Purpose:Journal Impact Factors and other citation-based indicators are widely used and abused to help select journals to publish in or to estimate the value of a published article.Nevertheless,citation rates primarily...Purpose:Journal Impact Factors and other citation-based indicators are widely used and abused to help select journals to publish in or to estimate the value of a published article.Nevertheless,citation rates primarily reflect scholarly impact rather than other quality dimensions,including societal impact,originality,and rigour.In response to this deficit,Journal Quality Factors(JQFs)are defined and evaluated.These are average quality score estimates given to a journal’s articles by ChatGPT.Design/methodology/approach:JQFs were compared with Polish,Norwegian and Finnish journal ranks and with journal citation rates for 1,300 journals with 130,000 articles from 2021 in large monodisciplinary journals in the 25 out of 27 Scopus broad fields of research for which it was possible.Outliers were also examined.Findings:JQFs correlated positively and mostly strongly(median correlation:0.641)with journal ranks in 24 out of the 25 broad fields examined,indicating a nearly science-wide ability for ChatGPT to estimate journal quality.Journal citation rates had similarly high correlations with national journal ranks,however,so JQFs are not a universally better indicator.An examination of journals with JQFs not matching their journal ranks suggested that abstract styles may affect the result,such as whether the societal contexts of research are mentioned.Research limitations:Different journal rankings may have given different findings because there is no agreed meaning for journal quality.Practical implications:The results suggest that JQFs are plausible as journal quality indicators in all fields and may be useful for the(few)research and evaluation contexts where journal quality is an acceptable proxy for article quality,and especially for fields like mathematics for which citations are not strong indicators of quality.Originality/value:This is the first attempt to estimate academic journal value with a Large Language Model.展开更多
BACKGROUND: This study aimed to explore the risk factors associated with intensive care unitacquired weakness(ICU-AW) in critically ill patients at risk of malnutrition and to evaluate the efficacy of early enteral nu...BACKGROUND: This study aimed to explore the risk factors associated with intensive care unitacquired weakness(ICU-AW) in critically ill patients at risk of malnutrition and to evaluate the efficacy of early enteral nutrition(EEN) and the role of biomarkers in managing ICU-AW.METHODS: This retrospective, observational cohort study included 180 patients at risk of malnutrition admitted to the emergency intensive care unit of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023. Patients were divided into ICU-AW group and non-ICU-AW group according to whether they developed ICU-AW, or categorized into EEN and parenteral nutrition(PN) groups according to nutritional support. ICU-AW was diagnosed using the Medical Research Council score. The primary outcome was the occurrence of ICU-AW.RESULTS: The significant factors associated with ICU-AW included age, sex, type of nutritional therapy, mechanical ventilation(MV), body mass index(BMI), blood urea nitrogen(BUN), and creatinine(Cr) levels(P<0.05). The PN group developed ICU-AW earlier than did the EEN group, with a significant difference observed(log-rank P<0.001). Among biomarkers for ICU-AW, the mean prealbumin(PAB)/C-reactive protein(CRP) ratio had the highest diagnostic accuracy(area under the curve [AUC] 0.928, 95% confidence interval [95% CI] 0.892–0.946), surpassing the mean Cr/BUN ratio(AUC 0.740, 95% CI 0.663–0.819) and mean transferrin levels(AUC 0.653, 95% CI 0.574–0.733).CONCLUSION: Independent risk factors for ICU-AW include female sex, advanced age, PN, MV, lower BMI, and elevated BUN and Cr levels. EEN may potentially delay ICU-AW onset, and the PAB/CRP ratio may be an effective diagnostic marker for this condition.展开更多
BACKGROUND Liver transplant(LT)recipients are susceptible to carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae(CRKP)infections.Comprehensive research addressing the incidence,timing,infection sites,resistance patterns,treatm...BACKGROUND Liver transplant(LT)recipients are susceptible to carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae(CRKP)infections.Comprehensive research addressing the incidence,timing,infection sites,resistance patterns,treatment options,and associated risk factors among LT recipients with CRKP is now lacking.AIM To assess the incidence,resistance,therapy,and risk factors of CRKP infections post-LT,and to evaluate the impact of them on prognosis.METHODS A retrospective study was conducted,including 430 consecutive patients who underwent LT between January 2015 and June 2023.This study aimed to investigate the risk factors for CRKP infections and their influence on outcomes using logistic regression analysis.RESULTS Among the 430 patients who underwent LT,20(4.7%)experienced at least one documented CRKP infection within 3 months post-transplantation.The median time from LT to the onset of CRKP infections was 6.5 days.The lungs and bloodstream were the most common sites of CRKP infections.CRKP isolates were relatively susceptible to ceftazidime/avibactam(93.7%),polymyxin B(90.6%),and tigecycline(75.0%)treatment.However,all isolates were resistant to piperacillin/tazobactam,ceftazidime,cefepime,aztreonam,meropenem,and levofloxacin treatment.Recipients with CRKP infections had a mortality rate of 35%,the rate was 12.5%for those receiving ceftazidime/avibactam therapy.Multivariate analysis identified female sex[odds ratio(OR)=3.306;95%confidence interval(CI):1.239-8.822;P=0.017],intraoperative bleeding≥3000 mL(OR=3.269;95%CI:1.018-10.490;P=0.047),alanine aminotransferase on day 1 post-LT≥1500 U/L(OR=4.370;95%CI:1.686-11.326;P=0.002),and post-LT mechanical ventilation(OR=2.772;95%CI:1.077-7.135;P=0.035)as significant variables associated with CRKP.CRKP infections were related to an intensive care unit length(ICU)of stay≥7 days and 6-month all-cause mortality post-LT.CONCLUSION CRKP infections were frequent complications following LT,with poor associated outcomes.Risk factors for post-LT CRKP infections included female sex,significant intraoperative bleeding,elevated alanine aminotransferase levels,and the need for mechanical ventilation.CRKP infections negatively impacted survival and led to prolonged ICU stays.展开更多
In the era of the digital economy,digital trade has demonstrated strong vitality,becoming a crucial driving force for the highquality development of national and regional economies.However,understanding the resilience...In the era of the digital economy,digital trade has demonstrated strong vitality,becoming a crucial driving force for the highquality development of national and regional economies.However,understanding the resilience of digital trade in the face of external crises is an important topic.Taking the backdrop of Sino-US trade friction,this paper constructs a resilience index system for digital trade.It utilizes entropy method,kernel density estimation,and ArcGIS mapping to calculate and visually analyze the resilience of China’s digital trade from 2017 to 2021.Additionally,a Tobit model is constructed to explore the main influencing factors of digital trade resilience patterns.The research findings indicate:1)temporally,during the period of Sino-US trade friction,China’s digital trade resilience shows an overall upward trend,but there are regional differences in resilience levels across the country,with a severe polarization phenomenon.2)Spatially,high resilience is observed in the eastern and central regions of China,while the western and northeastern regions exhibit low resilience.3)From a dimensional perspective,the resistance of digital trade resilience displays a spatial distribution of high values in the east and low values in the west.The recovery force is aggregated along coastal areas,and the renewal force tends to aggregate along the eastern coastline.4)Factors such as economic scale,industrial structure,urbanization rate,government fiscal expenditure,and technological talents significantly promote the enhancement of digital trade resilience.This study reveals the dynamic characteristics and influencing factors of digital trade resilience in responding to external shocks,providing theoretical basis and policy suggestions for enhancing digital trade resilience,and promoting high-quality economic development in China.展开更多
