for Reed-Solomon (RS) coded MPSK schemes. The proposed algorithm treats the unre-liable symbols with small maximum SEDI as erasures,and tests the non-erased unreliable symbols with small minimum SEDI as the Chase-2 algorithm does. By introducing optimality test into the decoding procedure,much more reduction in the decoding complexity can be achieved. Simulation results of the RS(63,42,22)-coded 8-PSK scheme over a Rayleigh fading channel show that the proposed algorithm provides a very efficient tradeoff between the decoding complexity and the error performance. Finally,an adaptive scheme for the number of erasures is introduced into the decoding algorithm. 展开更多

This paper proposes a high-throughput short reference differential chaos shift keying cooperative communication system with the aid of code index modulation,referred to as CIM-SR-DCSK-CC system.In the proposed CIM-SR-DCSK-CC system,the source transmits information bits to both the relay and destination in the first time slot,while the relay not only forwards the source information bits but also sends new information bits to the destination in the second time slot.To be specific,the relay employs an N-order Walsh code to carry additional log_(2)N information bits,which are superimposed onto the SRDCSK signal carrying the decoded source information bits.Subsequently,the superimposed signal carrying both the source and relay information bits is transmitted to the destination.Moreover,the theoretical bit error rate(BER)expressions of the proposed CIMSR-DCSK-CC system are derived over additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN)and multipath Rayleigh fading channels.Compared with the conventional DCSKCC system and SR-DCSK-CC system,the proposed CIM-SR-DCSK-CC system can significantly improve the throughput without deteriorating any BER performance.As a consequence,the proposed system is very promising for the applications of the 6G-enabled lowpower and high-rate communication. 展开更多

Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) system is often deployed to protect wireless communication from jamming or to preclude undesired reception of the signal. Such themes can only be achieved if the jammer or undesired receiver does not have the knowledge of the spreading code. For this reason, unencrypted M-sequences are a deficient choice for the spreading code when a high level of security is required. The primary objective of this paper is to analyze vulnerability of linear feedback shift register (LFSRs) codes. Then, a new method based on encryption algorithm applied over spreading codes, named hidden frequency hopping is proposed to improve the security of FHSS. The proposed encryption security algorithm is highly reliable, and can be applied to all existing data communication systems based on spread spectrum techniques. Since the multi-user detection is an inherent characteristic for FHSS, the multi-user interference must be studied carefully. Hence, a new method called optimum pair “key-input” selection is proposed which reduces interference below the desired constant threshold. 展开更多

Prior to hardware implementation, simulation is an important step in the study of systems such as Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (DS-CDMA). A useful technique is presented, allowing to model and simulate Linear Feedback Shift Register (LFSR) for CDMA. It uses the Scilab package and its modeling tool for dynamical systems Xcos. PN-Generators are designed for the quadrature-phase modulation and the Gold Code Generator for Global Positioning System (GPS). This study gives a great flexibility in the conception of LFSR and the analysis of Maximum Length Sequences (MLS) used by spread spectrum systems. Interesting results have been obtained, which allow the verification of generated sequences and their exploitation by signal processing tools. 展开更多

传统的检测方法通常无法实现对金属腐蚀形貌的高精度三维重建,探索一种既高效又精确的金属腐蚀形貌重建技术,是准确评估腐蚀金属构件断裂性能的重要前提。提出将双目结构光技术引入钢材腐蚀检测领域,采用互补格雷码技术结合4步相移法设... 传统的检测方法通常无法实现对金属腐蚀形貌的高精度三维重建,探索一种既高效又精确的金属腐蚀形貌重建技术,是准确评估腐蚀金属构件断裂性能的重要前提。提出将双目结构光技术引入钢材腐蚀检测领域,采用互补格雷码技术结合4步相移法设计条纹结构光编码图案,并求解相位。基于绝对差值求和(SAD)算法完成亚像素绝对相位的立体匹配,为补偿非线性相位误差提出了适用于4步相移法的被动校正法,结合主动相位误差补偿方法进行相位误差修正。对钢腐蚀样品进行重建,并与激光测量仪扫描结果进行对比。实验结果表明,样品的平均腐蚀深度测试相对误差在26.42%以下,证明了双目立体视觉三维重建系统重建腐蚀钢材表面的有效性。 展开更多

极化调整卷积(Polarization-Adjusted Convolutional,PAC)码的列表译码算法显示出优异的性能,但是仍然存在两个缺陷:①PAC码不具备错误检测能力不利于实际应用;②列表译码算法路径度量的大量累加导致正确译码路径被删除。针对这两个问题... 极化调整卷积(Polarization-Adjusted Convolutional,PAC)码的列表译码算法显示出优异的性能,但是仍然存在两个缺陷:①PAC码不具备错误检测能力不利于实际应用;②列表译码算法路径度量的大量累加导致正确译码路径被删除。针对这两个问题,在短PAC码上级联循环冗余校验(Cyclic Redundancy Check,CRC)码使其获得检错能力,结合移位修剪列表(Shifted-Pruning List,SPL)译码算法解决列表译码潜在的正确路径被删除的问题,并结合自适应列表方案,进一步降低CRC-PAC码的误码率。仿真结果表明,与传统的CRC辅助列表译码相比,所提出的自适应移位修剪列表(Adaptive Shifted-Pruning List,ASPL)译码可以实现更好的性能。 展开更多
