By the turn of the 21 st century,the significance of knowledge to be the key factor in urban and regional development is well established. However,it has been recently and in only a few studies that attempts have been made to identify the specific mechanism and institutional relationships,through which knowledge-based development actually takes place.This paper builds upon the "Triple Helix Model" (Etzkowitz & Klofsten,2005) where university,business and government have been introduced as the key factors behind any knowledge-based development.It refers to a case study of knowledge-based community development in Australia's Smart State Queensland-and examines the role of the "Triple Helix" in the interaction between local and regional level.It shows the central role of the community as an innovation base for the interaction among the key factors and suggests a promotion for a Quadruple Helix Model where community is as important as business,university and government in the new economy.The paper concludes that knowledge-based development will not promote unless all four factors-community,business,university,government-work together. 展开更多

Enhanced Capacity Reversible Data Hiding Based on Pixel Value Ordering in Triple Stego Images

Reversible data hiding(RDH)enables secret data embedding while preserving complete cover image recovery,making it crucial for applications requiring image integrity.The pixel value ordering(PVO)technique used in multi-stego images provides good image quality but often results in low embedding capability.To address these challenges,this paper proposes a high-capacity RDH scheme based on PVO that generates three stego images from a single cover image.The cover image is partitioned into non-overlapping blocks with pixels sorted in ascending order.Four secret bits are embedded into each block’s maximum pixel value,while three additional bits are embedded into the second-largest value when the pixel difference exceeds a predefined threshold.A similar embedding strategy is also applied to the minimum side of the block,including the second-smallest pixel value.This design enables each block to embed up to 14 bits of secret data.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves significantly higher embedding capacity and improved visual quality compared to existing triple-stego RDH approaches,advancing the field of reversible steganography. 展开更多

Secured-FL:Blockchain-Based Defense against Adversarial Attacks on Federated Learning Models

Federated Learning(FL)enables joint training over distributed devices without data exchange but is highly vulnerable to attacks by adversaries in the form of model poisoning and malicious update injection.This work proposes Secured-FL,a blockchain-based defensive framework that combines smart contract-based authentication,clustering-driven outlier elimination,and dynamic threshold adjustment to defend against adversarial attacks.The framework was implemented on a private Ethereum network with a Proof-of-Authority consensus algorithm to ensure tamper-resistant and auditable model updates.Large-scale simulation on the Cyber Data dataset,under up to 50%malicious client settings,demonstrates Secured-FL achieves 6%-12%higher accuracy,9%-15%lower latency,and approximately 14%less computational expense compared to the PPSS benchmark framework.Additional tests,including confusion matrices,ROC and Precision-Recall curves,and ablation tests,confirm the interpretability and robustness of the defense.Tests for scalability also show consistent performance up to 500 clients,affirming appropriateness to reasonably large deployments.These results make Secured-FL a feasible,adversarially resilient FL paradigm with promising potential for application in smart cities,medicine,and other mission-critical IoT deployments. 展开更多

Remote driving,an emergent technology enabling remote operations of vehicles,presents a significant challenge in transmitting large volumes of image data to a central server.This requirement outpaces the capacity of traditional communication methods.To tackle this,we propose a novel framework using semantic communications,through a region of interest semantic segmentation method,to reduce the communication costs by transmitting meaningful semantic information rather than bit-wise data.To solve the knowledge base inconsistencies inherent in semantic communications,we introduce a blockchain-based edge-assisted system for managing diverse and geographically varied semantic segmentation knowledge bases.This system not only ensures the security of data through the tamper-resistant nature of blockchain but also leverages edge computing for efficient management.Additionally,the implementation of blockchain sharding handles differentiated knowledge bases for various tasks,thus boosting overall blockchain efficiency.Experimental results show a great reduction in latency by sharding and an increase in model accuracy,confirming our framework's effectiveness. 展开更多

Methods: Use the KTA knowledge translation model to guide evidence-based practice in nutrition management, and compare the nutritional status, cardiac function status, quality of life, and quality review indicators of chronic heart failure patients before and after the application of evidence. Results: After the application of evidence, the nutritional status indicators (MNA-SF score, albumin, hemoglobin) of two groups of heart failure patients significantly increased compared to before the application of evidence, with statistically significant differences (p Conclusion: The KTA knowledge translation model provides methodological guidance for the implementation of evidence-based practice for heart failure patients. Bacterial blight(BB),caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pathovar oryzae(Xoo),poses a significant threat to rice production,particularly in Asia and West Africa.Breeding resistance against BB in elite rice varieties is crucial to advancing rice breeding program and supporting smallholder farmers.Transcription Activator-Like effectors(TALes)are key virulence factors in Xoo,with some targeting the susceptibility(S)genes such as the sugar transporter SWEET genes in rice.Among these,SWEET14 is an important S gene,with its promoter bound by the TALe TalC which exists across all sequenced African Xoo isolates.In the present study,we utilized CRISPR/Cas9-based cytidine and adenine base editors to alter the effector binding element(EBE)of TalC in the promoter of SWEET14 in rice cultivars Kitaake,IR24,and Zhonghua 11.Mutations with C to T changes in EBE led to reduced SWEET14 induction by TalC-containing Xoo strains,resulting in resistance to African Xoo isolates reliant on TalC for virulence.Conversely,A to G changes retained SWEET14 inducibility and susceptibility to Xoo in edited lines.Importantly,no off-target mutations were detected at predicted sites,and the edited lines exhibited no obvious defects in major agronomic traits in Kitaake.These results underscore the effectiveness of base editing systems for both molecular biology research and crop improvement endeavors. 展开更多

