文摘This study developed a digital twin(DT)and structural health monitoring(SHM)system for a balanced cantilever bridge, utilizing advanced measurement techniques to enhance accuracy.Vibration and dynamic strain measurements were obtained using accelerometers and piezo-resistive strain gauges, capturing low-magnitude dynamic strains during operational vibrations.3D-LiDAR scanning and Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity(UPV)tests captured the bridge's as-is geometry and modulus of elasticity. The resulting detailed 3D point cloud model revealed the structure's true state and highlighted discrepancies between the as-designed and as-built conditions.Dynamic properties, including modal frequencies and shapes, were extracted from the strain and acceleration measurements, providing critical insights into the bridge's structural behavior. The neutral axis depth, indicating stress distribution and potential damage, was accurately determined.Good agreement between vibration measurement data and the as-is model results validated the reliability of the digital twin model.Dynamic strain patterns and neutral axis parameters showed strong correlation with model predictions, serving as sensitive indicators of local damage. The baseline digital twin model and measurement results establish a foundation for future bridge inspections and investigations. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of combining digital twin technology with field measurements for real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance, ensuring the sustainability and safety of the bridge infrastructure, thereby enhancing its overall resilience to operational and environmental stressors.

文摘Data-driven process monitoring is an effective approach to assure safe operation of modern manufacturing and energy systems, such as thermal power plants being studied in this work.Industrial processes are inherently dynamic and need to be monitored using dynamic algorithms.Mainstream dynamic algorithms rely on concatenating current measurement with past data. This work proposes a new, alternative dynamic process monitoring algorithm, using dot product feature analysis(DPFA).DPFA computes the dot product of consecutive samples, thus naturally capturing the process dynamics through temporal correlation. At the same time,DPFA's online computational complexity is lower than not just existing dynamic algorithms, but also classical static algorithms(e.g.,principal component analysis and slow feature analysis). The detectability of the new algorithm is analyzed for three types of faults typically seen in process systems:sensor bias, process fault and gain change fault.Through experiments with a numerical example and real data from a thermal power plant, the DPFA algorithm is shown to be superior to the state-of-the-art methods,in terms of better monitoring performance(fault detection rate and false alarm rate)and lower computational complexity.

文摘Biotite content critically influences rock mechanical behavior and threatens underground engineering stability.Uniaxial compression tests with acoustic emission(AE)monitoring were conducted on granite pegmatite samples having varying biotite content.Peak frequency distribution analysis, rise angleaverage frequency(RA-AF)analysis,multifractal theory, and a dynamic multifractal algorithm were applied to explore the relationship between damage evolution and AE characteristics. Results indicate that increased biotite content reduces uniaxial compressive strength and elastic modulus, enhances plastic deformation, and increases the proportion of shear cracks. The segmented evolution of the dynamic multifractal parameter Δα_(m) is biotite-dependent.Oscillations during the elastic phase signify localized shear crack initiation and propagation;their attenuation in the plastic phase reflects frictional closure along biotite cleavage planes, promoting elastic energy storage and delaying release.AE-based damage models and time-varying signals characterize rock damage progression.Stress concentrations around biotite minerals foster localized shear band formation, leading to concentrated shear failure at lower damage levels.Higher biotite content accelerates crack propagation, while smooth cleavage planes lower the fracture energy threshold, reducing strength and stiffness. These findings enhance understanding of biotite-influenced progressive rock damage and underpin stability monitoring and early-warning systems for underground engineering.

