An internal state variable(ISV)model was established according to the experimental results of hot plane strain compression(PSC)to predict the microstructure evolution during hot spinning of ZK61 alloy. The effects of the internal variables were considered in this ISV model, and the parameters were optimized by genetic algorithm. After validation, the ISV model was used to simulate the evolution of grain size(GS)and dynamic recrystallization(DRX)fraction during hot spinning via Abaqus and its subroutine Vumat.By comparing the simulated results with the experimental results, the application of the ISV model was proven to be reliable.Meanwhile, the strength of the thin-walled spun ZK61 tube increased from 303 to 334 MPa due to grain refinement by DRX and texture strengthening.Besides, some ultrafine grains(0.5μm)that played an important role in mechanical properties were formed due to the proliferation, movement, and entanglement of dislocations during the spinning process. 展开更多

Large-scale Language Models(LLMs)have achieved significant breakthroughs in Natural Language Processing(NLP),driven by the pre-training and fine-tuning paradigm. While this approach allows models to specialize in specific tasks with reduced training costs, the substantial memory requirements during fine-tuning present a barrier to broader deployment.Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning(PEFT)techniques,such as Low-Rank Adaptation(LoRA),and parameter quantization methods have emerged as solutions to address these challenges by optimizing memory usage and computational efficiency.Among these,QLoRA,which combines PEFT and quantization, has demonstrated notable success in reducing memory footprints during fine-tuning,prompting the development of various QLoRA variants.Despite these advancements, the quantitative impact of key variables on the fine-tuning performance of quantized LLMs remains underexplored. This study presents a comprehensive analysis of these key variables, focusing on their influence across different layer types and depths within LLM architectures. Our investigation uncovers several critical findings:(1)Larger layers, such as MLP layers, can maintain performance despite reductions in adapter rank, while smaller layers, like self-attention layers, aremore sensitive to such changes;(2)The effectiveness of balancing factors depends more on specific values rather than layer type or depth;(3)In quantization-aware fine-tuning,larger layers can effectively utilize smaller adapters, whereas smaller layers struggle to do so.These insights suggest that layer type is a more significant determinant of fine-tuning success than layer depth when optimizing quantized LLMs.Moreover, for the same discount of trainable parameters, reducing the trainable parameters in a larger layer is more effective in preserving fine-tuning accuracy than in a smaller one. This study provides valuable guidance for more efficient fine-tuning strategies and opens avenues for further research into optimizing LLM fine-tuning in resource-constrained environments. 展开更多

In clinical research, subgroup analysis can help identify patient groups that respond better or worse to specific treatments, improve therapeutic effect and safety, and is of great significance in precision medicine. This article considers subgroup analysis methods for longitudinal data containing multiple covariates and biomarkers. We divide subgroups based on whether a linear combination of these biomarkers exceeds a predetermined threshold, and assess the heterogeneity of treatment effects across subgroups using the interaction between subgroups and exposure variables.Quantile regression is used to better characterize the global distribution of the response variable and sparsity penalties are imposed to achieve variable selection of covariates and biomarkers. The effectiveness of our proposed methodology for both variable selection and parameter estimation is verified through random simulations. Finally,we demonstrate the application of this method by analyzing data from the PA.3 trial, further illustrating the practicality of the method proposed in this paper. 展开更多