A Dynamic Knowledge Base Updating Mechanism-Based Retrieval-Augmented Generation Framework for Intelligent Question-and-Answer Systems 被引量:1

In the context of power generation companies, vast amounts of specialized data and expert knowledge have been accumulated. However, challenges such as data silos and fragmented knowledge hinder the effective utilization of this information. This study proposes a novel framework for intelligent Question-and-Answer (Q&A) systems based on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to address these issues. The system efficiently acquires domain-specific knowledge by leveraging external databases, including Relational Databases (RDBs) and graph databases, without additional fine-tuning for Large Language Models (LLMs). Crucially, the framework integrates a Dynamic Knowledge Base Updating Mechanism (DKBUM) and a Weighted Context-Aware Similarity (WCAS) method to enhance retrieval accuracy and mitigate inherent limitations of LLMs, such as hallucinations and lack of specialization. Additionally, the proposed DKBUM dynamically adjusts knowledge weights within the database, ensuring that the most recent and relevant information is utilized, while WCAS refines the alignment between queries and knowledge items by enhanced context understanding. Experimental validation demonstrates that the system can generate timely, accurate, and context-sensitive responses, making it a robust solution for managing complex business logic in specialized industries. 展开更多

Embodied visual exploration is critical for building intelligent visual agents. This paper presents the neural exploration with feature-based visual odometry and tracking-failure-reduction policy(Ne OR), a framework for embodied visual exploration that possesses the efficient exploration capabilities of deep reinforcement learning(DRL)-based exploration policies and leverages feature-based visual odometry(VO) for more accurate mapping and positioning results. An improved local policy is also proposed to reduce tracking failures of feature-based VO in weakly textured scenes through a refined multi-discrete action space, keyframe fusion, and an auxiliary task. The experimental results demonstrate that Ne OR has better mapping and positioning accuracy compared to other entirely learning-based exploration frameworks and improves the robustness of feature-based VO by significantly reducing tracking failures in weakly textured scenes. 展开更多

The wireless signals emitted by base stations serve as a vital link connecting people in today’s society and have been occupying an increasingly important role in real life.The development of the Internet of Things(IoT)relies on the support of base stations,which provide a solid foundation for achieving a more intelligent way of living.In a specific area,achieving higher signal coverage with fewer base stations has become an urgent problem.Therefore,this article focuses on the effective coverage area of base station signals and proposes a novel Evolutionary Particle Swarm Optimization(EPSO)algorithm based on collective prediction,referred to herein as ECPPSO.Introducing a new strategy called neighbor-based evolution prediction(NEP)addresses the issue of premature convergence often encountered by PSO.ECPPSO also employs a strengthening evolution(SE)strategy to enhance the algorithm’s global search capability and efficiency,ensuring enhanced robustness and a faster convergence speed when solving complex optimization problems.To better adapt to the actual communication needs of base stations,this article conducts simulation experiments by changing the number of base stations.The experimental results demonstrate thatunder the conditionof 50 ormore base stations,ECPPSOconsistently achieves the best coverage rate exceeding 95%,peaking at 99.4400%when the number of base stations reaches 80.These results validate the optimization capability of the ECPPSO algorithm,proving its feasibility and effectiveness.Further ablative experiments and comparisons with other algorithms highlight the advantages of ECPPSO. 展开更多

