In this paper, the dynamic response of Mindlin plate analytical model was converted to its numerical form using finite difference algorithm. The numerical model was analysed to ascertain the critical parameters contributing to the deflection of Mindlin plate under a moving load. The examination was more reasonable as in the likelihood of the plate laying on a Pasternak foundation was put into thought. Likewise the impact of damping was not dismissed. The plate considered in this paper was an inclined Mindlin plate, where the impacts of shear deformation and rotatory inertia were considered. The numerical equations were solved with the help of a developed computer program and Matlab. The results were consistent with what we have in the literature. The effects of the Pasternak foundation, damping, angle of inclination, and the moving load to the dynamic response of the elastic plate were exceptionally self-evident.展开更多

This is done by normalizing the measurement vector entering into the identification algorithm. rt is shown that the parametric distance converges to a zero mean random variable. This article proposes a new inner attitude integration algorithm to improve attitude accuracy of the strapdown inertial attitude and heading reference system (SIAHRS) , which, by means of a Kalman filter, integrates...This article proposes a new inner attitude integration algorithm to improve attitude accuracy of the strapdown inertial attitude and heading reference system (SIAHRS) , which, by means of a Kalman filter, integrates the calculated attitude from the accelerometers in inertial measuring unit (IMU) , called damping attitudes, with those from the conventional IMU. As vehicle' s acceleration could produce damping attitude errors, the horizontal outputs from accelerometers are firstly used to judge the vehicle' s motion so as to determine whether the damping attitudes could be reasonably applied. This article also analyzes the limitation of this approach. Furthermore, it suggests a residual chi-square test to judge the validity of damping attitude measurement in real time, and accordingly puts forward proper information fusion strategy. Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is proved through the experiments on a real system in dynamic and static states.展开更多
In this paper,a new system of semi active structural control with active variable stiffness and damping (AVSD) is suggested.This new system amplifies the structural displacement to dissipate more energy,and in turn,ef...In this paper,a new system of semi active structural control with active variable stiffness and damping (AVSD) is suggested.This new system amplifies the structural displacement to dissipate more energy,and in turn,effectively reduces the structural response in the case of relatively small story drifts,which occur during earthquakes.A predictive instantaneous optimal control algorithm is established for a SDOF structure equipped with an AVSD system Comparative shaking table tests of a 1/4 scale single story structural model with a full scale control device have been conducted.From the experimental and analytical results,it is shown that when compared to structures without control or with the active variable stiffness control alone, the suggested system exhibits higher efficiency in controlling the structural response,requires less energy input,operates with higher reliability,and can be manufactured at a lower cost and used in a wider range of engineering applications.展开更多

Genetic algorithms (GAs) are employed as the search tool for optimization because these algorithms are suitable f...The optimizations of constrained layered damped (CLD) laminated structures are discussed in this study. Genetic algorithms (GAs) are employed as the search tool for optimization because these algorithms are suitable for solving optimization problems involving multiple discrete variable combinations. The numerical computation packages, ANSYS and MATLAB, have been used to estimate the optimum stacking sequence of CLD laminated structures. MATLAB package is used to achieve GAs process, and ANSYS package is used to proceed the structural analysis. This study successfully developed a numerical simulation mechanism for optimizing CLD adhesion efficiency by implementing GAs and the finite element method. The loss coefficients of the CLD damping layer vary with vibration frequency and failure constraints of CLD laminated plates are considered in objective function. In addition, the modified plasticity analysis (MPA) is used to increase the search efficiency of GAs and simply plastic analysis.展开更多
