Deployable Composite Thin-Walled Structures(DCTWS)are widely used in space applications due to their ability to compactly fold and self-deploy in orbit,enabled by cutouts.Cutout design is crucial for balancing structu...Deployable Composite Thin-Walled Structures(DCTWS)are widely used in space applications due to their ability to compactly fold and self-deploy in orbit,enabled by cutouts.Cutout design is crucial for balancing structural rigidity and flexibility,ensuring material integrity during large deformations,and providing adequate load-bearing capacity and stability once deployed.Most research has focused on optimizing cutout size and shape,while topology optimization offers a broader design space.However,the anisotropic properties of woven composite laminates,complex failure criteria,and multi-performance optimization needs have limited the exploration of topology optimization in this field.This work derives the sensitivities of bending stiffness,critical buckling load,and the failure index of woven composite materials with respect to element density,and formulates both single-objective and multi-objective topology optimization models using a linear weighted aggregation approach.The developed method was integrated with the commercial finite element software ABAQUS via a Python script,allowing efficient application to cutout design in various DCTWS configurations to maximize bending stiffness and critical buckling load under material failure constraints.Optimization of a classical tubular hinge resulted in improvements of 107.7%in bending stiffness and 420.5%in critical buckling load compared to level-set topology optimization results reported in the literature,validating the effectiveness of the approach.To facilitate future research and encourage the broader adoption of topology optimization techniques in DCTWS design,the source code for this work is made publicly available via a Git Hub link:https://github.com/jinhao-ok1/Topo-for-DCTWS.git.展开更多