The work comparing the Yamada-Ota and Xue models for nanoparticle flow across a stretching surface has benefits in nanotechnology, medicinal treatments, environmental engineering, renewable energy, and heat exchangers. Most published nanofluid flow models assumed constant thermal conductivity and viscosity. With such great physiognomies in mind, the novelty of this work focuses on comparing the performance of the nanofluid models,Xue,and Yamada-Ota models on a stretched sheet with variable thickness under the influence of a magnetic field and quadratic thermal radiation. The altered boundary layer equations for momentum and temperature, subject to adequate boundary conditions, are numerically solved using an optimized, efficient, and extensive bvp-4c approach. The effects of non-dimensional constraints such as magnetic field, power index of velocity, wall thickness parameter, and quadratic radiation parameter on momentum and temperature profile in the boundary layer area are analyzed thoroughly and outcomes were illustrated graphically.Additionally, the consequences of certain distinctive parameters over engineering factors are also examined and results were presented in tabular form. From the outcomes,it is seen that fluid velocity slows down in the presence of a magnetic field but the opposite nature is observed in the case of temperature profile. With a higher index of velocity, the velocity profile decreases and the temperature field elevates. It has been found that the presence of quadratic convection improves the temperature field. The outcomes of the two models are compared. The Yamada-Ota model performed far better than the Xue model in the heat transfer analysis. 展开更多

Climate change and human activities are primary drivers of runoff variations, significantly impacting the hydrological balance of river basins. In recent decades, the Yellow River Basin,China has experienced a marked decline in runoff, posing challenges to the sustainable development of regional water resources and ecosystem stability. To enhance the understanding of runoff dynamics in the basin,we selected the Dahei River Basin,a representative tributary in the upper reaches of the Yellow River Basin as the study area.A comprehensive analysis of runoff trends and contributing factors was conducted using the data on hydrology, meteorology, and water resource development and utilization.Abrupt change years of runoff series in the Dahei River Basin was identified by the Mann-Kendall and Pettitt tests:1999 at Dianshang,Qixiaying, and Meidai hydrological stations and 1995 at Sanliang hydrological station.Through hydrological simulations based on the Variable Infiltration Capacity(VIC)model,we quantified the factors driving runoff evolution in the Dahei River Basin, with climate change contributing 9.92%–22.91%and human activities contributing 77.09%–90.08%.The Budyko hypothesis method provided similar results, with climate change contributing 13.06%–20.89%and human activities contributing 79.11%–86.94%.Both methods indicated that human activities, particularly water consumption, were dominant factors in the runoff variations of the Dahei River Basin. The integration of hydrological modeling with attribution analysis offers valuable insights into runoff evolution, facilitating adaptive strategies to mitigate water scarcity in arid and semi-arid areas. 展开更多

This work investigates water-based micropolar hybrid nanofluid(MHNF) flow on an elongating variable porous sheet.Nanoparticles of diamond and copper have been used in the water to boost its thermal conductivity. The motion of the fluid is taken as two-dimensional with the impact of a magnetic field in the normal direction. The variable, permeable, and stretching nature of sheet's surface sets the fluid into motion. Thermal and mass diffusions are controlled through the use of the Cattaneo–Christov flux model. A dataset is generated using MATLAB bvp4c package solver and employed to train an artificial neural network(ANN) based on the Levenberg–Marquardt back-propagation(LMBP) algorithm. It has been observed as an outcome of this study that the modeled problem achieves peak performance at epochs 637, 112, 4848, and 344 using ANN-LMBP. The linear velocity of the fluid weakens with progression in variable porous and magnetic factors. With an augmentation in magnetic factor, the micro-rotational velocity profiles are augmented on the domain 0 ≤ η < 1.5 due to the support of micro-rotations by Lorentz forces close to the sheet's surface, while they are suppressed on the domain 1.5 ≤ η < 6.0 due to opposing micro-rotations away from the sheet's surface. Thermal distributions are augmented with an upsurge in thermophoresis, Brownian motion, magnetic, and radiation factors, while they are suppressed with an upsurge in thermal relaxation parameter. Concentration profiles increase with an expansion in thermophoresis factor and are suppressed with an intensification of Brownian motion factor and solute relaxation factor. The absolute errors(AEs) are evaluated for all the four scenarios that fall within the range 10^(-3)–10^(-8) and are associated with the corresponding ANN configuration that demonstrates a fine degree of accuracy. 展开更多

