Occupational structural transformation is a common pattern during the steady growth of GDP per capita in major economies worldwide.In recent years,there has been a decline in the employment share of goods occupation a...Occupational structural transformation is a common pattern during the steady growth of GDP per capita in major economies worldwide.In recent years,there has been a decline in the employment share of goods occupation and an increase in service occupation within the Chinese manufacturing industry,presenting a trend of occupational structural transformation and rapid development of service-oriented manufacturing.It is an important driving force and typical performance of the high-end,intelligent,and green development of the manufacturing industry.As a strategic general technology which leads the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation,artificial intelligence(AI)has become a new fundamental force to accelerate the occupational structural transformation and service-oriented manufacturing development in China.Thus,this paper establishes a dynamic general equilibrium model with AI technology and occupational heterogeneity,showing the endogenous mechanism of occupational structural transformation.We find that when AI technology is biased towards goods occupation,and the elasticity of substitution between goods occupation and service occupation is less than 1,then AI will drive the transformation of occupational structure from goods to service within the manufacturing sector,increase the proportion of service-oriented manufacturing,improve labor productivity of manufacturing relative to service and stabilize the real output share of manufacturing.Promoting deeper integration of different occupations,intensifying R&D in AI technology and reducing labor mobility barriers between occupations can effectively accelerate the occupational structural transformation and industrial structural upgrading.We use theoretical analysis and numerical simulation method to show the theoretical mechanism by which AI affects occupational structural transformation and industrial structural transformation from a macroeconomic perspective,and put forward policy implications on how to promote the service-oriented manufacturing development and accelerate the construction of modern industrial system through AI innovation.展开更多
As responses to metropolitan suburbanization and rural urbanization,the formation and evolution of urban fringes should be understood against the background of overall economic development and spatial reconstruction o...As responses to metropolitan suburbanization and rural urbanization,the formation and evolution of urban fringes should be understood against the background of overall economic development and spatial reconstruction of entire metropolises.At the same time,however,endogenous interactions between industrial structure and spatial patterns of non-agricultural activities are also worthy of scholarly attention.Since the 1980s,studies on urban fringes in China have been restricted by the lack of micro-level data.This paper investigates the spatial expansion and structural evolution of the urban fringe by taking the case of Beijing and uses systematic firm-level data in 1996 and 2001 from the National Census of Basic Units.The diversity of distribution patterns across industrial sectors brings about two interrelated results.On the one hand,structural adjustment of non-agricultural industries promotes the expansion and spatial evolution of the urban fringe.On the other hand,the stability and dynamics of industrial structure coexist in the moving urban fringe.This study also reveals that the outward-moving urban fringe is the optimal location for manufacturing,especially heavy manufacturing,as well as traditional producer and consumer services.However,industries with spatial stickiness such as tourism and sports have not moved with the fringe.Most advanced services remain concentrated in the city center.The authors argue that it is essential for understanding and managing urban fringes to take into account spatial evolution and industrial structural adjustment together with their interaction with each other.展开更多

Data showed that there is a statistically inverted-U relationship between UE and UC. Eco-environmental factor is put into the classification of industries, and gets six industrial types by two indexes viz. industries' eco-environmental demand and pressure. The statistical results showed that there is a strong relationship, for new industrial classification, between the changes of industrial structure and evolvement of UE. The drive mechanism of the evolvement of urban eco-environment, with human demand and global work division was analyzed. The conclusion is that the development stratege, industrial policies of cities, and environmental policies fo cities must be fit with their ranks among the global urban system. At the era of globalization, so far as the environmental policies, their rationality could not be assessed with the level of strictness, but it can enhance cities' competitiveness when they are fit with cities' capabilities to attract and control some sections of the industry's value-chain. Based on Joseph Schumpeter’s theory of“creative destruction,”we constructed a multi-sectoral endogenous growth model that integrates the agriculture,manufacturing,and service sectors.Employing numerical simulation,...Based on Joseph Schumpeter’s theory of“creative destruction,”we constructed a multi-sectoral endogenous growth model that integrates the agriculture,manufacturing,and service sectors.Employing numerical simulation,we investigated the dynamic influence of technological innovation on the industrial structural transformation in two key aspects:the level of innovation and the research and development(R&D)efficiency within industries.Our findings indicate that technological innovation plays a pivotal role in advancing industrial structural transformation.Enhancements in both the level of innovation and R&D efficiency within industries are instrumental in fostering industrial structural transformation.Specifically,the enhancements in the level of innovation or R&D efficiency within the agricultural sector hasten its transition toward the manufacturing sector,while such enhancement within the manufacturing sector expedites its transition toward the service sector.However,such enhancements within the service sector tend to decelerate the transition from manufacturing to service.In light of this,it is essential to harness technological innovation to enhance the level of innovation and R&D efficiency in industries to facilitate the transition of traditional industries into high-value-added and emerging ones.Meanwhile,tailored technological innovation strategies should be implemented to boost a balanced industrial structural transformation within industries.展开更多