The beam pumping unit(BPU)remains the most stable and reliable equipment for crude oil lifting.Despite its simple four-link mechanism,the structural design of the BPU presents a constrained single-objective optimizati...The beam pumping unit(BPU)remains the most stable and reliable equipment for crude oil lifting.Despite its simple four-link mechanism,the structural design of the BPU presents a constrained single-objective optimization problem.Currently,a comprehensive framework for the structural design and optimization of compound balanced BPUs is lacking.Therefore,this study proposes a novel structural design scheme for BPUs,aiming to meet the practical needs of designers and operators by sequentially optimizing both the dynamic characteristics and balance properties of the BPUs.A dynamic model of compound balanced BPU was established based on D'Alembert's principle.The constraints for structural dimensions were formulated based on the actual operational requirements and design experience with BPUs.To optimize the structure,three algorithms were employed:the particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm,the genetic algorithm(GA),and the gray wolf optimization(GWO)algorithm.Each newly generated individuals are regulated by constraints to ensure the rationality of the outcomes.Furthermore,the integration of three algorithms ensures the increased likelihood of attaining the global optimal solution.The polished rod acceleration of the optimized structure is significantly reduced,and the dynamic characteristics of the up and down strokes are essentially symmetrical.Additionally,these three algorithms are also applied to the balance optimization of BPUs based on the measured dynamometer card.The calculation results demonstrate that the GWO-based optimization method exhibits excellent robustness in terms of structural optimization by enhancing the operational smoothness of the BPU,as well as in balance optimization by achieving energy conservation.By applying the optimization scheme proposed in this paper,the CYJW7-3-23HF type of BPU was designed,achieving a maximum polished rod acceleration of±0.675 m/s^(2) when operating at a stroke of 6 min^(−1).When deployed in two wells,the root-mean-square(RMS)torque was minimized,reaching values of 7.539 kN·m and 12.921 kN·m,respectively.The proposed design method not only contributes to the personalized customization but also improves the design efficiency of compound balanced BPUs.展开更多
Graphite-silicon species(Gr-Si)hybrid anodes have merged as potential candidates for high-energy lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),yet long been plagued by rapid capacity fading due to their unstable mechano-electrochemistr...Graphite-silicon species(Gr-Si)hybrid anodes have merged as potential candidates for high-energy lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),yet long been plagued by rapid capacity fading due to their unstable mechano-electrochemistry.The dominant approach to enhance electrochemical stability of the Gr-Si hybrid anodes typically involves the optimization of the electrode material structures and the employment of low active Si species content in electrode(<10 wt%in most instances).However,the electrode structure design,a factor of equal importance in determining the electrochemical performance of Gr-Si hybrid anodes,has received scant attention.In this study,three Gr-Si hybrid anodes with the identical material composition but distinct electrode structures are designed to investigate the mechanoelectrochemistry of the electrodes.It is revealed that the substantial volume change of Si species particles in Gr-Si hybrid anodes led to the local lattice stress of Gr at their contact interface during the charge/discharge processes,thereby increasing thermodynamic and kinetic barrier of Li-ion migration.Furthermore,the huge disparity in volume change of Si species and Gr particles trigger the separate agglomeration of these two materials,resulting in a considerable electrode volume change and increased electrochemical resistance.An advanced Gr/Si hybrid anode with upper Gr and lower Si species layer structure design addresses the above challenges using photovoltaic waste silicon sources under high Si species content(17 wt%)and areal capacity(2.0 mA h cm^(-2))in Ah-level full pouch cells with a low negative/positive(N/P)ratio of 1.09.The cell shows stable cycling for 100 cycles at 0.3 C with an impressively low capacity decay rate of 0.0546%per cycle,outperforming most reported Gr-Si hybrid anodes.展开更多
This paper presents a deep learning-based topology optimization method for the joint design of material layout and fiber orientation in continuous fiber-reinforced composite structure(CFRCS).The proposed method mainly...This paper presents a deep learning-based topology optimization method for the joint design of material layout and fiber orientation in continuous fiber-reinforced composite structure(CFRCS).The proposed method mainly includes three steps:(1)a ResUNet-involved generative and adversarial network(ResUNet-GAN)is developed to establish the end-to-end mapping from structural design parameters to fiber-reinforced composite optimized structure,and a fiber orientation chromatogram is presented to represent continuous fiber angles;(2)to avoid the local optimum problem,the independent continuous mapping method(ICM method)considering the improved principal stress orientation interpolated continuous fiber angle optimization(PSO-CFAO)strategy is utilized to construct CFRCS topology optimization dataset;(3)the well-trained ResUNet-GAN is deployed to design the optimal structural material distribution together with the corresponding continuous fiber orientations.Numerical simulations for benchmark structure verify that the proposed method greatly improves the design efficiency of CFRCS along with high design accuracy.Furthermore,the CFRCS topology configuration designed by ResUNet-GAN is fabricated by additive manufacturing.Compression experiments of the specimens show that both the stiffness structure and peak load of the CFRCS topology configuration designed by the proposed method have significantly enhanced.The proposed deep learning-based topology optimization method will provide great flexibility in CFRCS for engineering applications.展开更多
Aqueous zinc-halogen batteries are promising candidates for large-scale energy storage due to their abundant resources,intrinsic safety,and high theoretical capacity.Nevertheless,the uncontrollable zinc dendrite growt...Aqueous zinc-halogen batteries are promising candidates for large-scale energy storage due to their abundant resources,intrinsic safety,and high theoretical capacity.Nevertheless,the uncontrollable zinc dendrite growth and spontaneous shuttle effect of active species have prohibited their practical implementation.Herein,a double-layered protective film based on zinc-ethylenediamine tetramethylene phosphonic acid(ZEA)artificial film and ZnF2-rich solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)layer has been successfully fabricated on the zinc metal anode via electrode/electrolyte synergistic optimization.The ZEA-based artificial film shows strong affinity for the ZnF2-rich SEI layer,therefore effectively suppressing the SEI breakage and facilitating the construction of double-layered protective film on the zinc metal anode.Such double-layered architecture not only modulates Zn2+flux and suppresses the zinc dendrite growth,but also blocks the direct contact between the metal anode and electrolyte,thus mitigating the corrosion from the active species.When employing optimized metal anodes and electrolytes,the as-developed zinc-(dual)halogen batteries present high areal capacity and satisfactory cycling stability.This work provides a new avenue for developing aqueous zinc-(dual)halogen batteries.展开更多
The development of high-performance structural and functional materials is vital in many industrial fields.High-and medium-entropy alloys(H/MEAs)with superior comprehensive properties owing to their specific microstru...The development of high-performance structural and functional materials is vital in many industrial fields.High-and medium-entropy alloys(H/MEAs)with superior comprehensive properties owing to their specific microstructures are promising candidates for structural materials.More importantly,multitudinous efforts have been made to regulate the microstructures and the properties of H/MEAs to further expand their industrial applications.The various heterostructures have enormous potential for the development of H/MEAs with outstanding performance.Herein,multiple heterogeneous structures with single and hierarchical heterogeneities were discussed in detail.Moreover,preparation methods for compositional inhomogeneity,bimodal structures,dualphase structures,lamella/layered structures,harmonic structures(core-shell),multiscale precipitates and heterostructures coupled with specific microstructures in H/MEAs were also systematically reviewed.The deformation mechanisms induced by the different heterostructures were thoroughly discussed to explore the relationship between the heterostructures and the optimized properties of H/MEAs.The contributions of the heterostructures and advanced microstructures to the H/MEAs were comprehensively elucidated to further improve the properties of the alloys.Finally,this review discussed the future challenges of high-performance H/MEAs for industrial applications and provides feasible methods for optimizing heterostructures to enhance the comprehensive properties of H/MEAs.展开更多

