It has been widely believed that, except in very extreme situations, the influence of acceleration on quantum fields should amount to just small, sub-dominant contributions. Here we argue that this belief is wrong by showing that in a Rindler distributional background space-time with distributional Levi-Cività connection the vacuum energy of free quantum fields is forced, by the very same background distributional space-time such a Rindler distributional background space-time, to become dominant over any classical energy density component. This semiclassical gravity effect finds its roots in the singular behavior of quantum fields on a Rindler distributional space-times with distributional Levi-Cività connection. In particular we obtain that the vacuum fluctuations have a singular behavior at a Rindler horizon . Therefore sufficiently strongly accelerated observer burns up near the Rindler horizon. Thus Polchinski’s account doesn’t violate the Einstein equivalence principle.展开更多

According to the geographical distribution of the forthcoming Chinese Deep Space Measuring and Controlling Network (DSMCN), two networking schemes are proposed and two elevation angle optimization models are established for locating GEO relay satellites. To analyze the dynamic connectivity, a dynamic network model is constructed with respect to the time-varying characteristics of cislunar trunk links. The advantages of the two proposed schemes, in terms of the Connectivity Rate (CR), Interruption Frequency (IF), and Average Length of Connecting Duration (ALCD), are corroborated by several simulations. In the case of the lunar polar orbit constellation case, the gains in the performance of scheme I are observed to be 134.55%, 117.03%, and 217.47% compared with DSMCN for three evaluation indicators, and the gains in the performance of scheme II are observed to be 238. 22%, 240.40%, and 572.71%. This paper conducted a systematic assessment of ecological connectivity using remote sensing images of Dongshan Island in 1994, 2003 and2011. Based on least-cost modelling, the method takes into consideration the type of barrier, the distance impact, and the adjacent land use types to obtain the Barrier Effect Index(BEI) and Ecological Connectivity Index(ECI). The application of this method to Dongshan Island showed the ecological connectivity index(ECI) was low in 1994, improved in 2003, and decreased significantly in 2011. The results of the dynamic analysis of landscape structure showed farmland and roads were the main landscape classes that caused the low observed ECI in 1994 and 2003;these tended to divide the landscape and cause fragmentation. Construction land and roads were the main landscape classes resulting in low ECI in 2011,while forest and grassland had a high ECI. Trajectory analysis showed ECI tended to decrease in the low mountain forest zone of the northwestern and southeastern parts of Dongshan Island as well as in the coastal protection forest area. The areas where ECI became high were located in the northeastern part of Dongshan Island where cities and towns are concentrated with high human populations. Therefore, rapid urbanization has been the most important factor driving changes in landscape structure and patterns during the last 17 years on Dongshan Island. The approach not only assists us in revealing the driving mechanism of landscape dynamics from another aspect, but also can assess the impacts of regional and urban plans on landscape structure and function.展开更多

In fact, sandstone reservoirs in China's onshore oilfields generally have the characteristics of thin and many layers, so multi-layer joint production is usually adopted. It remains a challenge to ensure the accuracy of splitting and dynamic connectivity in each layer of the injection-production wells with limited field data. The three-dimensional well pattern of multi-layer reservoir and the relationship between injection-production wells can be equivalent to a directional heterogeneous graph. In this paper, an improved graph neural network is proposed to construct an interacting process mimics the real interwell flow regularity. In detail, this method is used to split injection and production rates by combining permeability, porosity and effective thickness, and to invert the dynamic connectivity in each layer of the injection-production wells by attention mechanism.Based on the material balance and physical information, the overall connectivity from the injection wells, through the water injection layers to the production layers and the output of final production wells is established. Meanwhile, the change of well pattern caused by perforation, plugging and switching of wells at different times is achieved by updated graph structure in spatial and temporal ways. The effectiveness of the method is verified by a combination of reservoir numerical simulation examples and field example. The method corresponds to the actual situation of the reservoir, has wide adaptability and low cost, has good practical value, and provides a reference for adjusting the injection-production relationship of the reservoir and the development of the remaining oil.展开更多

The computation is to find the optimal status for connection at a certain sea state. On the basis of the relative motion of two pontoons in irregular waves, Visual FORTRAN programming language, as well as OpenGL (Open Graphics Library), is used to develop a set of virtual reality system of the relative motion of two pontoons, which is fully interactive with realistic effect. The transfinite interpolation scheme is applied for the mesh generation of wave surface, and the wave motion is simulated by surface elevation and calculated by 3-D potential flow theory.展开更多

