For its outstanding aerodynamic capabilities,the integrated design of the waverider and inlet is widely accepted in hypersonic aircraft.Three aspects of the integrated design of the waverider and inlet since 2020 are mainly described in this paper.Firstly,the advantages and shortcomings of the conventional integrated design are examined.Then,different layouts of integrated design are proposed,and the aerodynamic perfor-mance optimization methods of the waverider,inlet,and their coupling are introduced.Besides,a series of methods for increasing the calculating accuracy of the waverider and inlet are presented,and the focus of attention is to consider the lateral flow problem. 展开更多

Soil improvement is one of the most important issues in geotechnical engineering practice.The wide application of traditional improvement techniques(cement/chemical materials)are limited due to damage ecological en-vironment and intensify carbon emissions.However,the use of microbially induced calcium carbonate pre-cipitation(MICP)to obtain bio-cement is a novel technique with the potential to induce soil stability,providing a low-carbon,environment-friendly,and sustainable integrated solution for some geotechnical engineering pro-blems in the environment.This paper presents a comprehensive review of the latest progress in soil improvement based on the MICP strategy.It systematically summarizes and overviews the mineralization mechanism,influ-encing factors,improved methods,engineering characteristics,and current field application status of the MICP.Additionally,it also explores the limitations and correspondingly proposes prospective applications via the MICP approach for soil improvement.This review indicates that the utilization of different environmental calcium-based wastes in MICP and combination of materials and MICP are conducive to meeting engineering and market demand.Furthermore,we recommend and encourage global collaborative study and practice with a view to commercializing MICP technique in the future.The current review purports to provide insights for engineers and interdisciplinary researchers,and guidance for future engineering applications. 展开更多

[Objective] This study aimed at comparing the four extraction methods of genomic DNA from Clematis fasciculiflora Franch and determining the optimal extraction method for extracting the genomic DNA from Clematis fasciculiflora Franch.[Method] Leavies of Clematis fasciculiflora Franch were used as materials for comparing the purity and concentration of extracted DNA and extracting time among the four extraction methods of genomic DNA including improved CTAB method Ⅰ,improved CTAB method Ⅱ,improved CTAB method Ⅲ and improved SDS method.[Result] The four extraction methods could all be successfully used for extracting the genomic DNA from Clematis fasciculiflora Franch.The purity of genomic DNA was the highest using improved CTAB method Ⅰ,with the longest extracting time;while the concentration of genomic DNA was the maximum using the improved SDS method,with the shortest extracting time and relatively low purity;the extracting time of improved CTAB method Ⅲ was the shortest.[Conclusion] This study had established the optimal extraction method for extracting the genomic DNA from Clematis fasciculiflora Franch and supported for the further research using molecular biological methods. 展开更多

The reducing property of pellets prepared by ultrafine magnetite concentrate(UMC)and improving method were revealed.The results show that the reduction degree of UMC pellets is only about 56%compared with that of pellets prepared from ordinary iron ore concentrate with relatively coarse particle size,which is significantly lower than the general reduction degree of about 70%.When the composite binder composed of bentonite and organic binder was added,the reduction degree was significantly increased to 69.66%.The revealed mechanism shows that the reduced pellets with common bentonite have a concentric structure,the oxidation gap between the inner and outer layers is obvious,and the outer dense oxide layer hinders the oxidation and reduction of the inner layer.After adding the composite binder,the organic components significantly improved the internal porosity of the pellets and the aggregation degree of ultrafine iron ore concentrate particles in the granulation process,forming a porous structure.The non-uniform double-layer structure is eliminated,and the increased pores are conducive to the internal diffusion of CO,and finally the reduction degree of pellets is increased to the level equivalent to that of ordinary magnetite pellets. 展开更多

An imaging accuracy improving method is established, within which a distance coefficient including location information between sparse array configuration and the location of defect is proposed to select higher signal- to-noise ratio data from all experimental data and then to use these selected data for elliptical imaging. Tile relationships among imaging accuracy, distance coefficient and residual direct wave are investigated, and then the residual direct wave is introduced to make the engineering application more convenient. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated experimentally by sparse transducer array of a rectangle, and the results reveal that selecting experimental data of smaller distance coefficient can effectively improve imaging accuracy. Moreover, the direct wave difference increases with the decrease of the distance coefficient, which implies that the imaging accuracy can be effectively improved by using the experimental data of the larger direct wave difference. 展开更多

