Displacement back-analysis is the most widely used method;however, the reliability of thecurrent approaches remains unsatisfactory. Therefore, in this paper, a multistage rock mass parameterback-analysis method, that considers the construction process and displacement losses is proposed andimplemented through the coupling of numerical simulation, auto-machine learning (AutoML), andmulti-objective optimization algorithms (MOOAs). First, a parametric modeling platform for mechanizedtwin tunnels is developed, generating a dataset through extensive numerical simulations. Next, theAutoML method is utilized to establish a surrogate model linking rock parameters and displacements. The tunnel construction process is divided into multiple stages, transforming the rock mass parameterback-analysis into a multi-objective optimization problem, for which multi-objective optimization algorithmsare introduced to obtain the rock mass parameters. The newly proposed rock mass parameterback-analysis method is validated in a mechanized twin tunnel project, and its accuracy and effectivenessare demonstrated. Compared with traditional single-stage back-analysis methods, the proposedmodel decreases the average absolute percentage error from 12.73% to 4.34%, significantly improving theaccuracy of the back-analysis. Moreover, although the accuracy of back analysis significantly increaseswith the number of construction stages considered, the back analysis time is acceptable. This studyprovides a new method for displacement back analysis that is efficient and accurate, thereby paving theway for precise parameter determination in numerical simulations.展开更多

However, traditional CR-enabled DSA system employs only single DSA strategy, which might not be suited to the dynamic network environment. In this paper, we propose a multi-strategy DSA(MS-DSA) system, where the primary and the secondary system share spectrum resources with multiple DSA strategies simultaneously. To analyze the performance of the proposed MS-DSA system, we model it as a continuous-time Markov chain(CTMC) and derive the expressions to compute the corresponding performance metrics. Based on this, we define a utility function involving the concerns of effective throughput, interference quantity on primary users, and spectrum leasing cost. Two optimization schemes, named as spectrum allocation and false alarm probability selection, are proposed to maximize the utility function. Finally, numerical simulations are provided to validate our analysis and demonstrate that the performance can be significantly improved caused by virtues of the proposed MS-DSA system.展开更多

As stiffness and damping elements connecting the transmission system and vehicle body, the rubber mount exhibits better vibration isolation performance than the rigid connection. This paper presents a complete design process of the mounting system, including the vibration decoupling, vibration simulation analysis, topology optimization, and experimental verification. Based on the 6?degrees?of?freedom vibration coupling model of the powertrain mounting system, an optimization algorithm is used to extract the best design parameters of each mount, thus rendering the mounting system fully decoupled and the natural frequency well configured, and the optimal parameters are used to design the mounting system. Subsequently, vibration simulation analysis is applied to the mounting system, considering both transmission and road excitations. According to the results of finite element analysis, the topological structure of the metal frame of the front mount is optimized to improve the strength and dynamic characteristics of the mounting system. Finally, the vibration bench test is used to verify the availability of the optimization design with the analysis of acceleration response and vibration transmissibility of the mounting system. The results show that the vibration isolation performance of the mounting system can be improved effectively using the vibration optimal decoupling method, and the structural modification of the metal frame can well promote the dynamic characteristics of the mounting system.展开更多

Firstly, the temperature field is calculated by the 2 D finite element model of MSPMSM and the method of applying the 2 D temperature result to the 3 D finite element model of the motor rotor equivalently is proposed. Then the thermal–structure coupling analysis is processed through mathematic method and finite element method(FEM),in which the 3 D finite element model is established precisely in a way and approaches the practical operation state further. Moreover, the impact produced by the temperature and structure on the mechanical strength is analyzed in detail. Finally, the optimization mathematical model of the motor rotor is established with Sequential Quadratic Programming-NLPQL selected in the optimization scheme. Through optimization, the strength of the components in the motor rotor increases obviously and satisfies the design requirement, which to a great extend enhances the service life of the MSPMSM rotor.展开更多

