Regarding that the core of these transformers is often the ferrite core;their functions partly depend on this core characteristic. One of the characteristics of the ferrite core is thermal behavior that should be paid attention to because it affects the transformer function and causes heat generation. In this paper, a typical high frequency transformer with ferrite core is designed and simulated in ANSYS software. Temperature rise due to winding current (Joule-heat) is considered as heat generation source for thermal behavior analysis of the transformer. In this simulation, the temperature rise and heat distribution are studied and the effects of parameters such as flux density, winding loss value, using a fan to cool the winding and core and thermal conductivity are investigated.展开更多

The influences of rolling parameters, such as the velocity ratio of upper to lower rolls, the initial temperature of workpiece and the reduction rate, on the shear deformation of three nodes in the upper, center and lower layers were discussed. As the rolling parameters change, distinct shear deformation appears in the upper and lower layers, but the shear deformation in the center layer appears only when the velocity ratio is more than 1.00, and the absolute value of the shear stress in this layer is changed with rolling parameters. A mathematical model which reflected the change of the maximal absolute shear stress for the center layer was established, by which the maximal absolute shear stress for the center layer can be easily calculated and the appropriate rolling technology can be designed.展开更多

The modified Johnson–Cook model and the Arrhenius model based on strain-compensated of Q420 steel were established. The latter can more accurately reflect the flow behavior of Q420 steel. For the simulation of thermal compression, dynamic recrystallization (DRX) correlation models were developed and imported into DEFORM-3D software. According to simulation results, high temperatures and low strain rates are conducive to DRX. Due to the uneven distribution of equivalent strain and temperature in different parts of the same section, DRX volume fraction and grain size are unevenly distributed. At the center, the DRX volume fraction is the largest and the grain size is the smallest. The upper and lower edges are vice versa, and the left and right edges are centered. Optical microscopy and electron backscatter diffraction characterization methods were used to study the hot compression microstructure under different deformation conditions. As the deformation amount increases, complete DRX is gradually reached. The original austenite grain gradually becomes smaller. Local average misorientation decreases with the progression of DRX but increases with the amount of deformation after completion of DRX. As the temperature increases and the rate decreases, low angle grain boundaries and medium angle grain boundaries gradually decrease, and high angle grain boundaries gradually increase, indicating that dislocation decreases gradually, DRX grains increase gradually, and martensitic multilayer structure is obvious. As austenite grain size increases, the length of martensite lath increases, and the number of martensite blocks decreases.展开更多

This experiment is implemented through a two-dimensional spectral stochastic finite element formulation of an elliptic partial differential equation having stochastic coefficients. Deriving this spectral stochastic finite element formulation couples a two-dimensional deterministic finite element formulation of an elliptic partial differential equation with generalized polynomial chaos expansions of stochastic coefficients. Further inspection of the performance of resulting spectral stochastic finite element formulation with adopting linear and quadratic (9-node or 8-node) quadrilateral elements finds that more accurate standard deviations of unknowns are surprisingly predicted using quadratic quadrilateral elements, especially under high autocorrelation function values of stochastic coefficients. In addition, creating spectral stochastic finite element results using quadratic quadrilateral elements is not unacceptably time-consuming. Therefore, this study concludes that adopting high-order elements can be a lower-cost method to improve the performance of spectral stochastic finite element method.展开更多

The results show that the upper crustal structure is relatively well-distributed in laterally and obviously by layers vertically. From surface to 11.0 km depth, there are about four layers. The P wave velocity of top two layers range from 1.65 to 4.5 km/s and their bottom boundaries, the buried depths of which are 0.4, 2.96-3.0 km respectively, are almost horizontal; The third layer is comparatively complicated and its P wave velocity presents inhomogeneous in both laterally and vertically. The bottom boundary of third layer is crystalline basement and shows a little uplift, which seemly suggest that the upper crust had been resisted while the hard Tarim block inserting into Tianshan Mountain; The forth layer is relatively even and its P wave velocity is about 6.3 km/s. There are a lateral velocity variation at the depth of about 4.0 km, and suggest that it has something to do with the hidden Meigaiti fault and Meigaiti-Xiasuhong fault but there are no the structure features about these faults stretching to the surface and passing through the crystalline basement. The seismogenic tectonic of Jiashi strong earthquake swarm at least lies in middle or lower crust beneath 11.0 km depth.展开更多

The present higher-order accuracy scheme is obtained through the introductionof the difference of almost equal amount of diffusion and antidiffusion, where the antidiffusion isformulated as approximation to diffusion making use of consecutive gradient. The non-oscillatoryproperties are secured by limiters to preserve positivity constraints. The implement of the schemeis based on semi-discrete form and can be considered as reconstruction of the coefficient matrix ofalgebraic system, so, it can he conveniently used by either structured or unstructured meshes. Thepower and flexibility of the present high resolution VOF-FEM approach is validated by examplesincluding convective transport, dam breaking flow, and stilling basin flow in hydraulic engineering.展开更多

The seismogenic tectonic of Jiashi strong earthquake swarm at least lies in middle or lower crust beneath 11.0 km depth.
文摘In this paper, the sliding surface algorithms in dynamic finite element analysis ofhigh velocity impact are presented. With these algorithms, the momentum and theangular momentum of the element can be conserved. The calculated examples showthat the calculation using these algorithms in dynamic finite element analysis of highvelocity is valid and stable.
文摘A high-resolution finite element scheme is developed for the computation offree surface problems. Thepower and flexibility of the present high resolution VOF-FEM approach is validated by examplesincluding convective transport, dam breaking flow, and stilling basin flow in hydraulic engineering.

文摘Currently, there is a lack of in-situ or model test results for cone penetration tests(CPTs)conducted in deep, dense sand layers under high overburden stresses, restricting the development of empirical relationships between CPT results and the characteristics of such deep, dense sand layers. This study addresses this gap by proposing an empirical relationship to predict the relative density of dense silica sand based on stress level and cone tip resistance. The relationship was developed through CPTs performed in a calibration chamber using dense sand specimens(with relative densities of 74%-91%)subjected to high stresses(under overburden stresses of 0.5-2.0 MPa)and numerical simulations employing the large deformation finite element method. The Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian method was used to regularly regenerate the mesh to prevent soil element distortion around the cone tip.Additionally, the modified Mohr-Coulomb model was integrated to capture the stress-strain behavior of dense silica sand under high stresses.A reasonable agreement was achieved between the numerical and experimental penetration profiles, which verifies the reliability of the numerical model.A sufficient number of parametric analyses were carried out,and then an empirical equation was proposed to establish the relationship between the relative density of dense sand, stress level and cone resistance. The empirical equation provides predictions with acceptable accuracy,as the discrepancies between the predicted and measured relative density values fall within±30%.
