Background With an increasing number of vehicles becoming autonomous,intelligent,and connected,paying attention to the future usage of car human-machine interface with these vehicles should become more relevant.Several studies have addressed car HMI but were less attentive to designing and implementing interactive glazing for every day(autonomous)driving contexts.Methods Reflecting on the literature,we describe an engineering psychology practice and the design of six novel future user scenarios,which envision the application of a specific set of augmented reality(AR)support user interactions.Additionally,we conduct evaluations on specific scenarios and experiential prototypes,which reveal that these AR scenarios aid the target user groups in experiencing a new type of interaction.The overall evaluation is positive with valuable assessment results and suggestions.Conclusions This study can interest applied psychology educators who aspire to teach how AR can be operationalized in a human-centered design process to students with minimal pre-existing expertise or minimal scientific knowledge in engineering psychology. 展开更多

According to the traditional design theory, the FBS design model pays more attention to the function and stru cture of the product. But this model still couldn’t strengthen the relation bet ween product appearance design and human-machine design effectively. This paper adopt converse design thinking and presents an improved design thinking methodo logy based on C: FBS for product appearance design and give a general summarizat ion for the features, methods and technology based on human-machine interaction and interface. Meanwhile it also combines with the behavior design of product r elated IT fields and constructs a new outline to improve the design of product a ppearance supported by the technology of computer aided design. So the new metho d about design thinking for computer aided design, the new abstract product design model and the key problem of design thinking based on human-machine inte raction and interface are addressed in this paper. This kind of creative design theory that is driven by human-machine interaction and interface will help the development of CAD software system and the research of product design and manufa cture. Additionally, this paper gives some beneficial characters to address the theory based on human-machine interaction and interface. Meanwhile, combining with the developing of computer technology, the trends of design thinking based on t he technology of human-machine interaction and interface are also analyzed and discussed at the end of this paper. 展开更多

Interactive learning tools can facilitate the learning process and increase student engagement,especially tools such as computer programs that are designed for human-computer interaction.Thus,this paper aims to help students learn five different methods for solving nonlinear equations using an interactive learning tool designed with common principles such as feedback,visibility,affordance,consistency,and constraints.It also compares these methods by the number of iterations and time required to display the result.This study helps students learn these methods using interactive learning tools instead of relying on traditional teaching methods.The tool is implemented using the MATLAB app and is evaluated through usability testing with two groups of users that are categorized by their level of experience with root-finding.Users with no knowledge in root-finding confirmed that they understood the root-finding concept when interacting with the designed tool.The positive results of the user evaluation showed that the tool can be recommended to other users. 展开更多

This paper describes the design and evaluation of a user interface for a remotely supervised autonomous agricultural sprayer. The interface was designed to help the remote supervisor to instruct the autonomous sprayer to commence operation, monitor the status of the sprayer and its operation in the field, and intervene when needed (i.e., to stop or shut down). Design principles and guidelines were carefully selected to help develop a human-centered automation interface. Evaluation of the interface using a combination of heuristic, cognitive walkthrough, and user testing techniques revealed several strengths of the design as well as areas that needed further improvement. Overall, this paper provides guidelines that will assist other researchers to develop an ergonomic user interface for a fully autonomous agricultural machine. 展开更多

Background In the demanding field of live news broadcasting,the intricate studio production procedures and tight schedules pose significant challenges for physical rehearsals by cameramen.This paper explores the design and implementation of a lightweight virtual news previsualization system,leveraging virtual production technology and interaction design methods to address the lack of fidelity in presentations and manipulations,and the quantitative feedback of rehearsal effects in previous virtual approaches.Methods Our system,Previs-Real,is informed by user investigation with professional cameramen and studio technicians,and adheres to principles of high fidelity,accurate replication of actual hardware operations,and real-time feedback on rehearsal results.The system's software and hardware development are implemented based on Unreal Engine and accompanying toolsets,incorporating cutting-edge modeling and camera calibration methods.Results We validated Previs-Real through a user study,demonstrating superior performance in previsualization shooting tasks using the virtual system compared to traditional camera setups.The findings,supported by both objective performance metrics and subjective responses,underline Previs-Real's effectiveness and potential in transforming news broadcasting rehearsals.Conclusions Previs-Real eliminates the requirement for complex equipment interconnections and team coordination inherent in a physical studio by implementing methodologies complying the above principles,objectively resulting in a lightweight design of applicable version of virtual news previsualization system.It offers a novel solution to the challenges in news studio previsualization by focusing on key operational features rather than full environment replication.This design approach is equally effective in the process of designing lightweight systems in other fields. 展开更多

