It is not a constant function in general and we study the regularity of this function. We use this function to provide an accurate characterization of the height of the geodesic defining function for the AH manifold with a given boundary metric. Furthermore, it is shown that such functions are uniformly bounded from below at infinity and the bound only depends on the dimension. In the end, we apply this function to study the capacity of balls in AH manifolds and demonstrate that the “relative p—capacity function” coincides with the relative volume function under appropriate curvature conditions.展开更多

Influencing factors were analyzed, and correlation analyses wereperformed.RESULTSA total of 483 elderly cancer patients successfully completed the study. The prevalence of LS and StD amongparticipants was 56.5% and 38.7%, respectively. Logistic regression analysis identified age, tumor metastasis, exercise habits, and the presence of StD as significant risk factors for LS in elderly cancer patients. Additionally, having three or more chronic diseases and LS were significant predictors for developing StD. Spearman’s correlationanalysis revealed a significant positive correlation between LS and StD (r = 0.424, P < 0.001).CONCLUSIONElderly cancer patients exhibit a high prevalence of LS and StD, conditions which are positively correlated andmutually influential. Thus, it is critical to monitor and address pre-depressive states while evaluating and managingmotor function in this population.展开更多

文摘Zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs)are inexpensive and safe, but side reactions on the Zn anode and Zn dendrite growth hinder their practical applications. In this study,1,3,5-triformylphloroglycerol(Tp)and various diamine monomers(p-phenylenediamine(Pa),benzidine(BD),and 4,4"-diamino-p-terphenyl(DATP))were used to synthesize a series of two-dimensional covalent-organic frameworks(COFs).The resulting COFs were named TpPa,TpBD,and TpDATP,respectively, and they showed uniform zincophilic sites, different pore sizes, and high Young's moduli on the Zn anode.Among them,TpPa and TpBD showed lower surface work functions and higher ion transfer numbers, which were conducive to uniform galvanizing/stripping zinc and inhibited dendrite growth.Theoretical calculations showed that TpPa and TpBD had wider negative potential region and greater adsorption capacity for Zn2+than TpDATP,providing more electron donor sites to coordinate with Zn^(2+).Symmetric cells protected by TpPa and TpBD stably cycled for more than 2300 h,whereas TpDATP@Zn and the bare zinc symmetric cells failed after around 150 and200 h.The full cells containing TpPa and TpBD modification layers also showed excellent cycling capacity at 1 A/g.This study provides comprehensive insights into the construction of highly reversible Zn anodes via COF modification layers for advanced rechargeable ZIBs.

文摘BACKGROUND The deleterious effects of surgical trauma and subsequent postoperative complications pose significant challenges to the smooth recovery of patients after gastric cancer(GC)resection despite the substantial curative benefits provided by surgical interventions for GC.Hence, the investigation of more optimal and efficacious treatment approaches has become an urgent necessity in the medical community.AIM To investigate the association of Sijunzi decoction plus chemotherapy with the gastrointestinal function and serum markers of patients after GC surgery.METHODS This study included patients who underwent GC surgery from June 2022 to February 2024.The control group included 45 patients who received chemotherapy(oxaliplatin+calcium folinate+5-fluorouracil),whereas the research group consisted of 54 patients who received Sijunzi decoction therapy in addition to the treatment administered in the control group.Comparative analyses were conducted from the following perspectives:Gastrointestinal function(defecation time, intestinal gas discharge time, and hospitalization time),serum markers[carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA),carbohydrate antigen(CA)125,and CA199],nutritional indicators total protein(TP)and transferrin(TRF),traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome score, and grades Ⅲ–Ⅳ adverse events(gastrointestinal reactions,renal/liver function impairment, and myelosuppression).RESULTS The two groups demonstrated similar defecation time(P>0.05),but the intestinal gas discharge time and hospitalization time were significantly shortened in the research group(P<0.05).Further,the research group exhibited significant CEA,CA125,and CA199 reductions after treatment, which were lower compared to the control group,as well as notable increases in TP and TRF that were statistically higher than the control group(all P<0.05).Furthermore,the research group demonstrated an evident decrease in TCM syndrome scores in areas, such as poor appetite, epigastric distension and pain, fatigue and weakness(P<0.01),and abdominal distension after eating, which are notably lower than those in the control group(P<0.01),with a comparable incidence of grades Ⅲ-Ⅳ adverse events(P>0.05).CONCLUSION Our research results indicate that Sijunzi decoction plus chemotherapy exerts a good rehabilitation-promoting effect on gastrointestinal function in patients after GC surgery and significantly downregulates abnormally increased CEA,CA125,and CA199 levels.
文摘This article explored the application of dexmedetomidine(Dex),a highly selective alpha-2 agonist,in managing postoperative cognitive dysfunction(POCD)in elderly patients undergoing radical colon cancer surgery.Aging is associated with a progressive decline in physiological functions and an increased risk of adverse surgical outcomes, including POCD,which encompasses many neurocognitive disorders that manifest during the perioperative period. The aging population is at a higher risk for POCD,which can lead to prolonged hospital stays, delayed recovery, and increased healthcare costs.Dex has neuroprotective,opioid-sparing,and sympatholytic properties, which reduces the incidence and severity of POCD.Dex was introduced for sedation in patients receiving mechanical ventilation but has since been adopted in anesthesia due to its multifaceted benefits. Its appli-cation extends to sedation, analgesia, maintenance of anesthesia, and controlling delirium. Its neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects have been explored in managing POCD.This article discussed the broad range of patient and procedure-related risk factors for POCD.Early identification and intervention are crucial to prevent the progression of POCD,which can have severe physical, psychological, and economic consequences. The article underscored the importance of a mul-tidisciplinary approach in managing POCD,involving the optimization of comor-bidities,depth of anesthesia monitoring, hemodynamic stability, and cerebral oxygenation monitoring.