文摘To examine stress redistribution phenomena in bridges subjected to varying operational conditions, this study conducts a comprehensive analysis of three years of monitoring data from a 153-m double-deck road–rail steel arch bridge. An initial statistical comparison of sensor data distributions reveals clear temporal variations in stress redistribution patterns.XGBoost(eXtreme Gradient Boosting),a gradient-boosting machine learning(ML)algorithm, was employed not only for predictive modeling but also to uncover the underlying mechanisms of stress evolution.Unlike traditional numerical models that rely on extensive assumptions and idealizations,XGBoost effectively captures nonlinear and time-varying relationships between stress states and operational/environmental factors, such as temperature, traffic load, and structural geometry. This approach allows for the identification of critical periods and conditions under which stress redistribution becomes significant. Results indicate a clear shift of stress concentrations frombeamends toward mid-span regions following the commencement of metro operations, reflecting both structural adaptation and localized overstress near arch ribs.Furthermore, the model generates robust predictions of stress evolution, demonstrating potential applications in early warning systems and fatigue risk assessment. This work represents the first application of interpretable gradient-boosting techniques to stress redistribution modeling in double-deck bridges. In addition,a Stress Redistribution Index(SRI)is proposed, derived from this monitoring study and finite-element-based transverse load distributions,to quantify temporal stress shifts between midspan and edge beams. The results provide both theoretical contributions and practical guidance for the design, inspection, and maintenance of complex bridge structures.

文摘Kernel-based slow feature analysis(SFA)methods have been successfully applied in the industrial process fault detection field.However,kernel-based SFA methods have high computational complexity as dealing with nonlinearity, leading to delays in detecting time-varying data features.Additionally, the uncertain kernel function and kernel parameters limit the ability of the extracted features to express process characteristics, resulting in poor fault detection performance. To alleviate the above problems,a novel randomized auto-regressive dynamic slow feature analysis(RRDSFA)method is proposed to simultaneously monitor the operating point deviations and process dynamic faults, enabling real-time monitoring of data features in industrial processes.Firstly, the proposed Random Fourier mappingbased method achieves more effective nonlinear transformation, contrasting with the current kernelbased RDSFA algorithm that may lead to significant computational complexity.Secondly,a randomized RDSFA model is developed to extract nonlinear dynamic slow features.Furthermore,a Bayesian inference-based overall fault monitoring model including all RRDSFA sub-models is developed to overcome the randomness of random Fourier mapping. Finally, the superiority and effectiveness of the proposed monitoring method are demonstrated through a numerical case and a simulation of continuous stirred tank reactor.

文摘An innovative real-time monitoring method for surrounding rock damage based on microseismic time-lapse double-difference tomography is proposed for delayed dynamic damage identification and insufficient detection of adverse geological conditions in deep-buried tunnel construction. The installation techniques for microseismic sensors were optimized by mounting sensors at bolt ends which significantly improves signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)and anti-interference capability compared to conventional borehole placement.Subsequently,a 3D wave velocity evolution model that incorporates construction-induced disturbances was established, enabling the first visualization of spatiotemporal variations in surrounding rock wave velocity. It finds significant wave velocity reduction near the tunnel face, with roof and floor damage zones extending 40–50 m;wave velocities approaching undisturbed levels at 15 m ahead of the working face and on the laterally undisturbed side;pronounced spatial asymmetry in wave velocity distribution—values on the left side exceed those on the right, with a clear stress concentration or transition zone located 10–15 m;and systematically lower velocities behind the face than in front, indicating asymmetric rock damage development. These results provide essential theoretical support and practical guidance for optimizing dynamic construction strategies, enabling real-time adjustment of support parameters, and establishing safety early warning systems in deep-buried tunnel engineering.

文摘Vitrimers belong to a class of polymeric materials capable of bond exchange reactions, showing great promise for environmental protection and sustainable development. However, studies on the coupling mechanism between the bond exchange kinetics and segmental dynamics near the glass transition temperature(T_(g))remain scarce.Herein,we employed molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the dynamic heterogeneity of the segment motion and bond exchange in vitrimers. The simulation results revealed that the bond exchange energy barrier exerts a much stronger influence on the bond exchange kinetics than on the segmental dynamics. At lower temperatures, slower segmental relaxation further constraind the bond exchange rate.Additionally, increasing the bond exchange energy barrier markedly enhanced the dynamic heterogeneity of segment motion.A close correlation was observed between heterogeneity and bond exchange. This study elucidated the coupling mechanism between bond exchange and segmental dynamics at the molecular scale, thereby providing a theoretical basis for designing vitrimer materials with tunable dynamic properties.

