At present, research on residual stress at home and abroad mainly focuses on the optimization of traditional detection technology, stress control of manufacturing process and service performance evaluation, among which research on residual stress detection methods mainly focuses on the improvement of the accuracy, sensitivity, reliability and other performance of existing detection methods, but it still faces many challenges such as extremely small detection range, low efficiency, large error and limited application range. 展开更多

Novel chromogenic medium-based method for the rapid detection of Helicobacter pylori drug resistance

BACKGROUND Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori),a globally prevalent pathogen,is exhibiting increasing rates of antimicrobial resistance.However,clinical implementation of pre-treatment susceptibility testing remains limited due to the organism’s fastidious growth requirements and prolonged culture time.AIM To propose a novel detection method utilizing antibiotic-supplemented media to inhibit susceptible strains,while resistant isolates were identified through urease-mediated hydrolysis of urea,inducing a phenol red color change for visual confirmation.METHODS Colombia agar was supplemented with urea,phenol red,and nickel chloride,and the final pH was adjusted to 7.35.Antibiotic-selective media were prepared by incorporating amoxicillin(0.5μg/mL),clarithromycin(2μg/mL),metronidazole(8μg/mL),or levofloxacin(2μg/mL)into separate batches.Gastric antral biopsies were homogenized and inoculated at 1.0×105 CFU onto the media,and then incubated under microaerobic conditions at 37°C for 28-36 hours.Resistance was determined based on a color change from yellow to pink,and the results were validated via broth microdilution according to Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines.RESULTS After 28-36 hours of incubation,the drug-resistant H.pylori isolates induced a light red color change in the medium.Conversely,susceptible strains(H.pylori 26695 and G27)produced no visible color change.Compared with the conventional 11-day protocol,the novel method significantly reduced detection time.Among 201 clinical isolates,182 were successfully evaluated using the new method,resulting in a 90.5%detection rate.This was consistent with the 95.5%agreement rate observed when compared with microdilution-based susceptibility testing.The success rate of the novel approach was significantly higher than that of the comparative method(P<0.01).The accuracy of the new method was comparable to that of the dilution method.CONCLUSION The novel detection method can rapidly detect H.pylori drug resistance within 28-36 hours.With its operational simplicity and high diagnostic performance,it holds strong potential for clinical application in the management of H.pylori antimicrobial resistance. 展开更多

Lithium-plating-type defects in lithium-ion batteries pose severe safety risks due to their potential to trigger thermal runaway.To prevent defective batteries from entering the market,developing in-line detection methods during manufacturing is critical yet challenging.This study introduces a deep learning-based method for detecting lithium-plating-type defects using formation and capacity grading data,enabling accurate identification of defective batteries without additional equipment.First,lithiumplating-type defect batteries with various types and area ratios are fabricated.Formation and capacity grading data from 154 batteries(48 defective,106 normal)are collected to construct a dataset.Subsequently,a dual-task deep learning model is then developed,where the reconstruction task learns latent representations from the features,while the classification task identifies the defective batteries.Shapley value analysis further quantifies feature importance,revealing that defective batteries exhibit reduced coulombic efficiency(attributed to irreversible lithium loss)and elevated open-circuit voltage/K-values(linked to self-equalization effects).These findings align with the electrochemical mechanisms of lithium plating,enhancing the model's interpretability.Validated on statistically robust samples shows that the framework achieves a recall of 97.14%for defective batteries and an overall accuracy of 97.42%.This deep learning-driven solution provides a scalable and cost-effective quality control strategy for battery manufacturing. 展开更多

Food safety problems caused by excessive nitrite addition have been frequently reported and the detection of nitrite in food is particularly important. The standing time during the pretreatment of primary sample has a great influence on the concentration of nitrite tested by spectrophotometric method. In this context, three kinds of food samples are prepared, including canned mustard, canned fish and home-made pickled water. A series of standing times are placed during the sample pretreatments and the corresponding nitrite contents in these samples are detected by spectrophotometric method based on N-ethylenediamine dihydrochloride. This study aims to find out a reasonable standing time during the pretreatment of food sample, providing influence factor for precise detection of nitrite. 展开更多