Consider the partly linear model Y = xβ + g(t) + e where the explanatory x is erroneously measured, and both t and the response Y are measured exactly, the random error e is a martingale difference sequence. Let ~ be a surrogate variable observed instead of the true x in the primary survey data. Assume that in addition to the primary data set containing N observations of {(Yj, xj, tj)n+N j=n+1 }, the independent validation data containing n observations of {(xj, x j, tj)n j=1 } is available. In this paper, a semiparametric method with the primary data is employed to obtain the estimator ofβ and g(-) based on the least squares criterion with the help of validation data. The proposed estimators are proved to be strongly consistent. Finite sample behavior of the estimators is investigated via simulations too. 展开更多

This paper proposes a hybrid architecture based on Multi-disciplinary Design Optimization(MDO) with the Variable Complexity Modeling(VCM) method, to solve the problem of general design optimization for a stratosphere airship. Firstly, MDO based on the Concurrent SubSpace Optimization(CSSO) strategy is improved for handling the subsystem coupling problem in stratosphere airship design which contains aerodynamics, structure, and energy. Secondly, the VCM method based on the surrogate model is presented for reducing the computational complexity in high-fidelity modeling without loss of accuracy. Moreover, the global-to-local optimization strategy is added to the architecture to enhance the process. Finally, the result gives a prominent stratosphere airship general solution that validates the feasibility and efficiency of the optimization architecture. Besides, a sensitivity analysis is conducted to outline the critical impact upon stratosphere airship design. 展开更多

Forward Variable Area Bypass Injector(FVABI)is one of key components which contributes to modulate the cycle parameters of Variable Cycle Engine(VCE)under various operation conditions. The modeling method of zero-dimensional FVABI was reviewed and its deficiency was analyzed based on FVABI flow characteristic. In order to improve the accuracy of VCE performance simulation, the high-fidelity modeling method of FVABI was developed based on its working characteristics. Then it was coupled with the zero-dimensional VCE model and the multi-level VCE model was built. The results indicate that the geometric and aerodynamic parameters can affect the interaction between the two airflows and the zero-dimensional FVABI model is too simple to predict the component performance accurately, especially when the FVABI inner bypass is chocked.Based on the performance curves for single bypass mode and the regression model of multi-scale support vector regression for double bypass mode, the high-fidelity model can predict FVABI performance accurately and rapidly. The integration of high-fidelity FVABI model into zerodimensional VCE model can be done by adjusting iterative variables and balance equations. The multi-level model has good convergence and it can predict VCE performance when the FVABI inner bypass is chocked. 展开更多

To investigate the interaction between the tropical Pacific and China seas a variable-grid global ocean circulation model with fine grid covering the area from 20°S to 50°N and from 99° to 150°E is developed. Numerical computation of the annually cyclic circulation fields is performed. The results of the annual mean zonal currents and deep to abyssal western boundary currents in the equatorial Pacific Ocean are reported. The North Equatorial Current, the North Equatorial Countercurrent, the South Equatorial Current and the Equatorial Undercurrent are fairly well simulated. The model well reproduces the northward flowing abyssal western boundary current. From the model results a lower deep western boundary current east of the Bismarck-Solomon-New Hebrides Island chain at depths around 2 000 m has been found. The model results also show that the currents in the equatorial Pacific Ocean have multi-layer structures both in zonal currents and western boundary currents, indicating that the global ocean overturning thermohaline circulation appears of multi-layer pattern. 展开更多

We study the localized coherent structures ofa generally nonintegrable (2+ 1 )-dimensional KdV equation via a variable separation approach. In a special integrable case, the entrance of some arbitrary functions leads to abundant coherent structures. However, in the general nonintegrable case, an additional condition has to be introduced for these arbitrary functions. Although the additional condition has been introduced into the solutions of the nonintegrable KdV equation, there still exist many interesting solitary wave structures. Especially, the nonintegrable KdV equation possesses the breather-like localized excitations, and the similar static ring soliton solutions as in the integrable case. Furthermor,in the integrable case, the interaction between two travelling ring solitons is elastic, while in the nonintegrable case we cannot find even the single travelling ring soliton solution. 展开更多

