National Fire codes,mandated by government authorities to tackle technical challenges in fire prevention and control,establish fundamental standards for construction practices.International collaboration in fire prote...National Fire codes,mandated by government authorities to tackle technical challenges in fire prevention and control,establish fundamental standards for construction practices.International collaboration in fire protection technologies has opened avenues for China to access a wealth of documents and codes,which are crucial in crafting regulations and developing a robust,scientific framework for fire code formulation.However,the translation of these codes into Chinese has been inadequate,thereby diminishing the benefits of technological exchange and collaborative learning.This underscores the necessity for comprehensive research into code translation,striving for higher-quality translations guided by established translation theories.In this study,we translated the initial segment of the NFPA 1 Fire Code into Chinese and examined both the source text and target text through the lens of Translation Shift Theory,a concept introduced by Catford.The conclusion culminated in identifying four key shifts across various linguistic levels:lexis,sentences,and groups,to ensure an accurate and precise translation of fire codes.This study offers a through and lucid explanation of how the translator integrates Catford’s theories to solve technical challenges in NFPA 1 Fire Code translation,and establish essential standards for construction translation practices.展开更多

Fuzzy metagraphs describe the relationships between sets of fuzzy elements but not single fuzzy element and offer some distinct advantages both for visualization of systems, as well as for formal analysis of system structure. In rule based system, a fuzzy metagraph is a unity of the knowledge base and the reasoning engine. Based on the closure of the adjacency matrix of fuzzy metagraphs, this paper presented an optimized inferential mechanism working mainly by an off line approach. The detailed adsorption behaviors of single-stranded DNA( ssDNA) and double-stranded DNA( dsDNA) on the surface of graphene were discussed. The π-π stacking would contribute to the maximum average loading of ssDNA( 167 segments) with the adsorption potential distribution at the range of-6. 0 eV to-2. 1 eV,higher than that of dsDNA( 30 segments) with the adsorption energy distribution ranging from-3. 0 eV to- 0. 2 eV. Gradually shielding the base of ssDNA using hydrogen atom and gradually changing ssDNA into dsDNA through base-pairing were performed to further detect the detailed interaction between DNA and graphene. E B for * CGC,G* GC,GC* C,and GCG* is-15. 130,-15. 276,-15. 137,and- 15. 271 eV,respectively. E B for GCGC-CGCG / graphene,GCGC-CGC / graphene,GCGC-CG / graphene,GCGC-C / graphene,and GCGC / graphene is-14. 941,-14. 700,-14. 204,-15. 561,and- 15. 810 eV,respectively. DOS of the adsorbed ssDNA down shifted 1. 885 eV,which becomes more stable and less reactive than the other cases. Further,oxidation reaction shows that graphene protects ssDNA from breaking by active oxide. Considering the power cost incurred by the computation, communic...A novel dynamic software allocation algorithm suitable for pervasive computing environments is proposed to minimize power consumption of mobile devices. Considering the power cost incurred by the computation, communication and migration of software components, a power consumption model of component assignments between a mobile device and a server is set up. Also, the mobility of components and the mobility relationships between components are taken into account in software allocation. By using network flow theory, the optimization problem of power conservation is transformed into the optimal bipartition problem of a flow network which can be partitioned by the max-flow rain-cut algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can save si^nificantlv more energy than existing algorithms.展开更多
