By deriving the discrete-time models of a digitally controlled H-bridge inverter system modulated by bipolar sinu- soidal pulse width modulation (BSPWM) and unipolar double-frequency sinusoidal pulse width modulation (UDFSPWM) respectively, the performances of the two modulation strategies are analyzed in detail. The circuit parameters, used in this paper, are fixed. When the systems, modulated by BSPWM and UDFSPWM, have the same switching frequency, the stabil- ity boundaries of the two systems are the same. However, when the equivalent switching frequencies of the two systems are the same, the BSPWM modulated system is more stable than the UDFSPWM modulated system. In addition, a convenient method of establishing the discrete-time model of piecewise smooth system is presented. Finally, the analytical results are confirmed by circuit simulations and experimental measurements. 展开更多

直流侧中点电位电压偏移是多电平中性点钳位型变流器的主要缺点。以单相三电平NPC整流器为研究对象,以实现直流侧中点电位无漂移为控制目标,以传统的单相三电平单极性载波脉宽调制方法为基础,首先提出一种基于零序电压分量注入的载... 直流侧中点电位电压偏移是多电平中性点钳位型变流器的主要缺点。以单相三电平NPC整流器为研究对象,以实现直流侧中点电位无漂移为控制目标,以传统的单相三电平单极性载波脉宽调制方法为基础,首先提出一种基于零序电压分量注入的载波脉宽调制算法;然后在此基础上给出基于零序电压分量极限值注入的载波脉宽调制算法;并给出这2种方法的零序电压分量的设计方案;最后,对这2种方法进行了详细的理论分析、计算机仿真和1kW样机实验对比验证。研究结果表明:所提出的2种算法都能有效实现直流侧中点电位平衡控制,其中基于零序电压分量极限值注入的载波调制算法的中点电位控制具有更快动态响应速度,且其网侧电流的高次谐波主要分布在开关频率附近;而基于零序电压分量注入的载波调制算法的网侧电流高次谐波主要分布在2倍开关频率附近。但是在一个调制信号周期内,基于零序电压分量极限值注入的载波调制算法的开关切换次数比基于零序电压分量注入的载波调制算法低25%左右。 展开更多

Vector control schemes have recently been used to drive linear induction motors(LIM)in high-performance applications.This trend promotes the development of precise and efficient control schemes for individual motors.This research aims to present a novel framework for speed and thrust force control of LIM using space vector pulse width modulation(SVPWM)inverters.The framework under consideration is developed in four stages.To begin,MATLAB Simulink was used to develop a detailed mathematical and electromechanical dynamicmodel.The research presents a modified SVPWM inverter control scheme.By tuning the proportional-integral(PI)controller with a transfer function,optimized values for the PI controller are derived.All the subsystems mentioned above are integrated to create a robust simulation of the LIM’s precise speed and thrust force control scheme.The reference speed values were chosen to evaluate the performance of the respective system,and the developed system’s response was verified using various data sets.For the low-speed range,a reference value of 10m/s is used,while a reference value of 100 m/s is used for the high-speed range.The speed output response indicates that themotor reached reference speed in amatter of seconds,as the delay time is between 8 and 10 s.The maximum amplitude of thrust achieved is less than 400N,demonstrating the controller’s capability to control a high-speed LIM with minimal thrust ripple.Due to the controlled speed range,the developed system is highly recommended for low-speed and high-speed and heavy-duty traction applications. 展开更多

An improved automatic voltage coordination control strategy (AVCCS) based on ;automatic voltage control (AVC) and battery energy storage control (BESC) is proposed for photovoltaic grid-connected system (PVGS) to mitigate the voltage fluctuations caused by environmental disturbances. Only AVC is used when small environ- mental disturbances happen, while BESC is incorporated with AVC to restrain the voltage fluctuations when large disturbances happen. An adjustable parameter determining the allowed amplitudes of voltage fluctuations is introduced to realize the above switching process. A benchmark low voltage distribution system including ]?VGS is established by using the commercial software Dig SILENT. Simulation results show that the voltage under AVCCS satisfies the IEEE Standard 1547, and the installed battery capacity is also reduced. Meanwhile, the battery's service life is ex- tended by avoiding frequent charges/discharges in the control process. 展开更多

The work-class remotely-operated-underwater-vehicles(ROVs) are mainly driven by hydraulic propulsion system,and the effeciency of hydraulic propulsion system is an important performance index of ROVs.However,the efficiency of traditional hydraulic propulsion system controlled by throttle valves is too low.Therefore,in this paper,for small and medium ROVs,a novel propulsion system with higher efficiency based on high speed on/off valve control hydraulic propeller is proposed.To solve the conflict between large flow rate and high frequency response performance,a two-stage high speed on/off valve-motor unit with large flow rate and high response speed simultaneously is developed.Through theoretical analysis,an effective fluctuation control method and a novel pulse-width-pulse-frequency-modulation(PWPFM) are introduced to solve the conflict among inherently fluctuation,valve dynamic performance and system efficiency.A simulation model is established to evaluate the system performance.To prove the advantage of system in energy saving,and test the dynamic control performance of high speed on/off valve control propeller,a test setup is developed and a series of comparative experiments is completed.The smimulation and experiment results show that the two-stage high speed on/off valve has an excellent dynamic response performance,and can be used to realize high accuracy speed control.The experiment results prove that the new propulsion system has much more advantages than the traditional throttle speed regulation system in energy saving.The lowest efficiency is more than 40%.The application results on a ROV indicate that the high speed on/off valve control propeller system has good dynamic and steady-state control performances.Its transient time is only about 1 s-1.5 s,and steady-state error is less than 5%.Meanwhile,the speed fluctuation is small,and the smooth propeller speed control effect is obtained.On the premise of good propeller speed control performance,the proposed high speed on/off valve control propeller can improve the effeciency of ROV propulsion system significantly,and provides another attractive ROV propulsion system choice for engineers. 展开更多

