Economic growth and fair distribution are two major goals pursued in economic development.Through a comparative analysis of economies such as those in Europe and the United States,it is found that:Economic growth does not have to be conditional on the expansion of income gap;growth will not automatically lead to fair distribution;efficiency and fairness can occur simultaneously;the transformation of the economic development mode can be achieved through income distribution.A shared development model that takes into account both growth and fairness is the choice to achieve sustained and stable economic growth.It is necessary to deepen the reform of the income distribution system,improve social security and other measures to promote the development achievements to benefit the majority of workers more,and achieve both efficiency and fairness at the same time. 展开更多

Development and validation of a predictive nomogram for the pregnancy rate after tubal anastomosis in women with tubal ligation

Objective Female sterilization is a common contraceptive method,but with changing family dynamics,an increasing number of women seek to restore fertility after tubal sterilization.Current clinical practice lacks effective tools for predicting pregnancy rates in this population after tubal anastomosis.This study aims to develop and internally validate a novel nomogram for predicting the pregnancy rate in women with tubal ligation after tubal anastomosis.Methods We developed a prediction model based on a training dataset of 208 patients with tubal ligation after undergoing tubal anastomosis between January 2012 and August 2020 at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital,Zhejiang University School of Medicine.The follow-up period for all patients was one year postsurgery,during which pregnancy outcomes were recorded.The LASSO regression model was used to optimize feature selection for the pregnancy rate risk model.The performance of the nomogram was assessed for its calibration,discrimination,and clinical usefulness.Internal validation was assessed.Results Predictors included in the prediction nomogram were age,type of anastomosis,sterilization duration,time of conception,and anti-Mullerian hormone(AMH)levels.The model displayed good discrimination,with a C-index of 0.924(95%CI:0.876–0.971),and good calibration.A high C-index value of 0.879 was still reached in the interval validation.Decision curve analysis revealed that the pregnancy rate nomogram was clinically useful when intervention was selected at the pregnancy rate possibility threshold of 1%.Conclusion This novel pregnancy rate nomogram incorporating age,type of anastomosis,sterilization duration,time of conception,and AMH could be conveniently used to predict the pregnancy rate in women with tubal ligation after tubal anastomosis. 展开更多

Antarctic krill(Euphausia superba)is a keystone species in the Southern Ocean;however,seasonal variations in reproductive development for krill are complex and remains unknown.A histological investigation with observations of external secondary sex features of krill in the south Scotia Sea region was carried out using a multi-seasonal dataset for detail reproductive descriptions for this commercially important species.The monthly development of secondary sexual characteristics,the thelycum,as well as of oocytes over a period of two years were described.It was observed that krill have diverse reproductive development characteristics within the ovary,and that this function differently between the juvenile,sub-adult,and adult stages.During the summer,adult krill ovaries are large and ripe with oocytes rich in yolk ready for release in late summer.Post spawning,the ovaries resorb,fragment,and regress throughout the autumn and winter.During reproductive diapause period,krill focus on absorbing nutrients.Un-released eggs are reabsorbed by the ovary,the permanent germinal zone is active,and early oocytes begin to develop in preparation for the egg production phase.Krill that are about to spawn have an ovary that fills the space between the digestive gland and muscle.The ovarian development of krill is divided into 10 sexual developmental stages.As a part of this study,data on the carapace thickness with similar development patterns in krill size and carapace width,was investigated for the first time to help understand krill growth and development. 展开更多

A novel system for measuring net photochemical ozone production rates in the atmosphere based on cavity ring-down spectroscopy(OPR-CRDS)was developed.The system consists of two chambers(a reaction chamber and a reference chamber)and a dual-channel O_(x)-CRDS detector.To minimize the wall loss of O_(x)in the chambers,the inner surfaces of both chambers are coated with Teflon film.The performance of the OPR-CRDS system was characterized.It was found that even though the photolysis frequency(J value)decreased by 10%,the decrease in the P(O_(3))caused by the ultraviolet-blocking film coating was less than 3%.The two chambers had a good consistency in the mean residence time and the measurement of NO_(2)and O_(x)under the condition of no sunlight.The detection limit of the OPR-CRDS was determined to be 0.20 ppbv/hr.To further verify the accuracy of the system,the direct measurement values of the OPR-CRDS systemwere comparedwith the calculation results based on radical(OH,HO_(2),and RO_(2))reactions,and a good correlation was obtained between the measured and calculated values.Finally,the developed instrument was applied to obtain the comprehensive field observations at an urban site in the Yangtze River Delta(China)for 40 days,the time series and change characteristics of the P(O_(3))were obtained directly,and the good environmental adaptability and stability of the OPR-CRDS system were demonstrated.It is expected that the new instrument will be beneficial to investigations of the relationship between P(O_(3))and its precursors. 展开更多