A smooth bidirectional evolutionary structural optimization(SBESO),as a bidirectional version of SESO is proposed to solve the topological optimization of vibrating continuum structures for natural frequencies and dyn...A smooth bidirectional evolutionary structural optimization(SBESO),as a bidirectional version of SESO is proposed to solve the topological optimization of vibrating continuum structures for natural frequencies and dynamic compliance under the transient load.A weighted function is introduced to regulate the mass and stiffness matrix of an element,which has the inefficient element gradually removed from the design domain as if it were undergoing damage.Aiming at maximizing the natural frequency of a structure,the frequency optimization formulation is proposed using the SBESO technique.The effects of various weight functions including constant,linear and sine functions on structural optimization are compared.With the equivalent static load(ESL)method,the dynamic stiffness optimization of a structure is formulated by the SBESO technique.Numerical examples show that compared with the classic BESO method,the SBESO method can efficiently suppress the excessive element deletion by adjusting the element deletion rate and weight function.It is also found that the proposed SBESO technique can obtain an efficient configuration and smooth boundary and demonstrate the advantages over the classic BESO technique.展开更多
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis(IPF)is a progressive lung disease and its incidence rate is rapidly rising.However,effective therapies for the treatment of IPF are still lacking.Phosphodiesterase 4(PDE4)inhibitors were ...Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis(IPF)is a progressive lung disease and its incidence rate is rapidly rising.However,effective therapies for the treatment of IPF are still lacking.Phosphodiesterase 4(PDE4)inhibitors were reported to be potential anti-fibrotic agents.Herein,structure-based hit-to-lead optimization of natural isoaurostatin(8.98μmol/L)resulted in several potent inhibitors of PDE4 with half maximal inhibitory concentration(IC_(50))values ranging from 35 nmol/L to 126 nmol/L.Co-crystal structures revealed that isoaurostatin compounds exhibited different binding patterns from the classic PDE4 inhibitor rolipram and the analogues would favor to be Z configurations other than the corresponding E isomers.Finally,lead 2–9 showed remarkable in vitro/in vivo anti-fibrotic effects indicating its potential as a novel anti-IPF agent.展开更多

Biological load-bearing materials,like the nacre in shells,have a unique staggered structure that supports their superior mechanical properties.Engineers have been encouraged to imitate it to create load-bearing bio-i...Biological load-bearing materials,like the nacre in shells,have a unique staggered structure that supports their superior mechanical properties.Engineers have been encouraged to imitate it to create load-bearing bio-inspired materials which have excellent properties not present in conventional composites.To create such materials with desirable mechanical properties,the optimum structural parameters combination must be selected.Moreover,the optimal design of bio-inspired composites needs to take into account the trade-offs between various mechanical properties.In this paper,multi-objective optimization models were developed using structural parameters as design variables and mechanical properties as optimization objectives,including stiffness,strength,toughness,and dynamic damping.Using the NSGA-II optimization algorithm,a set of optimal solutions were solved.Additionally,three different structures in natural nacre were introduced in order to utilize the better structure when design bio-inspired materials.The range of optimal solutions that obtained using results from previous research were examined and explained why this collection of optimal solution ranges is better.Also,optimal solutions were compared with the structural features and mechanical properties of real nacre and artificial biomimetic composites to validate our models.Finally,the optimum design strategies can be obtained for nacre-like composites.Our research methodically proposes an optimization method for achieving load-bearing bio-inspired materials with excellent properties and creates a set of optimal solutions from which designers can select the one that best suits their preferences,allowing the fabricated materials to demonstrate preferred performance.展开更多