提出了一种结合拉曼光谱与扩散模型改进的Wasserstein生成对抗网络(WGANGP)方法,用于提高变压器油纸绝缘老化状态的检测精度。凭借拉曼光谱技术无接触、不损耗的优势,可通过其分析油浸式电力变压器内部油纸绝缘材料的老化产物来评估变... 提出了一种结合拉曼光谱与扩散模型改进的Wasserstein生成对抗网络(WGANGP)方法,用于提高变压器油纸绝缘老化状态的检测精度。凭借拉曼光谱技术无接触、不损耗的优势,可通过其分析油浸式电力变压器内部油纸绝缘材料的老化产物来评估变压器的老化程度。结合深度学习分类模型简化了拉曼光谱数据预处理过程,但此类模型对训练数据的数量和质量有较高要求,由于热加速老化实验周期长,导致可用于训练的有效拉曼光谱数据集相对稀少,限制了分类模型性能。为了解决这一难题,本研究引入了一种新的数据增强方法,即基于扩散模型的WGANGP(Diffusion-Based WGANGP),该方法通过将去噪扩散概率模型的前向加噪过程与WGANGP相结合,向WGANGP中引入实例化的噪声,去除了传统WGANGP的生成器结构中的复杂向上采样过程,简化了数据增强模型结构,有利于模型参数优化。相比于传统GAN及其变体,这种方法不仅保持了变压器油纸绝缘老化样本拉曼光谱数据集的原始特征峰特征与老化程度相关的基线漂移趋势,且与原始数据集特征保持近似的空间分布,生成的数据集信噪比(SNR)为24.84 dB,相比于原始数据集提高了32.11%;同时,也提升了生成样本的多样性,提高了基于深度学习的老化诊断模型的泛化能力、定量分析能力和鲁棒性。实验结果表明,采用Diffusion-Based WGANGP数据增强模型所生成的拉曼光谱数据集,在多个分类模型上的表现均优于其他数据增强方法,特别是在与ResNet-SVM分类模型结合时,在Accuracy(准确性,0.9974)、F1 score(F1分数,0.9969)、Recall(召回率,0.9960)和Precision(精确度,0.9980)四个评价指标上均表现出优势,这表明改进后的数据增强模型能够有效解决变压器老化绝缘油样本稀缺的问题,同时提高了分类模型对变压器老化状态的定量诊断能力。 展开更多

To further advance the development of the fluorescent dyes for latent fingerprint imaging,two triphenylamine-based Schiff base compounds containing a benzimidazole group(TPA-BZI)and a phenyl unit(TPA-Ph)were designed and synthesized.Photoluminescence experiments revealed that both compounds exhibited solvatochromism and intramolecular charge transfer(ICT)characteristics in six organic solvents.Additionally,they showed aggregation-induced emission(AIE)in CH_(3)OH/water mixtures and solid-state fluorescence.These phenomena were further elucidated through time-dependent density functional theory(TD-DFT)calculations.It was also found that the two compounds could be used for latent fingerprints imaging,and could easily distinguish the details of fingerprints from Ⅰ to Ⅲ levels,which could provide the preliminary evidence to match personal identification. 展开更多

Magnesium-based materials,including magnesium alloys,have emerged as a promising class of biodegradable materials with potential applications in cancer therapy due to their unique properties,including biocompatibility,biodegradability,and the ability to modulate the tumor microenvironment.The main degradation products of magnesium alloys are magnesium ions(Mg^(2+)),hydrogen(H_(2)),and magnesium hydroxide(Mg(OH)_(2)).Magnesium ions can regulate tumor growth and metastasis by mediating the inflammatory response and oxidative stress,maintaining genomic stability,and affecting the tumor microenvironment.Similarly,hydrogen can inhibit tumorigenesis through antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.Moreover,Mg(OH)_(2) can alter the pH of the microenvironment,impacting tumorigenesis.Biodegradable magnesium alloys serve various functions in clinical applications,including,but not limited to,bonefixation,coronary stents,and drug carriers.Nonetheless,the anti-tumor mechanism associated with magnesium-based materials has not been thoroughly investigated.This review provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of magnesium-based therapies for cancer.It highlights the mechanisms of action,identifies the challenges that must be addressed,and discusses prospects for oncological applications. 展开更多

To increase efficiency in fierce competition,it is necessary and urgent to improve the standard of production planning for shipbuilding.The construction of curved blocks is the bottleneck to improve the efficiency of shipbuilding.Thus it is a key breakthrough for higher shipbuilding productivity to study the curved block production.By analyzing the scheduling problem in curved blocks production,we propose an intelligent curved block production scheduling method and its system based on a knowledge base,and show the main process of the system.The functions of the system include data management,assembly plan generation,plan adjustment,and plan evaluation.In order to deal with the actual situation and inherit the empirical knowledge,the system extracts some rules to control block selecting,algorithm selection,and evaluation thresholds to build a production decision-making knowledge base in the curved block scheduling system.The proposed knowledge base could be referred and modified by users,especially after a few interactions between the users and the knowledge base.The final assembly plan can be visualized and evaluated to facilitate the observation of plan implementation and effects of the decisions in the process.Finally,the system is verified by a large shipyard in Shanghai using real data and the results illustrate that the proposed method can perform the knowledge-based scheduling for curved blocks construction effectively. 展开更多
