This paper aims to carry out a comprehensive performarice comparison between the new emerged DE algorithm and the most popular algorithm-the genetic algorithm (GA). A total of six benchmark WDS case studies were used with the number of decision variables ranging from 8 to 454. A preliminary sensitivity analysis was performed to select the most effective parameter values for both algorithms to enable the fair comparison. It is observed from the results that the DE algorithm consistently outperforms the GA in terms of both efficiency and the solution quality for each case study. Additionally, the DE algorithm was also compared with the previously published optimization algorithms based on the results for those six case studies, indicating that the DE exhibits comparable performance with other algorithms. It can be concluded that the DE is a newly promising optimization algorithm in the design of WDSs.展开更多

The designed controller, which is based on the human-simulated intelligent control (HSIC) method, builds up different control modes to monitor and control the CDPS during four kinetic phases consisting of an initial oscillation phase, a swing-up phase, a posture adjustment phase, and a balance control phase. For the approach, the original method of inequalities-based (MoI) multiobjective genetic algorithm (MMGA) is extended and applied to the case study which uses a set of performance indices that includes the cart displacement over the rail boundary, the number of swings, the settling time, the overshoot of the total energy, and the control effort. Firstly, the global optimal model and constraints are created to demonstrate the static task scheduling problem in heterogeneous distributed computing systems(HeDCSs). Secondly, the genetic population is coded with matrix and used to search the total available time span of the processors, and then the simulated annealing algorithm is introduced to improve the convergence speed and overcome the problem of easily falling into local minimum point, which exists in the traditional genetic algorithm. Finally, compared to other existed scheduling algorithms such as dynamic level scheduling ( DLS), heterogeneous earliest finish time (HEFr), and longest dynamic critical path( LDCP), the proposed approach does not merely de- crease tasks schedule length, but also achieves the maximal resource utilization of parallel computa- tion system by extensive experiments.展开更多

To enhance the real-time performance and computational efficiency of Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) in path planning, the AGA incorporates an Equal-Size Clustering Algorithm (ESCA) based on the K-means clustering method. The ESCA divides the primary task evenly into a series of subtasks, thereby reducing the gene length in the subsequent GA process. The algorithm then employs GA to solve each subtask sequentially. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, a simulation program was designed to perform path planning for 100 trajectories, and the results were compared with those of State-Of-The-Art (SOTA) methods. The simulation results demonstrate that, although the solutions provided by AGA are suboptimal, it exhibits significant advantages in terms of execution speed and solution stability compared to other algorithms.展开更多

This work proposes a mathematical model to optimize bus service by minimizing total cost and considering a temporally and directionally variable demand. An integrated bus service, consisting of all-stop and stop-skipping services is proposed and optimized subject to directional frequency conservation, capacity and operable fleet size constraints. Since the research problem is a combinatorial optimization problem, a genetic algorithm is developed to search for the optimal result in a large solution space. This study aims to find the optimum input setting for a double inverted pendulum(DIP), which requires an appropriate input to be able to stand and to achieve robust stability even when the system model is unknown. Such a DIP input could be widely applied in engineering fields for optimizing unknown systems with a limited budget. Previous studies have used various mathematical approaches to optimize settings for DIP, then have designed control algorithms or physical mathematical models. This study did not adopt a mathematical approach for the DIP controller because our DIP has five input parameters within its nondeterministic system model. This paper proposes a novel algorithm, named Uni Neuro, that integrates neural networks(NNs) and a uniform design(UD) in a model formed by input and response to the experimental data(metamodel). We employed a hybrid UD multiobjective genetic algorithm(HUDMOGA) for obtaining the optimized setting input parameters. The UD was also embedded in the HUDMOGA for enriching the solution set, whereas each chromosome used for crossover, mutation, and generation of the UD was determined through a selection procedure and derived individually. Subsequently, we combined the Euclidean distance and Pareto front to improve the performance of the algorithm. Finally, DIP equipment was used to confirm the settings. The proposed algorithm can produce 9 alternative configured input parameter values to swing-up then standing in robust stability of the DIP from only 25 training data items and 20 optimized simulation results. In comparison to the full factorial design, this design can save considerable experiment time because the metamodel can be formed by only 25 experiments using the UD. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm can be applied to nonlinear systems with multiple constraints.展开更多