The jacket structure and transition piece comprise the supporting structure of a bottom-fixed offshore wind turbine(OWT)connected to the steel tower,which determines the overall structural dynamic performance of the e...The jacket structure and transition piece comprise the supporting structure of a bottom-fixed offshore wind turbine(OWT)connected to the steel tower,which determines the overall structural dynamic performance of the entire OWT.Ideally,optimal performance can be realized by effectively coordinating two components,notwithstanding their separate design processes.In pursuit of this objective,this paper proposes a concurrent design methodology for the jacket structure and transition piece by exploiting topology optimization(TO).The TO for a three-legged jacket foundation is formulated by minimizing static compliance.In contrast to conventional TO,two separated volume fractions are imposed upon the structural design domain of the jacket structure and transition piece to ensure continuity.A 5 MW(megawatt)OWT supported by a four-legged or three-legged jacket substructure is under investigation.The external loads are derived from various design load cases that are acquired using the commercial software platform DNV Bladed(Det Norske Veritas).Through a comparative analysis of the fundamental frequency and maximum nodal deformation,it was found that the optimized solution demonstrates a reduced weight and superior stiffness.The findings demonstrate the present concurrent design approach using TO can yield significant benefits by reducing the overall design cycle and enhancing the feasibility of the final design.展开更多

文摘Deployable Composite Thin-Walled Structures(DCTWS)are widely used in space applications due to their ability to compactly fold and self-deploy in orbit,enabled by cutouts.Cutout design is crucial for balancing structural rigidity and flexibility,ensuring material integrity during large deformations,and providing adequate load-bearing capacity and stability once deployed.Most research has focused on optimizing cutout size and shape,while topology optimization offers a broader design space.However,the anisotropic properties of woven composite laminates,complex failure criteria,and multi-performance optimization needs have limited the exploration of topology optimization in this field.This work derives the sensitivities of bending stiffness,critical buckling load,and the failure index of woven composite materials with respect to element density,and formulates both single-objective and multi-objective topology optimization models using a linear weighted aggregation approach.The developed method was integrated with the commercial finite element software ABAQUS via a Python script,allowing efficient application to cutout design in various DCTWS configurations to maximize bending stiffness and critical buckling load under material failure constraints.Optimization of a classical tubular hinge resulted in improvements of 107.7%in bending stiffness and 420.5%in critical buckling load compared to level-set topology optimization results reported in the literature,validating the effectiveness of the approach.To facilitate future research and encourage the broader adoption of topology optimization techniques in DCTWS design,the source code for this work is made publicly available via a Git Hub link:https://github.com/jinhao-ok1/Topo-for-DCTWS.git.
文摘The optimization of civil engineering structures is critical for enhancing structural performance and material efficiency in engineering applications.Structural optimization approaches seek to determine the optimal design,by considering material performance,cost,and structural safety.The design approaches aim to reduce the built environment’s energy use and carbon emissions.This comprehensive review examines optimization techniques,including size,shape,topology,and multi-objective approaches,by integrating these methodologies.The trends and advancements that contribute to developing more efficient,cost-effective,and reliable structural designs were identified.The review also discusses emerging technologies,such as machine learning applications with different optimization techniques.Optimization of truss,frame,tensegrity,reinforced concrete,origami,pantographic,and adaptive structures are covered and discussed.Optimization techniques are explained,including metaheuristics,genetic algorithm,particle swarm,ant-colony,harmony search algorithm,and their applications with mentioned structure types.Linear and non-linear structures,including geometric and material nonlinearity,are distinguished.The role of optimization in active structures,structural design,seismic design,form-finding,and structural control is taken into account,and the most recent techniques and advancements are mentioned.

文摘Conformal truss-like lattice structures face significant manufacturability challenges in additive manufac-turing due to overhang angle limitations.To address this problem,we propose a novel angle-constrained optimization method grounded in the global adjustment of nodal coordinates.First,a build direction is selected to minimize the number of violating struts.Then,an angular-constraint matrix is assembled from strut direction vectors,and analytical sensitivities with respect to nodal coordinates are derived to enable efficient constrained optimization under nonlinear angular inequality constraints.Numerical studies on two complex curved-surface lattices demonstrate that all overhang violations are eliminated while only minor changes are induced in global stiffness and strength.In particular,the maximum displacement of an ergonomic insole varies by only 2.87%after optimization.The results confirm the method’s versatility and engineering robustness,providing a practical approach for additive manufacturing-oriented lattice structure design.
文摘To address the neglect of seismic performance in conventional double-girder bridge crane optimization,this paper introduces a time-history analysis-based seismic optimization methodology for crane structures.Using a 25-t nuclear power crane as a case study,a bridge frame finite element model is established and validated through static analysis,confirming its accurate representation of the physical entity’s mechanical behavior.Furthermore,with bridge mass reduction as the objective and structural strength,stiffness,stability,and seismic mechanical performance as constraints,an optimization model is developed employing the Whale Optimization Algorithm(WOA).