文摘The current study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Compound Danshen Dripping Pills(CDDP)in improving cardiac function in patients with acute anterior ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction(AAMI).Between February 2021 and February 2023,247 eligible patients with AAMI after primary percutaneous coronary intervention were enrolled and randomly assigned(1∶1)to receive CDDP(n=126)or placebo(n=121),with a follow-up of 48 weeks.Compared with the placebo group, the CDDP group demonstrated a significant increase in left ventricular ejection fraction values after 24 weeks of treatment(least squares mean:3.31;95%confidence interval[CI]:1.72–4.90;P<0.001)and at the 48-week follow-up(least squares mean:4.35;95%CI:2.76–5.94;P<0.001).Significant reductions in N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide levels were observed in both groups at the 24-and 48-week visits with no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.1 for all). The incidence of major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events was 6.35%in the CDDP group and 5.79%in the placebo group(P=0.822).Notably,no serious adverse events were attributed to CDDP.These findings suggest that CDDP may be well tolerated and could improve left ventricular ejection fraction in patients with AAMI at 24 and 48 weeks.
文摘Objective Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)has demonstrated efficacy in enhancing neurocognitive performance in Alzheimer’s disease(AD),but the neurobiological mechanisms linking synaptic pathology, neural oscillatory dynamics, and brain network reorganization remain unclear. This investigation seeks to systematically evaluate the therapeutic potential of rTMS as a non-invasive neuromodulatory intervention through a multimodal framework integrating clinical assessments, molecular profiling, and neurophysiological monitoring. Methods In this prospective double-blind trial,12 AD patients underwent a 14-day protocol of 20 Hz rTMS,with comprehensive multimodal assessments performed pre-and postintervention.Cognitive functioning was quantified using the mini-mental state examination(MMSE)and Montreal cognitive assessment(MOCA),while daily living capacities and neuropsychiatric profiles were respectively evaluated through the activities of daily living(ADL)scale and combined neuropsychiatric inventory(NPI)-Hamilton depression rating scale(HAMD).Peripheral blood biomarkers, specifically Aβ1-40 and phosphorylated tau(p-tau181),were analyzed to investigate the effects of rTMS on molecular metabolism.Spectral power analysis was employed to investigate rTMS-induced modulations of neural rhythms in AD patients, while brain network analyses incorporating topological properties were conducted to examine stimulus-driven network reorganization.Furthermore, systematic assessment of correlations between cognitive scale scores, blood biomarkers, and network characteristics was performed to elucidate cross-modal therapeutic associations. Results Clinically,MMSE and MOCA scores improved significantly(P<0.05).Biomarker showed that Aβ1-40 level increased(P<0.05),contrasting with p-tau181 reduction. Moreover, the levels of Aβ1-40 were positively correlated with MMSE and MOCA scores.Post-intervention analyses revealed significant modulations in oscillatory power, characterized by pronounced reductions in delta(P<0.05)and theta bands(P<0.05),while concurrent enhancements were observed in alpha, beta, and gamma band activities(all P<0.05).Network analysis revealed frequency-specific reorganization:clustering coefficients were significantly decreased in delta, theta, and alpha bands(P<0.05),while global efficiency improvement was exclusively detected in the delta band(P<0.05).The alpha band demonstrated concurrent increases in average nodal degree(P<0.05)and characteristic path length reduction(P<0.05).Further research findings indicate that the changes in the clinical scale HAMD scores before and after rTMS stimulation are negatively correlated with the changes in the blood biomarkers Aβ1-40 and p-tau181.Additionally,the changes in the clinical scales MMSE and MoCA scores were negatively correlated with the changes in the node degree of the alpha frequency band and negatively correlated with the clustering coefficient of the delta frequency band. However, the changes in MMSE scores are positively correlated with the changes in global efficiency of both the delta and alpha frequency bands. Conclusion 20 Hz rTMS targeting dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(DLPFC)significantly improves cognitive function and enhances the metabolic clearance ofβ-amyloid and tau proteins in AD patients. This neurotherapeutic effect is mechanistically associated with rTMS-mediated frequency-selective neuromodulation, which enhances the connectivity of oscillatory networks through improved neuronal synchronization and optimized topological organization of functional brain networks. These findings not only support the efficacy of rTMS as an adjunctive therapy for AD but also underscore the importance of employing multiple assessment methods—including clinical scales, blood biomarkers, and EEG——in understanding and monitoring the progression of AD.This research provides a significant theoretical foundation and empirical evidence for further exploration of rTMS applications in AD treatment.
文摘Objective:To evaluate the effect of task-oriented training combined with a lower limb rehabilitation robot on improving motor function and ankle joint function in stroke patients with hemiplegia.Methods:Sixty-three stroke patients with hemiplegia admitted to our hospital from January 2022 to June 2024 were randomly divided into observation group(32 cases)and control group(31 cases)using the envelope method. The control group received task-oriented training, while the observation group received additional lower limb rehabilitation robot training. The motor function(Fugl-Meyer Assessment of Lower Extremity,FMA-LE)and ankle joint function(Active Dorsiflexion Range of Motion,DF AROM)were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the levels of FMA-LE and DF AROM in both groups increased significantly, and the improvement in each index in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of task-oriented training and lower limb rehabilitation robot training can more effectively improve the overall motor function of the lower limbs and the active dorsiflexion ability of the ankle joint in stroke patients with hemiplegia.