To investigate the height growth of multi-cluster fractures during variable fluid-viscosity fracturing in a layered shale oil reservoir,a two-dimensional finite element method(FEM)-discrete fracture network(DFN)model coupled with flow, stress and damage is proposed.A traction-separation law is used to describe the mixed-mode response of the damaged adhesive fractures, and the cubic law is used to describe the fluid flow within the fractures. The rock deformation is controlled by the in-situ stress, fracture cohesion and fluid pressure on the hydraulic fracture surface. The coupled finite element equations are solved by the explicit time difference method. The effects of the fracturing treatment parameters including fluid viscosity, pumping rate and cluster spacing on the geometries of multifractures are investigated. The results show that variable fluid-viscosity injection can improve the complexity of the fracture network and height of the main fractures simultaneously. The pumping rate of15 m^(3)/min,variable fluid-viscosity of 3-9-21-36-45 mPa s with a cluster spacing of 7.5 m is the ideal treatment strategy. The field application shows that the peak daily production of the application well with the optimized injection procedu re of variable fluid-viscosity fracturing is 171 tons(about 2.85 times that of the adjacent well),which is the highest daily production record of a single shale oil well in China, marking a strategic breakthrough of commercial shale oil production in the Jiyang Depression,Shengli Oilfield. The variable fluid-viscosity fracturing technique is proved to be very effective for improving shale oil production. 展开更多

In this study,a dynamic model for the bearing rotor system of a high-speed train under variable speed conditions is established. In contrast to previous studies, the contact stress is simplifed in the proposed model and the compensation balance excitation caused by the rotor mass eccentricity considered. The angle iteration method is used to overcome the challenge posed by the inability to determine the roller space position during bearing rotation. The simulation results show that the model accurately describes the dynamics of bearings under varying speed profles that contain acceleration, deceleration, and speed oscillation stages. The order ratio spectrum of the bearing vibration signal indicates that both the single and multiple frequencies in the simulation results are consistent with the theoretical results.Experiments on bearings with outer and inner ring faults under various operating conditions are performed to verify the developed model. 展开更多

An integrated framework is presented to represent and classify process data for on-line identifying abnormal operating conditions. It is based on pattern recognition principles and consists of a feature extraction step, by which wavelet transform and principal component analysis are used to capture the inherent characteristics from process measurements, followed by a similarity assessment step using hidden Markov model (HMM) for pattern comparison. In most previous cases, a fixed-length moving window was employed to track dynamic data, and often failed to capture enough information for each fault and sometimes even deteriorated the diagnostic performance. A variable moving window, the length of which is modified with time, is introduced in this paper and case studies on the Tennessee Eastman process illustrate the potential of the proposed method. 展开更多

Horizontal wells are commonly used in bottom water reservoirs, which can increase contact area between wellbores and reservoirs. There are many completion methods used to control cresting, among which variable density perforation is an effective one.It is difficult to evaluate well productivity and to analyze inflow profiles of horizontal wells with quantities of unevenly distributed perforations, which are characterized by different parameters. In this paper, fluid flow in each wellbore perforation,as well as the reservoir, was analyzed.A comprehensive model, coupling the fluid flow in the reservoir and the wellbore pressure drawdown, was developed based on potential functions and solved using the numerical discrete method. Then,a bottom water cresting model was established on the basis of the piston-like displacement principle. Finally, bottom water cresting parameters and factors influencing inflow profile were analyzed.A more systematic optimization method was proposed by introducing the concept of cumulative free-water production, which could maintain a balance(or then a balance is achieved)between stabilizing oil production and controlling bottom water cresting. Results show that the inflow profile is affected by the perforation distribution.Wells with denser perforation density at the toe end and thinner density at the heel end may obtain low production, but the water breakthrough time is delayed.Taking cumulative free-water production as a parameter to evaluate perforation strategies is advisable in bottom water reservoirs. 展开更多