Based on the analysis of inner motive of industrial structure evolution in developed countries after Worm War II and the contribution of primary, secondary and tertiary industries to economic growth at similar economi...Based on the analysis of inner motive of industrial structure evolution in developed countries after Worm War II and the contribution of primary, secondary and tertiary industries to economic growth at similar economic development stage as China is, this paper argues that the rising proportion of tertiary industry in developed countries after World War II is mainly caused by the price hikes in tertiary industry. During a similar economic development stage as China is, the secondary industry in both the U.S. and Japan contributed more than 60% to economic growth, thus became the driving force in real sense. This paper analyzes the change of industrial structure after 1978 and points out the gap in industrial structure when calculated by fixed price and current year＇s price. From 1978 to 2009, China＇s industrial priority was mainly transferred from primary industry to tertiary industry infixed price terms but shifted from primary industry to secondary industry in terms of current year＇s price. With a contribution rate of 68.8%, China＇s secondary industry is the chief driver of economic growth since 1978 and will continue to be so till 2020. As the tertiary industry can hardly be such a driver, the increase in tertiary industry proportion is insignificant to real economic growth, so it is not necessary for China to put tertiary industry as the starting point of industrial upgrading. Instead, China shall try every means to improve the international competitiveness of secondary industry so as to promote the qualitative and rapid growth of Chinese economy by tapping into its quality-oriented demographic dividend.展开更多

Based on panel data from 31 Chinese provinces during 2010–2022,this study constructs a systematic theoretical framework incorporating clean energy investment,technological innovation,industrial structure optimization...Based on panel data from 31 Chinese provinces during 2010–2022,this study constructs a systematic theoretical framework incorporating clean energy investment,technological innovation,industrial structure optimization,and environ-mental governance,employing spatial econometric and threshold effect models to examine the impact mechanisms of clean energy development on sustainable economic growth.The findings reveal that clean energy development has a significant promoting effect on sustainable economic growth(impact coefficient 0.437)and generates notable spatial spillover effects(coefficient 0.328);technological innovation(38.24%),industrial structure optimization(31.47%),and environmental gov-ernance(25.89%)represent three crucial pathways through which clean energy drives sustainable economic development;this impact exhibits significant regional heterogeneity,with the eastern region(0.526)showing higher effects than central(0.437)and western regions(0.342),and demonstrating a strengthening trend over time.The innovative contributions of this paper include:the first combination of spatial econometrics and threshold effect models to study the economic effects of clean energy development;construction of a detailed measurement system for clean energy development that incorporates characteristics of different types of clean energy;and quantitative analysis of the inherent causes of regional differences using the Shapley value decomposition method.The research conclusions provide a theoretical foundation and practical guidance for formulating differentiated regional development strategies,strengthening technological innovation support,optimizing the industrial development environment,and enhancing environmental governance coordination.展开更多

文摘Based on Joseph Schumpeter’s theory of“creative destruction,”we constructed a multi-sectoral endogenous growth model that integrates the agriculture,manufacturing,and service sectors.Employing numerical simulation,we investigated the dynamic influence of technological innovation on the industrial structural transformation in two key aspects:the level of innovation and the research and development(R&D)efficiency within industries.Our findings indicate that technological innovation plays a pivotal role in advancing industrial structural transformation.Enhancements in both the level of innovation and R&D efficiency within industries are instrumental in fostering industrial structural transformation.Specifically,the enhancements in the level of innovation or R&D efficiency within the agricultural sector hasten its transition toward the manufacturing sector,while such enhancement within the manufacturing sector expedites its transition toward the service sector.However,such enhancements within the service sector tend to decelerate the transition from manufacturing to service.In light of this,it is essential to harness technological innovation to enhance the level of innovation and R&D efficiency in industries to facilitate the transition of traditional industries into high-value-added and emerging ones.Meanwhile,tailored technological innovation strategies should be implemented to boost a balanced industrial structural transformation within industries.
文摘Based on the analysis of inner motive of industrial structure evolution in developed countries after Worm War II and the contribution of primary, secondary and tertiary industries to economic growth at similar economic development stage as China is, this paper argues that the rising proportion of tertiary industry in developed countries after World War II is mainly caused by the price hikes in tertiary industry. During a similar economic development stage as China is, the secondary industry in both the U.S. and Japan contributed more than 60% to economic growth, thus became the driving force in real sense. This paper analyzes the change of industrial structure after 1978 and points out the gap in industrial structure when calculated by fixed price and current year＇s price. From 1978 to 2009, China＇s industrial priority was mainly transferred from primary industry to tertiary industry infixed price terms but shifted from primary industry to secondary industry in terms of current year＇s price. With a contribution rate of 68.8%, China＇s secondary industry is the chief driver of economic growth since 1978 and will continue to be so till 2020. As the tertiary industry can hardly be such a driver, the increase in tertiary industry proportion is insignificant to real economic growth, so it is not necessary for China to put tertiary industry as the starting point of industrial upgrading. Instead, China shall try every means to improve the international competitiveness of secondary industry so as to promote the qualitative and rapid growth of Chinese economy by tapping into its quality-oriented demographic dividend.
