Autonomous Underwater Vehicles(AUVs)are pivotal for deep-sea exploration and resource exploitation,yet their reliability in extreme underwater environments remains a critical barrier to widespread deployment.Through systematic analysis of 150 peer-reviewed studies employing mixed-methods research,this review yields three principal advancements to the reliability analysis of AUVs.First,based on the hierarchical functional division of AUVs into six subsystems(propulsion system,navigation system,communication system,power system,environmental detection system,and emergency system),this study systematically identifies the primary failure modes and potential failure causes of each subsystem,providing theoretical support for fault diagnosis and reliability optimization.Subsequently,a comprehensive review of AUV reliability analysis methods is conducted from three perspectives:analytical methods,simulated methods,and surrogate model methods.The applicability and limitations of each method are critically analyzed to offer insights into their suitability for engineering applications.Finally,the study highlights key challenges and research hotpots in AUV reliability analysis,including reliability analysis under limited data,AI-driven reliability analysis,and human reliability analysis.Furthermore,the potential of multi-sensor data fusion,edge computing,and advanced materials in enhancing AUV environmental adaptability and reliability is explored. 展开更多

With the advancement of more electric aircraft(MEA)technology,the application of electro-hydrostatic actuators(EHAs)in aircraft actuation systems has become increasingly prevalent.This paper focuses on the modeling and mode switching analysis of EHA used in the primary flight control actuation systems of large aircraft,addressing the challenges associated with mode switching.First,we analyze the functional architecture and operational characteristics of multi-mode EHA,and sumarize the operating modes and implementation methods.Based on the EHA system architecture,we then develop a theoretical mathematical model and a simulation model.Using the simulation model,we analyze the performance of the EHA during normal operation.Finally,the performance of the EHA during mode switching under various functional switching scenarios is investigated.The results indicate that the EHA meets the performance requirements in terms of accuracy,bandwidth,and load capacity.Additionally,the hydraulic cylinder operates smoothly during the EHA mode switching,and the response time for switching between different modes is less than the specified threshold.These findings validate the system performance of multi-mode EHA,which helps to improve the reliability of EHA and the safety of aircraft flight control systems. 展开更多

Purpose:To evaluate the effects of healthcare failure mode and effect analysis(FMEA)on the prevention of deep venous thrombosis(DVT)in elderly patients undergoing femoral fracture surgery.Methods:Eighty elderly patients undergoing femoral fracture surgery who did not apply FMEA in Suzhou BenQ Medical Center from June 1,2022 to May 31,2023 were selected as the control group.According to the equal group experiment method,80 elderly patients who were managed using FMEA from June 1,2023 to May 31,2024 were selected as the FMEA group.The control group received traditional nursing management,while the FMEA group applied FMEA to analyze failure causes,calculate Risk Priority Numbers(RPNs),identify failure modes with higher RPNs,analyze the influencing factors,develop improvement measures,and optimize processes.The RPN values and the incidence of DVT,as well as nursing satisfaction scores,were compared in the two groups.Results:Compared with the control group,the total RPN values of the FEMA group decreased significantly,with a reduction rate of 87.0%.Besides,the incidence of DVT was 1.3%in the FMEA group,lower than 10.0%in the control group(8/80).What’s more,the patients in the FMEA group were more satisfied with the nursing service compared with the patients in the control group.Conclusion:The application of the FMEA in elderly patients undergoing femoral fracture surgery has demonstrated its potential to prevent the incidence of DVT,lower RPN values,and improve nursing satisfaction. 展开更多

This study explores off-grid power generation business models in the Lao People's Democratic Republic(Lao PDR),with the objective of identifying viable pathways to expand energy access in rural and underserved regions.The research aims to analyze and evaluate various business models in terms of their technical,economic,and social viability within the unique geographic and policy context of Lao PDR.There are two level of the research objectives:High Level Objectives(HLO)and Concreted Research Objectives(CRO).For HLO is that an appropriated off-grid power generation business model for Laos supports the Lao PDR Government’s commitment to promote an inclusive green growth development agenda that ensures lowered GHG emissions and increased energy efficiency.The Lao PDR National Determined Contribution(NDC)to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change(UNFCCC)notes the country’s ambitious plans to lower energy consumption and reduce GHG emissions.While the CRO are focused on learning strategies,regulation and practical lessons from other countries the ASEAN region on the off-grid development and business model.To analyze and investigate the environmental strategy of business model under external and internal context and related and considered factors.And finally,this is to conclude and recommend the off-grid power generation business model as the research conclusion,which will become a support mechanism for the companies to operate consistently over many years into the future according to ambitious goal for supplying modern and save energy for rural families by 2030. 展开更多