[ Method] Using improved Gram staining method and methyl green pyronin staining method, the pathological sections of sick rabbits were stained and identified. [ Result] The pathological changes in brain tissue could be clearly observed on sections, but parasites were not examined in pathological brain tissues stained by common staining method. When the pathological section was stained by improved Gram staining method, the pathological changes in brain tissue were not ouly stained very clearly, but blue parasites were also found in brain tissues. The parasites in epithelioid cells were stained into purple ones by methyl green pyronin staining method. [ Conclusion] The im- proved Gram staining method and methyl green pyronin staining method performed good staining effects of E. cuniculi in pathological sections, which were conducive to rapid diagnosis of encephalitozoonosis in rabbit. 展开更多

The paper presents the comparative study on numerical methods of Euler method,Improved Euler method and fourth-order Runge-Kutta method for solving the engineering problems and applications.The three proposed methods are quite efficient and practically well suited for solving the unknown engineering problems.This paper aims to enhance the teaching and learning quality of teachers and students for various levels.At each point of the interval,the value of y is calculated and compared with its exact value at that point.The next interesting point is the observation of error from those methods.Error in the value of y is the difference between calculated and exact value.A mathematical equation which relates various functions with its derivatives is known as a differential equation.It is a popular field of mathematics because of its application to real-world problems.To calculate the exact values,the approximate values and the errors,the numerical tool such as MATLAB is appropriate for observing the results.This paper mainly concentrates on identifying the method which provides more accurate results.Then the analytical results and calculates their corresponding error were compared in details.The minimum error directly reflected to realize the best method from different numerical methods.According to the analyses from those three approaches,we observed that only the error is nominal for the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method. 展开更多

Sponge city(SPC)is proposed to solve the issues such as the degradation of urban water ecosystem environment,imbalanced water resource allocation,urban water logging,and water contamination.The PPP(Public Private Partnership)model is combined to release the government pressure of SPC project construction.The development of the SPC-PPP model makes significant contributions to the sustainable development and the enhancement of urban resilience against water-related disasters.However,there is no scientific performance evaluation system on its operation period has been conducted.Therefore,the SPC-PPP Evaluation model aims to objectively and reasonably assess project effectiveness,promote its development and refine the evaluation framework.This paper has set up the MEE model for performance evaluation,with improved Matter-Element Extension method to assign values to the evaluation indices.The research results show that:(1)The MEE model is more accurate in the performance evaluation and its effectiveness is reflected in its ability to capture the correlation among different indices in the same membership,rather than merely focusing on individual indices.(2)The proposed approach provided a new aspect for performance evaluation,improving the accuracy of evaluation and promoting the development of SPC-PPP project. 展开更多

Compressed air energy storage(CAES)caverns transformed from horseshoe-shaped roadways in abandoned coal mines still face unclear mechanisms of force transfer,especially in the presence of initial damage in the surrounding rock.The shape and size of the initial damage area as well as their effect on cavern stability remain unclear.Due to the complex geometry and multiphysical couplings,traditional numerical algorithms encounter problems of nonconvergence and low accuracy.These challenges can be addressed through numerical simulations with robust convergence and high accuracy.In this study,the damage area shapes of a CAES cavern are first computed using the concept of damage levels.Then,an iteration algorithm is improved using the generalization a method through the error control and one-way coupling loop for fully coupling equations.Finally,the stability of the CAES cavern with different damage zone shapes is numerically simulated in the thermodynamic process.It is found that this improved algorithm can greatly enhance numerical convergence and accuracy.The nonuniformity of the elastic modulus has a significant impact on the mechanical responses of the CAES cavern.The cavern shape with different damage zones has significant impacts on cavern stability.The initial damage area can delay the responses of temperature and stress.It induces variations of temperature in the range of approximately 1.2 m and variations of stress in the range of 1.5 m from the damage area. 展开更多

Topology Optimization of Orthotropic Materials Using the Improved Element-Free Galerkin (IEFG) Method