The influence of connecting stiffness on the critical velocity is investigated with varied impactor mass and buckling time. The influences of rod length and rod mass on the critical velocity are also discussed. It is found that greater connecting stiffness leads to larger stress amplitude, and further results in lower critical velocity. It is particularly noteworthy that when the connecting stiffness is less than a certain value, dynamic buckling only occurs before stress wave reflects off the connecting end. It is also shown that longer rod with larger slenderness ratio is easier to buckle, and the critical velocity for a larger-mass rod is higher than that for a lighter rod with the same geometry.展开更多

The dynamic characteristics of the bridge are analyzed using a subspace iteration method. Based on recorded wind data, the measured spectra expression is presented using the nonlinear least-squares regression method. Turbulent winds at the bridge site are simulated based on the spectral representation method and the FFT technique. The influence of some key structural parameters and measures on the dynamic characteristics of the bridge are investigated. These parameters include dead load intensity, as well as vertical, lateral and torsional stiffness of the steel box girder. In addition, the influence of elastic stiffness of the connection device employed between the towers and the girder on the vibration mode of the steel box girder is investigated. The analysis shows that all of the vertical, lateral and torsional buffeting displacement responses reduce gradually as the dead load intensity increases. The dynamic characteristics and the structural buffeting displacement response of the SCB are only slightly affected by the vertical and torsional stiffness of the steel box girder, and the lateral and torsional buffeting displacement responses reduce gradually as the lateral stiffness increases. These results provide a reference for dynamic analysis and design of super-long-span cable-stayed bridges.展开更多

This paper compares the 1985 and 2015 surveys of the Barro Colorado Forest Dynamics plot(BCI), Panama, divided into 1250(20 m × 20 m) quadrats. Methods, spatial analysis: Total beta diversity was measured as the total variance of the Hellinger-transformed community data throughout the BCI plot. Total beta was partitioned into contributions of individual sites(LCBD indices), which were tested for significance and mapped. Results, spatial analysis: LCBD indices indicated the sites with exceptional community composition. In 1985,they were mostly found in the swamp habitat. In the 2015 survey, none of the swamp quadrats had significant LCBDs.What happened to the tree community in the interval? Methods, temporal analysis: The dissimilarity in community composition in each quadrat was measured between time 1(1985) and time 2(2015). Temporal Beta Indices(TBI) were computed from abundance and presence-absence data and tested for significance. TBI indices can be decomposed into B = species(or abundances-per-species) losses and C = species(or abundances-per-species) gains. B-C plots were produced; they display visually the relative importance of the loss and gain components, through time, across the sites. Results, temporal analysis: In BCI, quadrats with significant TBI indices were found in the swamp area, which is shrinking in importance due to changes to the local climate. A published habitat classification divided the BCI forest plot into six habitat zones. Graphs of the B and C components were produced for each habitat group. Group 4(the swamp) was dominated by species(and abundances-per-species) gains whereas the five other habitat groups were dominated by losses, some groups more than others. Conclusions: We identified the species that had changed the most in abundances in the swamp between T1 and T2.This analysis supported the hypothesis that the swamp is drying out and is invaded by species from the surrounding area. Analysis of the B and C components of temporal beta diversity bring us to the heart of the mechanisms of community change through time: losses(B) and gains(C) of species, losses and gains of individuals of various species. TBI analysis is especially interesting in species-rich communities where we cannot examine the changes in every species individually.展开更多

文摘Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) enable flexible networking functions in emergency scenarios. However, due to the movement characteristic of ground users(GUs),it is challenging to capture the interactions among GUs.Thus,we propose a learningbased dynamic connectivity maintenance architecture to reduce the delay for the UAV-assisted device-todevice(D2D) multicast communication. In this paper, each UAV transmits information to a selected GU,and then other GUs receive the information in a multi-hop manner. To minimize the total delay while ensuring that all GUs receive the information,we decouple it into three subproblems according to the time division on the topology:For the cluster-head selection,we adopt the Whale Optimization Algorithm(WOA) to imitate the hunting behavior of whales by abstracting the UAVs and cluster-heads into whales and preys, respectively; For the D2D multi-hop link establishment,we make the best of social relationships between GUs,and propose a node mapping algorithm based on the balanced spanning tree(BST) with reconfiguration to minimize the number of hops; For the dynamic connectivity maintenance,Restricted Q-learning(RQL) is utilized to learn the optimal multicast timeslot. Finally, the simulation results show that our proposed algorithms perfor better than other benchmark algorithms in the dynamic scenario.

文摘The analysis of interwell connectivity plays an important role in the formulation of oilfield development plans and the description of residual oil distribution. The method corresponds to the actual situation of the reservoir, has wide adaptability and low cost, has good practical value, and provides a reference for adjusting the injection-production relationship of the reservoir and the development of the remaining oil.