文摘It is well recognized that Structural Health Monitoring(SHM)reliability evaluation is a key aspect that needs to be urgently addressed to promote the wide application of SHM methods. However, the existing studies typically transfer the Non-Destructive Testing/Evaluation(NDT/E)reliability metrics to SHM without a systematic analysis of where these metrics originated.Seldom attentions are paid to the evaluation conditions which are very important to apply these metrics.Aimed at this issue,a new condition control-based Dual-Reliability Evaluation(Dual-RE)method for SHM is proposed. This new method is proposed based on a systematic analysis of the whole framework of reliability evaluation from instrument to NDT,and emphasis is paid to the evaluation condition control.Based on these analyses, considering the special online application scenario of SHM,the proposed Dual-RE method contains two key components:Integrated Sensor-based SHM-RE(IS-SHM-RE)and Critical Service Condition-based SHM-RE(CSC-SHM-RE).ISSHM-RE evaluates the reliability of integrated SHM sensor and system themselves under approximate repeatability conditions, while CSC-SHM-RE assesses SHM reliability under the dominant uncertainties during service, namely intermediate conditions. To demonstrate the Dual-RE,crack monitoring by using the Guided Wave-based-SHM(GW-SHM)on aircraft lug structures is taken as a case study. Both the crack detection and sizing performance are evaluated from accuracy and uncertainty.

文摘The migration mechanisms of ore-forming fluids have long been a focus in the field of ore deposit studies.Calcite is ubiquitously present in various types of rocks in the lithosphere, and the underlying mechanisms of its influence on fluid migration are of crucial importance. While previous studies have revealed that salinity changes can modulate fluid migration, the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. We employ molecular dynamics simulations to elucidate how salinity variations in ore-forming fluids modulate the adsorption onto calcite nanopore walls, thereby revealing the microscopic mechanisms governing ore fluid transport through calcite nano-fractures.The results show that the adsorption energy Eint of the solution on the calcite surface increased from -14,948.84±182.48 kcal/mol to -12,144.08±118.2 kcal/mol as salinity increased, which is conducive to the long-range transport of the fluid in the calcite nanopore.

文摘To advance the theoretical understanding, technological development, and field application of electric charge induction for monitoring rock deformation and failure, this study investigates the induced electric charge generated during the deformation and failure of igneous rocks. The charge originates mainly from a combination of electrical polarization and triboelectric effects.Through laboratory experiments,we analyzed the time-frequency evolution of induced electric charge signals and identified relevant monitoring parameters. An online downhole electric charge induction monitoring system was developed and validated in the field.Experimental results show that the dominant frequency range of induced electric charge signals generated during igneous rock deformation and failure lies between 0 and 23 Hz,and a low-pass finite impulse response(FIR)filter effectively suppresses noise.Optimal sensor distances for monitoring cubic and cylindrical specimens were determined to be 17 mm and 13 mm,respectively. We proposed early warning indicators, including the maximum absolute value of the induced electric charge, the arithmetic mean value, the distribution dispersion coefficient, and the cumulative sum value. In field application,time-domain curves and spatial distribution charts of these warning indicators correspond well with changes in abutment stress ahead of the mining face, offering indirect insights into local stress evolution. This research provides technical and equipment support for the application of electric charge induction technology to monitoring and early warning of coal bursts.