Spinal cord injury represents a severe form of central nervous system trauma for which effective treatments remain limited.Microglia is the resident immune cells of the central nervous system,play a critical role in s...Spinal cord injury represents a severe form of central nervous system trauma for which effective treatments remain limited.Microglia is the resident immune cells of the central nervous system,play a critical role in spinal cord injury.Previous studies have shown that microglia can promote neuronal survival by phagocytosing dead cells and debris and by releasing neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory factors.However,excessive activation of microglia can lead to persistent inflammation and contribute to the formation of glial scars,which hinder axonal regeneration.Despite this,the precise role and mechanisms of microglia during the acute phase of spinal cord injury remain controversial and poorly understood.To elucidate the role of microglia in spinal cord injury,we employed the colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor inhibitor PLX5622 to deplete microglia.We observed that sustained depletion of microglia resulted in an expansion of the lesion area,downregulation of brain-derived neurotrophic factor,and impaired functional recovery after spinal cord injury.Next,we generated a transgenic mouse line with conditional overexpression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor specifically in microglia.We found that brain-derived neurotrophic factor overexpression in microglia increased angiogenesis and blood flow following spinal cord injury and facilitated the recovery of hindlimb motor function.Additionally,brain-derived neurotrophic factor overexpression in microglia reduced inflammation and neuronal apoptosis during the acute phase of spinal cord injury.Furthermore,through using specific transgenic mouse lines,TMEM119,and the colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor inhibitor PLX73086,we demonstrated that the neuroprotective effects were predominantly due to brain-derived neurotrophic factor overexpression in microglia rather than macrophages.In conclusion,our findings suggest the critical role of microglia in the formation of protective glial scars.Depleting microglia is detrimental to recovery of spinal cord injury,whereas targeting brain-derived neurotrophic factor overexpression in microglia represents a promising and novel therapeutic strategy to enhance motor function recovery in patients with spinal cord injury.展开更多
Objective: This study aims to quantify the potential impact of controlling major risk factors on liver cancer deaths in China from 2021 to 2050 under various intervention scenarios.Methods: We developed a macro-level ...Objective: This study aims to quantify the potential impact of controlling major risk factors on liver cancer deaths in China from 2021 to 2050 under various intervention scenarios.Methods: We developed a macro-level simulation model based on comparative risk assessment to estimate population attributable fractions and avoidable liver cancer deaths. Risk factor prevalence data were obtained from national surveys and epidemiological estimates. Three intervention scenarios for each risk factor were projected:elimination(Scenario 1), ambitious reduction(Scenario 2), and manageable targets aligned with national/global goals(Scenario 3). The impact of secondary prevention through liver cancer screening at different coverage was evaluated.Results: Between 2021 and 2050, liver cancer deaths in China are projected to reach 9.44 million in males and4.29 million in females. Eliminating hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus could prevent 65.62%(57.47%-73.77%)and 28.47%(24.93%-32.00%) of liver cancer deaths, respectively. Achieving manageable targets in reducing the prevalence of smoking and alcohol drinking could prevent 6.57%(5.75%-7.38%) and 0.85%(0.75%-0.96%) of liver cancer deaths, with a more pronounced effect observed in males. Eliminating high body mass index(BMI)could avert 45,000 male and 25,000 female deaths annually by 2050, while diabetes elimination could prevent60,000 male and 21,000 female deaths. Secondary prevention through liver cancer screening with 80% coverage could reduce liver cancer deaths by 3.59%(3.14%-4.04%) for the total population. Combining all interventions under Scenario 1 could prevent up to 88.39%(76.65%-99.81%) of male and 77.80%(67.42%-87.88%) of female liver cancer deaths by 2050.Conclusions: Comprehensive risk factor control could prevent over 80% of liver cancer deaths in China by2050. Secondary prevention through screening may offer modest additional benefits. These findings provide strong quantitative support for targeted, evidence-based interventions and underscore the need for policy action to address key risk factors.展开更多
To clarify the relationships between the main chemical components in flue-cured tobacco in Guizhou and field meteorological factors during the tobacco growing period,the contributions of meteorological factors to the ...To clarify the relationships between the main chemical components in flue-cured tobacco in Guizhou and field meteorological factors during the tobacco growing period,the contributions of meteorological factors to the chemical composition of flue-cured tobacco and related componentswere explored in this study.Theflue-cured tobacco variety Y87 was used as the experimental material,and tobacco samples and meteorological data were collected from seven typical tobacco-growing areas in Guizhou Province.Using a random forest model and canonical correlation analysis,the impact and contribution of the monthly mean temperature,precipitation,and sunshine duration during the field growing period to the chemical indicators of tobacco leaves were investigated.During the growing period of flue-cured tobacco in Guizhou,meteorological factors showed considerable variation,with the magnitude of change decreasing in the order of precipitation,sunshine duration,and mean temperature.Precipitation in April,mean temperature in June and August,and sunshine duration in April and May had the most significant impacts on the main chemical components of tobacco leaves,particularly nicotine,total sugar,and starch,with coefficients of variation reaching 14.93%,14.59%,and 24.27%,respectively.The precipitation in May and June,mean temperature in August,and sunshine duration in June played key roles in influencing the nitrogen-nicotine ratio and total-reducing sugar ratio.Moreover,the mean temperature in May,precipitation in July,and mean temperature in July substantially contributed to the nicotine and total nitrogen contents,with contribution rates of 19.17%,12.19%,and 17.36%,respectively,to the nicotine content.Sunshine duration in May,mean temperature in August,and sunshine duration in July significantly contributed to starch content,with rates of 17.45%,15.34%,and 13.27%.During the root extension stage,vigorous growth stage,and maturation stage,meteorological factors primarily affected the accumulation of nitrogenous compounds such as nicotine and total nitrogen.Themean temperatures in May and July contributed 19.17% and 17.36% respectively to nicotine accumulation;whereas during the maturation stage and harvest stage,these factors mainly impacted the accumulation of carbohydrates such as starch and total sugars,The mean temperature in August and sunshine duration in July contributed 15.34% and 13.27% respectively to starch accumulation.Therefore,ensuring tobacco seedling transplantation is completed before May and appropriately extending the maturation period can promote the accumulation of carbon-nitrogen compounds in tobacco leaves and improve leaf quality.展开更多