文摘The beam pumping unit(BPU)remains the most stable and reliable equipment for crude oil lifting.Despite its simple four-link mechanism,the structural design of the BPU presents a constrained single-objective optimization problem.Currently,a comprehensive framework for the structural design and optimization of compound balanced BPUs is lacking.Therefore,this study proposes a novel structural design scheme for BPUs,aiming to meet the practical needs of designers and operators by sequentially optimizing both the dynamic characteristics and balance properties of the BPUs.A dynamic model of compound balanced BPU was established based on D'Alembert's principle.The constraints for structural dimensions were formulated based on the actual operational requirements and design experience with BPUs.To optimize the structure,three algorithms were employed:the particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm,the genetic algorithm(GA),and the gray wolf optimization(GWO)algorithm.Each newly generated individuals are regulated by constraints to ensure the rationality of the outcomes.Furthermore,the integration of three algorithms ensures the increased likelihood of attaining the global optimal solution.The polished rod acceleration of the optimized structure is significantly reduced,and the dynamic characteristics of the up and down strokes are essentially symmetrical.Additionally,these three algorithms are also applied to the balance optimization of BPUs based on the measured dynamometer card.The calculation results demonstrate that the GWO-based optimization method exhibits excellent robustness in terms of structural optimization by enhancing the operational smoothness of the BPU,as well as in balance optimization by achieving energy conservation.By applying the optimization scheme proposed in this paper,the CYJW7-3-23HF type of BPU was designed,achieving a maximum polished rod acceleration of±0.675 m/s^(2) when operating at a stroke of 6 min^(−1).When deployed in two wells,the root-mean-square(RMS)torque was minimized,reaching values of 7.539 kN·m and 12.921 kN·m,respectively.The proposed design method not only contributes to the personalized customization but also improves the design efficiency of compound balanced BPUs.

文摘Graphite-silicon species(Gr-Si)hybrid anodes have merged as potential candidates for high-energy lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),yet long been plagued by rapid capacity fading due to their unstable mechano-electrochemistry.The dominant approach to enhance electrochemical stability of the Gr-Si hybrid anodes typically involves the optimization of the electrode material structures and the employment of low active Si species content in electrode(<10 wt%in most instances).However,the electrode structure design,a factor of equal importance in determining the electrochemical performance of Gr-Si hybrid anodes,has received scant attention.In this study,three Gr-Si hybrid anodes with the identical material composition but distinct electrode structures are designed to investigate the mechanoelectrochemistry of the electrodes.It is revealed that the substantial volume change of Si species particles in Gr-Si hybrid anodes led to the local lattice stress of Gr at their contact interface during the charge/discharge processes,thereby increasing thermodynamic and kinetic barrier of Li-ion migration.Furthermore,the huge disparity in volume change of Si species and Gr particles trigger the separate agglomeration of these two materials,resulting in a considerable electrode volume change and increased electrochemical resistance.An advanced Gr/Si hybrid anode with upper Gr and lower Si species layer structure design addresses the above challenges using photovoltaic waste silicon sources under high Si species content(17 wt%)and areal capacity(2.0 mA h cm^(-2))in Ah-level full pouch cells with a low negative/positive(N/P)ratio of 1.09.The cell shows stable cycling for 100 cycles at 0.3 C with an impressively low capacity decay rate of 0.0546%per cycle,outperforming most reported Gr-Si hybrid anodes.