The dual transmitter implements the equivalent anti-magnetic flux transient electromagnetic method, which can effectively reduce the scope of the transient electromagnetic detection blind area. However, this method is rarely reported in the detection of pipelines in urban geophysical exploration and the application of coal mines. Based on this, this paper realizes the equivalent anti-magnetic flux transient electromagnetic method based on the dual launcher. The suppression effect of this method on the blind area is analyzed by physical simulation. And the detection experiment of underground pipelines is carried out outdoors. The results show that the dual launcher can significantly reduce the turn-off time, thereby effectively reducing the impact of the blind area on the detection results, and the pipeline detection results verify the device’s effectiveness. Finally, based on the ground experimental results, the application prospect of mine advanced detection is discussed. Compared with other detection fields, the formation of blind areas is mainly caused by the equipment. If the dual launcher can be used to reduce the blind area, the accuracy of advanced detection can be improved more effectively. The above research results are of great significance for improving the detection accuracy of the underground transient electromagnetic method. 展开更多

A reverse-transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) method was established for the detection of wheat streak mosaic virus (WSMV). Ac-cording to the conservative regions of the genes that encode the coat protein of WSMV, 2 pairs of primers were designed. Final y, the 1st pair of primers was select-ed through the specificity test. The sensitivity test showed the sensitivity of RT-LAMP method was 10 times higher than that of RT-PCR. In addition, the amplifica-tion of target gene could be judged visual y from the presence of fluorescence (cal-cein) in the final reaction system. The RT-LAMP method, established in this study, was rapid, easy, specific and sensitive. Moreover, it did not require sophisticated equip-ment. The RT-LAMP was suitable for the rapid detection of WSMV. 展开更多

Objective:To develop a quautitative PCR method for detecting hookworm infection and quantification.Methods:A real-time PCR method was designed hased on the intergenic regionⅡof ribosomal DNA of the hookworm Neeator americanus.The deteetion limit of this method was compared with the microscopy-hased Kato-Katz method.The real-time PCR method was used to conduct an epidemiological survey of hookworm infection in southern Fujian Province of China.Result:The real-time PCR method was specific for detecting Necator americanus infection,and was more sensitive than conventional PCR or microscopy-based method.A preliminary survey for hookworm infection in villages of Fujian Province confirmed the high prevalence of hnokworm infections in the resident populations.In addition,the infection rate in women was significantly higher than thai of in men.Conclusions:A real-time PCR method is designed,which has increased detection sensitivity for more accurate epidemiological studies of hookworm infections,especially when intensity of the infection needs to he considered. 展开更多

Simultaneous localization and mapping(SLAM) technology is a research hotspot in the field of intelligent mobile robot, and many researchers have developed many classic systems in the past few decades. However, most of the existing SLAM methods assume that the environment of the robot is static, which results in the performance of the system being greatly reduced in the dynamic environment. To solve this problem, a new dynamic object detection method based on point cloud motion analysis is proposed and incorporated into ORB-SLAM2. First, the method is regarded as a preprocessing stage, detecting moving objects in the scene, and then removing the moving objects to enhance the performance of the SLAM system. Experiments performed on a public RGB-D dataset show that the motion cancellation method proposed in this paper can effectively improve the performance of ORB-SLAM2 in a highly dynamic environment. 展开更多