BACKGROUND Patients with middle and advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)frequently experience significant anxiety and depression,severely affecting their quality of life.AIM To examine the anxiety and depression sta...BACKGROUND Patients with middle and advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)frequently experience significant anxiety and depression,severely affecting their quality of life.AIM To examine the anxiety and depression status of patients with middle and advanced HCC,the influencing factors,and the correlation between these psychological factors and quality of life.METHODS We collected baseline data from 100 patients with HCC,assessing anxiety and depression levels using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale(HAMA)and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD).Quality of life was evaluated with the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Hepatobiliary Questionnaire.Multivariate logistic regression analyzed clinical and psychosocial factors affecting anxiety and depression,while Pearson correlation assessed relationships among HAMA,HAMD,and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Hepatobiliary Questionnaire scores.RESULTS Results indicated that 64%of patients exhibited anxiety and 65%showed depression symptoms.Key influencing factors included Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer C stage,multiple tumors,social support,prior treatments(such as liver resection and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization/hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy),as well as HAMA and HAMD scores.Anxiety and depression correlated negatively with quality of life,with coefficients of-0.671 and-0.575 for HAMA and HAMD,respectively.CONCLUSION Anxiety and depression are prevalent among patients with middle and advanced HCC,impacting quality of life.This underscores the need for psychological health considerations in liver cancer treatment and establishing psychological interventions is essential.展开更多
Purpose:This study investigates key factors contributing to research impact and their interactions with the Research Impact Quintuple Helix Model by Arsalan et al.(2024).Design/methodology/approach:Using data from a g...Purpose:This study investigates key factors contributing to research impact and their interactions with the Research Impact Quintuple Helix Model by Arsalan et al.(2024).Design/methodology/approach:Using data from a global survey of 630 scientists across diverse disciplines,genders,regions,and experience levels,Structural Equation Modelling(SEM)was employed to assess the influence of 29 factors related to researcher characteristics,research attributes,publication strategies,institutional support,and national roles.Findings:The study validated the Quintuple Helix Model,uncovering complex interdependencies.Institutional support significantly affects research impact by covering leadership,resources,recognition,and funding.Researcher attributes,including academic experience and domain knowledge,also play a crucial role.National socioeconomic conditions indirectly influence research impact by supporting institutions,underscoring the importance of conducive national frameworks.Research limitations:While the study offers valuable insights,it has limitations.Although statistically sufficient,the response rate was below 10%,suggesting that the findings may not fully represent the entire global research community.The reliance on self-reported data may also introduce bias,as perceptions of impact can be subjective.Practical implications:The findings have a significant impact on researchers aiming to enhance their work’s societal,economic,and cultural significance,institutions seeking supportive environments,and policymakers interested in creating favourable national conditions for impactful research.The study advocates for a strategic alignment among national policies,institutional practices,and individual researcher efforts to maximise research impact and effectively address global challenges.Originality/value:By empirically validating the Research Impact Quintuple Helix Model,this study offers a holistic framework for understanding the synergy of factors that drive impactful research.展开更多
Objective:To analyze the efficacy of Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria tablets on neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC)and its impact on serum factors of the patients.Methods:From January 2021 to May 2025,88 ne...Objective:To analyze the efficacy of Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria tablets on neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC)and its impact on serum factors of the patients.Methods:From January 2021 to May 2025,88 neonates with NEC admitted to our hospital were selected as study subjects.During the study,these 88 patients were evenly divided into two groups,namely the observation group and the control group,with 44 patients in each group based on the random number table method.In terms of treatment,the control group was treated with meropenem,while the observation group received additional treatment with Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria powder based on the treatment plan of the control group.The clinical efficacy and differences in serum inflammatory factor levels between the two groups were compared.Results:The efficacy of the observation group(90.91%)was better than that of the control group(72.73%)(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of C-reactive protein(CRP)and procalcitonin(PCT)in both groups decreased compared to those before treatment,and the values of the above indicators in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Based on conventional treatment for NEC neonates,the use of Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria tablets has significant efficacy and can effectively reduce serum inflammatory factor levels.展开更多
Objective:To investigate the impact of early initiation of intensive lipid-lowering therapy on the postoperative efficacy and inflammatory factors in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS)undergoing percutaneous c...Objective:To investigate the impact of early initiation of intensive lipid-lowering therapy on the postoperative efficacy and inflammatory factors in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS)undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).Methods:A total of 100 ACS patients undergoing PCI admitted to our hospital were selected as the study subjects.They were randomly divided into a control group(treated with statin combined with ezetimibe,n=41),a study group 1(initiated with statin combined with PCSK9 inhibitor immediately after surgery,n=32),and a study group 2(routinely administered oral statin and initiated with combined PCSK9 inhibitor before discharge,n=27).The therapeutic efficacy,inflammatory factor levels,and incidence of adverse events were compared and analyzed among the three groups.Results:The therapeutic regimen in study group 1 demonstrated the optimal efficacy and impact on inflammatory factors,followed by study group 2,while the control group showed relatively weaker efficacy,with statistically significant differences(p<0.05).The overall incidence of adverse reactions was 30.00%in the control group,5.00%in study group 1,and 10.00%in study group 2,with statistically significant differences among the groups(p<0.05),with the lowest incidence observed in study group 1.Conclusion:Early intensive lipid-lowering therapy can effectively improve lipid metabolism,suppress inflammatory responses,and reduce cardiovascular events in ACS patients after PCI,suggesting its pleiotropic cardiovascular protective effects.展开更多

BACKGROUND Atopic dermatitis(AD),or eczema,is a chronic,pruritic inflammatory skin disease affecting children and adults.Socioeconomic status(SES)plays a significant role in developing AD.However,mixed evidence from a...BACKGROUND Atopic dermatitis(AD),or eczema,is a chronic,pruritic inflammatory skin disease affecting children and adults.Socioeconomic status(SES)plays a significant role in developing AD.However,mixed evidence from a previous study by Bajwa et al makes it difficult to determine the directionality of the association.There is a lite-rature gap in understanding the causal association between AD and socioeco-nomic factors.AIM To evaluate the impact of disparities in SES on pediatric AD populations.METHODS Based on the eligibility criteria,the literature review identified eight articles since July 2021,and a descriptive analysis was conducted using an Excel spreadsheet on key components collected from the identified studies.RESULTS Eight observational studies assessed SES in pediatric AD.Five observational studies showed mixed associations between AD and SES.Sub-analysis revealed that urban areas had a higher prevalence of AD,and four studies identified a positive association between parental education and AD in the pediatric popu-lation.Socioeconomic variables,such as residential areas and household income,significantly influence disease outcomes.CONCLUSION There is mixed association between pediatric AD and SES,with AD positively associated with parental education.There is critical need to evaluate global impact of SES variables on pediatric AD.展开更多
