Effects of site conditions on earthquake ground motion and their applications in seismic design in loess region 被引量:8

The Loess Plateau is an earthquake prone region of China, where the effects of loess deposit on ground motion were discovered during the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake(Ms8.0) and the 2013 Minxian-Zhangxian earthquake(Ms6.6). The field investigations, observations, and analyses indicated that large number of casualties and tremendous economic losses were caused not only by collapse and damage of houses with poor seismic performance, landslides, but also amplification effects of site conditions, topography and thickness of loess deposit, on ground motion. In this paper, we chose Dazhai Village and Majiagou Village as the typical loess site affected by the two earthquakes for intensity evaluation, borehole exploration, temporary strong motion array, micro tremor survey, and numerical analysis. The aim is to explore the relations between amplification factors and site conditions in terms of topography and thickness of loess deposit. We also developed site amplification factors of ground motion for engineering design consideration at loess sites. The results showed that the amplification effects are more predominant with increase in thickness of loess deposit and slope height. The amplification mayincrease seismic intensity by 1 degree, PGA and predominant period by 2 times, respectively. 展开更多

In this paper, the effect of the grinding undercut of the raceways on the longitudinal pressure distribution of the profiled rollers, which are the most popular axial profile employed by the bearing manufacturers, was discussed. Based on the profiled roller geometrical equations and numerical calculation of three dimensional elastic contact problems of finite length, a new numerical method for calculating the crown drop evaluation considering the effect of grinding undercut was used. The analyses of two structure case, that roller length is greater or less than raceway width, were carried out and compared with each other. The Results show that the width of grinding undercut must be considered in determining the crown drop of rollers. 展开更多

Based on the thermal network of the two-dimensional heterojunction bipolar transistors(HBTs) array, the thermal resistance matrix is presented, including the self-heating thermal resistance and thermal coupling resistance to describe the self-heating and thermal coupling effects, respectively.For HBT cells along the emitter length direction, the thermal coupling resistance is far smaller than the self-heating thermal resistance, and the peak junction temperature is mainly determined by the self-heating thermal resistance.However, the thermal coupling resistance is in the same order with the self-heating thermal resistance for HBT cells along the emitter width direction.Furthermore, the dependence of the thermal resistance matrix on cell spacing along the emitter length direction and cell spacing along the emitter width direction is also investigated, respectively.It is shown that the moderate increase of cell spacings along the emitter length direction and the emitter width direction could effectively lower the self-heating thermal resistance and thermal coupling resistance,and hence the peak junction temperature is decreased, which sheds light on adopting a two-dimensional non-uniform cell spacing layout to improve the uneven temperature distribution.By taking a 2 × 6 HBTs array for example, a twodimensional non-uniform cell spacing layout is designed, which can effectively lower the peak junction temperature and reduce the non-uniformity of the dissipated power.For the HBTs array with optimized layout, the high power-handling capability and thermal dissipation capability are kept when the bias voltage increases. 展开更多

Identifying Combinatorial Growth Inhibitory Effects of Various Plant Extracts on Leukemia Cells through Systematic Experimental Design 被引量:1

Plant extracts are widely studied for their anti-cancer and cancer preventive effects. In this study, we compared the leukemia growth inhibition effects of seven different plant extracts, theaflavin, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), epicathechin (EC), apigenin, quercetin, chrysin and tannic acid, in vitro using the K562 erythroleukemia cell line and application of the design of experiments (DoE) methodology. Our systematic approach enabled us to isolate the main factor contribution, two-factor interactions and produced interaction relationships and/or models to describe growth inhibitory effects of different plant extracts when they are used in combination. The results identified tannic acid as the most significant inhibitor in this group and had synergistic effects with EGCG at specific concentrations. The fitted model of their combined effects showed that the most potent combination is at low concentrations of tannic acid (10 - 20 μM) and high concentrations of EGCG (80 - 100 μM). We further showed that tannic acid induced both growth inhibition and apoptosis in K562 cells in ranges between 10 - 100 μM. The polyphenol caused cell cycle arrest at G2- phase under the higher concentrations. In summary, use of DoE techniques effectively identified the most prominent inducer in this group of plant bioactive compounds and produced combinatorial bioactivity of various polyphenols and flavonoids over the entire range of concentrations under study. This study exemplifies the usefulness of DoE and serves as a guide in its utility for in vitro assessment of bioactivity in plant constituents. 展开更多

