This paper presents a novel approach to dynamic pricing and distributed energy management in virtual power plant(VPP)networks using multi-agent reinforcement learning(MARL).As the energy landscape evolves towards grea...This paper presents a novel approach to dynamic pricing and distributed energy management in virtual power plant(VPP)networks using multi-agent reinforcement learning(MARL).As the energy landscape evolves towards greater decentralization and renewable integration,traditional optimization methods struggle to address the inherent complexities and uncertainties.Our proposed MARL framework enables adaptive,decentralized decision-making for both the distribution system operator and individual VPPs,optimizing economic efficiency while maintaining grid stability.We formulate the problem as a Markov decision process and develop a custom MARL algorithm that leverages actor-critic architectures and experience replay.Extensive simulations across diverse scenarios demonstrate that our approach consistently outperforms baseline methods,including Stackelberg game models and model predictive control,achieving an 18.73%reduction in costs and a 22.46%increase in VPP profits.The MARL framework shows particular strength in scenarios with high renewable energy penetration,where it improves system performance by 11.95%compared with traditional methods.Furthermore,our approach demonstrates superior adaptability to unexpected events and mis-predictions,highlighting its potential for real-world implementation.展开更多
In this paper,a distributed Event-Triggered(ET)collision avoidance coordinated control for Quadrotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(QUAVs)is proposed based on Virtual Tubes(VTs)with flexible boundaries in the presence of un...In this paper,a distributed Event-Triggered(ET)collision avoidance coordinated control for Quadrotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(QUAVs)is proposed based on Virtual Tubes(VTs)with flexible boundaries in the presence of unknown external disturbances.Firstly,VTs are constructed for each QUAV,and the QUAV is restricted into the corresponding VT by the artificial potential field,which is distributed around the boundary of the VT.Thus,the collisions between QUAVs are avoided.Besides,the boundaries of the VTs are flexible by the modification signals,which are generated by the self-regulating auxiliary systems,to make the repulsive force smaller and give more buffer space for QUAVs without collision.Then,a novel ET mechanism is designed by introducing the concept of prediction to the traditional fixed threshold ET mechanism.Furthermore,a disturbance observer is proposed to deal with the adverse effects of the unknown external disturbance.On this basis,a distributed ET collision avoidance coordinated controller is proposed.Then,the proposed controller is quantized by the hysteresis uniform quantizer and then sent to the actuator only at the ET instants.The boundedness of the closed-loop signals is verified by the Lyapunov method.Finally,simulation and experimental results are performed to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed control method.展开更多
The emerging virtual coupling technology aims to operate multiple train units in a Virtually Coupled Train Set(VCTS)at a minimal but safe distance.To guarantee collision avoidance,the safety distance should be calcula...The emerging virtual coupling technology aims to operate multiple train units in a Virtually Coupled Train Set(VCTS)at a minimal but safe distance.To guarantee collision avoidance,the safety distance should be calculated using the state-of-the-art space-time separation principle that separates the Emergency Braking(EB)trajectories of two successive units during the whole EB process.In this case,the minimal safety distance is usually numerically calculated without an analytic formulation.Thus,the constrained VCTS control problem is hard to address with space-time separation,which is still a gap in the existing literature.To solve this problem,we propose a Distributed Economic Model Predictive Control(DEMPC)approach with computation efficiency and theoretical guarantee.Specifically,to alleviate the computation burden,we transform implicit safety constraints into explicitly linear ones,such that the optimal control problem in DEMPC is a quadratic programming problem that can be solved efficiently.For theoretical analysis,sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee the recursive feasibility and stability of DEMPC,employing compatibility constraints,tube techniques and terminal ingredient tuning.Moreover,we extend our approach with globally optimal and distributed online EB configuration methods to shorten the minimal distance among VCTS.Finally,experimental results demonstrate the performance and advantages of the proposed approaches.展开更多