Avian influenza (AI), caused by the influenza A virus, has been a global concern for public health. AI outbreaks not only impact the poultry production, but also give rise to a risk in food safety caused by viral contamination of poultry products in the food supply chain. Distinctions in AI outbreak between strains H5N1 and H7N9 indicate that early detection of the AI virus in poultry is crucial for the effective warning and control of AI to ensure food safety. Therefore, the establishment of a poultry surveillance system for food safety by early detection is urgent and critical. In this article, methods to detect AI virus, including current methods recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (Office International des Epizooties, OIE) and novel techniques not commonly used or commercialized are reviewed and evaluated for feasibility of use in the poultry surveillance system. Conventional methods usually applied for the purpose of AI diagnosis face some practical challenges to establishing a comprehensive poultry surveillance program in the poultry supply chain. Diverse development of new technologies can meet the specific requirements of AI virus detection in various stages or scenarios throughout the poultry supply chain where onsite, rapid and ultrasensitive methods are emphasized. Systematic approaches or integrated methods ought to be employed according to the application scenarios at every stage of the poultry supply chain to prevent AI outbreaks. 展开更多

However, the existin... Real-time liquefaction monitoring and warning techniques are new ways to mitigate liquefaction hazard. A key point is to establish a reverse liquefaction detection method based on seismic records. However, the existing methods are quite limited and the reliability requires verification. On Feb. 22, 2011 an earthquake of magnitude 6.3 struck at New Zealand's South Island. Remarkable liquefaction phenomena were reported, which provide an opportunity to verify the existing liquefaction detection methods. 27 acceleration records within 50 km to the epicenter were selected to perform a blind detection by using the existing methods, including Miyajima method, Suzuki method, Kostadinov-Yamazaki method and Yuan-Sun method. The blind detection results indicate that Yuan-Sun method gives correct results for seven confirmed sites, and Suzuki method and Yuan-Sun method yield correct detection for a reported non-liquefied site. Four methods including the Yuan-Sun method give identical detection for four sites and three methods also including the Yuan-Sun method give identical detection for ten sites. Besides, there are five sites, for which the four methods give opposite detection. 展开更多

Surface irradiance measurements with high temporal resolution can be used to detect clear skies,which is a critical step for further study,such as aerosol and cloud radiative effects.Twenty-one clear-sky detection(CSD)methods are assessed based on five years of 1-min surface irradiance data at Xianghe—a heavily polluted station on the North China Plain.Total-sky imager(TSI)discrimination results corrected by manual checks are used as the benchmark for the evaluation.The performance heavily relies on the criteria adopted by the CSD methods.Those with higher cloudy-sky detection accuracy rates produce lower clear-sky accuracy rates,and vice versa.A general tendency in common among all CSD methods is the detection accuracy deteriorates when aerosol loading increases.Nearly all criteria adopted in CSD methods are too strict to detect clear skies under polluted conditions,which is more severe if clear-sky irradiance is not properly estimated.The mean true positive rate(CSD method correctly detects clear sky)decreases from 45%for aerosol optical depth(AOD)≤0.2%to 6%for AOD>0.5.The results clearly indicate that CSD methods in a highly polluted region still need further improvements. 展开更多

Mycotoxins and their derivatives since their discoveries and until the present time are behind unspecified economic and medical damages.Aflatoxins are classified according to their physical–chemical and toxicological characters in the most dangerous row of the mycotoxins.These aflatoxins are in part responsible,of irreversible medical disasters that are not easily manageable such as cancer of the liver and kidneys,and in the other part,of losses in the stored cereal products.Based on these crucial findings,monitoring of this toxin became imperative in post-harvest food products,during storage,during transformation chain and even during the long phases of conservation.Vigilance of this toxin is delivered by detection methods using very advanced technologies to respond in the shortest possible times.In addition,the knowledge of factors supporting the biosynthesis of aflatoxins such as the temperature,moisture content,concentration of nitrogen and carbon,and the molecules responsible for the genetic control of the synthesis will be reflected later in the choice of bio-control techniques.This control is currently based on new strategies using the bioactives substances of the plants,the lactic bacteria and some strains of actinomycetes that have good inhibiting activity against aflatoxins with fewer side effects on Man.On the other hand,this brief review summarizes the results of new studies demonstrating the toxicity of the toxin,new detection methods and bio-control. 展开更多