This study was to survey the relationship between semen values and demographics,comorbidities,and recreational substance use in a large cohort of adult men at the University of Chicago Medical Center Department of Uro...This study was to survey the relationship between semen values and demographics,comorbidities,and recreational substance use in a large cohort of adult men at the University of Chicago Medical Center Department of Urology(Chicago,IL,USA).We performed an analysis from January 2013 to December 2023 of semen samples obtained from adult patients at our institution and collected their demographics,comorbid medical conditions,and recreational substance use information.Patients were divided into categories of normozoospermia,oligozoospermia,and azoospermia on the basis of the 5th version of the World Health Organization(WHO)guidelines.Data were analyzed by univariate linear and logistic regression models,after which statistically significant variables were placed into multivariable models.Azoospermia and oligozoospermia were both associated with Caucasian or Black,Indigenous,and People of Color(BIPOC)race(both P<0.001),increasing age(P=0.005 and P<0.001,respectively),anemia(P<0.001 and P=0.02,respectively),lifetime tobacco use(both P<0.001),lifetime alcohol use(P=0.02 and P<0.001,respectively),and lifetime use of at least two recreational substances(P<0.001 and P=0.003,respectively)in multivariable models.Oligospermia was additionally associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH;P=0.003)in multivariable models.This study suggests that at-risk populations may benefit from additional early screening and workup for infertility.展开更多
BACKGROUND Cardiovascular(CV)complications are common in intensive care unit(ICU)patients after gastrointestinal surgery and are associated with increased mortality and prolonged hospital stay.The optimization of post...BACKGROUND Cardiovascular(CV)complications are common in intensive care unit(ICU)patients after gastrointestinal surgery and are associated with increased mortality and prolonged hospital stay.The optimization of postoperative nursing interventions,particularly pain management,is crucial for reducing such complications.AIM To investigate the effects of enhanced recovery nursing on CV complications after gastrointestinal surgery in ICU patients and associated risk factors.METHODS A retrospective analysis was conducted on 78 adult patients who underwent gastrointestinal surgery in the ICU of our hospital between February 2023 and September 2024.Among them,40 patients received standard care(control group),while 38 received enhanced recovery nursing(observation group).We compared the incidence of CV complications and nursing satisfaction between the two groups.Patients were divided into CV complication and non-complication groups based on complication occurrence,and logistic regression analysis was used to identify risk factors.RESULTS In the control and observation groups,the incidence of CV complications was 30.0%(12/40)and 18.4%(7/38),with a nursing satisfaction rate of 70.0%(28/40)and 92.1%(35/38),respectively.The postoperative pain score at 14 days was significantly lower in the observation group(0.27±0.15)compared to the control group(1.65±0.37),with all differences being statistically significant(P<0.05).Univariate analysis indicated significant differences in age,body mass index,hypertension,diabetes,smoking history,history of heart failure,and previous myocardial infarction(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression identified heart failure history,previous myocardial infarction,age,hypertension,and diabetes as independent risk factors,with odds ratios of 1.195,1.528,1.062,1.836,and 1.942,respectively(all P<0.05).CONCLUSION Implementing enhanced recovery nursing for ICU patients after gastrointestinal surgery is beneficial in reducing the incidence of CV complications and improving nursing satisfaction.展开更多

The intersection of economic development,energy dynamics,environmental policy,and environmental sustainability presents complex challenges for European Union(EU)countries.This study investigatedthe impact of environme...The intersection of economic development,energy dynamics,environmental policy,and environmental sustainability presents complex challenges for European Union(EU)countries.This study investigatedthe impact of environmental taxes,hydroelectricity consumption,economic globalization,and gross domestic product(GDP)on the load capacity factor(LCF)in the 10 EU member countries(including Austria,Finland,France,Germany,Italy,Poland,Portugal,Slovakia,Spain,and Sweden)using data from 1995 to 2020.To ensure the reliability and validity of the data,this study applied several advanced econometric tests,including the Pesaran and Yamagata slopeheterogeneitytest,Pesaran cross-sectional dependence(CSD)test,second-generation unit root test,and Westerlund cointegration test.The data showed important statistical issues such as slope heterogeneityacross panels,CSD,mixed-orderunit root structures,and long-run associations between variables.To address these issues,we applied an augmented mean group(AMG)model as the main regression approach,andusedthe pooled mean group-autoregressive distributed lag(PMG-ARDL)method to check the robustness.Specifically,the AMG results indicate that a 1.000%rise in hydroelectricity consumptionresults in a 0.048% rise in the LCF,while a 1.000% increase in environmental taxes leads toa 0.175% increase in the LCF.Contrary to this,a 1.000% increase in economic globalization results in a 0.370% decrease in the LCF,and a 1.000% increase in GDP leads toa 0.850% decrease in the LCF.Environmental taxes have a more beneficial impact on the environment,and GDP has the most detrimental effect.The findings provide empirical evidence on the role of environmental taxes,hydroelectricity consumption,economic globalization,and GDP in driving the LCF.Additionally,the findings provide valuable information to policy-makers,academicians,and stakeholders shaping energy and environmental policies in the 10 EU member countries.展开更多

文摘Purpose:Journal Impact Factors and other citation-based indicators are widely used and abused to help select journals to publish in or to estimate the value of a published article.Nevertheless,citation rates primarily reflect scholarly impact rather than other quality dimensions,including societal impact,originality,and rigour.In response to this deficit,Journal Quality Factors(JQFs)are defined and evaluated.These are average quality score estimates given to a journal’s articles by ChatGPT.Design/methodology/approach:JQFs were compared with Polish,Norwegian and Finnish journal ranks and with journal citation rates for 1,300 journals with 130,000 articles from 2021 in large monodisciplinary journals in the 25 out of 27 Scopus broad fields of research for which it was possible.Outliers were also examined.Findings:JQFs correlated positively and mostly strongly(median correlation:0.641)with journal ranks in 24 out of the 25 broad fields examined,indicating a nearly science-wide ability for ChatGPT to estimate journal quality.Journal citation rates had similarly high correlations with national journal ranks,however,so JQFs are not a universally better indicator.An examination of journals with JQFs not matching their journal ranks suggested that abstract styles may affect the result,such as whether the societal contexts of research are mentioned.Research limitations:Different journal rankings may have given different findings because there is no agreed meaning for journal quality.Practical implications:The results suggest that JQFs are plausible as journal quality indicators in all fields and may be useful for the(few)research and evaluation contexts where journal quality is an acceptable proxy for article quality,and especially for fields like mathematics for which citations are not strong indicators of quality.Originality/value:This is the first attempt to estimate academic journal value with a Large Language Model.
