In this paper,a linear optimization method(LOM)for the design of terahertz circuits is presented,aimed at enhancing the simulation efficacy and reducing the time of the circuit design workflow.This method enables the rapid determination of optimal embedding impedance for diodes across a specific bandwidth to achieve maximum efficiency through harmonic balance simulations.By optimizing the linear matching circuit with the optimal embedding impedance,the method effectively segregates the simulation of the linear segments from the nonlinear segments in the frequency multiplier circuit,substantially improving the speed of simulations.The design of on-chip linear matching circuits adopts a modular circuit design strategy,incorporating fixed load resistors to simplify the matching challenge.Utilizing this approach,a 340 GHz frequency doubler was developed and measured.The results demonstrate that,across a bandwidth of 330 GHz to 342 GHz,the efficiency of the doubler remains above 10%,with an input power ranging from 98 mW to 141mW and an output power exceeding 13 mW.Notably,at an input power of 141 mW,a peak output power of 21.8 mW was achieved at 334 GHz,corresponding to an efficiency of 15.8%. 展开更多

A stochastic energy finite element method for predicting the high-frequency dynamic response of panels under aero-thermo-acoustic loads

Skin panels on supersonic vehicles are subjected to aero-thermo-acoustic loads,resulting in a well-known multi-physics dynamic problem.The high-frequency dynamic response of these panels significantly impacts the structural safety of supersonic vehicles,but it has been rarely investigated.Given that existing methods are inefficient for high-frequency dynamic analysis in multi-physics fields,the present work addresses this challenge by proposing a Stochastic Energy Finite Element Method(SEFEM).SEFEM uses energy density instead of displacement to describe the dynamic response,thereby significantly enhancing its efficiency.In SEFEM,the effects of aerodynamic and thermal loads on the energy propagation characteristics are studied analytically and incorporated into the energy density governing equation.These effects are also considered when calculating the input power generated by the acoustic load,and two effective approaches named Frequency Response Function Method(FRFM)and Mechanical Impedance Method(MIM)are developed accordingly and integrated into SEFEM.The good accuracy,applicability,and high efficiency of the proposed SEFEM are demonstrated through numerical simulations performed on a two-dimensional panel under aero-thermoacoustic loads.Additionally,the effects and underlying mechanisms of aero-thermo-acoustic loads on the high-frequency response are explored.This work not only presents an efficient approach for predicting high-frequency dynamic response of panels subjected to aero-thermo-acoustic loads,but also provides insights into the high-frequency dynamic characteristics in multi-physics fields. 展开更多

In mineral exploration, the apparent resistivity and apparent frequency (or apparent polarizability) parameters of induced polarization method are commonly utilized to describe the induced polarization anomaly. When the target geology structure is significantly complicated, these parameters would fail to reflect the nature of the anomaly source, and wrong conclusions may be obtained. A wavelet approach and a metal factor method were used to comprehensively interpret the induced polarization anomaly of complex geologic bodies in the Adi Bladia mine. Db5 wavelet basis was used to conduct two-scale decomposition and reconstruction, which effectively suppress the noise interference of greenschist facies regional metamorphism and magma intrusion, making energy concentrated and boundary problem unobservable. On the basis of that, the ore-induced anomaly was effectively extracted by the metal factor method. 展开更多

Based on the optimal steep descent methods, we present an algorithm which combines the preconditioned bi-conjugated gradient stable method and the multi-grid method to compute the wave propagation and the gradient space. The multiple scale prosperity of the waveform inversion and the multi-grid method can overcome the inverse problems local minima defect and accelerate convergence. The local inhomogeneous three-hole model simulated results and the Marmousi model certify the algorithm effectiveness. 展开更多