A multicast protocol, called sender initiated grouping multicast protocol for DVE (SIGMP), is proposed. This new multicast protocol is based on a novel concept, multicast group (MG), which divides all participants in a DVE system into groups, among which there is a multicast group trustee (MGT) node to manage the group. The protocol provides unreliable/reliable, totally ordered and multiple to multiple multicast transmission service for DVE systems without sacrificing the communication efficiency heavily. At the same time, reliable unicast and one to multiple multicast transmission services are also supported. The performance analysis of the new protocols is also presented. Based on SIGMP, a simple demonstration of DVE system is designed and implemented. This demo system is running on several SGI workstations connected by a FDDI and Ethernet network.展开更多
The paradigm shift from a coal-based power system to a renewable-energy-based power system brings more challenges to the supply-demand balance of the grid.Distributed energy resources(DERs),which can provide operating...The paradigm shift from a coal-based power system to a renewable-energy-based power system brings more challenges to the supply-demand balance of the grid.Distributed energy resources(DERs),which can provide operating reserve to the grid,are regarded as a promising solution to compensate for the power fluctuation of the renewable energy resources.Small-scale DERs can be aggregated as a virtual power plant(VPP),which is eligible to bid in the operating reserve market.Since the DERs usually belong to different entities,it is important to investigate the VPP operation framework that coordinates the DERs in a trusted man-ner.In this paper,we propose a blockchain-assisted operating reserve framework for VPPs that aggregates various DERs.Considering the heterogeneity of various DERs,we propose a unified reserve capacity evaluation method to facilitate the aggregation of DERs.By considering the mismatch between actual available reserve capacity and the estimated value,the performance of VPP in the operating reserve market is improved.A hardware-based experimental system is developed,and numerical results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed framework.展开更多

The objective of this paper is to provide a robust Virtual Power Plant(VPP)network collaborated with Internet of Things(IoT)which uses a conceptual model to integrate each device in the grid.Based on the functionality...The objective of this paper is to provide a robust Virtual Power Plant(VPP)network collaborated with Internet of Things(IoT)which uses a conceptual model to integrate each device in the grid.Based on the functionality all the devices which are purely distributed within the grid are networked initially from residential units to substations and up to service data and demand centres.To ensure the trapping of the available power and the efficient transfer of Distributed Generation(DG)power to the grid Distribution Active Control(DAC)strategy is used.Synchronized optimization of DG parameter which includes DG size,location and type are adopted using Dispatch strategy.The case studies are optimized by rescheduling the generation and with load curtailment.Maximized Customer Benefit(MCB)is taken as an objective function and a straight forward solution is given by heuristic search techniques.This method was vindicated in a practical Indian Utility system.This control proposes better performances,ensures reliability and efficiency even under parameter variations along with disturbances which is justified using IEEE 118 bus system and real time Indian utility 63 bus system.Results reveal that the proposed technique proves advantages of low computational intricacy.展开更多
In the large-scale Distributed Virtual Environment(DVE)multimedia systems,one of key challenges is to distributedly preserve causal order delivery of messages in real time.Most of the existing causal order control app...In the large-scale Distributed Virtual Environment(DVE)multimedia systems,one of key challenges is to distributedly preserve causal order delivery of messages in real time.Most of the existing causal order control approaches with real-time constraints use vector time as causal control information which is closely coupled with system scales.As the scale expands,each message is attached a large amount of control information that introduces too much network transmission overhead to maintain the real-time causal order delivery.In this article,a novel Lightweight Real-Time Causal Order(LRTCO)algorithm is proposed for large-scale DVE multimedia systems.LRTCO predicts and compares the network transmission times of messages so as to select the proper causal control information of which the amount is dynamically adapted to the network latency variations and unconcerned with system scales.The control information in LRTCO is effective to preserve causal order delivery of messages and lightweight to maintain the real-time property of DVE systems.Experimental results demonstrate that LRTCO costs low transmission overhead and communication bandwidth,reduces causal order violations efficiently,and improves the scalability of DVE systems.展开更多

The protocol provides unreliable/reliable, totally ordered and multiple to multiple multicast transmission service for DVE systems without sacrificing the communication efficiency heavily. At the same time, reliable unicast and one to multiple multicast transmission services are also supported. The performance analysis of the new protocols is also presented. Based on SIGMP, a simple demonstration of DVE system is designed and implemented. This demo system is running on several SGI workstations connected by a FDDI and Ethernet network.