The Learning management system(LMS)is now being used for uploading educational content in both distance and blended setups.LMS platform has two types of users:the educators who upload the content,and the students who have to access the content.The students,usually rely on text notes or books and video tutorials while their exams are conducted with formal methods.Formal assessments and examination criteria are ineffective with restricted learning space which makes the student tend only to read the educational contents and videos instead of interactive mode.The aim is to design an interactive LMS and examination video-based interface to cater the issues of educators and students.It is designed according to Human-computer interaction(HCI)principles to make the interactive User interface(UI)through User experience(UX).The interactive lectures in the form of annotated videos increase user engagement and improve the self-study context of users involved in LMS.The interface design defines how the design will interact with users and how the interface exchanges information.The findings show that interactive videos for LMS allow the users to have a more personalized learning experience by engaging in the educational content.The result shows a highly personalized learning experience due to the interactive video and quiz within the video. 展开更多

目的海上作业环境复杂多变,船只功能繁多冗余,传统操作系统重功能覆盖而忽视用户体验,导致交互效率低下,影响作业效果。本研究以某船用操控系统主界面的优化设计为切入点,探讨图标尺寸、图标间分割线及界面布局的合理性,旨在提升操作效... 目的海上作业环境复杂多变,船只功能繁多冗余,传统操作系统重功能覆盖而忽视用户体验,导致交互效率低下,影响作业效果。本研究以某船用操控系统主界面的优化设计为切入点,探讨图标尺寸、图标间分割线及界面布局的合理性,旨在提升操作效率和用户体验。方法采用眼动追踪技术结合生理指标和任务绩效评估,从瞳孔注视次数、注视时长、任务完成时间及正确率四个指标入手,使用量化实验方法,同时结合用户访谈与被试观察,对某船用操作系统界面的布局设计、图标分割线及图标尺寸展开系统评估。结果不同的界面布局会显著影响用户的使用体验;在图标之间添加分割线以明确交互边界,可以优化人机交互体验。就本系统所使用的物理设备而言,交互区域不宜紧贴界面边缘且当图标尺寸接近10 mm时,能够有效提升交互触控效率。结论提出的优化建议对提升包括船用操控系统在内的触控式界面的人机交互设计具有指导意义,丰富、完善了复杂环境下用户界面的人机交互设计理论。 展开更多

目的随着铁路智能化水平的不断提升,列车驾驶舱作为人机交互的关键节点,面临着日益复杂的人因设计挑战。现有研究主要集中在界面布局、信息显示、操作负荷控制等局部问题,缺乏对驾驶舱人因设计的整体性和系统性认识。因此,有必要构建系... 目的随着铁路智能化水平的不断提升,列车驾驶舱作为人机交互的关键节点,面临着日益复杂的人因设计挑战。现有研究主要集中在界面布局、信息显示、操作负荷控制等局部问题,缺乏对驾驶舱人因设计的整体性和系统性认识。因此,有必要构建系统性的驾驶舱人因设计研究框架,深入探讨当前的研究趋势与关键技术。方法采用系统化的文献聚类与主题分析方法,对相关领域的研究文献进行全面梳理和分析。结果从个体生理、物理环境、认知交互和系统协同4个层面构建了驾驶舱人因设计的研究框架,系统梳理了各层面的理论基础、关键技术及其典型应用场景。结论基于所构建的研究框架,识别出当前驾驶舱人因设计存在的主要问题,包括疲劳监测技术的局限性、物理环境控制的不足、认知交互的复杂性,以及系统协同的智能化程度偏低等。在此基础上,提出未来发展应聚焦于智能化升级、人性化优化和极端环境适应性提升3个主要方向,为相关研究和工程实践提供理论指导和技术路径。 展开更多

移动智能终端屏幕对青年群体视疲劳差异化影响的眼动实验研究

目的为制定合理用眼策略提供科学依据,同时为相关产品设计和使用建议提供数据支持。方法通过设计数字移动设备观看形式交互原型,模拟日常生活中青年群体用眼场景,招募10名(18-35)岁青年群体(视力或矫正视力均正常)参加眼动实验,观察被... 目的为制定合理用眼策略提供科学依据,同时为相关产品设计和使用建议提供数据支持。方法通过设计数字移动设备观看形式交互原型,模拟日常生活中青年群体用眼场景,招募10名(18-35)岁青年群体(视力或矫正视力均正常)参加眼动实验,观察被试瞳孔直径、眨眼次数、眨眼间隔等数值变化,经过数据处理和统计分析,验证同等条件下观看平板和观看手机屏幕对数字视疲劳的影响程度差异。结果(1)观看平板时前30 min瞳孔直径呈现振荡上升趋势,至30 min时骤降,30-45 min波动且基本保持数值较小状态;观看手机时瞳孔直径始终呈现振荡且数值较小状态;(2)观看手机比观看平板明显眨眼次数更多、间隔更小。结论在同等条件下,观看手机比观看平板信息内容更易引发视疲劳现象,在平时的生活场景中,应尽量选择使用平板作为观看数字信息的媒介,且持续观看30 min左右应让眼睛得到放松。 展开更多