文摘In this study,an improved integrated radial basis function with nonuniform shape parameter is introduced. The proposed shape parameter varies in each support domain and is defined byθ=1/d_(max),where d_(max)is the maximum distance of any pair of nodes in the support domain. The proposed method is verified and shows good performance. The results are stable and accurate with any number of nodes and an arbitrary nodal distribution.Notably, the support domain should be large enough to obtain accurate results. This method is then applied for transient analysis of curved shell structures made from functionally graded materials with complex geometries.Through several numerical examples, the accuracy of the proposed approach is demonstrated and discussed.Additionally, the influence of various factors on the dynamic behavior of the structures, including the power-law index, different materials, loading conditions, and geometrical parameters of the structures, was investigated.

文摘Thrombin blockers have been shown to be effective for various pathological conditions, but their use is limited due to the potential for serious bleeding adverse effects. This study introduced a novel bioactive peptide(P-2-CG) from oyster, that mitigated thrombin-mediated barrier dysfunction and prothrombotic phenotypes in human pulmonary microvascular endothelial cells(HPMECs).P-2-CG significantly attenuated the increase in endothelial monolayer permeability induced by thrombin through the possible attenuation of RhoA activation and it promoted barrier recovery by enhancing endothelial cell adhesion.Additionally,P-2-CG was found to decrease the pro-thrombotic phenotype induced by thrombin in HPMEC by reducing the extrinsic trigger tissue factor mRNA expression, which resulted in prolonged plasma clotting time, decreased Factor Xa activation, and reduced thrombin generation.Moreover,P-2-CG inhibited thrombosis efficiently by blocking intercellular adhesion molecule 1 and vascular cell adhesion protein 1 expression via tyrosine phosphorylation of nuclear factor-κB p65.P-2-CG inhibits thrombin mediated inflammation and provides a potential therapeutic option for treating endothelial dysfunction and thrombosis.
文摘Following the work of Li-Shi-Qing, we propose the definition of the relative volume function for an AH manifold. In the end, we apply this function to study the capacity of balls in AH manifolds and demonstrate that the “relative p—capacity function” coincides with the relative volume function under appropriate curvature conditions.
文摘Penile fracture is a rare urological emergency that may cause erectile dysfunction(ED).We analyzed the factors affecting erectile function in patients who underwent surgical repair for the management of penile fractures.Eighty-two patients who underwent penile fracture surgery in the Department of Urology,University of Gaziantep(Gaziantep,Türkiye)between January 2012 and January 2023 were evaluated.Age,body mass index, time elapsed from the incident of penile fracture to surgery, size, laterality, level of the defect, causes of fracture, presenting signs and symptoms, and relevant complications were recorded.Erectile function of the patients was evaluated preoperatively and at postoperative 3rd and 6th months according to the International Index of Erectile Function-5(IIEF-5)scoring system. The factors decreasing the erection quality of the patients after surgical repair of penile fractures were investigated using IIEF-5 scoring system.Only age, defect size, and time elapsed from fracture onset to surgery were found to be effective on the occurrence of ED(P=0.005,P<0.001,and P<0.001,respectively).In the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)analysis, the cut-off values were 12.5 mm for defect size(P<0.001),8.5 h for the time elapsed from fracture onset to surgery(P=0.036),and 40.5 years for the age of the patients(P=0.005).Delayed surgery, defect size, and advanced age had significant and negative effects on erectile function in cases of penile fracture. Before repair of the defect, patients should be given appropriate counseling about the possibility of ED,and early penile rehabilitation should be initiated.