Risk analysis of reservoir flood control operation mode with forecast information (FCOMFI) is an important basis for the design and implementation of FCOMFI. Most of current researches on this issue are incomplete as they only consider flood forecast errors, but not many other uncertainties in reservoir routing. In order to obtain an integrated risk rate of FCOMFI, this paper analyzes four uncertainties, i.e. hydrological, hydraulic, stage-storage uncertainty and time-delay uncertainty, as well as their probability distributions. On the basis of this analysis, an integrated risk analysis model of FCOMFI for reservoirs and its lower reach is established involving the above-mentioned four uncertainties, and this model is solved by Monte Carlo simulation based on Latin hypercube sampling. The simulation results, with Baiguishan reservoir as the example, show that the integrated risk rates of FCOMFI are less than those of the flood control operation mode without forecast information. This article presents the highest limited water level that satisfies flood control safety requirements of the lower reach. 展开更多

Vibration signals from diesel engine contain many different components mainly caused by combustion and mechanism operations,several blind source separation techniques are available for decomposing the signal into its components in the case of multichannel measurements,such as independent component analysis(ICA).However,the source separation of vibration signal from single-channel is impossible.In order to study the source separation from single-channel signal for the purpose of source extraction,the combination method of empirical mode decomposition(EMD) and ICA is proposed in diesel engine signal processing.The performance of the described methods of EMD-wavelet and EMD-ICA in vibration signal application is compared,and the results show that EMD-ICA method outperforms the other,and overcomes the drawback of ICA in the case of single-channel measurement.The independent source signal components can be separated and identified effectively from one-channel measurement by EMD-ICA.Hence,EMD-ICA improves the extraction and identification abilities of source signals from diesel engine vibration measurements. 展开更多

In order to reduce the errors of the reliability of the retaining wall structure in the establishment of function, in the estimation of parameter and algorithm, firstly, two new reliability and stability models of anti-slipping and anti-overturning based on the upper-bound theory of limit analysis were established, and two kinds of failure modes were regarded as a series of systems with multiple correlated failure modes. Then, statistical characteristics of parameters of the retaining wall structure were inferred by maximal entropy principle. At last, the structural reliabilities of single failure mode and multiple failure modes were calculated by Monte Carlo method in MATLAB and the results were compared and analyzed on the sensitivity. It indicates that this method, with a high precision, is not only easy to program and quick in calculation, but also without the limit of nonlinear functions and non-normal random variables. And the results calculated by this method which applies both the limit analysis theory, maximal entropy principle and Monte Carlo method into analyzing the reliability of the retaining wall structures is more scientific, accurate and reliable, in comparison with those calculated by traditional method. 展开更多

The reachinglaw based sliding mode controller is applied in the proposedsystem. The exponential stability condition in the form of linearmatrix inequality is figured out based on the multi-Lyaponov functionmethod. Then, the chattering characteristic is analyzed for theswitching system, and a chattering region related with time varyingsampling period and external disturbance is proposed. One of the important issues in the system identification and the spectrum analysis is the frequency resolution, i.e., the capability of distinguishing between two or more closely spaced frequency components. In the modal identification by the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) method, because of the separating capability of the method, it is still a challenge to consistently and reliably identify the parameters of structures of which modes are not well separated. A new method is introduced to generate the intrin- sic mode functions (IMFs) through the filtering algorithm based on the wavelet packet decomposition (GIFWPD). In this paper, it is demonstrated that the CIFWPD method alone has a good capability of separating close modes, even under the severe condition beyond the critical frequency ratio limit which makes it impossible to separate two closely spaced harmonics by the EMD method. However, the GIFWPD-only based method is impelled to use a very fine sampling frequency with consequent prohibitive computational costs. Therefore, in order to decrease the computational load by reducing the amount of samples and improve the effectiveness of separation by increasing the frequency ratio, the present paper uses a combination of the complex envelope displacement analysis (CEDA) and the GIFWPD method. For the validation, two examples from the previous works are taken to show the results obtained by the GIFWPD-only based method and by combining the CEDA with the GIFWPD method. 展开更多