文摘This paper presents a deep learning-based topology optimization method for the joint design of material layout and fiber orientation in continuous fiber-reinforced composite structure(CFRCS).The proposed method mainly includes three steps:(1)a ResUNet-involved generative and adversarial network(ResUNet-GAN)is developed to establish the end-to-end mapping from structural design parameters to fiber-reinforced composite optimized structure,and a fiber orientation chromatogram is presented to represent continuous fiber angles;(2)to avoid the local optimum problem,the independent continuous mapping method(ICM method)considering the improved principal stress orientation interpolated continuous fiber angle optimization(PSO-CFAO)strategy is utilized to construct CFRCS topology optimization dataset;(3)the well-trained ResUNet-GAN is deployed to design the optimal structural material distribution together with the corresponding continuous fiber orientations.Numerical simulations for benchmark structure verify that the proposed method greatly improves the design efficiency of CFRCS along with high design accuracy.Furthermore,the CFRCS topology configuration designed by ResUNet-GAN is fabricated by additive manufacturing.Compression experiments of the specimens show that both the stiffness structure and peak load of the CFRCS topology configuration designed by the proposed method have significantly enhanced.The proposed deep learning-based topology optimization method will provide great flexibility in CFRCS for engineering applications.

文摘Aqueous zinc-halogen batteries are promising candidates for large-scale energy storage due to their abundant resources,intrinsic safety,and high theoretical capacity.Nevertheless,the uncontrollable zinc dendrite growth and spontaneous shuttle effect of active species have prohibited their practical implementation.Herein,a double-layered protective film based on zinc-ethylenediamine tetramethylene phosphonic acid(ZEA)artificial film and ZnF2-rich solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)layer has been successfully fabricated on the zinc metal anode via electrode/electrolyte synergistic optimization.The ZEA-based artificial film shows strong affinity for the ZnF2-rich SEI layer,therefore effectively suppressing the SEI breakage and facilitating the construction of double-layered protective film on the zinc metal anode.Such double-layered architecture not only modulates Zn2+flux and suppresses the zinc dendrite growth,but also blocks the direct contact between the metal anode and electrolyte,thus mitigating the corrosion from the active species.When employing optimized metal anodes and electrolytes,the as-developed zinc-(dual)halogen batteries present high areal capacity and satisfactory cycling stability.This work provides a new avenue for developing aqueous zinc-(dual)halogen batteries.

文摘The development of high-performance structural and functional materials is vital in many industrial fields.High-and medium-entropy alloys(H/MEAs)with superior comprehensive properties owing to their specific microstructures are promising candidates for structural materials.More importantly,multitudinous efforts have been made to regulate the microstructures and the properties of H/MEAs to further expand their industrial applications.The various heterostructures have enormous potential for the development of H/MEAs with outstanding performance.Herein,multiple heterogeneous structures with single and hierarchical heterogeneities were discussed in detail.Moreover,preparation methods for compositional inhomogeneity,bimodal structures,dualphase structures,lamella/layered structures,harmonic structures(core-shell),multiscale precipitates and heterostructures coupled with specific microstructures in H/MEAs were also systematically reviewed.The deformation mechanisms induced by the different heterostructures were thoroughly discussed to explore the relationship between the heterostructures and the optimized properties of H/MEAs.The contributions of the heterostructures and advanced microstructures to the H/MEAs were comprehensively elucidated to further improve the properties of the alloys.Finally,this review discussed the future challenges of high-performance H/MEAs for industrial applications and provides feasible methods for optimizing heterostructures to enhance the comprehensive properties of H/MEAs.
文摘An effective optimization method for the shape/sizing design of composite wing structures is presented with satisfying weight-cutting results. After decoupling, a kind of two-layer cycled optimization strategy suitable for these integrated shape/sizing optimization is obtained. The uniform design method is used to provide sample points, and approximation models for shape design variables. And the results of sizing optimization are construct- ed with the quadratic response surface method (QRSM). The complex method based on QRSM is used to opti- mize the shape design variables and the criteria method is adopted to optimize the sizing design variables. Compared with the conventional method, the proposed algorithm is more effective and feasible for solving complex composite optimization problems and has good efficiency in weight cutting.

文摘A smooth bidirectional evolutionary structural optimization(SBESO),as a bidirectional version of SESO is proposed to solve the topological optimization of vibrating continuum structures for natural frequencies and dynamic compliance under the transient load.A weighted function is introduced to regulate the mass and stiffness matrix of an element,which has the inefficient element gradually removed from the design domain as if it were undergoing damage.Aiming at maximizing the natural frequency of a structure,the frequency optimization formulation is proposed using the SBESO technique.The effects of various weight functions including constant,linear and sine functions on structural optimization are compared.With the equivalent static load(ESL)method,the dynamic stiffness optimization of a structure is formulated by the SBESO technique.Numerical examples show that compared with the classic BESO method,the SBESO method can efficiently suppress the excessive element deletion by adjusting the element deletion rate and weight function.It is also found that the proposed SBESO technique can obtain an efficient configuration and smooth boundary and demonstrate the advantages over the classic BESO technique.