文摘We developed and tested an improved neural network to predict the average concentration of PM10(particulate matter with diameter smaller than 10 ?m) several hours in advance in summer in Beijing.A genetic algorithm optimization procedure for optimizing initial weights and thresholds of the neural network was also evaluated. This research was based upon the PM10 data from seven monitoring sites in Beijing urban region and meteorological observation data, which were recorded every 3 h during summer of 2002.Two neural network models were developed.Model I was built for predicting PM10 concentrations 3 h in advance while Model II for one day in advance. The predictions of both models were found to be consistent with observations.Percent errors in forecasting the numerical value were about 20.This brings us to the conclusion that short-term fluctuations of PM10 concentrations in Beijing urban region in summer are to a large extent driven by meteorological conditions. Moreover, the predicted results of Model II were compared with the ones provided by the Models-3 Community Multiscale Air Quality(CMAQ) modeling system. The mean relative errors of both models were 0.21 and 0.26,respectively.The performance of the neural network model was similar to numerical models, when applied to short-time prediction of PM10 concentration.

文摘An inverted pendulum is a sensitive system of highly coupled parameters, in laboratories, it is popular for modelling nonlinear systems such as mechanisms and control systems, and also for optimizing programmes before those programmes are applied in real situations. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm can be applied to nonlinear systems with multiple constraints.
文摘The increase in bridge structure span and the complex stress characteristics directly affect the optimization of sensor placement, which in turn influences the data acquisition performance of the monitoring system. The key to the information acquisition of a bridge monitoring system is to obtain data that meets the health monitoring requirements of the bridge with a limited number of measurement points. To address this,a hybrid method based on multiple optimization criteria is proposed for optimal sensor placement(OSP).First, the minimum number of modes required for bridge monitoring is determined using the information entropy criterion(IE).Then, the number of measurement points is determined using a sequence method combined with the modal assurance criterion(MAC).Finally, the sensor placement is optimized using the generalized genetic algorithm(GGA)combined with double-structure encoding, and the optimization results are validated through finite element model analysis. The research results show that the hybrid method based on multiple optimization criteria can effectively determine the number of measurement points for bridge structures and optimize sensor placement, with a significant improvement in computational speed.

文摘Project construction and development are an impor-tant part of future army designs. In today’s world, intelligent war-fare and joint operations have become the dominant develop-ments in warfare,so the construction and development of the army need top-down,top-level design, and comprehensive plan-ning.The traditional project development model is no longer suf-ficient to meet the army’s complex capability requirements.Projects in various fields need to be developed and coordinated to form a joint force and improve the army’s combat effective-ness.At the same time, when a program consists of large-scale project data, the effectiveness of the traditional, precise mathe-matical planning method is greatly reduced because it is time-consuming,costly,and impractical. To solve above problems, this paper proposes a multi-stage program optimization model based on a heterogeneous network and hybrid genetic algo-rithm and verifies the effectiveness and feasibility of the model and algorithm through an example. The results show that the hybrid algorithm proposed in this paper is better than the exist-ing meta-heuristic algorithm.

文摘Radio antenna arrays have many advantages for astronomical observations, such as high resolution, high sensitivity,multi-target simultaneous observation, and flexible beam formation.Problems surrounding key indices, such as sensitivity enhancement, scanning range extension, and sidelobe level suppression, need to be solved urgently. Here,we propose a sparse optimization scheme based on a genetic algorithm for a 64-array element planar radio antenna array. As optimization targets for the iterative process of the genetic algorithm,we use the maximum sidelobe levels and beamwidth of multiple cross-section patterns that pass through the main beam in three-dimensions,with the maximum sidelobe levels of the patterns at several different scanning angles.Element positions are adjusted for iterations,to select the optimal array configuration.Following sparse layout optimization, the simulated 64-element planar radio antenna array shows that the maximum sidelobe level decreases by 1.79 dB,and the beamwidth narrows by 3°.Within the scan range of±30°,after sparse array optimization, all sidelobe levels decrease, and all beamwidths narrow. This performance improvement can potentially enhance the sensitivity and spatial resolution of radio telescope systems.