文摘The paradigm shift from a coal-based power system to a renewable-energy-based power system brings more challenges to the supply-demand balance of the grid.Distributed energy resources(DERs),which can provide operating reserve to the grid,are regarded as a promising solution to compensate for the power fluctuation of the renewable energy resources.Small-scale DERs can be aggregated as a virtual power plant(VPP),which is eligible to bid in the operating reserve market.Since the DERs usually belong to different entities,it is important to investigate the VPP operation framework that coordinates the DERs in a trusted man-ner.In this paper,we propose a blockchain-assisted operating reserve framework for VPPs that aggregates various DERs.Considering the heterogeneity of various DERs,we propose a unified reserve capacity evaluation method to facilitate the aggregation of DERs.By considering the mismatch between actual available reserve capacity and the estimated value,the performance of VPP in the operating reserve market is improved.A hardware-based experimental system is developed,and numerical results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed framework.
文摘Distributed virtual coal-mine geography environment(CM-DVGE) researches the virtual reality simulation of coal-mine environment in cyberspace and the performance of coal production process. The goal is to deal with the practical safety problems of observation, analysis, design and training during the underground coal production process. This paper first probed into the evolution of CM-DVGE from a historical point of view, then respectively analyzed the characteristics of its physical progressive levels according to the cognitivd law and its logical structure of data on the basis of data flow, and concluded by putting forward the prospect of the application of CM-DVGE, thus enriched and developed the method of synthetic study of coal mine.
文摘Studies the design of distributed virtual environments (DVEs) for tele-multi-robotics. The proposed design, incorporating two models ( distributlon-supported model and VE-supported model), attempts to represent common functionality, communication issues, and requirements found in multi-operator DVEs. The distribution-supported model concentrates on the introduction of computer-supported collaborative work (CSCW) to realize the coordination of multi-operators, while the VE-supported model concentrates on the utilization of an object-oriented approach to strengthen the expandability and robustness of the system. Finally, the configuration anti running environments of the system are given.
文摘The inherent complexity and uncertainty of multi-operator multi-robot (MOMR) tele-operation system make its safeguard an essential problem. Hazardous factors in the system are analyzed using fault tree analysis(FTA) technology, and three-layer interactive safety architecture with information flow is designed in modules to control the factors according to the holistic control mode. After that, distributed virtual environment (DVE) including the characteristics of virtual guide (VG) technology is discussed to help the operators achieve some tasks through the visibility of control commands, time-delay, movement collision and operators' intentions. Finally an experiment is implemented to test the efficiency of safety control architecture by using two robots to place some building blocks in the same workspace.
文摘The objective of this paper is to provide a robust Virtual Power Plant(VPP)network collaborated with Internet of Things(IoT)which uses a conceptual model to integrate each device in the grid.Based on the functionality all the devices which are purely distributed within the grid are networked initially from residential units to substations and up to service data and demand centres.To ensure the trapping of the available power and the efficient transfer of Distributed Generation(DG)power to the grid Distribution Active Control(DAC)strategy is used.Synchronized optimization of DG parameter which includes DG size,location and type are adopted using Dispatch strategy.The case studies are optimized by rescheduling the generation and with load curtailment.Maximized Customer Benefit(MCB)is taken as an objective function and a straight forward solution is given by heuristic search techniques.This method was vindicated in a practical Indian Utility system.This control proposes better performances,ensures reliability and efficiency even under parameter variations along with disturbances which is justified using IEEE 118 bus system and real time Indian utility 63 bus system.Results reveal that the proposed technique proves advantages of low computational intricacy.

文摘In the large-scale Distributed Virtual Environment(DVE)multimedia systems,one of key challenges is to distributedly preserve causal order delivery of messages in real time.Most of the existing causal order control approaches with real-time constraints use vector time as causal control information which is closely coupled with system scales.As the scale expands,each message is attached a large amount of control information that introduces too much network transmission overhead to maintain the real-time causal order delivery.In this article,a novel Lightweight Real-Time Causal Order(LRTCO)algorithm is proposed for large-scale DVE multimedia systems.LRTCO predicts and compares the network transmission times of messages so as to select the proper causal control information of which the amount is dynamically adapted to the network latency variations and unconcerned with system scales.The control information in LRTCO is effective to preserve causal order delivery of messages and lightweight to maintain the real-time property of DVE systems.Experimental results demonstrate that LRTCO costs low transmission overhead and communication bandwidth,reduces causal order violations efficiently,and improves the scalability of DVE systems.
