Through a case study of a surge shaft blasting project, the capability of the EMD (empirical mode decomposition) method in identifying the delay time of short millisecond blasting with precise initiation was compared with the instantaneous energy method based on Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT). The recognition rate of the EMD method was more than 80%, while the instantaneous energy method was less than 25%. By analyzing the instantaneous energy of single-hole blasting signal, it was found that the instantaneous energy method was adaptable to millisecond blasting with delay time longer than half of the energy peak period. The EMD method was used to identify delay time of millisecond blasting in Zijinshan open-pit mine. According to the identification results, the blasting parameters were optimized for controlling the blast-induced vibration and reducing the large block ratio. The field data showed that the velocity peak of ground vibration was reduced by more than 30%under almost the same maximum charge per delay by the optimization of delay time and detonating detonators. Combining with slag-remaining blasting and burden optimization of the first row, the large block ratio was reduced to less than 3%. The research results proved that the identification method based on HHT was feasible to optimize the blasting design. The identification method is also of certain reference value for design optimization of other similar blasting projects.展开更多

Research shows that the greater the delay time, the worse the immune effect of the immunization strategy. It is also found that the spread of the truth can inhibit to some extent the propagation of rumors, and the trend will become more obvious with the increase of reliability of the truth. Moreover, under the influence of delay time, the existence of nodes' identification force still slightly reduces the propagation degree of rumors.展开更多

Firstly, the non-Markov process is reduced to the Markov process through a path-integral approach; Secondly, the approximate Fokker-Planck equation is obtained by applying the unified coloured noise approximation, the small time delay approximation and the Novikov Theorem. The functional analysis and simplification are employed to obtain the approximate expressions of MFPT. The effects of non-Gaussian parameter (measures deviation from Gaussian character) r, the delay time τ, the noise correlation time to, the intensities D and a of noise on the MFPT are discussed. It is found that the escape time could be reduced by increasing the delay time τ, the noise correlation time τ0, or by reducing the intensities D and α. As far as we know, this is the first time to consider the effect of delay time on the mean first-passage time in the stochastic dynamical system.展开更多

However, once the system is identified to be in the minor defective state, there are two options. The first is to do nothing till the arrival of identifying the severe defect or hard failure, and the second is to repair immediately. Repair for any defect can renew the system with a limited probability such that the system may fail after repair due to human errors, which is common in many industrial applications. Two models are constructed by minimizing the expected cost per unit time and compared. We provide a numerical example to demonstrate the proposed model.展开更多

Results showed that the OVM including the delay is not physically sensitive to the speed relaxation times. A modified car-following model is proposed to overcome the deficiency. Analyses of the linear stability of the modified model were conducted. It is shown that coexisting flows appear if the initial homogeneous headway of the traffic flow is between critical values. In addition, phase transitions occur on varying the initially homogeneous headway.展开更多

A modified non-equilibrium plasma kinetic model was developed to simulate the temporal evolution of particles produced during nanosecond discharge and its afterglow. As important roles in ignition, path fluxes of O and H radicals were analyzed in detail. Different strength of E/N and different discharge duration were applied to the discharge process in this study. And the results presented that a deposited energy of 1–30 m J·cm^(-3) could dramatically reduce the ignition delay time. Furthermore, temperature and radicals analysis was conducted to investigate the effect of non-equilibrium plasma on production of intermediate radicals. Finally, sensitivity analysis was employed to have further understanding on ignition chemistries of the mixture under nanosecond discharge.展开更多

The delay time decreased with increasing stirring speed. For O/W inversion to W/O, the delay time was very sensitive to the oil volume fraction and the initial stirring speed. Increased oil volume fraction and increased initial stirring speed both reduced the delay time. Inversion from W/O to O/W was a gradual process. But inversion from O/W to W/O had two stages: the preparation stage and the phase inversion stage. The time needed in the first stage was the delay time.展开更多

This algorithm applies periodogram and parabolic interpolation to the cross correlation spectrum of band limited stochastic signals, and can obtain a continuous time delay estimator. Simulations are carried out to compare the performance of the proposed algorithm with that of other subsample TDE algorithms. Results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms other algorithms and reachs the Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) at a high signal- to-noise ratio. For the wideband characteristic and the randomness of the transmitting signal, the proposed algo- rithm is suitable for the low probability of intercept radars.
文摘A neural network Smith predictive control strategy is proposed to deal with inpu t and feedback time delays in telerobot systems. The delay time is assumed to b e invariant and unknown. The proposed control structure consists of a slave syst em and a master controller. In the slave system, a recurrent neural network (RNN ) with on-line weight tuning algorithm is employed to approximate the dynamics of the time-delay-free nonlinear plant, which is used to linearize the slave s ystem. The master controller is a Smith predictor for the linearized slave syste m, which provides prediction and maintains the desirable tracking performance. S tability propriety is guaranteed based on the Lyapunov method. A simulation of a two-link robotic manipulator is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of th e proposed control strategy.
文摘Purpose–This research paper aims to investigate the effects of gradual deployment of market penetration rates(MPR)of connected vehicles(MPR of CVs)on delay time and fuel consumption.Design/methodology/approach–A real-world origin-destination demand matrix survey was conducted in Boston,MA to identify the number of peak hour passing vehicles in the case study.Findings–The results showed that as the number of CVs(MPR)in the network increases, the total delay time decreases by an average of 14%and the fuel consumption decreases by an average of 56%,respectively,from scenarios 3 to 15 compared to scenario 2.Research limitations/implications–The first limitation of this study was considering a small network. The considered network shows a small part of the case study.Originality/value–This study can be a milestone for future research regarding gradual deployment of CVs’effects on transport networks.Efficient policy(s)may define based on the results of this network for Brockton transport network.
文摘A new algorithm is proposed for computing the embedding dimension and delay time in phase space reconstruction. It makes use of the zero of the nonbias multiple autocorrelation function of the chaotic time series to determine the time delay, which efficiently depresses the computing error caused by tracing arbitrarily the slop variation of average displacement(AD)in AD algorithm.Thereafter,by means of the iterative algorithm of multiple autocorrelation andΓtest, the near-optimum parameters of embedding dimension and delay time are estimated. This algorithm is provided with a sound theoretic basis, and its computing complexity is relatively lower and not strongly dependent on the data length. The simulated experimental results indicate that the relative error of the correlation dimension of standard chaotic time series is decreased from 4.4%when using conventional algorithm to 1.06%when using this algorithm. The accuracy of invariants in phase space reconstruction is greatly improved.
文摘By establishing equivalent fixed point theorem, the boundary value problems of p Laplace equations with finite time delay are studied. It’s the first time that the functional differential equation is discussed with p Laplacian. The topological degree and fixed point theorem on cone are used to prove the existence of solution and positive solution. The conditions are all easy to check.

文摘A delay time was observed for both W/O inversion to O/W and the opposite inversion process. The time needed in the first stage was the delay time.