混合式教学依托数字技术,转型升级促进传统育人模式的变革,促使教学理念、课程设计、课程实施、评价反馈等发生系统性重塑,混合教学模式已进入常态化运行。基于583份广州高校学生问卷数据,从学生视角探究混合式教学下的学习效果,为教学... 混合式教学依托数字技术,转型升级促进传统育人模式的变革,促使教学理念、课程设计、课程实施、评价反馈等发生系统性重塑,混合教学模式已进入常态化运行。基于583份广州高校学生问卷数据,从学生视角探究混合式教学下的学习效果,为教学效果提升提供了针对性建议。结果显示,学生对效果评价、教学设计、教学平台、教学资源等有着鲜明的关注点,教学资源、教学平台、教学设计对学生学习效果评价均有显著正向影响作用,其中教学资源的作用最强,而教学平台的作用微弱。最后,提出核心能力培养与教学资源联动机制、精细化监控与协同优化策略、重构教学平台赋能价值等建议。 展开更多

The desired economics of hard rock surface mining is mainly determined by the parameters of process design which minimize the overall cost per tonne of the rock mined in drilling, blasting, handling and primary crushing in given rockmass conditions. The most effective parameters of process design could be established based on the regression models of the cumulative influence of rockmass and mine design parameters on the overall cost per tonne of the rock drilled, blasted, handled and crushed. These models could be developed from the huge data accumulated worldwide on the costs per tonne of hard rock surface mining in drilling, blasting, handling and primary crushing vs the parameters of rockmass and mine design. This paper only dwelt on the development of regression models for oversize generation, blasthole productivity and blasting cost for iron ore surface mines, whose data is available. The SPSS standard statistical correlation – regression analysis software was used in the analysis. Interpretation of the models generated shows that the individual effects of the determinant rockmass and blast design parameters on oversize generation, blasthole productivity and blasting cost are all in compliance with the findings of other researchers and the theory of explosive rock fragmentation and could be used for the estimation of oversize generation, blasthole productivity and blasting cost in rockmass and blast design conditions similar to those of the iron ore surface mines examined in this study. However, the regression models obtained here could not be used alone for the optimization of blast design because most of the determinant parameters also have conflicting effect on the other processes of drilling, handling and primary crushing the blasted rock. Also, the quality and content of the regression models could be enhanced further by increasing the content of rockmass and blast design parameters and the volume of data considered in the regression analysis. 展开更多

Background and Objective: A multitude of large cohort studies have collected data on incidence and covariates/risk factors of various chronic diseases. However, approaches for utilization of these large data and translation of the valuable results to inform and guide clinical disease prevention practice are not well developed. In this paper, we proposed, based on large cohort study data, a novel conceptual cost-effective disease prevention design strategy for a target group when it is not affordable to include everyone in the target group for intervention. Methods and Results: Data from American Indian participants (n = 3516;2056 women) aged 45 - 74 years in the Strong Heart Study, the diabetes risk prediction model from the study, a utility function, and regression models were used. A conceptual cost-effective disease prevention design strategy based on large cohort data was initiated. The application of the proposed strategy for diabetes prevention was illustrated. Discussion: The strategy may provide reasonable solutions to address cost-effective prevention design issues. These issues include complex associations of a disease with its significant risk factors, cost-effectively selecting individuals at high risk of developing disease to undergo intervention, individual differences in health conditions, choosing intervention risk factors and setting their appropriate, attainable, gradual and adaptive goal levels for different subgroups, and assessing effectiveness of the prevention program. Conclusions: The strategy and methods shown in the illustrative example can also be analogously adopted and applied to other diseases preventions. The proposed strategy provides a way to translate and apply epidemiological study results to clinical disease prevention practice. 展开更多