This research focuses on the lightweight topology optimization method for structures under the premise of meeting the requirements of stability and vibration characteristics. A new topology optimization model with the constraints of natural frequencies and critical buckling loads and the objective of minimizing the structural volume is established and solved based on the independent continuous mapping method. The eigenvalue equations and composite exponential filter functions are applied to convert the optimization formulation into a continuous, solvable mathematical programming model. In the process of topology optimization, suitable initial values of the filter functions are chosen to avoid local modes, and the dynamic frequency gap constraints are added in the optimal model to prevent mode switches. Furthermore, for the optimal structures with grey elements obtained by the continuous optimization model, the bisection-inverse iteration is applied to search the optimal discrete structures. Finally, a detailed scheme is given for the buckling and frequency topology optimization problem. Numerical examples illustrate that the modelling method of minimizing the economic index with given performance requirements is practical and feasible for multi-performance topology optimization problems. 展开更多

It is an important topic to improve the redundancy of optimized configuration to resist the local failure in topology optimization of continuum structures.Such a fail-safe topology optimization problem has been solved effectively in the ficld of statics.In this paper,the fail-safe topology optimization problem is extended to the field of frequency topology optimization.Based on the independent continuous mapping(ICM)method,the model of fail-safe topology optimization is established with the objective of minimal weight integrating with the discrete condition of topological variables and the constraint of the fundamental frequency.The fail-safe optimization model established above is substituted by a sequence of subproblems in the form of the quadratic program with exact second-order information and solved efficiently by the dual sequence quadratic programming(DSQP)algorithm.The numerical result reveals that the optimized fail-safe structure has more complex configuration and preserved materials than the structure obtained from the traditional frequency topology optimization,which means that the optimized fail-safe structure has higher redundancy.Moreover,the optimized fail-safe structure guarantees that the natural frequency meets the constraint of fundamental frequency when the local failure ocurs,which can avoid the structural frequency to be sensitive to local failure.The fail-safe optimirzation topology model is proved effective and feasible by four numerical examples. 展开更多

Structural strain modes are able to detect changes in local structural performance, but errors are inevitably intermixed in the measured data. In this paper, strain modal parameters are considered as random variables, and their uncertainty is analyzed by a Bayesian method based on the structural frequency response function (FRF). The estimates of strain modal parameters with maximal posterior probability are determined. Several independent measurements of the FRF of a four-story reinforced concrete flame structural model were performed in the laboratory. The ability to identify the stiffness change in a concrete column using the strain mode was verified. It is shown that the uncertainty of the natural frequency is very small. Compared with the displacement mode shape, the variations of strain mode shapes at each point are quite different. The damping ratios are more affected by the types of test systems. Except for the case where a high order strain mode does not identify local damage, the first order strain mode can provide an exact indication of the damage location. 展开更多

Due to the strong electromagnetic interferences and human interference,traditional electromagnetic methods cannot obtain high quality resistivity data of mineral deposits in Chinese mines.The wide field electromagnetic method(WFEM),in which the pseudo-random signal is taken as the transmitter source,can extract high quality resistivity data in areas with sever interference by only measuring the electric field component.We use the WFEM to extract the resistivity information of the Dongguashan mine in southeast China.Compared with the audio magnetotelluric(AMT)method,and the controlled source audio-frequency magnetotelluric(CSAMT) method,the WFEM can obtain data with higher quality and simpler operations.The inversion results indicate that the WFEM can accurately identify the location of the main ore-body,which can be used for deep mine exploration in areas with strong interference. 展开更多

The delay compensation method plays an essential role in maintaining the stability and achieving accurate real-time hybrid simulation results. The effectiveness of various compensation methods in different test scenarios, however, needs to be quantitatively evaluated. In this study, four compensation methods (i.e., the polynomial extrapolation, the linear acceleration extrapolation, the inverse compensation and the adaptive inverse compensation) are selected and compared experimentally using a frequency evaluation index (FEI) method. The effectiveness of the FEI method is first verified through comparison with the discrete transfer fimction approach for compensation methods assuming constant delay. Incomparable advantage is further demonstrated for the FEI method when applied to adaptive compensation methods, where the discrete transfer function approach is difficult to implement. Both numerical simulation and laboratory tests with predefined displacements are conducted using sinusoidal signals and random signals as inputs. Findings from numerical simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the FEI method is an efficient and effective approach to compare the performance of different compensation methods, especially for those requiring adaptation of compensation parameters. 展开更多