文摘Background Reproductive efficiency in goats is closely linked to the healthy development of follicles, with the proliferation of ovarian granulosa cells(GCs)playing a crucial role in this process.Sirtuin 3(SIRT3),an enzyme that catalyzes post-translational modifications(PTMs)of proteins,is known to regulate a variety of mitochondrial metabolic pathways, thereby affecting cell fate. However, the specific effect of SIRT3 on the follicular development process remains unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the regulatory role of SIRT3 in the mitochondrial function and proliferation of goat GCs,as well as the underlying mechanisms involved. Results In this study,GCs from small follicles in goat ovaries presented increased proliferative potential and elevated SIRT3 expression levels compared with those from large follicles. In vitro,SIRT3 overexpression enhanced mitochondrial function, promoted proliferation and inhibited apoptosis in GCs.Correspondingly, the inhibition of SIRT3 led to the opposite effects.Notably,SIRT3 interacted with carnitine palmitoyl transferase 2(CPT2)and stabilized the CPT2 protein by mediating delactylation, which prolonged the half-life of CPT2 and prevented its degradation.Further investigation revealed that CPT2 overexpression enhanced fatty acidβ-oxidation and mitochondrial function in GCs.Additionally,CPT2 promoted the proliferation of GCs by increasing the protein levels ofβ-catenin and its downstream target, cyclin D1(CCND1).However,this effect was reversed by 3-TYP(a SIRT3 inhibitor). Conclusions SIRT3 stabilizes CPT2 protein expression through delactylation, thereby enhancing mitochondrial function and the proliferative capacity of GCs in goats. This study provides novel insights into the molecular mechanisms and regulatory pathways involved in mammalian follicular development.

文摘BACKGROUND Studies have shown that locomotive syndrome(LS)is significantly correlated with adverse outcomes, such as decreased self-care abilities, fractures, and increased mortality.Subthreshold depression(StD)is considered an independent predictor of clinical depression, regarded as its prodromal stage, and even linked to increased mortality risk.Limited research has addressed the prevalence and relationship between LS and StD in elderly cancer patients.Understanding the prevalence of LS and StD among elderly cancer patients and elucidating their relationship will provide evidence to support the development of targeted interventions, thereby improving health outcomes in this population.AIM To investigate the relationship between musculoskeletal system function and predepressive states in elderly cancer patients.METHODS A convenience sampling method was employed to recruit 500 elderly cancer patients undergoing follow-up visits at the Department of Oncology,Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University, from April 2024 to December 2024.Participants completed the general information questionnaire, the 25-question Geriatric Locomotive Function Scale, and theGeriatric Depression Scale-Short Form-15. Thus, it is critical to monitor and address pre-depressive states while evaluating and managingmotor function in this population.

