An analytical model for contact area and contact stress considering the loading history in incremental sheet forming(ISF)was established.Then,by integrating with the directional characteristics of friction force and horizontal force in the process,a friction test method reflecting the forming characteristics of ISF was proposed.Friction coefficients during the forming processes of parts with different wall angles were measured under various plane curves,process paths,and lubrication conditions.Furthermore,the accuracy of the analytical model,as well as the measured friction coefficients and their variation trends,was verified through comparative analysis with experimental results,simulation data,and outcomes from other existing models.The results indicate that the influence of the plane curve characteristics and process paths of parts on the friction condition is not significant.Under the lubrication conditions of L-HM46 oil,MoS_(2)grease,graphite powder,and dry friction,the friction coefficient shows a gradually increasing trend.Notably,when the wall angle is≤40°,the friction coefficient remains relatively constant;however,when the wall angle exceeds 40°,the friction coefficient increases progressively. 展开更多

The incremental capacity analysis(ICA)technique is notably limited by its sensitivity to variations in charging conditions,which constrains its practical applicability in real-world scenarios.This paper introduces an ICA-compensation technique to address this limitation and propose a generalized framework for assessing the state of health(SOH)of batteries based on ICA that is applicable under differing charging conditions.This novel approach calculates the voltage profile under quasi-static conditions by subtracting the voltage increase attributable to the additional polarization effects at high currents from the measured voltage profile.This approach's efficacy is contingent upon precisely acquiring the equivalent impedance.To obtain the equivalent impedance throughout the batteries'lifespan while minimizing testing costs,this study employs a current interrupt technique in conjunction with a long short-term memory(LSTM)network to develop a predictive model for equivalent impedance.Following the derivation of ICA curves using voltage profiles under quasi-static conditions,the research explores two scenarios for SOH estimation:one utilizing only incremental capacity(IC)features and the other incorporating both IC features and IC sampling.A genetic algorithm-optimized backpropagation neural network(GABPNN)is employed for the SOH estimation.The proposed generalized framework is validated using independent training and test datasets.Variable test conditions are applied for the test set to rigorously evaluate the methodology under challenging conditions.These evaluation results demonstrate that the proposed framework achieves an estimation accuracy of 1.04%for RMSE and 0.90%for MAPE across a spectrum of charging rates ranging from 0.1 C to 1 C and starting SOCs between 0%and 70%,which constitutes a major advancement compared to established ICA methods.It also significantly enhances the applicability of conventional ICA techniques in varying charging conditions and negates the necessity for separate testing protocols for each charging scenario. 展开更多

We have deduced incremental harmonic balance an iteration scheme in the (IHB) method using the harmonic balance plus the Newton-Raphson method. Since the convergence of the iteration is dependent upon the initial values in the iteration, the convergent region is greatly restricted for some cases. In this contribution, in order to enlarge the convergent region of the IHB method, we constructed the zeroth-order deformation equation using the homotopy analysis method, in which the IHB method is employed to solve the deformation equation with an embedding parameter as the active increment. Taking the Duffing and the van der Pol equations as examples, we obtained the highly accurate solutions. Importantly, the presented approach renders a convenient way to control and adjust the convergence. 展开更多

Single-point incremental forming (SPIF) is an innovational sheet metal forming method without dedicated dies, which belongs to rapid prototyping technology. In generalizing the SPIF of sheet metal, the deformation analysis on forming process becomes an important and useful method for the planning of shell products, the choice of material, the design of the forming process and the planning of the forming tool. Using solid brick elements, the finite element method(FEM) model of truncated pyramid was established. Based on the theory of anisotropy and assumed strain formulation, the SPIF processes with different parameters were simulated. The resulted comparison between the simulations and the experiments shows that the FEM model is feasible and effective. Then, according to the simulated forming process, the deformation pattern of SPIF can be summarized as the combination of plane-stretching deformation and bending deformation. And the study about the process parameters' impact on deformation shows that the process parameter of interlayer spacing is a dominant factor on the deformation. Decreasing interlayer spacing, the strain of one step decreases and the formability of blank will be improved. With bigger interlayer spacing, the plastic deformation zone increases and the forming force will be bigger. 展开更多