In this study, smoothed particles hydrodynamics(SPH) method is used for simulating the bird strike to an airplane wing leading edge structure. In order to verify the model, first, experiment of bird strike to a flat aluminum plate is simulated, and then bird impact on an airplane wing leading edge structure is investigated. After that, considering dimensions of wing internal structural components like ribs, skin and spar as design variables, we try to minimize structural mass and wing skin deformation simultaneously. To do this, bird strike simulations to 18 different wing structures are made based on Taguchi’s L18 factorial design of experiment. Then grey relational analysis is used to minimize structural mass and wing skin deformation due to the bird strike. The analysis of variance(ANOVA) is also applied and it is concluded that the most significant parameter for the performance of wing structure against impact is the skin thickness. Finally, a validation simulation is conducted under the optimal condition to show the improvement of performance of the wing structure.展开更多

Numerical results show that the energy absorption capability of the bitubular hexagonal columns with middle to middle(MTM) ribs is the best, followed by the bitubular hexagonal columns with corner to corner(CTC) ribs and the bitubular hexagonal columns without(NOT) ribs, respectively. Then, the MTM rib was optimized by using multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm. Through the analysis of the Pareto front for specific energy absorption(SEA, A_(se)) and peak crushing force(PCF, F_(pc)), it is found that there is a vertex on the Pareto front. The vertex has the design parameters of t_1=1.2 mm, t_2=1.2 mm, A_(se)=11.3729 k J/kg, F_(pc)=235.8491 kN. When the PCF is in a certain size, on the left of the vertex, the point with t_2=1.2 mm has the biggest SEA, meanwhile on the right of the vertex, the point with t_1=1.2 mm has the biggest SEA. Finally, the global sensitivity analysis was conducted to investigate the effect of two design parameters. The result is obtained that both SEA and PCF for MTM are more sensitive to t_1 rather than t_2 in the design domain.展开更多

The multidisciplinary design model of the rocket system is established and the design uncertainties are quantified. The sensitivity anal- ysis of the uncertainties shows that the uncertainty generated from the error of fuel regression rate model has the most significant effect on the system performances. Then the differences between deterministic design optimization (DDO) and uncertainty-based design optimization (UDO) are discussed. Two newly formed uncertainty analysis methods, including the Kriging-based Monte Carlo simulation (KMCS) and Kriging-based Taylor series approximation (KTSA), are carried out using a global approximation Kriging modeling method. Based on the system design model and the results of design uncertainty analysis, the design optimization of an HRM powered vehicle for suborbital flight is implemented using three design optimization methods: DDO, KMCS and KTSA. The comparisons indicate that the two UDO methods can enhance the design reliability and robustness. The researches and methods proposed in this paper can provide a better way for the general design of HRM powered vehicles.展开更多

文摘Compared to other energy sources, nuclear reactors offer several advantages as a spacecraft power source, including compact size, high power density, and long operating life. These qualities make nuclear power an ideal energy source for future deep space exploration.A whole system model of the space nuclear reactor consisting of the reactor neutron kinetics, reactivity control, reactor heat transfer, heat exchanger, and thermoelectric converter was developed. In addition,an electrical power control system was designed based on the developed dynamic model. The GRS method was used to quantitatively calculate the uncertainty of coupling parameters of the neutronics,thermal-hydraulics,and control system for the space reactor. The Spearman correlation coefficient was applied in the sensitivity analysis of system input parameters to output parameters. The calculation results showed that the uncertainty of the output parameters caused by coupling parameters had the most considerable variation, with a relative standard deviation<2.01%.Effective delayed neutron fraction was most sensitive to electrical power. To obtain optimal control performance, the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm method was employed to optimize the controller parameters based on the uncertainty quantification calculation. Two typical transient simulations were conducted to test the adaptive ability of the optimized controller in the uncertainty dynamic system, including 100%full power(FP)to 90%FP step load reduction transient and 5%FP/min linear variable load transient. The results showed that, considering the influence of system uncertainty, the optimized controller could improve the response speed and load following accuracy of electrical power control,in which the effectiveness and superiority have been verified.

文摘Accurate determination of rock mass parameters is essential for ensuring the accuracy of numericalsimulations. This studyprovides a new method for displacement back analysis that is efficient and accurate, thereby paving theway for precise parameter determination in numerical simulations.