文摘BACKGROUND: This study aimed to explore the risk factors associated with intensive care unitacquired weakness(ICU-AW) in critically ill patients at risk of malnutrition and to evaluate the efficacy of early enteral nutrition(EEN) and the role of biomarkers in managing ICU-AW.METHODS: This retrospective, observational cohort study included 180 patients at risk of malnutrition admitted to the emergency intensive care unit of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023. Patients were divided into ICU-AW group and non-ICU-AW group according to whether they developed ICU-AW, or categorized into EEN and parenteral nutrition(PN) groups according to nutritional support. ICU-AW was diagnosed using the Medical Research Council score. The primary outcome was the occurrence of ICU-AW.RESULTS: The significant factors associated with ICU-AW included age, sex, type of nutritional therapy, mechanical ventilation(MV), body mass index(BMI), blood urea nitrogen(BUN), and creatinine(Cr) levels(P<0.05). The PN group developed ICU-AW earlier than did the EEN group, with a significant difference observed(log-rank P<0.001). Among biomarkers for ICU-AW, the mean prealbumin(PAB)/C-reactive protein(CRP) ratio had the highest diagnostic accuracy(area under the curve [AUC] 0.928, 95% confidence interval [95% CI] 0.892–0.946), surpassing the mean Cr/BUN ratio(AUC 0.740, 95% CI 0.663–0.819) and mean transferrin levels(AUC 0.653, 95% CI 0.574–0.733).CONCLUSION: Independent risk factors for ICU-AW include female sex, advanced age, PN, MV, lower BMI, and elevated BUN and Cr levels. EEN may potentially delay ICU-AW onset, and the PAB/CRP ratio may be an effective diagnostic marker for this condition.
文摘BACKGROUND Liver transplant(LT)recipients are susceptible to carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae(CRKP)infections.Comprehensive research addressing the incidence,timing,infection sites,resistance patterns,treatment options,and associated risk factors among LT recipients with CRKP is now lacking.AIM To assess the incidence,resistance,therapy,and risk factors of CRKP infections post-LT,and to evaluate the impact of them on prognosis.METHODS A retrospective study was conducted,including 430 consecutive patients who underwent LT between January 2015 and June 2023.This study aimed to investigate the risk factors for CRKP infections and their influence on outcomes using logistic regression analysis.RESULTS Among the 430 patients who underwent LT,20(4.7%)experienced at least one documented CRKP infection within 3 months post-transplantation.The median time from LT to the onset of CRKP infections was 6.5 days.The lungs and bloodstream were the most common sites of CRKP infections.CRKP isolates were relatively susceptible to ceftazidime/avibactam(93.7%),polymyxin B(90.6%),and tigecycline(75.0%)treatment.However,all isolates were resistant to piperacillin/tazobactam,ceftazidime,cefepime,aztreonam,meropenem,and levofloxacin treatment.Recipients with CRKP infections had a mortality rate of 35%,the rate was 12.5%for those receiving ceftazidime/avibactam therapy.Multivariate analysis identified female sex[odds ratio(OR)=3.306;95%confidence interval(CI):1.239-8.822;P=0.017],intraoperative bleeding≥3000 mL(OR=3.269;95%CI:1.018-10.490;P=0.047),alanine aminotransferase on day 1 post-LT≥1500 U/L(OR=4.370;95%CI:1.686-11.326;P=0.002),and post-LT mechanical ventilation(OR=2.772;95%CI:1.077-7.135;P=0.035)as significant variables associated with CRKP.CRKP infections were related to an intensive care unit length(ICU)of stay≥7 days and 6-month all-cause mortality post-LT.CONCLUSION CRKP infections were frequent complications following LT,with poor associated outcomes.Risk factors for post-LT CRKP infections included female sex,significant intraoperative bleeding,elevated alanine aminotransferase levels,and the need for mechanical ventilation.CRKP infections negatively impacted survival and led to prolonged ICU stays.