It has been shown that LIM provided prominent advantage of parallel computation with high efficiency and low time consumption for member structural system. To fully utilize its advantage in parallel computation, it is the time to extend LIM to 2D and 3D continua analysis. In this paper, a 2D finite element library with the capability of modeling arbitrary configurations is developed. Some illustrative numerical examples are solved by using the proposed library; the obtained results are compared with those obtained from both traditional displacement-based FEM and analytical solutions, which has clearly shown the advantages of LIM. 展开更多

Rotor system supported by nonlinear bearing such as squeeze film damper(SFD)is widely used in practice owing to its wide range of damping capacity and simplicity in structure.In this paper,an improved and effective Incremental transfer matrix method(ITMM)is first presented by combining ITMM and fast Fourier transform(FFT).Afterwards this method is applied to calculate the dynamic characteristics of a Jeffcott rotor system with SFD.The convergence dificulties incurred caused by strong nonlinearities of SFD has been dealt by adopting a control factor.It is found that for the more general boundary problems where the boundary conditions are not at input and output ends of a chain system,the supplementary equation is necessarily added.Additionally,the Floquet theory is used to analyze the stability and bifurcation type of the obtained periodic solution.The semi-analytical results,including the periodic solutions of the system,the bifurcation points and their types,are in good agreement with the numerical method.Furthermore,the involution mechanism of the quasi-periodic and chaotic motions near the first-order translational mode and the second order bending mode of this system is also clarified by this method with the aid of Floquet theory. 展开更多

Based on the principle of piecewise linearization, the incremental forms of microstructure evolution models were integrated into the thermo-mechanical coupled finite element(FE) model to simulate nonlinear microstructure evolution during multi-pass hot deformation. This is an unsteady-state deformation where dynamic recrystallization(DRX), meta-dynamic recrystallization(MDRX), static recrystallization(SRX) and grain growth(GG) take place during hot deformation or deformation interval. The distributions of deformation and microstructure for cylindrical AZ31 sample during single-pass and double-pass hot compressions were quantitatively calculated and compared with the metallographic observation. It is shown that both the deformation and microstructure are non-uniformly distributed due to the presence of friction between the die and the flat end of sample. The average grain size and its standard deviation under the double-pass hot compression are slightly smaller than those under single-pass compression.The simulated average grain sizes agree well with the experiments, which validates that the developed FE model on the basis of incremental forms of microstructure evolution models is reasonable. 展开更多

The incremental harmonic balance method was extended to analyze the flutter of systems with multiple structural strong nonlinearities. The strongly nonlinear cubic plunging and pitching stiffness terms were considered in the flutter equations of two-dimensional airfoil. First, the equations were transferred into matrix form, then the vibration process was divided into the persistent incremental processes of vibration moments. And the expression of their solutions could be obtained by using a certain amplitude as control parameter in the harmonic balance process, and then the bifurcation, limit cycle flutter phenomena and the number of harmonic terms were analyzed. Finally, numerical results calculated by the Runge-Kutta method were given to verify the results obtained by the proposed procedure. It has been shown that the incremental harmonic method is effective and precise in the analysis of strongly nonlinear flutter with multiple structural nonlinearities. 展开更多

Dielectric elastomer(DE) is suitable in soft transducers for broad applications,among which many are subjected to dynamic loadings, either mechanical or electrical or both. The tuning behaviors of these DE devices call for an efficient and reliable method to analyze the dynamic response of DE. This remains to be a challenge since the resultant vibration equation of DE, for example, the vibration of a DE balloon considered here is highly nonlinear with higher-order power terms and time-dependent coefficients. Previous efforts toward this goal use largely the numerical integration method with the simple harmonic balance method as a supplement. The numerical integration and the simple harmonic balance method are inefficient for large parametric analysis or with difficulty in improving the solution accuracy. To overcome the weakness of these two methods,we describe formulations of the incremental harmonic balance(IHB) method for periodic forced solutions of such a unique system. Combined with an arc-length continuation technique, the proposed strategy can capture the whole solution branches, both stable and unstable, automatically with any desired accuracy. 展开更多

Development of the Large Increment Method in Analysis for Thin and Moderately Thick Plates