This paper describes the replacement of a controller for a programmable universal machine for assembly (PUMA) 512 robot with a newly designed PC based (open architecture) controller employing a real-time direct control of six joints. The original structure of the PUMA robot is retained. The hardware of the new controller includes such in-house designed parts as pulse width modulation (PWM) amplifiers, digital and analog controllers, I/O cards, signal conditioner cards, and 16-bit A/D and D/A boards. An Intel Pentium IV industrial computer is used as the central controller. The control software is implemented using VC++ programming language. The trajectory tracking performance of all six joints is tested at varying velocities. Experimental results show that it is feasible to implement the suggested open architecture platform for PUMA 500 series robots through the software routines running on a PC. By assembling controller from off-the-shell hardware and software components, the benefits of reduced and improved robustness have been realized. 展开更多

However, there are some problems in the conventional method, such as the error of amplitude, the shift of phase angle and the non-determinacy of initial oriented angle. In this paper, two one-order low-pass filters are adopted instead of the pure integrator in the virtual line-flux-linkage observer, which can steady the phase and amplitude. Furthermore, an original scheme of harmonics detection under the rotating coordinate is advanced based on the simplified space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) strategy. Meanwhile, by using the new SVPWM algorithm, the voltage space vector diagram of the three-level inverter can be simplified and applied into that of two-level inverter, and this makes the control for Neutral Point potential easier. 展开更多

Eigenaxis rotation is generally regarded as a near-minimum time strategy for rapid attitude maneuver due to its constitution of the shortest angular path between two orientations. In this paper, the robust control problem of rigid spacecraft eigenaxis rotation is investigated via time-varying sliding mode control (TVSMC) technique. Both external disturbance and parameter variation are taken into account. Major features of this robust eigenaxis rotation strategy are first demonstrated by a TVSMC algorithm. Global sliding phase is proved as well as the closed-loop system stability. Additionally, the necessary condition for eigenaxis rotation is provided. Subsequently, to suppress the global chattering and improve the control accuracy, a disturbance observer-based time-varying sliding mode control (DOTVSMC) algorithm is presented, where the boundary layer approach is used to soften the chattering and a disturbance observer is designed to attenuate undesired effect. The spacecraft attitude is represented by modified Rodrigues parameter (MRP) for the non-redundancy. Finally, a numerical simulation is employed to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy, where the pulse-width pulse-frequency (PWPF) technique is utilized to modulate the on-off thrusters. 展开更多

By selecting the appropriate stability parameter which determines the additional pole and describes the degree of peaking in closed loop transfer function, a control model of current programmed full bridge arc welding inverter with maximum frequency bandwidth and stability can be obtained. This paper mainly concentrates on design of improved controller and its implementation based on single phase synchronous reference frame theory (SRFT) for Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) compensating voltage sag particularly for nonlinear load. In case of single phase distribution line with nonlinear load, the complexity of controller’s design becomes more serious issue. The present single phase and/or three phase theories applicable to DVR shows poor response to restore voltage sag in case of nonlinear load due to presence of harmonics. Hence restoration of voltage sag in single phase nonlinear load connected system has been a serious concern. Therefore, new controller for DVR has been proposed incorporating effective design concept for fundamental component extraction in case of nonlinear load. The single phase SRFT based main controller for DVR works on two separate closed path viz. feed forward path for quick transient response and feedback path for reducing the steady state error. Moreover, pre-sag mitigation strategy of DVR has been adapted through these two aforementioned paths. Complete design of proposed controller is based on phasor analysis. It also consist of proportional integral (PI) controller to reduce the error in the DC-link voltage during compensation time. The controller performance has been verified in MATLAB Simulink for both types (linear and nonlinear) of load. Recent advancements in power electronics technology evolves inverter fed electric motors.Speed signals and rotor position are essential for controlling an electric motor accurately.In this paper,the sensorless speed control of surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor(SPMSM)has been attempted.SPMSM wants a digital inverter for its precise working.Hence,this study incor-poratesfifteen level inverter to the SPMSM.A sliding mode observer(SMO)based sensorless speed control scheme is projected to determine rotor spot and speed of the multilevel inverter(MLI)fed SPMSM.MLI has been operated using a multi carrier pulse width modulation(MCPWM)strategy for generation offif-teen level voltages.The simulation works are executed with MATLAB/SIMU-LINK software.The steadiness and the heftiness of the projected model have been investigated under no loaded and loaded situations of SPMSM.Furthermore,the projected method can be adapted for electric vehicles. 展开更多