文摘Around the world, there has been a notable shift toward the use of renewable energy technology due to the growing demand for energy and the ongoing depletion of conventional resources, such as fossil fuels.Following this worldwide trend,Brunei’s government has initiated several strategic programs aimed at encouraging the establishment of energy from renewable sources in the nation’s energy mix. These initiatives are designed not only to support environmental sustainability but also to make energy from renewable sources increasingly competitive in comparison to more conventional energy sources like gas and oil, which have historically dominated Brunei’s energy market. The optimization of a hybrid energy system that combines diesel generators, solar photovoltaic(PV)panels, and the national power grid is the focus of this study. The objective is to identify the most cost-effective and environmentally sustainable configuration that can reliably meet local energy demands.During optimization, several configuration was tried and tested, including only grid,PV and Grid and PV-generator.HOMER(Hybrid Optimization of Multiple Energy Resources)software,a popular simulation tool that makes it possible to simulate and analyze hybrid energy systems,is utilized in the optimization process.Inside the HOMER Pro optimization, various system configuration is taken into account for the optimization. While simulating,it takes into account different combinations of components such as solar panels, wind turbines and batteries.Later on,it is being ranked by different factors such as net present cost(NPC),Cost of Energy(COE),etc.A comprehensive techno-economic research is carried out to evaluate various system configurations, considering key performance indicators such as total energy generation cost, operational expenditure, and greenhouse gas emissions. The results provide valuable insights into how renewable-based hybrid systems can reduce environmental impact while maintaining economic viability, supporting Brunei’s broader goals of energy diversification and sustainability. The study also emphasizes how such hybrid systems could be scaled for off-grid and rural populations in Brunei, where a dependable electricity supply is still a problem.Furthermore, sensitivity analyses were performed to evaluate the effects of variations in solar irradiation, load demand, and fuel prices on the overall system performance.Policymakers and energy planners can use these insights to help them make data-driven decisions about future investments in infrastructure for renewable energy.

文摘GNSS time series analysis provides an effective method for research on the earth's surface deformation, and it can be divided into two parts, deterministic models and stochastic models. The former part can be achieved by several parameters, such as polynomial terms, periodic terms, offsets, and post-seismic models. The latter contains some stochastic noises, which can be affected by detecting the former parameters. If there are not enough parameters assumed, modeling errors will occur and adversely affect the analysis results. In this study,we propose a processing strategy in which the commonly-used 1-order of the polynomial term can be replaced with different orders for better fitting GNSS time series of the Crustal Movement Network of China(CMONOC)stations.Initially,we use the Bayesian Information Criterion(BIC)to identify the best order within the range of 1-4 during the fitting process using the white noise plus power-law noise(WN+PL)model. Then,we compare the 1-order and the optimal order on the effect of deterministic models in GNSS time series, including the velocity and its uncertainty, amplitudes, and initial phases of the annual signals. The results indicate that the first-order polynomial in the GNSS time series is not the primary factor. The root mean square(RMS)reduction rates of almost all station components are positive, which means the new fitting of optimal-order polynomial helps to reduce the RMS of residual series. Most stations maintain the velocity difference(VD)within ±1 mm/yr,with percentages of 85.6%,81.9%and 63.4%in the North,East, and Up components, respectively. As for annual signals, the numbers of amplitude difference(AD)remained at ±0.2 mm are 242,239,and 200 in three components, accounting for 99.6%,98.4%,and 82.3%,respectively.This finding reminds us that the detection of the optimal-order polynomial is necessary when we aim to acquire an accurate understanding of the crustal movement features.

文摘The 13-node quadrilateral and 39-node hexahedral cubic serendipity elements produce nodally integrated positive-definite lumped heat capacity matrices in higher-order finite element analysis. However, these elements display severe convergence deterioration in explicit transient heat conduction analysis with lumped heat ca-pacity matrices. This convergence decay is due to the violation of variational integration consistency by the standard Galerkin formulation with lumped heat capacity matrices. This issue is resolved by introducing the boundary-enhanced Galerkin weak form that incorporates the elemental boundary contribution in the discrete finite element formulation.Subsequently,it is theoretically proven that a direct nodal integration identically fulfills the variational integration consistency in the context of the boundary-enhanced Galerkin weak form. The proposed variationally consistent nodal integration therefore enables optimal convergence for explicit transient heat conduction analysis with lumped heat capacity matrices. The efficacy of the proposed variationally con-sistent nodal integration formulation for the 13-node quadrilateral and 39-node hexahedral cubic elements is thoroughly demonstrated via numerical examples.