文摘Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis(IPF)is a progressive lung disease and its incidence rate is rapidly rising.However,effective therapies for the treatment of IPF are still lacking.Phosphodiesterase 4(PDE4)inhibitors were reported to be potential anti-fibrotic agents.Herein,structure-based hit-to-lead optimization of natural isoaurostatin(8.98μmol/L)resulted in several potent inhibitors of PDE4 with half maximal inhibitory concentration(IC_(50))values ranging from 35 nmol/L to 126 nmol/L.Co-crystal structures revealed that isoaurostatin compounds exhibited different binding patterns from the classic PDE4 inhibitor rolipram and the analogues would favor to be Z configurations other than the corresponding E isomers.Finally,lead 2–9 showed remarkable in vitro/in vivo anti-fibrotic effects indicating its potential as a novel anti-IPF agent.

文摘Capacitive deionization(CDI),as an emerging desalination technique,has been intensively explored because of its energy-saving,cost-effectiveness and sustainability.Despite the promise,CDI systems still encounter various challenges involving active sites,mass transfer and stability that severely limit their further application.So far,there is still much-limited review across material,electrodes and devices to cope with the above challenges.Notably,carbon nanotubes(CNTs),have garnered significant attention owing to their exceptional conductivity,high specific surface area(S_(BET)),unique skeleton role and superior mechanical strength.More importantly,CNTs serve multifunctional roles in CDI systems,including active materials,conductive agents,binders,and even current collectors,while also making for the thick electrode framework construction.Specifically,this review first discusses current challenges in CDI system design.Subsequently,it systemic highlights how CNTs address these issues through material innovation,electrode optimization and device integration.Eventually,a conceptual model for CNT composite self-supporting CDI systems is further proposed,aiming to exploit advanced CDI desalination systems.Overall,this review underscores the pivotal role of CNTs in overcoming technical bottlenecks and driving the practical application of CDI for sustainable water treatment.

文摘A data-driven model ofmultiple variable cutting(M-VCUT)level set-based substructure is proposed for the topology optimization of lattice structures.TheM-VCUTlevel setmethod is used to represent substructures,enriching their diversity of configuration while ensuring connectivity.To construct the data-driven model of substructure,a database is prepared by sampling the space of substructures spanned by several substructure prototypes.Then,for each substructure in this database,the stiffness matrix is condensed so that its degrees of freedomare reduced.Thereafter,the data-drivenmodel of substructures is constructed through interpolationwith compactly supported radial basis function(CS-RBF).The inputs of the data-driven model are the design variables of topology optimization,and the outputs are the condensed stiffness matrix and volume of substructures.During the optimization,this data-driven model is used,thus avoiding repeated static condensation that would requiremuch computation time.Several numerical examples are provided to verify the proposed method.

文摘Biological load-bearing materials,like the nacre in shells,have a unique staggered structure that supports their superior mechanical properties.Engineers have been encouraged to imitate it to create load-bearing bio-inspired materials which have excellent properties not present in conventional composites.To create such materials with desirable mechanical properties,the optimum structural parameters combination must be selected.Moreover,the optimal design of bio-inspired composites needs to take into account the trade-offs between various mechanical properties.In this paper,multi-objective optimization models were developed using structural parameters as design variables and mechanical properties as optimization objectives,including stiffness,strength,toughness,and dynamic damping.Using the NSGA-II optimization algorithm,a set of optimal solutions were solved.Additionally,three different structures in natural nacre were introduced in order to utilize the better structure when design bio-inspired materials.The range of optimal solutions that obtained using results from previous research were examined and explained why this collection of optimal solution ranges is better.Also,optimal solutions were compared with the structural features and mechanical properties of real nacre and artificial biomimetic composites to validate our models.Finally,the optimum design strategies can be obtained for nacre-like composites.Our research methodically proposes an optimization method for achieving load-bearing bio-inspired materials with excellent properties and creates a set of optimal solutions from which designers can select the one that best suits their preferences,allowing the fabricated materials to demonstrate preferred performance.

