Objectives:Adolescents’aggression is widely studied,the underlying heterogeneity of aggression among rural Chinese boarding students remains unexplored.This study investigates the latent profiles of Chinese rural boarding junior high school students’aggression and its correlations with moral disengagement and preference for solitude.Methods:A cross-sectional survey was conducted from 04–22 April 2022,using a convenient sampling method among 516 junior high school students from six Chinese rural boarding schools.The survey included the Aggression Questionnaire,the Moral Disengagement Scale(MDS),and the Preference for Solitude Scale(PSS).Results:Participants were divided into three latent profiles:low(36.0%),medium(50.9%),and high aggression levels(13.1%).Compared with low aggression,students who felt left-behind(minors who stay in the rural areas while one or both parents migrated to the urban areas for the work)accounted for a larger proportion in the medium aggression profile.The higher the grade level and the lower the educational level of the students’parents,the greater proportion of students in the medium and high aggression profiles.Additionally,students with high moral disengagement and preference for solitude showed a significant association with the medium aggression and high aggression profiles.Conclusions:The results demonstrate the significant group heterogeneity of aggression groups in Chinese rural boarding junior high school students.Targeted prevention and intervention measures can be carried out according to feeling left-behind,grade level,parents’education,and MDS and PSS scores. 展开更多

Objectives:The aim of this study was to verify the causal relationship between trait aggressiveness(TA)and moral disengagement(MD),know more about the growth trajectory of MD,and explore the effects of gender and TA on the growth trajectory.Methods:We used the Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire and Moral Disengagement Scale to survey 433 Chinese junior high school students longitudinally three times.Results:The results of the random intercept cross-lagged panel model(RI-CLPM)analysis indicated that TA positively predicted MD,while MD did not predict TA at the within-person level.Thus,TA could be considered an antecedent variable of MD.Furthermore,the unconditional latent growth linear model analysis revealed that MD among junior high school students exhibited an upward trend,characterized by an increasing rate of growth over time.In the conditional latent growth linear model analysis,we found that gender influenced only the initial level of MD but had no effect on its growth rate.Conversely,TA demonstrated both delayed and immediate positive effects on the growth of MD.Conclusions:Our findings suggested a one-way cross-lag effect between TA and MD.Additionally,the growth trajectory of MD among junior high school students was found to be ascending.This growth trajectory was influenced by gender and TA,offering valuable insights for the prevention and intervention of behavioral problems in junior high school students. 展开更多

This study investigated the effectiveness of the BOPPPS teaching model in improving English reading skills among junior high school students in Fujian Province,China.Using a quasi-experimental design,102 ninth-grade students from two classes participated:an experimental group(n=51)taught with BOPPPS for 12 weeks(12 sessions)and a control group(*n=51)receiving traditional instruction.The A2 Key for Schools test measured reading ability pre-and post-intervention.Data analysis(independent/paired t-tests,ANCOVA)revealed that students in the BOPPPS group showed significantly greater improvement in English reading ability compared to the control group.The findings indicate the BOPPPS model is well-suited for developing junior high English reading curricula to enhance student proficiency. 展开更多

Methods A total of l 210 students in... Objective To understand the status of reproductive health knowledge for junior high school students in Guangzhou city and provide the base data for reproductive health education. Methods A total of l 210 students including 657 boys and 553 girls aged 12 ~15 years were surveyed with anonymous self-administrated questionnaire. The students were from a middle school in suburb of Guangzhou city. The questionnaire contained basic concepts of reproduction, love, sex, contraceptives, abortion and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Analysis consisted of descriptive statistics and Chi square tests for differences between boys and girls. Results The students mostly had experienced menarche (94%) or first spermatorrhea (83.6%). About 58. 4% of students just knew little about process of puberty, fertilization, and contraception. Far more boys than girls considered that the effect of abortion on physical injury was harmless (30.4% and 9.6%, P〈O.O01). More than 60% of respon- dents knew the route of transmission of STDs well but were poor understanding of adverse impact of STDs. The majority of the students did not consider sexual relation- ship acceptable at their age, a viewpoint that was more strongly held by girls (61.6%) than boys (45.1%) (P〈0.001). Just 35.5% of boys would refuse when the lovers required to have a sex activity, far less than girls (76.1%) (P〈0.001). The rate of sex intercourses among students was 5%, and a slightly higher proportion (46%) had never used contraception among those who had sexual activity. The demands of students on reproductive health were mainly on how to deal with the relationship with lovers (56. 0%), knowledge on sexual health and menses (41.7%), sex moral knowledge (48.3%), contraception (45.0%), and preventive measures of STDs/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) (47. 0%). Conclusion The reproductive health knowledge for the students was at very low level There were some differences on the knowledge mastered by boys and girls while the sexual opinion of boys was more open than girls. It was urgent to carry out education among junior high school students to promote their reproductive health. 展开更多