文摘Dynamic spectrum access(DSA) based on cognitive radios(CR) technique is an effective approach to address the "spectrum scarcity" issue. Finally, numerical simulations are provided to validate our analysis and demonstrate that the performance can be significantly improved caused by virtues of the proposed MS-DSA system.

文摘The design strategies for powertrain mounting systems play an important role in the reduction of vehicular vibration and noise. The results show that the vibration isolation performance of the mounting system can be improved effectively using the vibration optimal decoupling method, and the structural modification of the metal frame can well promote the dynamic characteristics of the mounting system.

文摘With the high speed, the rotor of magnetically suspended permanent magnet synchronous motor(MSPMSM) suffers great thermal stress and mechanical stress resulting from the temperature rise problem caused by rotor losses, which leads to instability and inefficiency. In this paper, the mechanical–temperature field coupling analysis is conducted to analyze the relationship between the temperature field and structure, and multi-objective optimization of a rotor is performed to improve the design reliability and efficiency. Through optimization, the strength of the components in the motor rotor increases obviously and satisfies the design requirement, which to a great extend enhances the service life of the MSPMSM rotor.
文摘Collisions between birds and aircraft are one of the most dangerous threats to flight safety. Finally, a validation simulation is conducted under the optimal condition to show the improvement of performance of the wing structure.

文摘The dynamic characteristics of bridge structures, such as the natural frequencies, mode shapes and model damping ratio, are the basis of structural dynamic computation, seismic analysis, vibration control and structural health condition monitoring. In this paper, a three-dimensional finite-element model is established for a highway bridge over a railway on No.312 National Highway and the ambient test is carried out in site, the dynamic characteristics of the bridge are studied using the finite-element analysis and ambient vibration measurements. Comparison between the theoretical and experimental results shows that the frequency differences of the modes range between 0.44% and 8.77%. If the measurement is more reliable, the finite element model updating is necessary. Thus, a set of design variables is selected based on sensitivity analysis, then the finite element model of the bridge is updated based on optimization algorithm. The results of model updating show that the proposed updating method in this paper is more simple and effective, the updated finite element model can reflect the dynamic characteristics of the bridge better, the analytical results can provide the theoretical basis for damage identification and health condition monitoring of the bridge.

文摘To improve the vibration isolation performance of suspensions, various new structural forms of suspensions have been proposed. However, there is uncertainty in these new structure suspensions,so the deterministic research cannot refect the performance of the suspension under actual operating conditions. In this paper,a quasi-zero stifness isolator is used in automotive suspensions to form a new suspension−quasi-zero stifness air suspension(QZSAS).Due to the strong nonlinearity and structural complexity of quasi-zero stifness suspensions, changes in structural parameters may cause dramatic changes in suspension performance,so it is of practical importance to study the efect of structural parameter uncertainty on the suspension performance. In order to solve this problem, three suspension structural parameters d_(0),L_(0) and Pc_(0) are selected as random variables, and the polynomial chaos expansion(PCE)theory is used to solve the suspension performance parameters. The sensitivity of the performance parameters to diferent structural parameters was discussed and analyzed in the frequency domain.Furthermore,a multi-objective optimization of the structural parameters d_(0),L_(0) and Pc_(0) of QZSAS was performed with the mean and variance of the root-mean-square(RMS)acceleration values as the optimization objectives. The optimization results show that there is an improvement of about 8%−1_(0)%in the mean value and about 4_(0)%−55%in the standard deviation of acceleration(RMS)values. This paper verifes the feasibility of the PCE method for solving the uncertainty problem of complex nonlinear systems, which provide a reference for the future structural design and optimization of such suspension systems.

文摘In order to improve the crashworthiness of thin-walled columns, the energy absorption characteristics of three columns under quasi-static axial crushing loads were analyzed through LS-DYNA. The result is obtained that both SEA and PCF for MTM are more sensitive to t_1 rather than t_2 in the design domain.

文摘Abstract In this paper, we propose an uncertainty analysis and design optimization method and its applications on a hybrid rocket motor (HRM) powered vehicle. The researches and methods proposed in this paper can provide a better way for the general design of HRM powered vehicles.
