Interoperable Process: Efficient Systems in New Constructive and Product Performances

In the construction sector, which is one of the major goals of the new economy, the company is aiming at a new constructive practice and upgrading of the built, using ICT (information and communications technology) technologies. So the focus is on new operating and organizational models of sustainable building processes in the architecture, engineering and construction sectors, which are based on three-dimensional models of digital technology BIM (building information modeling). It is intended as a human activity that improves building workflows and, through software and IFACs (industry foundation classes), manages flexibility, coordinates and optimizes operational choices on time, economic, and environmental sustainability parameters. The goal is a new interoperable building process that involves designers, contractors and businesses from programming to lifecycle building and maintenance through the integrated project delivery of the building. Dynamic architectures, interactive with efficient technological and constructive systems, are integrated with innovative products of complex nature and bi-directional performance, engineered, with energy storage and renewable resources. The methodologies are based, above all, on the adoption of BIM technologies with the digital project manager and the use of robotic technological tools. Digitization is applied for the design and construction of architectural and infrastructure artifacts, in interaction with intelligent, adaptive, nanotechnical and user-friendly materials and climate. The results are aimed at efficient buildings with user comfort and safety, accuracy, and risk monitoring with remote monitoring, highlighting VDC (visual design construction) in CID (computational intelligent design). 展开更多

Security and Privacy in Permissioned Blockchain Interoperability:A Systematic Review

Blockchain interoperability enables seamless communication and asset transfer across isolated permissioned blockchain systems,but it introduces significant security and privacy vulnerabilities.This review aims to systematically assess the security and privacy landscape of interoperability protocols for permissioned blockchains,identifying key properties,attack vectors,and countermeasures.Using PRISMA 2020 guidelines,we analysed 56 peerreviewed studies published between 2020 and 2025,retrieved from Scopus,ScienceDirect,Web of Science,and IEEE Xplore.The review focused on interoperability protocols for permissioned blockchains with security and privacy analyses,including only English-language journal articles and conference proceedings.Risk of bias in the included studies was assessed using the MMAT.Methods for presenting and synthesizing results included descriptive analysis,bibliometric analysis,and content analysis,with findings organized into tables,charts,and comparative summaries.The review classifies interoperability protocols into relay,sidechain,notary scheme,HTLC,and hybrid types and identifies 18 security and privacy properties along with 31 known attack types.Relay-based protocols showed the broadest security coverage,while HTLC and notary schemes demonstrated significant security gaps.Notably,93% of studies examined fewer than four properties or attack types,indicating a fragmented research landscape.The review identifies underexplored areas such as ACID properties,decentralization,and cross-chain attack resilience.It further highlights effective countermeasures,including cryptographic techniques,trusted execution environments,zero-knowledge proofs,and decentralized identity schemes.The findings suggest that despite growing adoption,current interoperability protocols lack comprehensive security evaluations.More holistic research is needed to ensure the resilience,trustworthiness,and scalability of cross-chain operations in permissioned blockchain ecosystems. 展开更多

This mechanism adopts service interactive interfaces (SII) and service aggregative interfaces (SAI) modeled with abstract state machine (ASM) to abstractly describe the behavior of the invoked web service instances, which makes business processing accurately specify tasks and effectively solves the problems of communication and collaboration between service providers and service requesters. The mechanism also uses appropriate mediators to solve the problems of information and coinmunication incompatibility during the course of service interaction, which is convenient for service interoperability, sharing and integration. Interoperability plays an important role in the joint command, control, communication, computer, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance(C4 ISR) operations. Coordinating and integrating operational processes to fulfill a common mission are challenged by the ever-changing battlefield and hence requires a cross-organizational process management that produces an autonomous, flexible and adaptable architecture for collaborative process evolution. The traditional business process collaboration pattern is based on the predefined "public-view" perspective and cannot meet the requirement of the joint task operations. This paper proposes a flexible visibility control mechanism and a dynamic collaboration framework for modeling and generating collaborative processes. The mechanism allows collaborators to define a set of visibility rules to generate different views of the private processes for different collaborations, which gives a great flexibility for the collaboration initiator to decide on an appropriate collaboration pattern. The framework supports collaborators to dynamically and recursively add a new process or even a new organization to an existing collaboration. Moreover, a formal representation of the processes and a set of generation algorithms are provided to consolidate the proposed theory. 展开更多