A combination of the lattice Boltzmann method and the most recently developed dynamic mode decomposition is proposed for stability analysis. The simulations are performed on a graphical processing unit. Stability of the flow past a cylinder at supercritical state, Re = 50, is studied by the combination for both the exponential growing and the limit cycle regimes. The Ritz values, energy spectrum, and modes for both regimes are presented and compared with the Koopman eigenvalues. For harmonic-like periodic flow in the limit cycle, global analysis from the combination gives the same results as those from the Koopman analysis. For transient flow as in the exponential growth regime, the combination can provide more reasonable results. It is demonstrated that the combination of the lattice Boltzmann method and the dynamic mode decomposition is powerful and can be used for stability analysis for more complex flows. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Craniocerebral injuries encompass brain injuries,skull fractures,cranial soft tissue injuries,and similar injuries.Recently,the incidence of craniocerebral injuries has increased dramatically due to the increased numbers of traffic accidents and aerial work injuries,threatening the physical and mental health of patients.AIM To investigate the impact of failure modes and effects analysis(FMEA)-based emergency management on craniocerebral injury treatment effectiveness.METHODS Eighty-four patients with craniocerebral injuries,treated at our hospital from November 2019 to March 2021,were selected and assigned,using the random number table method,to study(n=42)and control(n=42)groups.Patients in the control group received conventional management while those in the study group received FMEA theory-based emergency management,based on the control group.Pre-and post-interventions,details regarding the emergency situation;levels of inflammatory stress indicators[Interleukin-6(IL-6),C-reactive protein(CRP),and procalcitonin(PCT)];incidence of complications;prognoses;and satisfaction regarding patient care were evaluated for both groups.RESULTS For the study group,the assessed parameters[pre-hospital emergency response time(9.13±2.37 min),time to receive a consultation(2.39±0.44 min),time needed to report imaging findings(1.15±4.44 min),and test reporting time(32.19±6.23 min)]were shorter than those for the control group(12.78±4.06 min,3.58±0.71 min,33.49±5.51 min,50.41±11.45 min,respectively;P<0.05).Pre-intervention serum levels of IL-6(78.71±27.59 pg/mL),CRP(19.80±6.77 mg/L),and PCT(3.66±1.82 ng/mL)in the study group patients were not significantly different from those in the control group patients(81.31±32.11 pg/mL,21.29±8.02 mg/L,and 3.95±2.11 ng/mL respectively;P>0.05);post-intervention serum indicator levels were lower in both groups than pre-intervention levels.Further,serum levels of IL-6(17.35±5.33 pg/mL),CRP(2.27±0.56 mg/L),and PCT(0.22±0.07 ng/mL)were lower in the study group than in the control group(30.15±12.38 pg/mL,3.13±0.77 mg/L,0.38±0.12 ng/mL,respectively;P<0.05).The complication rate observed in the study group(9.52%)was lower than that in the control group(26.19%,P<0.05).The prognoses for the study group patients were better than those for the control patients(P<0.05).Patient care satisfaction was higher in the study group(95.24%)than in the control group(78.57%,P<0.05).CONCLUSION FMEA-based craniocerebral injury management effectively shortens the time spent on emergency care,reduces inflammatory stress and complication risk levels,and helps improve patient prognoses,while achieving high patient care satisfaction levels. 展开更多

According to the fact that the actual inductor and actual capacitor are fractional, the mathematical and state-space averaging models of fractional order Buck converters in continuous conduction mode(CCM) are constructed by using fractional calculus theory. Firstly, the parameter conditions that ensure that the converter working in CCM is given and transfer functions are derived. Also, the inductor current and the output voltage are analyzed. Then the difference between the mathematical model and the circuit model are analyzed, and the effect of fractional order is studied by comparing the integer order with fractional order model. Finally, the dynamic behavior of the current-controlled Buck converter is investigated. Simulation experiments are achieved via the use of Matlab/Simulink. The experimental results verify the correctness of theoretical analysis, the order should be taken as a significant parameter. When the order is taken as a bifurcation parameter, the dynamic behavior of the converter will be affected and bifurcation points will be changed as order varies. 展开更多

The stability, accuracy, and dispersion of a semi implicit finite difference scheme for the numerical solution of external mode were carefully analyzed in this study. The stability analysis was implemented with the von Neumann method and proved that the scheme is unconditionally stable. Study of their accuracy showed that the finite difference equations were consistent with the differential equations with second order accuracy. The Eulerian Lagrangian discretization of the convective terms was also discussed. The existence of dispersion was proved to be unfavorable for the achievement of the real solution. 展开更多