文摘Inflatable deployable structures inspired by origami have significant applications in space missions such as solar arrays and antennas.In this paper,a generalized Miura-ori tubular cell(GMTC)is presented as the basic cell to design a family of inflatable origami tubular structures with the targeted configuration.First,the classification of rigid foldable degree-4 vertices is studied thoroughly.Since the proposed GMTC is comprised of forming units(FU)and linking units(LU),types of FUs and LUs are investigated based on the classification of degree-4 vertices,respectively.The rigid foldability of the GMTC is presented by studying the kinematics of the FUs and LUs.Volume of the GMTC is analyzed to investigate multistable configurations of the basic cell.The variations in volume of the GMTC offer great potential for developing the inflatable tubular structure.Design method and parametric optimization of the tubular structure with targeted configuration are proposed.The feasibility of the approach is validated by the approximation of four different cases,namely parabolic,semicircular,trapezoidal,and straight-arc hybrid tubular structures.

文摘The Reliability-Based Design Optimization(RBDO)of complex engineering structures considering uncertainties has problems of being high-dimensional,highly nonlinear,and timeconsuming,which requires a significant amount of sampling simulation computation.In this paper,a basis-adaptive Polynomial Chaos(PC)-Kriging surrogate model is proposed,in order to relieve the computational burden and enhance the predictive accuracy of a metamodel.The active learning basis-adaptive PC-Kriging model is combined with a quantile-based RBDO framework.Finally,five engineering cases have been implemented,including a benchmark RBDO problem,three high-dimensional explicit problems,and a high-dimensional implicit problem.Compared with Support Vector Regression(SVR),Kriging,and polynomial chaos expansion models,results show that the proposed basis-adaptive PC-Kriging model is more accurate and efficient for RBDO problems of complex engineering structures.

文摘The jacket structure and transition piece comprise the supporting structure of a bottom-fixed offshore wind turbine(OWT)connected to the steel tower,which determines the overall structural dynamic performance of the entire OWT.Ideally,optimal performance can be realized by effectively coordinating two components,notwithstanding their separate design processes.In pursuit of this objective,this paper proposes a concurrent design methodology for the jacket structure and transition piece by exploiting topology optimization(TO).The TO for a three-legged jacket foundation is formulated by minimizing static compliance.In contrast to conventional TO,two separated volume fractions are imposed upon the structural design domain of the jacket structure and transition piece to ensure continuity.A 5 MW(megawatt)OWT supported by a four-legged or three-legged jacket substructure is under investigation.The external loads are derived from various design load cases that are acquired using the commercial software platform DNV Bladed(Det Norske Veritas).Through a comparative analysis of the fundamental frequency and maximum nodal deformation,it was found that the optimized solution demonstrates a reduced weight and superior stiffness.The findings demonstrate the present concurrent design approach using TO can yield significant benefits by reducing the overall design cycle and enhancing the feasibility of the final design.

文摘Green finance,as an important policy to promote high-quality economic development,has become a focus of attention in the academic and policy circles for its promotion of industrial structure optimization.Based on the data of six provinces in Central China from 2010 to 2023,this paper constructs a comprehensive index of green finance development by using entropy value method and empirically analyses the impact of green finance on industrial structure optimization.The results show that the level of green finance development has a significant contribution to the optimization of the industrial structure in the central region.Accordingly,this study provides suggestions for deepening green finance reform and accelerating industrial transformation and upgrading.

文摘Transportation structures such as composite pavements and railway foundations typically consist of multi-layered media designed to withstand high bearing capacity.A theoretical understanding of load transfer mechanisms in these multi-layer composites is essential,as it offers intuitive insights into parametric influences and facilitates enhanced structural performance.This paper employs an improved transfer matrix method to address the limitations of existing theoretical approaches for analyzing multi-layer composite structures.By establishing a twodimensional composite pavement model,it investigates load transfer characteristics and validates the accuracy through finite element simulation.The proposed method offers a straightforward analytical approach for examining internal interactions between structural layers.Case studies indicate that the concrete surface layer is the main load-bearing layer for most vertical normal and shear stresses.The soil base layer reduces the overall mechanical response of the substructure,while horizontal actions increase the risk of interfacial slip and cracking.Structural optimization analysis demonstrates that increasing the thickness of the concrete surface layer,enhancing the thickness and stiffness of the soil base layer,or incorporating gradient layers can significantly mitigate these risks of interfacial slip and cracking.The findings of this study can guide the optimization design,parameter analysis,and damage prevention of multi-layer composite structures.
