From the existing empirical and theoretical literature we derive three aspects that dis...In the present article we review behavioral and neurophysiological studies on face processing in adults and in early development. From the existing empirical and theoretical literature we derive three aspects that distinguish face processing from the processing of other visual object categories. Each of these aspects is discussed from a developmental perspective. First, faces are recognized and represented at the individual level rather than at the basic level. Second, humans typically acquire extensive expertise in individuating faces from early on in development. And third, more than other objects, faces are processed holistically. There is a quantitative difference in the amount of visual experience for faces and other object categories in that the amount of expertise typically acquired for faces is greater than that for other object categories. In addition, we discuss possible qualitative differences in experience for faces and objects. For instance, there is evidence for a sensitive period in infancy for building up a holistic face representation and for perceptual narrowing for faces of one's own species and race. We conclude our literature review with questions for future research, for instance, regarding the exact relationship between behavioral and neuronal markers of face processing across development.展开更多
In the digital era,emojis have enriched the way people communicate and research on emojis explosively increased in recent years.However,few noticed their functions from the neurocognitive perspective,especially their ...In the digital era,emojis have enriched the way people communicate and research on emojis explosively increased in recent years.However,few noticed their functions from the neurocognitive perspective,especially their similarities and differences with facial expressions in traditional face-to-face communication.To fill this gap,we conducted a Meta-analysis with 25 independent effect sizes from previous experimental studies.The present study shows that emojis have slight advantages in processing efficiency,which might be attributed to their simplicity in design,namely the omission of complex facial features,but the difference between emoji and face processing is not significant.In addition,emotional valence and experimental methods do not have significant influences,which suggests that emojis are equally effective as human faces in emotional expression.The current research contributes to the knowledge in digital communication and the crucial role played by emojis therein.展开更多
In this paper, based on the principle of heat transfer and thermal elastic-plastic theory, the heat treatment process optimization scheme for face gears is proposed according to the structural characteristics of the f...In this paper, based on the principle of heat transfer and thermal elastic-plastic theory, the heat treatment process optimization scheme for face gears is proposed according to the structural characteristics of the face gear and material properties of 12Cr2Ni4 steel. To simulate the effect of carburizing and quenching process on tooth deformation and residual stress distribution, a heat treatment analysis model of face gears is established, and the microstructure, stress and deformation of face gear teeth changing with time are analyzed. The simulation results show that face gear tooth hardness increases, tooth surface residual compressive stress increases and tooth deformation decreases after heat treatment process optimization. It is beneficial to improving the fatigue strength and performance of face gears.展开更多

It is found that such image processing operation helps in operations needs quick investigation transactions of some issues like policemen works and operations. The method depends on the given database about the face of the person, the face recognition depends on drawing a face of the given data and then comparing the resulted face with the stored data and find the most closes one and choose it to be its goal. This operation needs a time, it is not real-time operation but the time needed is too short. This method develop a method to make the operation of searching about some unknown person or face faster which helps more all sectors interested in searching about some unknowns in their transactions.展开更多
BACKGROUND Exploring hypnotherapy's potential to modulate attention bias offers promising avenues for treating social anxiety disorder(SAD).AIM To determine if hypnotherapy can alleviate social anxiety by influenc...BACKGROUND Exploring hypnotherapy's potential to modulate attention bias offers promising avenues for treating social anxiety disorder(SAD).AIM To determine if hypnotherapy can alleviate social anxiety by influencing attention bias,specifically identifying the aspects of attention processes affected by hypnosis.METHODS In this study,69 SAD participants were divided into three groups based on their Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale scores:Experimental group,control group,and baseline group.The experimental group(n=23)underwent six weekly hypnosis sessions,while the control(n=23)and baseline groups(n=23)received no treatment.To evaluate alterations in SAD severity and attention bias towards threatening stimuli following hypnotherapy,we employed a combination of self-report questionnaires,an odd-one-out task,and electroencephalography recordings.RESULTS The experimental group showed significant reductions in P1,N170,N2pc,and late positive potential(LPP)brain wave activities during attention sensitivity and disengagement conditions.This indicates that hypnotherapy modulates early-stage face processing and later-stage emotional evaluation of threat-related stimuli in SAD patients.CONCLUSION Our findings highlight P1,N170,N2pc,and LPP as key neural markers in SAD treatment.By identifying these neural markers influenced by hypnotherapy,we offer insight into the mechanisms by which this treatment modality impacts attentional processes,potentially easing SAD symptoms.展开更多