Structural health monitoring (SHM) is a relevant topic for civil systems and involves the monitoring, data processing and interpretation to evaluate the condition of a structure, in order to detect damage. In real structures, two or more sites or types of damage can be present at the same time. It has been shown that one kind of damaged condition can interfere with the detection of another kind of damage, leading to an incorrect assessment about the structure condition. Identifying combined damage on structures still represents a challenge for condition monitoring, because the reliable identification of a combined damaged condition is a difficult task. Thus, this work presents a fusion of methodologies, where a single wavelet-packet and the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) method are combined with artificial neural networks (ANNs) for the automated and online identification-location of single or multiple-combined damage in a scaled model of a five-bay truss-type structure. Results showed that the proposed methodology is very efficient and reliable for identifying and locating the three kinds of damage, as well as their combinations. Therefore, this methodology could be applied to detection-location of damage in real truss-type structures, which would help to improve the characteristics and life span of real structures. 展开更多

This paper aims to solve the resonance failure probability and develop an effective method to estimate the effects of variables and failure modes on failure probability of axially functionally graded material(FGM)pipe conveying fluid.Correspondingly,the natural frequency of axially FGM pipes conveying fluid is calculated using the differential quadrature method(DQM).A variable sensitivity analysis(VSA)is introduced to measure the effect of each random variable,and a mode sensitivity analysis(MSA)is introduced to acquire the importance ranking of failure modes.Then,an active learning Kriging(ALK)method is established to calculate the resonance failure probability and sensitivity indices,which greatly improves the application of resonance reliability analysis for pipelines in engineering practice.Based on the resonance reliability analysis method,the effects of fluid velocity,volume fraction and fluid density of axially FGM pipe conveying fluid on resonance reliability are analyzed.The results demonstrate that the proposed method has great performance in the anti-resonance analysis of pipes conveying fluid. 展开更多

Li transient concentration distribution in spherical active material particles can affect the maximum power density and the safe operating regime of the electric vehicles(EVs). On one hand, the quasiexact/exact solution obtained in the time/frequency domain is time-consuming and just as a reference value for approximate solutions;on the other hand, calculation errors and application range of approximate solutions not only rely on approximate algorithms but also on discharge modes. For the purpose to track the transient dynamics for Li solid-phase diffusion in spherical active particles with a tolerable error range and for a wide applicable range, it is necessary to choose optimal approximate algorithms in terms of discharge modes and the nature of active material particles. In this study, approximation methods,such as diffusion length method, polynomial profile approximation method, Padé approximation method,pseudo steady state method, eigenfunction-based Galerkin collocation method, and separation of variables method for solving Li solid-phase diffusion in spherical active particles are compared from calculation fundamentals to algorithm implementation. Furthermore, these approximate solutions are quantitatively compared to the quasi-exact/exact solution in the time/frequency domain under typical discharge modes, i.e., start-up, slow-down, and speed-up. The results obtained from the viewpoint of time-frequency analysis offer a theoretical foundation on how to track Li transient concentration profile in spherical active particles with a high precision and for a wide application range. In turn, optimal solutions of Li solid diffusion equations for spherical active particles can improve the reliability in predicting safe operating regime and estimating maximum power for automotive batteries. 展开更多

Discrete models such as the lumped parameter model and the finite element model are widely used in the solution of soil amplification of earthquakes. However, neither of the models will accurately estimate the natural frequencies of soil deposit, nor simulate a damping of frequency independence. This research develops a new discrete model for onedimensional viscoelastic response analysis of layered soil deposit based on the mode equivalence method. The new discrete model is a one-dimensional equivalent multi-degree-of-freedom(MDOF) system characterized by a series of concentrated masses, springs and dashpots with a special configuration. The dynamic response of the equivalent MDOF system is analytically derived and the physical parameters are formulated in terms of modal properties. The equivalent MDOF system is verified through a comparison of amplification functions with the available theoretical solutions. The appropriate number of degrees of freedom(DOFs) in the equivalent MDOF system is estimated. A comparative study of the equivalent MDOF system with the existing discrete models is performed. It is shown that the proposed equivalent MDOF system can exactly present the natural frequencies and the hysteretic damping of soil deposits and provide more accurate results with fewer DOFs. 展开更多