Many displacement-based quadrilateral plate elements based on Mindlin-Reissner plate theory have been proposed to analyze the thin and moderately thick plate problems. However, numerical inaccuracies of some elements appear since the presence of shear locking and spurious zero energy modes for thin plate problems. To overcome these shortcomings, we employ the large increment method(LIM) for the analyses of the plate bending problems, and propose a force-based 8-node quadrilateral plate(8NQP) element which is based on MindlinReissner plate theory and has no extra spurious zero energy mode. Several benchmark plate bending problems are presented to illustrate the accuracy and convergence of the plate element by comparing with the analytical solutions and displacement-based plate elements. The results show that the 8-node plate element produces fast convergence and accurate stress distributions in both the moderately thick and thin plate bending problems. The plate element is insensitive to mesh distortion and it can avoid the shear locking for thin plate analysis. 展开更多

A force-based quadrilateral plate element( 4NQP13) for the analysis of the plate bending problems using large increment method( LIM) was proposed. The LIM, a force-based finite element method( FEM),has been successfully developed for the analysis of truss,beam,frame,and 2D continua problems. In these analyses,LIMcan provide more precise stress results and less computational time consumption compared with displacement-based FEM. The plate element was based on the Mindlin-Reissner plate theory which took into account the transverse shear effects.Numerical examples were presented to study its performance including accuracy and convergence behavior,and the results were compared with the results have been obtained from the displacementbased quadrilateral plate elements and the analytical solutions. The4NQP13 element can analyze the moderately thick plates and the thin plates using LIMand is free from spurious zero energy modes and free from shear locking for thin plate analysis. 展开更多

Accelerated proximal gradient methods have recently been developed for solving quasi-static incremental problems of elastoplastic analysis with some different yield criteria.It has been demonstrated through numerical experiments that these methods can outperform conventional optimization-based approaches in computational plasticity.However,in literature these algorithms are described individually for specific yield criteria,and hence there exists no guide for application of the algorithms to other yield criteria.This short paper presents a general form of algorithm design,independent of specific forms of yield criteria,that unifies the existing proximal gradient methods.Clear interpretation is also given to each step of the presented general algorithm so that each update rule is linked to the underlying physical laws in terms of mechanical quantities. 展开更多

This paper presents the design of an asymmetrically variable wingtip anhedral angles morphing aircraft,inspired by biomimetic mechanisms,to enhance lateral maneuver capability.Firstly,we establish a lateral dynamic model considering additional forces and moments resulting during the morphing process,and convert it into a Multiple Input Multiple Output(MIMO)virtual control system by importing virtual inputs.Secondly,a classical dynamics inversion controller is designed for the outer-loop system.A new Global Fast Terminal Incremental Sliding Mode Controller(NDO-GFTISMC)is proposed for the inner-loop system,in which an adaptive law is implemented to weaken control surface chattering,and a Nonlinear Disturbance Observer(NDO)is integrated to compensate for unknown disturbances.The whole control system is proven semiglobally uniformly ultimately bounded based on the multi-Lyapunov function method.Furthermore,we consider tracking errors and self-characteristics of actuators,a quadratic programmingbased dynamic control allocation law is designed,which allocates virtual control inputs to the asymmetrically deformed wingtip and rudder.Actuator dynamic models are incorporated to ensure physical realizability of designed allocation law.Finally,comparative experimental results validate the effectiveness of the designed control system and control allocation law.The NDO-GFTISMC features faster convergence,stronger robustness,and 81.25%and 75.0%reduction in maximum state tracking error under uncertainty compared to the Incremental Nonlinear Dynamic Inversion Controller based on NDO(NDO-INDI)and Incremental Sliding Mode Controller based on NDO(NDO-ISMC),respectively.The design of the morphing aircraft significantly enhances lateral maneuver capability,maintaining a substantial control margin during lateral maneuvering,reducing the burden of the rudder surface,and effectively solving the actuator saturation problem of traditional aircraft during lateral maneuvering. 展开更多