Motivations Underlying the Snack Choices of Japanese Junior High School Students: A Study Based on Cluster Analysis

The aims of the present study were to group junior high school students according to factors influencing their snack choice and identify differences between the characteristics and snack choice behaviors of the groups. An anonymous self-report questionnaire was administered to 1936 students (13 - 15 years old) in eight junior high schools in Tokyo, Japan. The students responded to the Snack Choice Questionnaire (SCQ) as well as questions concerning snacking behaviors, lifestyles, and demographics. Cluster analysis was applied to sort the sample according to SCQ scores. Each cluster’s characteristics were examined by gender using the χ2 test or the Kruskal-Wallis test with a Bonferroni adjustment. Participants were divided into four groups: high in all factors, low in all factors, low value in health, and value in health. The “value in health” group was composed of more girls than boys and the “low in all factors” group had fewer girls than boys. Those in the “high in all factors” and “low value in health” groups indicated that they consumed more snacks. Moreover, gender differences were revealed. By assessing the SCQ prior to providing nutrition education, we can obtain valuable information to make nutrition education planning. 展开更多

The effects of the interaction between polygenes and the parent-child relationship on junior high school students’aggressive behaviors were explored through the frameworks of gene-endophenotype-behavior and neurophysiological basis.A total of 892 junior high school students participated in this study.They were asked to complete self-reported questionnaires,and saliva samples were collected.Results showed that 5-HTTLPR,MAOA-uVNTR,COMT(rs4680),and Taq1(rs1800497)of the DRD2 gene affected students’aggressive behaviors in an accumulative way.The polygenic risk score explained 3.4%of boys’aggression and 1.1%of girls’aggression.The interactions between polygenic risk score and parent-child conflict significantly affected the aggressive behaviors of male students,but did not show any significant effect on those of female students.The interactional effect of polygenic risk score and parent-child conflict on junior high school students’aggressive behaviors was completely mediated by frustration.However,the interaction effect of polygenic risk score and parent-child affinity on aggression was not affected by frustration.This study helps us better understand junior high school students’aggressive behaviors and promotes the prevention and correction of adolescents’problem behaviors. 展开更多

Against the background of the Chinese government's advocacy for deepening the reform of aesthetic education evaluation,this study focuses on musical aesthetic perception ability.It aims to enrich aesthetic education evaluation tools applicable to Chinese students and promote the diversification of evaluation methods.First,the study sorts out relevant definitions of aesthetic perception and existing assessment tools.Then,based on the perspective of cognitive neuroaesthetics,it constructs the dimensions of junior high school students'musical aesthetic perception ability,and accordingly develops the Scale for Assessing Junior High School Students'Musical Aesthetic Perception Ability.Through Exploratory Factor Analysis(EFA)and Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA),the scale shows good reliability and validity(23 items,Cronbach's=0.916,RMSEA=0.064),verifying the six-dimensional theoretical hypothesis of musical aesthetic perception ability.At the application level,a survey conducted on junior high school students in Suzhou reveals significant differences in musical aesthetic perception ability among groups with different genders,grades,and musical learning experiences.This provides a reference basis for the assessment and cultivation of musical aesthetic perception ability. 展开更多