文摘In the era of the digital economy,digital trade has demonstrated strong vitality,becoming a crucial driving force for the highquality development of national and regional economies.However,understanding the resilience of digital trade in the face of external crises is an important topic.Taking the backdrop of Sino-US trade friction,this paper constructs a resilience index system for digital trade.It utilizes entropy method,kernel density estimation,and ArcGIS mapping to calculate and visually analyze the resilience of China’s digital trade from 2017 to 2021.Additionally,a Tobit model is constructed to explore the main influencing factors of digital trade resilience patterns.The research findings indicate:1)temporally,during the period of Sino-US trade friction,China’s digital trade resilience shows an overall upward trend,but there are regional differences in resilience levels across the country,with a severe polarization phenomenon.2)Spatially,high resilience is observed in the eastern and central regions of China,while the western and northeastern regions exhibit low resilience.3)From a dimensional perspective,the resistance of digital trade resilience displays a spatial distribution of high values in the east and low values in the west.The recovery force is aggregated along coastal areas,and the renewal force tends to aggregate along the eastern coastline.4)Factors such as economic scale,industrial structure,urbanization rate,government fiscal expenditure,and technological talents significantly promote the enhancement of digital trade resilience.This study reveals the dynamic characteristics and influencing factors of digital trade resilience in responding to external shocks,providing theoretical basis and policy suggestions for enhancing digital trade resilience,and promoting high-quality economic development in China.

文摘Spinal cord injury represents a severe form of central nervous system trauma for which effective treatments remain limited.Microglia is the resident immune cells of the central nervous system,play a critical role in spinal cord injury.Previous studies have shown that microglia can promote neuronal survival by phagocytosing dead cells and debris and by releasing neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory factors.However,excessive activation of microglia can lead to persistent inflammation and contribute to the formation of glial scars,which hinder axonal regeneration.Despite this,the precise role and mechanisms of microglia during the acute phase of spinal cord injury remain controversial and poorly understood.To elucidate the role of microglia in spinal cord injury,we employed the colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor inhibitor PLX5622 to deplete microglia.We observed that sustained depletion of microglia resulted in an expansion of the lesion area,downregulation of brain-derived neurotrophic factor,and impaired functional recovery after spinal cord injury.Next,we generated a transgenic mouse line with conditional overexpression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor specifically in microglia.We found that brain-derived neurotrophic factor overexpression in microglia increased angiogenesis and blood flow following spinal cord injury and facilitated the recovery of hindlimb motor function.Additionally,brain-derived neurotrophic factor overexpression in microglia reduced inflammation and neuronal apoptosis during the acute phase of spinal cord injury.Furthermore,through using specific transgenic mouse lines,TMEM119,and the colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor inhibitor PLX73086,we demonstrated that the neuroprotective effects were predominantly due to brain-derived neurotrophic factor overexpression in microglia rather than macrophages.In conclusion,our findings suggest the critical role of microglia in the formation of protective glial scars.Depleting microglia is detrimental to recovery of spinal cord injury,whereas targeting brain-derived neurotrophic factor overexpression in microglia represents a promising and novel therapeutic strategy to enhance motor function recovery in patients with spinal cord injury.

文摘Objective: This study aims to quantify the potential impact of controlling major risk factors on liver cancer deaths in China from 2021 to 2050 under various intervention scenarios.Methods: We developed a macro-level simulation model based on comparative risk assessment to estimate population attributable fractions and avoidable liver cancer deaths. Risk factor prevalence data were obtained from national surveys and epidemiological estimates. Three intervention scenarios for each risk factor were projected:elimination(Scenario 1), ambitious reduction(Scenario 2), and manageable targets aligned with national/global goals(Scenario 3). The impact of secondary prevention through liver cancer screening at different coverage was evaluated.Results: Between 2021 and 2050, liver cancer deaths in China are projected to reach 9.44 million in males and4.29 million in females. Eliminating hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus could prevent 65.62%(57.47%-73.77%)and 28.47%(24.93%-32.00%) of liver cancer deaths, respectively. Achieving manageable targets in reducing the prevalence of smoking and alcohol drinking could prevent 6.57%(5.75%-7.38%) and 0.85%(0.75%-0.96%) of liver cancer deaths, with a more pronounced effect observed in males. Eliminating high body mass index(BMI)could avert 45,000 male and 25,000 female deaths annually by 2050, while diabetes elimination could prevent60,000 male and 21,000 female deaths. Secondary prevention through liver cancer screening with 80% coverage could reduce liver cancer deaths by 3.59%(3.14%-4.04%) for the total population. Combining all interventions under Scenario 1 could prevent up to 88.39%(76.65%-99.81%) of male and 77.80%(67.42%-87.88%) of female liver cancer deaths by 2050.Conclusions: Comprehensive risk factor control could prevent over 80% of liver cancer deaths in China by2050. Secondary prevention through screening may offer modest additional benefits. These findings provide strong quantitative support for targeted, evidence-based interventions and underscore the need for policy action to address key risk factors.

文摘To clarify the relationships between the main chemical components in flue-cured tobacco in Guizhou and field meteorological factors during the tobacco growing period,the contributions of meteorological factors to the chemical composition of flue-cured tobacco and related componentswere explored in this study.Theflue-cured tobacco variety Y87 was used as the experimental material,and tobacco samples and meteorological data were collected from seven typical tobacco-growing areas in Guizhou Province.Using a random forest model and canonical correlation analysis,the impact and contribution of the monthly mean temperature,precipitation,and sunshine duration during the field growing period to the chemical indicators of tobacco leaves were investigated.During the growing period of flue-cured tobacco in Guizhou,meteorological factors showed considerable variation,with the magnitude of change decreasing in the order of precipitation,sunshine duration,and mean temperature.Precipitation in April,mean temperature in June and August,and sunshine duration in April and May had the most significant impacts on the main chemical components of tobacco leaves,particularly nicotine,total sugar,and starch,with coefficients of variation reaching 14.93%,14.59%,and 24.27%,respectively.The precipitation in May and June,mean temperature in August,and sunshine duration in June played key roles in influencing the nitrogen-nicotine ratio and total-reducing sugar ratio.Moreover,the mean temperature in May,precipitation in July,and mean temperature in July substantially contributed to the nicotine and total nitrogen contents,with contribution rates of 19.17%,12.19%,and 17.36%,respectively,to the nicotine content.Sunshine duration in May,mean temperature in August,and sunshine duration in July significantly contributed to starch content,with rates of 17.45%,15.34%,and 13.27%.During the root extension stage,vigorous growth stage,and maturation stage,meteorological factors primarily affected the accumulation of nitrogenous compounds such as nicotine and total nitrogen.Themean temperatures in May and July contributed 19.17% and 17.36% respectively to nicotine accumulation;whereas during the maturation stage and harvest stage,these factors mainly impacted the accumulation of carbohydrates such as starch and total sugars,The mean temperature in August and sunshine duration in July contributed 15.34% and 13.27% respectively to starch accumulation.Therefore,ensuring tobacco seedling transplantation is completed before May and appropriately extending the maturation period can promote the accumulation of carbon-nitrogen compounds in tobacco leaves and improve leaf quality.