Multiple Middleware Framework (MF) designs have come into existence because of the rapiddevelopment of interactive services in Heterogeneous Systems. This resulted inthe delivery of interactive services throughout Heterogeneous Environments(HE). Users are given free navigation between devices in a widespread environment and continuously interact with each other from any chosen device. Numerous interactive devices with recent interactive platforms (for example, SmartPhones, Mobile Phones, Personal Computer (PC) and Personal Digital Assistant(PDA)) are available in the market. For easy access to information and servicesirrespective of the device used for working and even at the drastic change ofthe environment, the execution of applications on a broad spectrum of computingdevices is propelled by the availability of the above-mentioned platforms. Different applications that need interoperability to coordinate and correspond with eachother should be facilitated. Using a standard interface and data format, HE mustlink various devices from various platforms together to communicate with eachother. Recently, there is an increasing use of CORBA implementation in developing multidatabase systems. Panorama is a multidatabase system that has been implemented on the top of CORBA compliant namely VisiBroker. It aims to achieve interoperability among Oracle, Sybase and other different DBMSs through the registration of these DBMSs to Panorama and through the single global query language PanoSQL designed for this system. In this paper, we first introduce CORBA for the interoperability in multidatabase systems. Then, a general view for our designed multidatabase system, Panorama, has been given. In section four, we introduce the global query language PanoSQL designed to achieve interoperability among the different DBMSs implemented in Panorama. Then, as an example, we present the registration of Oracle to Panorama in order to achieve interoperability in this system. Using a Health Level 7 Interoperability Bus to Support Legacy Systems in the Health Domain

In order to reduce the effort in the integration and actualization of heterogeneous healthcare legacy systems that should share a common database, we propose the creation of an interoperability bus using the HL7 standard—the HL7Middleware. This interoperability bus is an intermediate layer responsible for the communication between a database, health information systems and medical equipment, called HL7Server. Connected systems use the HL7 messaging semantics to store and retrieve data from the database. We validate our approach with respect to two different criteria: performance and integration costs. Benchmark tests were executed with and without the use of HL7Middleware and with different network bandwidths. These results demonstrated that the performance of the interoperability bus is higher when compared to traditional database access for larger volumes of data and when the bandwidth of the user is considerably lower than the bandwidth of the connection between HL7Server and database. The overall development and deployment cost was considered low and the reusability degree of wrapper code was considered high, thus suggesting a progressive reduction of the integration costs of additional services and subsystems of an organization. 展开更多

More than two decades ago, object-oriented representation of AEC (architecture engineering and construction) projects started to offer the promise of seamless communication of semantic data models between computer-based systems used from the design stage to the operation of the facilities. BIM (building information modelling) emerged and appeared as a means to store all relevant data generated during the life-cycle of the facilities. But this upstream view of the built environment, arising from the design and construction stages, extended to the downstream operations where building and industrial facilities appeared more and more as huge dynamic data producers and concentrators while being operated. This created new challenges leading to what is referred to as ISCs (intelligent and smart constructions). The current state of the art is that final constructions still contain various and increasingly versatile control and service systems, which are hardly standardised, and not interconnected among themselves. Monitoring, maintenance and services are done by specialised companies, each responsible of different systems, which are relying on customised software and techniques to meet specific user needs and are based on monolithic applications that require manual configuration for specific uses, maintenance and support. We demonstrate in this paper that the early promises of integration across the actors and along the life-time of facilities have gone a long way but will only be delivered through enhanced standardisation of computerized models, representations, services and operations still not yet fully accomplished 25 years after work started. 展开更多

Mathematical vehicle ОCDs are models, methods, algebra of operations of objective analysis and their configuring with the use of the component algebra of running, evolution and transformation of data types that are passed between objects through interfaces. Smart Inverter Functionality Testing for Battery Energy Storage Systems