空间板桁架组合梁挠度与剪力滞效应分析

针对板桁架组合梁的挠度解析预测困难以及剪力滞效应对结构应力分布影响不明确的问题,开展了深入的理论推导与数值模拟研究。首先,基于虚功原理提出了板桁架组合梁的挠度叠加理论,通过将组合梁总挠度分解为空腹虚拟梁挠度与虚拟桁架梁... 针对板桁架组合梁的挠度解析预测困难以及剪力滞效应对结构应力分布影响不明确的问题,开展了深入的理论推导与数值模拟研究。首先,基于虚功原理提出了板桁架组合梁的挠度叠加理论,通过将组合梁总挠度分解为空腹虚拟梁挠度与虚拟桁架梁挠度的叠加,实现了对结构整体变形的解析计算,并将有限元结果与组合梁挠度计算公式结果进行对比分析。针对混凝土板的剪力滞效应,基于能量变分法与最小势能原理建立微分方程,推导出混凝土板任一横截面应力计算公式,并引入剪力滞系数对组合梁的应力分布特征进行评估,针对误差较大的特定区段,结合有限元结果对应力解析公式进行拟合修正,提出了适用于该区段的应力设计公式。结果表明:提出的挠度计算公式在弹性阶段的误差为0~4%,验证了有限元模型的正确性与挠度计算公式的适用性。基于解析公式和修正设计公式计算的应力均与有限元结果吻合良好,且组合梁最大剪力滞系数为1.08,证明了此类组合结构体系是安全可靠的。 展开更多

污水毒性快速分析实验设计与环境类专业教学实践

实验教学是培养环境类专业素质高、创新能力强的复合型人才的有效途径。废水分析是环境类专业实验教学的重要内容之一,而废水毒性的快速分析将是该实验教学内容的重要补充,也是解决目前污水厂处理高毒性废水时所遇难题的技术手段之一。... 实验教学是培养环境类专业素质高、创新能力强的复合型人才的有效途径。废水分析是环境类专业实验教学的重要内容之一,而废水毒性的快速分析将是该实验教学内容的重要补充,也是解决目前污水厂处理高毒性废水时所遇难题的技术手段之一。因此,本研究设计了基于3种短生命周期生物大肠杆菌(Escherichia coli)、青海弧菌(Vibrio qinghaiensis sp.-Q67)和蛋白核小球藻(Chlorella pyrenoidosa)的快速毒性分析实验方法,并应用于安徽省某典型城市污水处理厂进出水及其8种高检出污染物(锌、镉、铜、铅、双酚、氯霉素、氧氟沙星和十二烷基苯磺酸钠)对3种指示生物的毒性效应测定,重点考察了污水中不同受试生物、不同污染物及暴露浓度和暴露时间等因素的影响,并优化了方法。目前,该实验方法已成功应用于环境生态工程专业环境生态监测课程的本科教学实践。通过该实验,使学生掌握了生物的培养、污水毒性数据的采集与数据处理方法,有效深化学生对污水生物毒性动态变化规律及监测意义的理解,引导学生理论与实践相结合,培养了学生的创新思维、实验操作能力、分析问题与解决问题以及科技论文撰写能力,增强了学生保护环境的使命感和科学报国情怀。同时,该方法还可用于环境工程、环境科学、给水排水等专业的水污染控制工程、环境监测、环境毒理学等课程的实践教学。 展开更多

啮合齿六角螺栓冷镦成形工艺与模具设计

针对啮合齿六角螺栓啮合齿结构成形难的问题,设计了下料—螺杆缩径—头部预成形—头部成形及倒角—挤齿切六角的冷镦成形工艺。利用Deform-3D对啮合齿六角螺栓成形方案各工序进行有限元仿真,从成形载荷变化趋势、金属材料流动规律、等... 针对啮合齿六角螺栓啮合齿结构成形难的问题,设计了下料—螺杆缩径—头部预成形—头部成形及倒角—挤齿切六角的冷镦成形工艺。利用Deform-3D对啮合齿六角螺栓成形方案各工序进行有限元仿真,从成形载荷变化趋势、金属材料流动规律、等效应力、等效应变分布和各工位工件成形效果这5方面进行分析,验证工艺的可靠性。仿真结果表明:工件材料填充完整、流动合理,各工位的成形载荷变化趋势一致,最大成形载荷分别为123、355、1619和820 kN;挤齿切六角工位的最大等效应变和最大等效应力最大,分别为20.8和1280 MPa。根据成形方案和工件尺寸设计模具结构。啮合齿六角螺栓批量试制结果表明:此成形方案成形的啮合齿六角螺栓的成形效果较好,可用于指导啮合齿六角螺栓成形工艺研究和模具设计。 展开更多