In this paper,we develop an advanced computational framework for the topology optimization of orthotropic materials using meshless methods.The approximation function is established based on the improved moving least squares(IMLS)method,which enhances the efficiency and stability of the numerical solution.The numerical solution formulas are derived using the improved element-free Galerkin(IEFG)method.We introduce the solid isotropic microstructures with penalization(SIMP)model to formulate a mathematical model for topology opti-mization,which effectively penalizes intermediate densities.The optimization problem is defined with the numerical solution formula and volume fraction as constraints.The objective function,which is the minimum value of flexibility,is optimized iteratively using the optimization criterion method to update the design variables efficiently and converge to an optimal solution.Sensitivity analysis is performed using the adjoint method,which provides accurate and efficient gradient information for the optimization algorithm.We validate the proposed framework through a series of numerical examples,including clamped beam,cantilever beam,and simply supported beam made of orthotropic materials.The convergence of the objective function is demonstrated by increasing the number of iterations.Additionally,the stability of the iterative process is analyzed by examining the fluctuation law of the volume fraction.By adjusting the parameters to an appropriate range,we achieve the final optimization results of the IEFG method without the checkerboard phenomenon.Comparative studies between the Element-Free Galerkin(EFG)and IEFG methods reveal that both methods yield consistent optimization results under identical parameter settings.However,the IEFG method significantly reduces computational time,highlighting its efficiency and suitability for orthotropic materials. 展开更多

The stability of the tunnel portal slope is crucial for ensuring safe tunnel construction.Thus,a sound stability evaluation is of significance.Given the unique geological characteristics of tunnel portal slopes,it is necessary to establish a specific evaluation indicator system that differs from those used for ordinary slopes.Based on the unascertained measure method,uncertainties in the indicator are addressed by introducing the left and right half cloud asymmetric cloud model to optimize the linear membership function.The subjectivity of confidence criterion level identification is also improved by using the Euclidean distance method.Thus,a stability evaluation model for the tunnel portal slope is established based on the improved unascertained measure method.Finally,using the collected tunnel portal slope data,the results of four evaluation methods are compared with the safety factor levels.The evaluation methods include the traditional unascertained measure method,the method improved by using the left and right half cloud asymmetric cloud model,the method improved by using the Euclidean distance method,and the method improved by using both the left and right half cloud asymmetric cloud model and the Euclidean distance method.The results show that the accuracy rates of these four methods are 50%,55%,85%,and 90%,respectively.Among them,the joint improvement method has the slightest deviation,with only one level,while the other three methods had deviations of two levels.This result verifies the stability and effectiveness of the joint improvement method,providing a reference for tunnel portal slope stability evaluation. 展开更多

Basing on the new expression, we present improved amplitude spectral fitting and spectral ratio methods for interval Q inversion based on zero-offset VSP data, and the sequence for processing the zero-offset VSP data. Subsequently, we apply the proposed methods to real zero-offset VSP data, and carry out prestack inverse Q filtering to zero-offset VSP data and surface seismic data for amplitude compensation with the estimated Q value. 展开更多

Making use of the improved Lindstedt-Poincare (L-P) method, the undamped forced vibration problem is solved, and the amplitude-frequency response equation of thin plate is obtained. Furthermore, the amplitude frequency response curves of system under different condi- tions are obtained by numerical simulation. The results show that the thickness of the plate, mechanical excitation, parame- ter e, pure piezoelectric material of BaTiO3, pure piezomagnetic material of CoFe2 04, different magneto-electro-elastic ma- terials of BaTiO3/CoFe2 04 and Terfenol-D/PZT will have an impact on the system frequency response. [Objective] To introduce an improved method for DNA extraction from the faeces of red deer. [Method] Based on the traditional method of CTAB lysis, we proposed an improved DNA extraction method according to the characteristics of red deer faeces. [Result] This improved method extracted high-quality fecal DNA from Tianshan red deer and amplified the mitochondrial cytochrome b gene. With the muscle and fur DNA of red deer as the control, the sequencing results further con- firmed the reliability of the method. [Conclusion] The method requires no proteinase K in the process of extraction, and the extracted DNA can be used for PCR ampli- fication directly without the purification of DNA purification kit, thus, it is cost-saving. 展开更多

Quality of urbanization contains its process and result, as well as efficiency and fairness. It also covers quality of not only urban and rural area, but also coordinated and interacted relations of them. Follow principles of being typical, systematic and operational, we can build quality evaluation system from the aspect of its develop level, efficiency and rural-and-urban coordination. Finally, we can choose proper measures to make reasonable assessment of urbanization in China, and improve the quality of urbanization by learning from others. 展开更多