文摘The dynamic responses of two pontoons while connected with each other in irregular waves are calculated by means of three-dimensional (3-D) potential flow theory. The transfinite interpolation scheme is applied for the mesh generation of wave surface, and the wave motion is simulated by surface elevation and calculated by 3-D potential flow theory.
文摘The Arctic plays a pivotal role in the Earth’s climate system, with its rapid transformation exerting profound impacts on global climate dynamics, ecosystems, and human societies. In recent decades,Arctic warming has significantly outpaced the global mean temperature increase, driving the enhanced sea ice decline, the accelerated mass loss of the Greenland Ice Sheet, permafrost degradation, and glacier retreat. These changes modulate atmospheric and oceanic circulation patterns, establishing teleconnections with mid-and low-latitude climate systems.Investigating the historical evolution, current state, and projected future trends of the Arctic climate system,as well as its global impacts,is crucial for elucidating the mechanisms underlying Arctic amplification, refining climate change projections, attributing extreme weather and climate events, and informing sustainable development strategies.

文摘In order to accommodate higher speeds, heavier axle weights, and vibration damping criteria,a new floating slab structure was proposed. The new type of floating slab track structure was composed of three prefabricated floating slabs longitudinally interconnected with magnesium ammonium phosphate concrete(MPC).This study investigated the dynamic performance of the structure. We constructd a full-scale indoor experimental model to scrutinize the disparities in the impact performance between a longitudinally connected floating slab track and its longitudinally disconnected counterpart.Additionally,a long-term fatigue experiment was conducted to assess the impact performance of longitudinally connected floating slab tracks under fatigue loading. The findings are described in the following.1)The new structure effectively suppresses ground vibrations, exhibiting a well-balanced energy distribution profile. However, the imposition of fatigue loading leads to a reduction in the damping performance of the steel spring damping system, thereby reducing its capacity to attenuate structural vibrations and leading to an increase in ground vibration energy;2)After 107 loading cycles, the attenuation rate of the vibration acceleration for the MPC increases by 171.9%.Conversely,at the corresponding disconnected location, the attenuation rate of ground vibration acceleration decreases by 65.6%.In conclusion, longitudinally connected floating slab tracks exhibit superior vibration reduction performance. While the vibration reduction performance of longitudinally connected floating slab tracks may diminish to some extent during long-term service, these tracks continue to meet specific vibration reduction requirements.

文摘Thalamocortical circuitry has a substantial impact on emotion and cognition.Previous studies have demonstrated alterations in thalamocortical functional connectivity(FC),characterized by region-dependent hypo-or hyper-connectivity,among individuals with major depressive disorder(MDD).However, the dynamical reconfiguration of the thalamocortical system over time and potential abnormalities in dynamic thalamocortical connectivity associated with MDD remain unclear.Hence,we analyzed dynamic FC(dFC)between ten thalamic subregions and seven cortical subnetworks from resting-state functional magnetic resonance images of 48 patients with MDD and 57 healthy controls(HCs)to investigate time-varying changes in thalamocortical FC in patients with MDD.Moreover, dynamic laterality analysis was conducted to examine the changes in functional lateralization of the thalamocortical system over time.Correlations between the dynamic measures of thalamocortical FC and clinical assessment were also calculated. We identified four dynamic states of thalamocortical circuitry wherein patients with MDD exhibited decreased fractional time and reduced transitions within a negative connectivity state that showed strong correlations with primary cortical networks, compared with the HCs.In addition,MDD patients also exhibited increased fluctuations in functional laterality in the thalamocortical system across the scan duration. The thalamo-subnetwork analysis unveiled abnormal dFC variability involving higher-order cortical networks in the MDD cohort.Significant correlations were found between increased dFC variability with dorsal attention and default mode networks and the severity of symptoms. Our study comprehensively investigated the pattern of alteration of the thalamocortical dFC in MDD patients. The heterogeneous alterations of dFC between the thalamus and both primary and higher-order cortical networks may help characterize the deficits of sensory and cognitive processing in MDD.
文摘The stress wave propagation law and dynamic buckling critical velocity are formulated and solved by considering a general axial connecting boundary for a slender elastic straight rod impacted by a rigid body. It is also shown that longer rod with larger slenderness ratio is easier to buckle, and the critical velocity for a larger-mass rod is higher than that for a lighter rod with the same geometry.

文摘A 3D finite element (FE) model for the Sutong cable-stayed bridge (SCB) is established based on ANSYS. These results provide a reference for dynamic analysis and design of super-long-span cable-stayed bridges.

文摘Background: Ecologists are interested in assessing the spatial and temporal variation in ecological surveys repeated over time. TBI analysis is especially interesting in species-rich communities where we cannot examine the changes in every species individually.