Acceleration of sheet metal spinning simulation by multi-mesh method

Sheet metal spinning is an incremental forming process for producing axisymmetric thinwalled parts through continuous local deformation under the action of rollers.While studying the spinning process by finite element(FE)method,a critical bottleneck is the enormous simulation time.For beating off this challenge,a novel multi-mesh method is developed.The method can dynamically track the movement of rollers and adaptively refine the mesh.Thus,a locally refined quadrilateral computation mesh can be generated in the locally-deforming zone and reduce the unnecessary fine elements outside the locally-deforming zone.In the multi-mesh system,the fine elements and coarse elements are extracted from a storage mesh and a background mesh,respectively.Meanwhile,the hanging nodes in the locally refined mesh are removed by designing 4-refinement templates.Between computation mesh and storage mesh,a bi-cubic parametric surface fitting algorithm and accurate remapping methods are conducted to transmit geometric information and physical fields.The proposed method has been verified by two spinning processes.The results suggest that the method can save time by up to about 67%with satisfactory accuracy,especially for distributions of thickness and strain compared with the fully refined mesh. 展开更多

In the incremental sheet forming (ISF) process, springback is a very important factor that affects the quality of parts. Predicting and controlling springback accurately is essential for the design of the toolpath for ISF. A three-dimensional elasto-plastic finite element model (FEM) was developed to simulate the process and the simulated results were compared with those from the experiment. The springback angle was found to be in accordance with the experimental result, proving the FEM to be effective. A coupled artificial neural networks (ANN) and finite element method technique was developed to simulate and predict springback responses to changes in the processing parameters. A particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm was used to optimize the weights and thresholds of the neural network model. The neural network was trained using available FEM simulation data. The results showed that a more accurate prediction of s!oringback can be acquired using the FEM-PSONN model. 展开更多

脱氮是水体氮负荷去除的重要途径,准确、快速地测定水体脱氮速率对于评估湖库、河流等水体的脱氮功能具有重要意义。针对目前常用的乙炔抑制法、15 N同位素示踪法等无法原位快速测定水体脱氮速率,且存在费用高、耗时长等问题,本研究提... 脱氮是水体氮负荷去除的重要途径,准确、快速地测定水体脱氮速率对于评估湖库、河流等水体的脱氮功能具有重要意义。针对目前常用的乙炔抑制法、15 N同位素示踪法等无法原位快速测定水体脱氮速率,且存在费用高、耗时长等问题,本研究提出了一种基于氮气增量的水体脱氮速率原位快速测定新方法,可通过原位取水-吹扫-培养-测定,实现水体总脱氮速率野外快速检测。应用该方法于2024年5-6月在三峡水库支流澎溪河开展脱氮速率定点持续监测及库湾巡测,与乙炔抑制法进行对比,并分析不同环境因子对脱氮速率的影响。结果表明,本方法所测脱氮速率是乙炔抑制法所测反硝化速率的7倍左右,二者具有显著相关性。监测期间澎溪河水体脱氮速率表现为表层>底层>中层,表层脱氮速率主要受藻浓度影响,底层水体脱氮速率主要受浊度影响。本研究对于水体脱氮速率原位快速测定,准确认识和评估水体脱氮潜力具有重要意义。 展开更多

本文针对驰振系统,提出了一系列压电动力吸振器,实现了振动抑制与能量收集双重功能.采用增量谐波平衡法得到了安装有不同减振器的驰振抑制系统的周期解曲线,并通过数值方法进行验证.风速位移曲线、风速电压曲线、相平面图和时间历程图... 本文针对驰振系统,提出了一系列压电动力吸振器,实现了振动抑制与能量收集双重功能.采用增量谐波平衡法得到了安装有不同减振器的驰振抑制系统的周期解曲线,并通过数值方法进行验证.风速位移曲线、风速电压曲线、相平面图和时间历程图等结果均表明增量谐波平衡法与数值方法计算结果吻合较好.此外,在相同计算条件下,增量谐波平衡法的计算用时明显少于数值方法,为研究驰振系统提供更高效的计算方案.通过参数分析,量化了减振器参数如质量、刚度、阻尼对主系统减振效果及系统输出电压的影响规律,对比评价了相关参数对减振效果的作用,为减振器的高效设计明确了参数的选择方案. 展开更多