文摘BACKGROUND Patients with middle and advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)frequently experience significant anxiety and depression,severely affecting their quality of life.AIM To examine the anxiety and depression status of patients with middle and advanced HCC,the influencing factors,and the correlation between these psychological factors and quality of life.METHODS We collected baseline data from 100 patients with HCC,assessing anxiety and depression levels using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale(HAMA)and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD).Quality of life was evaluated with the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Hepatobiliary Questionnaire.Multivariate logistic regression analyzed clinical and psychosocial factors affecting anxiety and depression,while Pearson correlation assessed relationships among HAMA,HAMD,and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Hepatobiliary Questionnaire scores.RESULTS Results indicated that 64%of patients exhibited anxiety and 65%showed depression symptoms.Key influencing factors included Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer C stage,multiple tumors,social support,prior treatments(such as liver resection and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization/hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy),as well as HAMA and HAMD scores.Anxiety and depression correlated negatively with quality of life,with coefficients of-0.671 and-0.575 for HAMA and HAMD,respectively.CONCLUSION Anxiety and depression are prevalent among patients with middle and advanced HCC,impacting quality of life.This underscores the need for psychological health considerations in liver cancer treatment and establishing psychological interventions is essential.

文摘Purpose:This study investigates key factors contributing to research impact and their interactions with the Research Impact Quintuple Helix Model by Arsalan et al.(2024).Design/methodology/approach:Using data from a global survey of 630 scientists across diverse disciplines,genders,regions,and experience levels,Structural Equation Modelling(SEM)was employed to assess the influence of 29 factors related to researcher characteristics,research attributes,publication strategies,institutional support,and national roles.Findings:The study validated the Quintuple Helix Model,uncovering complex interdependencies.Institutional support significantly affects research impact by covering leadership,resources,recognition,and funding.Researcher attributes,including academic experience and domain knowledge,also play a crucial role.National socioeconomic conditions indirectly influence research impact by supporting institutions,underscoring the importance of conducive national frameworks.Research limitations:While the study offers valuable insights,it has limitations.Although statistically sufficient,the response rate was below 10%,suggesting that the findings may not fully represent the entire global research community.The reliance on self-reported data may also introduce bias,as perceptions of impact can be subjective.Practical implications:The findings have a significant impact on researchers aiming to enhance their work’s societal,economic,and cultural significance,institutions seeking supportive environments,and policymakers interested in creating favourable national conditions for impactful research.The study advocates for a strategic alignment among national policies,institutional practices,and individual researcher efforts to maximise research impact and effectively address global challenges.Originality/value:By empirically validating the Research Impact Quintuple Helix Model,this study offers a holistic framework for understanding the synergy of factors that drive impactful research.

文摘Objective:To analyze the efficacy of Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria tablets on neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC)and its impact on serum factors of the patients.Methods:From January 2021 to May 2025,88 neonates with NEC admitted to our hospital were selected as study subjects.During the study,these 88 patients were evenly divided into two groups,namely the observation group and the control group,with 44 patients in each group based on the random number table method.In terms of treatment,the control group was treated with meropenem,while the observation group received additional treatment with Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria powder based on the treatment plan of the control group.The clinical efficacy and differences in serum inflammatory factor levels between the two groups were compared.Results:The efficacy of the observation group(90.91%)was better than that of the control group(72.73%)(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of C-reactive protein(CRP)and procalcitonin(PCT)in both groups decreased compared to those before treatment,and the values of the above indicators in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Based on conventional treatment for NEC neonates,the use of Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria tablets has significant efficacy and can effectively reduce serum inflammatory factor levels.
文摘Objective:To investigate the impact of early initiation of intensive lipid-lowering therapy on the postoperative efficacy and inflammatory factors in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS)undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).Methods:A total of 100 ACS patients undergoing PCI admitted to our hospital were selected as the study subjects.They were randomly divided into a control group(treated with statin combined with ezetimibe,n=41),a study group 1(initiated with statin combined with PCSK9 inhibitor immediately after surgery,n=32),and a study group 2(routinely administered oral statin and initiated with combined PCSK9 inhibitor before discharge,n=27).The therapeutic efficacy,inflammatory factor levels,and incidence of adverse events were compared and analyzed among the three groups.Results:The therapeutic regimen in study group 1 demonstrated the optimal efficacy and impact on inflammatory factors,followed by study group 2,while the control group showed relatively weaker efficacy,with statistically significant differences(p<0.05).The overall incidence of adverse reactions was 30.00%in the control group,5.00%in study group 1,and 10.00%in study group 2,with statistically significant differences among the groups(p<0.05),with the lowest incidence observed in study group 1.Conclusion:Early intensive lipid-lowering therapy can effectively improve lipid metabolism,suppress inflammatory responses,and reduce cardiovascular events in ACS patients after PCI,suggesting its pleiotropic cardiovascular protective effects.
文摘The manuscript by Agidew et al,evaluates the critical role of family background and socioeconomic status in shaping breast cancer awareness,attitudes,and preventive behaviors,particularly in low-resource settings.Breast cancer continues to be a leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally,with a disproportionate impact on women in low-and middle-income countries.Recent research by Agidew et al underscores a significant association between family history of breast cancer and elevated levels of knowledge,positive attitudes,and proactive behaviors among women in Northeast Ethiopia.Building upon these findings,this editorial explores the psychological mechanisms and behavioral tendencies that drive greater awareness among women with familial exposure to the disease.Additionally,it highlights persistent socioeconomic challenges—such as limited healthcare access,education disparities,and cultural stigmas-that impede widespread preventive action,especially among women without a known family history.The editorial emphasizes the necessity of integrated public health strategies that combine culturally sensitive education,community outreach,and accessible screening services.Drawing from clinical and policy perspectives,it offers guidance on how to strengthen early detection and preventive care in under-resourced environments.Ultimately,the piece advocates for a more inclusive approach to breast cancer education and prevention that addresses both familial influence and systemic socioeconomic barriers.