文摘A rapidly growing field is piezoresistive sensor for accurate respiration rate monitoring to suppress the worldwide respiratory illness. However,a large neglected issue is the sensing durability and accuracy without interference since the expiratory pressure always coupled with external humidity and temperature variations,as well as mechanical motion artifacts.Herein,a robust and biodegradable piezoresistive sensor is reported that consists of heterogeneous MXene/cellulose-gelation sensing layer and Ag-based interdigital electrode, featuring customizable cylindrical interface arrangement and compact hierarchical laminated architecture for collectively regulating the piezoresistive response and mechanical robustness, thereby realizing the long-term breath-induced pressure detection.Notably, molecular dynamics simulations reveal the frequent angle inversion and reorientation of MXene/cellulose in vacuum filtration, driven by shear forces and interfacial interactions, which facilitate the establishment of hydrogen bonds and optimize the architecture design in sensing layer. The resultant sensor delivers unprecedented collection features of superior stability for off-axis deformation(0-120°,~2.8×10^(-3) A)and sensing accuracy without crosstalk(humidity 50%-100%and temperature 30-80).Besides,the sensor-embedded mask together with machine learning models is achieved to train and classify the respiration status for volunteers with different ages(average prediction accuracy~90%).It is envisioned that the customizable architecture design and sensor paradigm will shed light on the advanced stability of sustainable electronics and pave the way for the commercial application in respiratory monitory.

文摘The equilibrium dynamics and nonlinear rheology of unentangled polymer blends remain inadequately understood, especially regarding the influence of short-chain matrix length N_(S) on the structure and rheological behavior of dispersed long chains.Using molecular dynamics simulations based on the Kremer-Grest model,we systematically explore the N_(S)-dependence of static conformations, equilibrium dynamics, and nonlinear shear responses in unentangled long-chain/short-chain polymer blends. Our results demonstrate a decoupling between the static and dynamic sensitivity to N_(S):while the static chain size,R_g,follows Flory theory with slight swelling at small N_(S) due to incomplete excluded volume screening, the diffusion coefficient,D,and the relaxation time,τ_(0),exhibit a strong,non-monotonic N_(S)-dependence,transitioning from monomeric friction dominance at small N_(S) to collective segmental rearrangement at large N_(S).Additionally,we observe partial decoupling between the viscous and normal stress responses:while the zero-shear viscosity,η,is strongly N_(S)-dependent,the first and second normal stress coefficients,Ψ_(1) and Ψ_(2),collapse onto universal curves when scaled by the dimensionless shear rate,γτ_(0),suggesting a common mechanism of orientation and stretching.Under shear, long chains compress in the vorticity direction λ_(z)~Wi^(-0.2),which reduces collision frequency and contributes to shear thinning, while the scaling of weaker orientation resistance m_(G)~Wi^(0.35)reflects hydrodynamic screening by the short-chain matrix. These findings highlight the limitations of single-chain models and emphasize the necessity of considering N_(S)-dependent matrix dynamics and flow-induced structural changes in understanding the rheology of unentangled polymer blends.

文摘In multi-modal emotion recognition, excessive reliance on historical context often impedes the detection of emotional shifts, while modality heterogeneity and unimodal noise limit recognition performance.Existing methods struggle to dynamically adjust cross-modal complementary strength to optimize fusion quality and lack effective mechanisms to model the dynamic evolution of emotions. To address these issues,we propose a multi-level dynamic gating and emotion transfer framework for multi-modal emotion recognition.A dynamic gating mechanism is applied across unimodal encoding,cross-modal alignment, and emotion transfer modeling, substantially improving noise robustness and feature alignment.First,we construct a unimodal encoder based on gated recurrent units and feature-selection gating to suppress intra-modal noise and enhance contextual representation.Second,we design a gated-attention crossmodal encoder that dynamically calibrates the complementary contributions of visual and audio modalities to the dominant textual features and eliminates redundant information. Finally,we introduce a gated enhanced emotion transfer module that explicitly models the temporal dependence of emotional evolution in dialogues via transfer gating and optimizes continuity modeling with a comparative learning loss.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art models on the public MELD and IEMOCAP datasets.