A modified slow-fast analysis method is presented for the periodically excited non-autonomous dynamical system with an order gap between the exciting frequency and the natural frequency.By regarding the exciting term as a slow-varying parameter,a generalized autonomous fast subsystem can be defined,the equilibrium branches as well as the bifurcations of which can be employed to account for the mechanism of the bursting oscillations by combining the transformed phase portrait introduced.As an example,a typical periodically excited Hartley model is used to demonstrate the validness of the method,in which the exciting frequency is far less than the natural frequency.The equilibrium branches and their bifurcations of the fast subsystem with the variation of the slow-varying parameter are presented.Bursting oscillations for two typical cases are considered,which reveals that,fold bifurcation may cause the the trajectory to jump between different equilibrium branches,while Hopf bifurcation may cause the trajectory to oscillate around the stable limit cycle. 展开更多

In this paper, we propose a hybrid PML (H-PML) combining the normal absorption factor of convolutional PML (C-PML) with tangential absorption factor of Mutiaxial PML (M-PML). The H-PML boundary conditions can better suppress the numerical instability in some extreme models, and the computational speed of finite-element method and the dynamic range are greatly increased using this HPML. We use the finite-element method with a hybrid PML to model the acoustic reflection of the interface when wireline and well logging while drilling (LWD), in a formation with a reflector outside the borehole. The simulation results suggests that the PS- and SP- reflected waves arrive at the same time when the inclination between the well and the outer interface is zero, and the difference in arrival times increases with increasing dip angle. When there are fractures outside the well, the reflection signal is clearer in the subsequent reflection waves and may be used to identify the fractured zone. The difference between the dominant wavelength and the model scale shows that LWD reflection logging data are of higher resolution and quality than wireline acoustic reflection logging. 展开更多

A Method for Calculation of Low-Frequency Slow Drift Motions Based on NURBS for Floating Bodies 被引量:2

Through a higher-order boundary element method based on NURBS (Non-uniform Rational B-splines), the calculation of second-order low-frequency forces and slow drift motions is conducted for floating bodies. In the floating body's inner domain, an auxiliary equation is obtained by applying a Green function which satisfies the solid surface condition. Then, the auxiliary equation and the velocity potential equation are combined in the fluid domain to remove the solid angle coefficient and the singularity of the double layer potentials in the integral equation. Thus, a new velocity potential integral equation is obtained. The new equation is extended to the inner domain to reheve the irregular frequency effects; on the basis of the order analysis, the comparison is made about the contribution of all integral terms with the result in the second-order tow-frequency problem; the higher-order boundary element method based on NURBS is apphed to calculate the geometric position and velocity potentials; the slow drift motions are calculated by the spectrum analysis method. Removing the solid angle coefficient can apply NURBS technology to the hydrodynamic calculation of floating bodies with complex surfaces, and the extended boundary integral method can reduce the irregular frequency effects. Order analysis shows that free surface integral can be neglected, and the numerical results can also prove the correctness of order analysis. The results of second-order low-frequency forces and slow drift motions and the comparison with the results from references show that the application of the NURBS technology to the second-order low-frequency problem is of high efficiency and credible results. 展开更多