文摘The Husimi function(Q-function)of a quantum state is the distribution function of the density operator in the coherent state representation. It is widely used in theoretical research, such as in quantum optics. The Wehrl entropy is the Shannon entropy of the Husimi function, and is nonzero even for pure states. This entropy has been extensively studied in mathematical physics.Recent research also suggests a significant connection between the Wehrl entropy and manybody quantum entanglement in spin systems. We investigate the statistical interpretation of the Husimi function and the Wehrl entropy, taking the system of N spin-1/2 particles as an example.Due to the completeness of coherent states, the Husimi function and Wehrl entropy can be explained via the positive operator-valued measurement(POVM)theory, although the coherent states are not a set of orthonormal basis. Here, with the help of the Bayes’theorem,we provide an alternative probabilistic interpretation for the Husimi function and the Wehrl entropy. This interpretation is based on direct measurements of the system, and thus does not require the introduction of an ancillary system as in the POVM theory. Moreover, under this interpretation the classical correspondences of the Husimi function and the Wehrl entropy are just phase-space probability distribution function of N classical tops, and its associated entropy, respectively. Therefore, this explanation contributes to a better understanding of the relationship between the Husimi function,Wehrl entropy, and classical-quantum correspondence. The generalization of this statistical interpretation to continuous-variable systems is also discussed.
文摘Objective:To investigate the effect of 12-lead electrocardiogram and 24-hour dynamic electrocardiogram in detecting pacemaker dysfunction and changes in cardiac function indexes in patients with pacemaker implantation. Methods:A total of 136 patients with pacemaker implantation in the First Clinical Medical College of Three Gorges University,Institute of Cardiovascular Disease of Three Gorges University and Yicang Central People’s Hospital from January 2023 to December 2024 were selected as the research objects. All patients received 12-lead electrocardiogram and 24-hour holter 3–14 days after implantation. Results:The overall detection rate of various types of pacemaker dysfunction by Holter was significantly higher than that by conventional ECG(27.21%vs.5.15%,χ^(2)=24.402,P<0.001).The overall arrhythmia detection rate of Holter was significantly higher than that of conventional electrocardiogram(57.35%vs.10.29%,χ^(2)=67.277,P<0.001).The time domain indexes of heart rate variability obtained by 24-hour continuous monitoring of Holter were significantly improved compared with those of conventional electrocardiogram(P<0.05).Conclusions:Compared with 12-lead electrocardiogram,24-hour holter monitoring can more accurately detect pacemaker dysfunction and arrhythmia in patients with pacemaker implantation, and provide more comprehensive data of heart rate variability, which is helpful for clinicians to better evaluate the cardiac function of patients and adjust treatment plans.

文摘Background:Although widely used, the rat model remains poorly transferable to humans for peripheral nerve regeneration studies. The rabbit is a much better choice from an anatomical perspective. However,it remains little used due to the lack of available literature. The aim of this article is to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of an electrophysiological protocol combined with a motor function assessment to analyze nerve repair. Methods:Ten white New Zealand rabbits underwent a 4 cm transection of the fibular nerve.Autograft regeneration over 36 weeks was compared to non-repaired controls. The compound muscle action potential(CMAP)was recorded in the tibialis anterior and the extensor digitorum brevis. An electromyogram(EMG)was obtained after needle insertion and resting muscle activity recording. The electrophysiological results were compared to the toe spread index(TSI),which assesses the motor functional recovery promoted by fibular nerve regeneration. Results:The autograft group regeneration starts between weeks 18 and 21 and normal EMG was observed around the 30th week. These electrophysiological results were compared to the well-defined toe spread reflex. This motor test showed a significant functional return of 59%at 36 weeks(p<0.05).Rabbits regain nearly 80%of their muscle mass. Conclusion:Nerve conduction allows detection of nerve regeneration of the muscle while electromyography indicates when muscle activity returns to normal. These studies are reliable and non-invasive techniques to evaluate fibular nerve regeneration in the rabbit's hindlimb.Nonetheless,it is necessary to have qualified personnel, since inter-manipulator variations have been observed.