SST fronts at the mesoscale eddy edge(ME fronts)were investigated from 2007–2017 in the northern South China Sea(NSCS)based on an automatic method using satellite sea level anomaly(SLA)and SST data.The relative probabilities between the number of anticyclonic/cyclonic ME fronts(AEF/CEF)and the number of anticyclones/cyclones reached 20%.The northeastern and southwestern parts of these anticyclones had more fronts than the northwestern and southeastern parts,although CEFs were nearly equally distributed in all directions.The number of ME fronts had remarkable seasonal variations,while the eddy kinetic energy(EKE)showed no seasonal variations.The total EKE at the ME fronts was three times of that within the MEs,and it was much stronger in AEFs than in CEFs.The interannual variability in the number of ME fronts and EKE had no significant correlation with the El Ni?o-Southern Oscillation(ENSO)index.Possible mechanisms of ME fronts were discussed,but the contributions of mesoscale eddies to SST fronts need to be quantified in future studies. 展开更多

Most multiphase flow separation detection methods used commonly in oilfields are low in efficiency and accuracy,and have data delay.An online multiphase flow detection method is proposed based on magnetic resonance technology,and its supporting device has been made and tested in lab and field.The detection technology works in two parts:measure phase holdup in static state and measure flow rate in flowing state.Oil-water ratio is first measured and then gas holdup.The device is composed of a segmented magnet structure and a dual antenna structure for measuring flowing fluid.A highly compact magnetic resonance spectrometer system and intelligent software are developed.Lab experiments and field application show that the online detection system has the following merits:it can measure flow rate and phase holdup only based on magnetic resonance technology;it can detect in-place transient fluid production at high frequency and thus monitor transient fluid production in real time;it can detect oil,gas and water in a full range at high precision,the detection isn’t affected by salinity and emulsification.It is a green,safe and energy-saving system. 展开更多

In this study, fructose and glucose contents in honey were determined by liquid chromatography-refractive index detection method and alkaline copper tartrate solution-direct titration method. According to the results, there were great differences between determination results of reducing sugar contents by liquid chromatography-refractive index detection method and alkaline copper tartrate solution-direct titration method. Specifically, average determination results of reducing sugar contents by liquid chromatography-refractive index detection method were reduced by about 9.5% compared with alkaline copper tartrate solution-direct titra- tion method. Subsequently, determination results of reducing sugar contents by two methods were compared and analyzed. Liquid chromatography-refractive index detection method was used to determine fructose and glucose monomers in honey, but alkaline copper tartrate solution-direct titration method was used to determine reducing sugar composition in honey, which might lead to significantly different results. Due to small sample size and limited conditions, the determination results were not necessarily representative. Bee product acquisition and processing enterprises and relevant departments should pay much attention on these issues and fully consider the current situation of grass-roots units to develop scientific, rigorous, simple, universal, convenient, low-cost and practicable standards, thus ensuring the safety and reliability of food quality. 展开更多

In this paper we present two strategies of AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) region detection and an approach to decompose the detection region according to the direction of the ocean current. In the task of local detection and identification, the algorithm against the ocean current was proposed. In the tasks of closing obstacle, going back or moving, the fuzzy logic theory was used to solve the effect of ocean current. In one of our strategies the concept of weighted journey based on the angle between heading and ocean current is suggested and the TSP's exact optimal result is utilized to solve the global path planning. Simulations demonstrate the feasibility of this approach. 展开更多

These microorganisms are generally transmitted in fecal-contaminated water. However, <i>E. dispar</i> present in industrial wastewater is also capable of creating biofilms that can cause adverse impacts in piping networks. Therefore, it is important to detect both of these protozoan species in water and to find a cost-effective technique for inactivation or management control.