Preliminary design of offshore wind turbines requires high precision simplified methods for the analysis of the system fundamental frequency. Based on the Rayleigh method and Lagrange’s Equation, this study establishes a simple formula for the analysis of system fundamental frequency in the preliminary design of an offshore wind turbine with a monopile foundation. This method takes into consideration the variation of cross-section geometry of the wind turbine tower along its length, with the inertia moment and distributed mass both changing with diameter. Also the rotational flexibility of the monopile foundation is mainly considered. The rigid pile and elastic middle long pile are calculated separately. The method is validated against both FEM analysis cases and field measurements, showing good agreement. The method is then used in a parametric study, showing that the tower length Lt, tower base diameter d0, tower wall thickness δt, pile diameter db and pile length Lb are the major factors influencing the fundamental frequency of the offshore wind turbine system. In the design of offshore wind turbine systems, these five parameters should be adjusted comprehensively. The seabed soil condition also needs to be carefully considered for soft clay and loose sand. 展开更多

The nucleotide (base) sequence of the genome might reflect biological information beyond the coding sequences. The appearance frequencies of successive base sequences (key sequences) were calculated for entire genomes. Based on the appearance frequency of the key sequences of the genome, any DNA sequences on the genome could be expressed as a sequence spectrum with the adjoining base sequences, which could be used to study the corresponding biological phenomena. In this paper, we used 64 successive three- base sequences (triplets) as the key sequences, and determined and compared the spectra of specific genes to the chromosome, or specific genes to tRNA genes in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Schizosaccharomyces pombe and Escherichia coli. Based on these analyses, a gene and its corresponding position on the chromosome showed highly similar spectra with the same fold enlargement (approximately 400-fold) in the S. cerevisiae, S. pombe and E. coli genomes. In addition, the homologous structure of genes that encode proteins was also observed with appropriate tRNA gene(s) in the genome. This analytical method might faithfully reflect the encoded biological information, that is, the conservation of the base sequences was to make sense the conservation of the translated amino acids sequence in the coding region, and might be universally applicable to other genomes, even those that consisted of multiple chromosomes. 展开更多

Fatigue crack propagation characteristics of a diesel engine crankshaft are studied by measuring the fatigue crack growth rate using a frequency sweep method on a resonant fatigue test rig. Based on the phenomenon that the system frequency will change when the crack becomes large, this method can be directly applied to a complex component or structure. Finite element analyses (FEAs) are performed to calibrate the relation between the frequency change and the crack size, and to obtain the natural frequency of the test rig and the stress intensity factor (SIF) of growing cracks. The crack growth rate i.e. da/dN-AK of each crack size is obtained by combining the testing-time monitored data and FEA results. The results show that the crack growth rate of engine crankshaft, which is a component with complex geometry and special surface treatment, is quite different from that of a pure material. There is an apparent turning point in the Paris's crack partition. The cause of the fatigue crack growth is also discussed. 展开更多

There are some of electromagnetic (E-M) waves leak from the place of insulation spacer, therefore, the external sensors UHF measuring PD technique is applied, which isn't limited by the operation condition of GIS. Results This paper analyzes propagated electromagnetic (E-M) waves of partial discharge pulse excited by using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The signal collected at the outer point is more complex than that of the inner point, and the signals' amplitude of outer is about half of the inner, because it propagates through spacer and insulation slot. Set up UHF PD measuring system. The typical PD in 252kV GIS bus bar was measured using PD detection UHF technique with external sensors. Finally, compare the results of UHF measuring technique using external sensors with the results of FDTD method simulation and the traditional IEC60270 method detection. Conclusion The results of experiment shows that the UHF technique can realize the diagnosis of insulation condition, the results of FDTD method simulation and the result UHF method detection can demonstrate each other, which gives references to further researches and application for UHF PD measuring technique. 展开更多

Specifically, we make the utmost of the autocorrelation and cross-correlation information to propose an extended DOAmatrix(EDOAM) method. Subsequently, we obtain the autopaired angle and frequency estimates by the eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenvectors of the novel DOA matrix. Furthermore, the proposed method surpasses the DOA-matrix method which partly ignores the autocorrelation and cross-correlation information. Finally, the proposed method works well for both uniform and non-uniform linear arrays. The simulation consequences indicate the superiority of our proposed approach. 展开更多