文摘This article studies the change in the industry structure of employment in China based on the practical analysis of data of the change in the industry structure of employment and the production value of three major sectors and GNP. At the same time, the article studies the status quo of the industry structure of employment in China compared with other countries. On the basis of these studies, the article indicates the main problems in the industry structure of employment in China and gives some countermeasures to optimize it.
文摘In today＇s economic situation, overcapacity of Chinese traditional manufacturing industry poses a serious threat to sustaineck rapid and healthy development of economy. The primary reasons of excess capacity of Chinese traditional manufacturing industry are the discordant between consumption and investment, the irrational industrial structure, export is not ideal and other causes. Overcapacity of traditional manufacturing industry will lead to business failures, unemployment citizen, deflation, financial risk and other series consequences. We should learn from foreign experience in the processing of excess capacity of traditional manufacturing industry and deal with excess capacity of traditional manufacturing industry in different aspects, so as to ensure stable and healthy development of our country＇ s economy.

According to methodology, the capital structure research can be classified into two categories： the paradigm of uni-corporation and the paradigm of industry organization. Traditional capital structure research can be attribute to uni-corporation aspect. This paper reviews all literatures concerning the paradigm of industry organization and illustrates the inter-relationship among the feature of industry, the feature of suppliers and customers, the competitive strategy, product life cycle and capital structure.
文摘With the rapid development of the social economy,science and technology continue to upgrade and optimize,ushering in the digital era,which provides technical support for industrial innovation and development across all sectors.At this stage,vigorously developing the digital economy has gradually become the only means to optimize and upgrade the industrial structure.Therefore,local leaders and relevant departments need to enhance the importance of constructing the digital economy,enabling the local industrial structure to be optimized and upgraded under the impetus of the digital economy,ultimately promoting overall economic high-quality development.To this end,this paper,combined with existing research results,first elaborates on the positive impact of the digital economy on the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure.It then analyzes the challenges hindering the process of industrial structure optimization and upgrading and proposes practical pathways to address them,benefiting relevant stakeholders.
文摘Based on panel data from 31 Chinese provinces during 2010–2022,this study constructs a systematic theoretical framework incorporating clean energy investment,technological innovation,industrial structure optimization,and environ-mental governance,employing spatial econometric and threshold effect models to examine the impact mechanisms of clean energy development on sustainable economic growth.The findings reveal that clean energy development has a significant promoting effect on sustainable economic growth(impact coefficient 0.437)and generates notable spatial spillover effects(coefficient 0.328);technological innovation(38.24%),industrial structure optimization(31.47%),and environmental gov-ernance(25.89%)represent three crucial pathways through which clean energy drives sustainable economic development;this impact exhibits significant regional heterogeneity,with the eastern region(0.526)showing higher effects than central(0.437)and western regions(0.342),and demonstrating a strengthening trend over time.The innovative contributions of this paper include:the first combination of spatial econometrics and threshold effect models to study the economic effects of clean energy development;construction of a detailed measurement system for clean energy development that incorporates characteristics of different types of clean energy;and quantitative analysis of the inherent causes of regional differences using the Shapley value decomposition method.The research conclusions provide a theoretical foundation and practical guidance for formulating differentiated regional development strategies,strengthening technological innovation support,optimizing the industrial development environment,and enhancing environmental governance coordination.
文摘With the swift advancement of the modern economy,the digital economy has progressively merged into various sectors.By leveraging cutting-edge information technology,it has become a pivotal strategy to enhance both production efficiency and quality,representing the inevitable route for the transformation and upgrading of modern enterprises and industries.As the digital economy continues to develop and spread,technology has not only given rise to numerous new industries but also fostered a conducive environment for the transformation and upgrading of traditional sectors.This study takes this context as its research backdrop,examining the development background of the digital economy.It outlines the impact mechanisms through which the digital economy influences industrial structure upgrading and subsequently identifies the specific effects of the digital economy on such upgrades.Furthermore,it constructs a reform paradigm for the digital economy aimed at facilitating the upgrading of industrial structures.
文摘This paper employs the entropy method to measure the development level of digital trade across 282 prefecture-level cities in China from 2011 to 2022 and empirically investigates the impact of this digital trade development on export sophistication and the underlying mechanisms used.The results show that digital trade development significantly enhances export sophistication.Mechanism analysis suggests that this effect is primarily realized through the optimization of industrial structures and the enhancement of technological innovation capabilities.Further heterogeneity analysis reveals that the impact of digital trade development on export sophistication varies depending on geographical location,inclusion in urban agglomerations,and coastal status.These findings underscore the importance of comprehensively promoting digital trade development,fostering technological progress and innovation,and continuously upgrading industrial structures to provide new pathways for enhancing export sophistication.