Variable distributed energy resources (DERs) such as photovoltaic (PV) systems and wind power systems require additional power resources to control the balance between supply and demand. Battery energy storage systems (BESSs) are one such possible resource for providing grid stability. It has been proposed that decentralized BESSs could help support microgrids (MGs) with intelligent control when advanced functionalities are implemented with variable DERs. One key challenge is developing and testing smart inverter controls for DERs. This paper presents a standardized method to test the interoperability and functionality of BESSs. First, a survey of grid-support standards prevalent in several countries was conducted. Then, the following four interoperability functions defined in IEC TR 61850-90-7 were tested: the specified active power from storage test (INV4), the var-priority Volt/VAR test (VV) and the specified power factor test (INV3) and frequency-watt control (FW). This paper proposes a blockchain-based system as a secure, efficient, and cost-effective alternative to SWIFT for cross-border remittances. The current SWIFT system faces challenges, including slow settlement times, high transaction costs, and vulnerability to fraud. Leveraging blockchain technology’s decentralized, transparent, and immutable nature, the proposed system aims to address these limitations. Key features include modular architecture, implementation of microservices, and advanced cryptographic protocols. The system incorporates Proof of Stake consensus with BLS signatures, smart contract execution with dynamic pricing, and a decentralized oracle network for currency conversion. A sophisticated risk-based authentication system utilizes Bayesian networks and machine learning for enhanced security. Mathematical models are presented for critical components, including transaction validation, currency conversion, and regulatory compliance. Simulations demonstrate potential improvements in transaction speed and costs. However, challenges such as regulatory hurdles, user adoption, scalability, and integration with legacy systems must be addressed. The paper provides a comparative analysis between the proposed blockchain system and SWIFT, highlighting advantages in transaction speed, costs, and security. Mitigation strategies are proposed for key challenges. Recommendations are made for further research into scaling solutions, regulatory frameworks, and user-centric designs. The adoption of blockchain-based remittances could significantly impact the financial sector, potentially disrupting traditional models and promoting financial inclusion in underserved markets. Blockchain technology is increasingly popular and has been widely applied in many industrial fields,due to its unique properties of decentralization,immutability,and traceability.Blockchain systems in different fields vary,with different block structures,consensus mechanisms and access permission models.These differences make it hard for different blockchain systems to interoperate with each other,which isolates them.Cross-chain technologies have been developed to solve this isolation problem in order to improve the interoperability of blockchains.Although some surveys on cross-chain technologies can be found,they are unable to keep up with the latest research progress due to their extremely fast pace of development.Moreover,the literature misses general criteria to evaluate the quality of cross-chain technologies.In this paper,a comprehensive literature review of cross-chain technologies is conducted by employing a comprehensive set of evaluation criteria.The preliminaries on blockchain interoperability are first presented.Then,a set of evaluation criteria is proposed in terms of security,privacy,performance,and functionality.The latest cutting-edge works are reviewed based on the proposed taxonomy of cross-chain technologies and their performance is evaluated against our proposed criteria.Finally,some open issues and future directions of cross-chain research are pointed out. 展开更多

Virtualization is an indispensable part of the cloud for the objective of deploying different virtual servers over the same physical layer.However,the increase in the number of applications executing on the repositories results in increased overload due to the adoption of cloud services.Moreover,the migration of applications on the cloud with optimized resource allocation is a herculean task even though it is employed for minimizing the dilemma of allocating resources.In this paper,a Fire Hawk Optimization enabled Deep Learning Scheme(FHOEDLS)is proposed for minimizing the overload and optimizing the resource allocation on the hybrid cloud container architecture for migrating interoperability based applications This FHOEDLS achieves the load prediction through the utilization of deep CNN-GRU-AM model for attaining resource allocation and better migration of applications.It specifically adopted the Fire Hawk Optimization Algorithm(FHOA)for optimizing the parameters that influence the factors that aid in better interoperable application migration with improved resource allocation and minimized overhead.It considered the factors of resource capacity,transmission cost,demand,and predicted load into account during the formulation of the objective function utilized for resource allocation and application migration.The cloud simulation of this FHOEDLS is achieved using a container,Virtual Machine(VM),and Physical Machine(PM).The results of this proposed FHOEDLS confirmed a better resource capability of 0.418 and a minimized load of 0.0061. 展开更多