文摘BACKGROUND Atopic dermatitis(AD),or eczema,is a chronic,pruritic inflammatory skin disease affecting children and adults.Socioeconomic status(SES)plays a significant role in developing AD.However,mixed evidence from a previous study by Bajwa et al makes it difficult to determine the directionality of the association.There is a lite-rature gap in understanding the causal association between AD and socioeco-nomic factors.AIM To evaluate the impact of disparities in SES on pediatric AD populations.METHODS Based on the eligibility criteria,the literature review identified eight articles since July 2021,and a descriptive analysis was conducted using an Excel spreadsheet on key components collected from the identified studies.RESULTS Eight observational studies assessed SES in pediatric AD.Five observational studies showed mixed associations between AD and SES.Sub-analysis revealed that urban areas had a higher prevalence of AD,and four studies identified a positive association between parental education and AD in the pediatric popu-lation.Socioeconomic variables,such as residential areas and household income,significantly influence disease outcomes.CONCLUSION There is mixed association between pediatric AD and SES,with AD positively associated with parental education.There is critical need to evaluate global impact of SES variables on pediatric AD.
文摘This study was to survey the relationship between semen values and demographics,comorbidities,and recreational substance use in a large cohort of adult men at the University of Chicago Medical Center Department of Urology(Chicago,IL,USA).We performed an analysis from January 2013 to December 2023 of semen samples obtained from adult patients at our institution and collected their demographics,comorbid medical conditions,and recreational substance use information.Patients were divided into categories of normozoospermia,oligozoospermia,and azoospermia on the basis of the 5th version of the World Health Organization(WHO)guidelines.Data were analyzed by univariate linear and logistic regression models,after which statistically significant variables were placed into multivariable models.Azoospermia and oligozoospermia were both associated with Caucasian or Black,Indigenous,and People of Color(BIPOC)race(both P<0.001),increasing age(P=0.005 and P<0.001,respectively),anemia(P<0.001 and P=0.02,respectively),lifetime tobacco use(both P<0.001),lifetime alcohol use(P=0.02 and P<0.001,respectively),and lifetime use of at least two recreational substances(P<0.001 and P=0.003,respectively)in multivariable models.Oligospermia was additionally associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH;P=0.003)in multivariable models.This study suggests that at-risk populations may benefit from additional early screening and workup for infertility.
文摘BACKGROUND Cardiovascular(CV)complications are common in intensive care unit(ICU)patients after gastrointestinal surgery and are associated with increased mortality and prolonged hospital stay.The optimization of postoperative nursing interventions,particularly pain management,is crucial for reducing such complications.AIM To investigate the effects of enhanced recovery nursing on CV complications after gastrointestinal surgery in ICU patients and associated risk factors.METHODS A retrospective analysis was conducted on 78 adult patients who underwent gastrointestinal surgery in the ICU of our hospital between February 2023 and September 2024.Among them,40 patients received standard care(control group),while 38 received enhanced recovery nursing(observation group).We compared the incidence of CV complications and nursing satisfaction between the two groups.Patients were divided into CV complication and non-complication groups based on complication occurrence,and logistic regression analysis was used to identify risk factors.RESULTS In the control and observation groups,the incidence of CV complications was 30.0%(12/40)and 18.4%(7/38),with a nursing satisfaction rate of 70.0%(28/40)and 92.1%(35/38),respectively.The postoperative pain score at 14 days was significantly lower in the observation group(0.27±0.15)compared to the control group(1.65±0.37),with all differences being statistically significant(P<0.05).Univariate analysis indicated significant differences in age,body mass index,hypertension,diabetes,smoking history,history of heart failure,and previous myocardial infarction(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression identified heart failure history,previous myocardial infarction,age,hypertension,and diabetes as independent risk factors,with odds ratios of 1.195,1.528,1.062,1.836,and 1.942,respectively(all P<0.05).CONCLUSION Implementing enhanced recovery nursing for ICU patients after gastrointestinal surgery is beneficial in reducing the incidence of CV complications and improving nursing satisfaction.

文摘The lipid mediator platelet-activating factor(PAF)and its receptor(PAFR)signaling play critical roles in a wide range of physiological and pathophysiological conditions,including cancer growth and metastasis.The ability of PAFR to interact with other oncogenic signaling cascades makes it a promising target for cancer treatment.Moreover,numerous natural and synthetic compounds,characterized by diverse pharmacological activities such as anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor effects,have been explored for their potential as PAF and PAFR antagonists.In this review,we provide comprehensive evidence regarding the PAF/PAFR signaling pathway,highlighting the effectiveness of various classes of PAF and PAFR inhibitors and antagonists across multiple cancer models.Notably,the synergistic effects of PAF and PAFR antagonists in enhancing the efficacy of chemotherapy and radiation therapy in several experimental cancer models are also discussed.Overall,the synthesis of literature review indicates that targeting the PAF/PAFR axis represents a promising approach for cancer treatment and also exerts synergy with chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
文摘The intersection of economic development,energy dynamics,environmental policy,and environmental sustainability presents complex challenges for European Union(EU)countries.This study investigatedthe impact of environmental taxes,hydroelectricity consumption,economic globalization,and gross domestic product(GDP)on the load capacity factor(LCF)in the 10 EU member countries(including Austria,Finland,France,Germany,Italy,Poland,Portugal,Slovakia,Spain,and Sweden)using data from 1995 to 2020.To ensure the reliability and validity of the data,this study applied several advanced econometric tests,including the Pesaran and Yamagata slopeheterogeneitytest,Pesaran cross-sectional dependence(CSD)test,second-generation unit root test,and Westerlund cointegration test.The data showed important statistical issues such as slope heterogeneityacross panels,CSD,mixed-orderunit root structures,and long-run associations between variables.To address these issues,we applied an augmented mean group(AMG)model as the main regression approach,andusedthe pooled mean group-autoregressive distributed lag(PMG-ARDL)method to check the robustness.Specifically,the AMG results indicate that a 1.000%rise in hydroelectricity consumptionresults in a 0.048% rise in the LCF,while a 1.000% increase in environmental taxes leads toa 0.175% increase in the LCF.Contrary to this,a 1.000% increase in economic globalization results in a 0.370% decrease in the LCF,and a 1.000% increase in GDP leads toa 0.850% decrease in the LCF.Environmental taxes have a more beneficial impact on the environment,and GDP has the most detrimental effect.The findings provide empirical evidence on the role of environmental taxes,hydroelectricity consumption,economic globalization,and GDP in driving the LCF.Additionally,the findings provide valuable information to policy-makers,academicians,and stakeholders shaping energy and environmental policies in the 10 EU member countries.