Background Based on observations in feral pigs,the role of dietary fibre and structure may be underestimated in suckling piglet nutrition.This study investigated the effect of grass hay offered to suckling piglets either separately or included in their creep feed,combined with nursery diets with or without grass pellet inclusion on growth performance and gastrointestinal development.Methods Thirty-six litters(14–15 piglets per litter)were divided into three equal groups of 12 litters per treatment during the suckling phase:control group(CON)received regular creep feed;GH group received chopped grass hay as-is in separate feeders alongside regular creep feed;PGH group received regular creep feed but barley and wheat were replaced by 28%grass pellets.After weaning(d 23),each litter was split into two dietary treatments in a splitplot design(pre-wean treatment as main plot).Two of the pre-wean diets were also offered until d 14 post-weaning,i.e.,CON(CON nursery diet,CON-C,GH-C,PGH-C)and PGH(GH nursery diet,CON-GH,GH-GH,PGH-GH).Thereafter,transitioning to a diet containing 13%wheat/barley or grass pellets,respectively,until d 39 post-weaning.Gastrointestinal morphology,gene expression of intestinal nutrient transporters and barrier proteins,metabolite profile and microbiota were assessed on the day before weaning,d 10 and d 38 post-weaning.A total of 24 piglets were sacrificed at each dissection point.Results At weaning,GH group had consumed 7 g/piglet grass hay,and PGH group had consumed 46 g/piglet creep feed.One day before weaning,GH piglets showed heavier emptied small intestine(P=0.044)and colon(P=0.065),higher SCFA production in proximal segments and lower SCFA production in colon(P<0.05).Higher abundance of Prevotellaceae NK3b31 group was observed in caecal and colonic content of PGH compared to GH group(P<0.05),and PGH group showed a lower energy conversion ratio(net energy intake/gain,P=0.035).Following weaning,GH nursery group had a reduced average daily gain(226 vs.183 g,P<0.001)during d 0–14,while this group showed compensatory growth afterwards(P=0.056).Main plot effects on increased expressions of CLDN3 and FFAR2 were observed in GH and PGH by d 38 post-weaning(P<0.05).An interaction effect showed greater luminal abundance of the Prevotellaceae NK3b31 group in GH-GH and PGH-GH groups compared to CON-GH on d 38.The GH nursery diet showed a better energy conversion ratio(P=0.006)with no influence on body weight and their SCFA production shifted towards proximal segments.Conclusion In conclusion, feeding a structured and fibre-rich diet to suckling piglets enhance their digestive tractdevelopment and adapt their microbiome to fibre digestion in later life. Maintaining a fibre-rich diet from sucklingto nursery is recommended, though this come with a transient reduction in weight gain caused by lower feed intakethat, however, can be recovered afterwards accompanied with an optimized energy conversion ratio. 展开更多

Background It is important to promote intestinal development and maturation of chicks for feed digestion and utilization,intestinal health,and disease resistance.This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary yeast cell wall polysaccharides(YCWP)addition on intestinal development and maturation of chickens and its potential action mechanism.Methods 180 one-day-old male Arbor Acres broilers were randomly assigned to three groups containing control(basal diets without any antibiotics or anticoccidial drug),bacitracin methylene disalicylate(BMD)-treated group(50 mg/kg)and YCWP-supplemented group(100 mg/kg).Results Compared with control group,in-feed antibiotic BMD continuous administration significantly decreased crypt depth(d 21)and villus height(d 42)along with mucosal maltase activity(d 42)in the ileum(P<0.05).Also,BMD markedly downregulated gene expression levels ofβ-catenin,lysozyme,occludin and FABP-2(d 21)and innate immune related genes CD83 and MHC-I mRNA levels(d 42,P<0.05),and decreased goblet cell counts in the ileum of chickens(d 21 and d 42,P<0.05).While,TLR-2,TLR-6 and iNOS mRNA abundances were notably upregulated by BMD treatment(d 42,P<0.05).Nevertheless,dietary YCWP addition significantly increased the ratio of villus height to crypt depth(d 21),villus surface area(d 21 and d 42),ileal alkaline phosphatase and maltase activities as well as goblet cell(d 21 and d 42)and IgA-producing plasma cell numbers as compared to BMD treatment(d 21,P<0.05).YCWP addition also upregulated gene expression levels of Lgr5,Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway related gene(Wnt3,β-catenin,d 21;β-catenin,d 42),intestinal cells proliferation marker Ki-67 and barrier function related genes(occludin,d 21 and d 42,P<0.05).Moreover,YCWP significantly increased antigen presenting cell marker related genes(MHC-II,d 21;CD83 and MHC-I,d 42),TLR-1,TLR-2 and TLR-6 mRNA levels(d 21,P<0.05).Cecal microbiome analysis showed that YCWP addition obviously improved cecal microbial composition,as indicated by increasing relative abundance of Fournierella,Psychrobacter and Ruminiclostridium on d 21,and Alistipes and Lactobacillus on d 42,which were positively related with gut development and maturation related indexes(P<0.05).Conclusion Collectively, YCWP promoted yet antibiotic BMD delayed intestinal morphological and immunologicaldevelopment linked with modulating gut microbiome in chickens. 展开更多