Method: Articles from the ICHUSHI Web version 5... Objective: To understand the state of education for the prevention of cervical cancer and trends in research. The subject of cervical cancer prevention will be examined. Method: Articles from the ICHUSHI Web version 5, CiNii, and PubMed databases for the period from 2009-2019 were used. Search terms used were cervical cancer, HPV/human papillomavirus, prevention, public awareness, and education. Results: 17 articles (9 Japanese and 8 English) were analyzed. The majority of students had heard of cervical cancer but did not know of the link between it and HPV. Vaccinated individuals were significantly more likely to have deeper knowledge regarding cervical cancer and HPV. Various factors affect the vaccination rate. These include knowledge of HPV and cervical cancer, age, ethnicity, the organization or location which administers the vaccine, how to breach the subject, finances, and the opinions of friends and family. In particular, consultations with parents lead to mothers recognizing the importance of the vaccine. By way of educational intervention, opinions have grown more positive about advancing awareness, being vaccinated, and having cervical cancer screenings for the future. Conclusion: The prevention of cervical cancer requires support and fostering the judgement based on sufficient awareness and adequate education. What we need is educational intervention rooted firmly in the current societal climate aimed not only at students, but at their parents as well. 展开更多

Objective:To study the health information assistance needs of junior high school students in 8 different regions of Guangdong Province in a cluster,to understand the current situation of junior high school students'health information assistance needs,and to collect feasibility data for hospitals and schools to jointly promote the healthy development of students.Methods:In June 2019,a group of junior high school students from 8 different regions in Guangdong Province[678 students(in 2 towns),352 students(in 2 counties and prefecture-level cities),and 1098 students(in 4 provincial-level cities)]were selected in a group.A questionnaire survey was conducted by 2128 people,the results of the questionnaire survey were collected,and statistical analysis was performed.Results:Of the 2128 junior high school students in 8 different regions,only 52.07% had confidence in their health,and there were no regional differences.Health information for students seeking professional medical assistance includes:1578 person-times(74.15%)of nutritional diets,1084 person-times(50.94%)to eliminate tiredness,1190 person-times(55.92%)to improve sleep quality,1002 person-times(47.09%)to reduce anxiety,making him happier and stronger 1164 person-times(54.70%).Students in different regions asked for help on how to make their hearts happier and stronger.The results suggest that provincial and county-level students have greater needs than urban students.Conclusion:The results of this research show that junior high school students in different regions of Guangdong Province have insufficient awareness of health,and there is a large demand for various health help information,and the focus is on prevention.It is of practical significance to strengthen and meet the health information needs of junior high school students. 展开更多

促进初中生脊柱健康:基于身体活动强度、剂量与场域维度的分析

探讨初中生身体活动与脊柱侧弯的关系并提出相关建议。采用ActiGraph wGT3X-BT型三轴加速度传感器和躯干旋转测量仪测量初中生活动行为和脊柱侧弯数据,采用成分等时替代和校内或校外身体活动模式分析,从身体活动强度、活动剂量和活动场... 探讨初中生身体活动与脊柱侧弯的关系并提出相关建议。采用ActiGraph wGT3X-BT型三轴加速度传感器和躯干旋转测量仪测量初中生活动行为和脊柱侧弯数据,采用成分等时替代和校内或校外身体活动模式分析,从身体活动强度、活动剂量和活动场域层面探讨身体活动对初中生脊柱侧弯的影响。结果显示:久坐(sedentary behaviour, SB)时间占比能够正向预测初中的脊柱侧弯程度,中高强度身体活动(moderate-to-vigorous physical activity,MVPA)等时替代低强度身体活动(light physical activity, LPA)、SB和睡眠(sleep, SP)后脊柱侧弯角度均显著降低,而LPA、SB和SP等时替代MVPA后脊柱侧弯角度均显著上升。MVPA等时替换LPA、SB、SP与LPA、SB、SP等时替换MVPA对脊柱侧弯影响的剂量-效应曲线呈现不对称趋势,即MVPA等时替代LPA、SB、SP时脊柱侧弯的下降幅度明显低于LPA、SB、SP等时替代MVPA时脊柱侧弯的上升幅度。相对于MVPA不活跃型的初中生,MVPA活跃型、MVPA校内活跃型和MVPA校外活跃型的初中生脊柱侧弯程度更低,而这3种类型初中生的脊柱侧弯程度不存在显著差异。预防初中生脊柱侧弯应增加MVPA时间,建立MVPA预警机制并建立促进校内或校外身体活动的协同机制。 展开更多