With long-term government support and col ective societal engagement,China's scientific and technological(S&T)societies have achieved significant progress in science popularization(SP),substantially contributing to the enhancement of national science communication capabilities and the improvement of citizens'scientific literacy.Within the overarching framework of advancing the high-quality development of China's SP endeavours in the new era,the high-quality development of SP by S&T societies plays a pivotal role.This study systematical y examines the chal enges and dilemmas confronting the high-quality development of SP within China's S&T societies.Theoretical y,it expands the research framework of col aborative mechanisms in science communication,while practical y proposing the construction of a‘six-in-one’high-quality SP service system encompassing brand development,platform construction,talent cultivation,specialized projects,incentive mechanisms and infrastructure development.Our research further reveals that empowering SP content innovation through digital and intel igent technologies,as wel as optimizing the compatibility of policy instrument portfolios,can strengthen the efficacy of SP services and provide systematic support for the modernization of S&T societies.This study not only offers policy references for improving the governance system of SP but also identifies future research directions,such as deepening comparative international studies and long-term efficacy evaluations,to advance the development of more explanatory theoretical frameworks.These efforts aim to bolster high-level S&T self-reliance and contribute to the construction of a world-leading scientific,educational and talent powerhouse. 展开更多

The“One Zone,Two Lands,One Park,and One Corridor”development strategy implemented in Guangxi,as a key component of China’s regional strategic deployment,provides opportunities and challenges for the development of local higher education.By comparing the strategic requirements,this paper uses the SWOT analysis method to conduct an in-depth analysis of the current status of higher education in Guangxi.The analysis results show that Guangxi’s higher education has certain advantages in geographical location but lacks educational resources.At the same time,the region’s higher education faces opportunities such as policy support and local industrial transformation and upgrading,but it also faces risks such as fierce external competition,mismatches between talent supply and demand,and financial constraints.Aiming at the above problems,this paper further proposes the Opportunity Capture Strategy,Adversity Breakthrough Strategy,Advantage Defense Strategy,and Disadvantage Resolution Strategy,aiming to solve the problems faced by regional higher education in serving the transformation of local development strategies. 展开更多

The third member of Shahejie Formation(also referred to as Sha 3 Member)in Dongpu Depression,China,a volatile,low-permeability oil reservoir with complex fluid compositions,is subjected to high temperature and high pressure(HPHT),which poses significant challenges to conventional water injection.To elucidate flow mechanisms and optimize development strategies,this study integrates constant-rate mercury injection(CRMI),nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR),and HPHT three-phase oil/gas/water relative permeability experiments to analyze pore-throat structures,movable fluid characteristics,and relative permeability.The CRMI results indicate that the reservoir exhibits low porosity and low permeability,with dominant throat radius ranging from 0.6 to 5.0μm,and mean pore-throat radius ratio ranging from 40.303 to 278.320,demonstrating significant microscopic heterogeneity.The NMR results reveal that water-alternating-gas(WAG)injection enhances oil recovery by 16.28%(Sample W1)and 13.52%(Sample W2)compared to conventional water injection,primarily due to the gas phase's low viscosity and high mobility,enabling access to micropores unreachable by water phases.The HPHT three-phase relative permeability tests demonstrate positive correlations between saturation and relative permeability,with oil permeability significantly influenced by three-phase saturation and rock wettability.These findings establish a microscopic seepage model for optimizing enhanced oil recovery(EOR)strategies in volatile reservoirs. 展开更多

In the current settings of osteosarcoma research and drug screening,in vitro three-dimensional(3D)models,which overcome the limitations of traditional models,are favored.In in vitro 3D models,tumor microenvironment simulation,particularly of the mechanical microenvironment,is crucial for estimating the biological effects of a tumor.However,current in vitro osteosarcoma model construction is often limited to a single mechanical signal,which fails to simulate the diversity of osteosarcoma mechanical stimuli.In this study,we utilized embedded bioprinting technology and the multiple response properties of calcium ions in soft and hard stiffness systems with osteosarcoma cell biological functions to construct an integrated gradient biomechanical signal-tailored osteosarcoma model(IGBSTOM).We achieved this by printing a fibrinogen bioink containing calcium ions and osteosarcoma tumor spheroids within an extracellular matrix composed of methacryloylated alginate,methacryloylated gelatin,thrombin,and transglutaminase,which is rich in polysaccharides and proteins and exhibits self-healing properties.Our in vitro and in vivo studies showed that the IGBSTOM enhanced tumor stemness,proliferation,and migration,and successfully reproduced the nest-like structure of tumors,providing an in vitro research platform that is more similar to the natural tumor than the existing models.This study proposes a novel IGBSTOM construction and provides a new strategy for the clinical understanding of tumor development,drug screening,and exploration of drug resistance and metastasis mechanisms. 展开更多
