To achieve this goal, Ho-β-CD complex was prepared by evaporation method of holmium and beta cyclodextrin solutions in a proportion (1:1) and (1:3), respectively. Infrared (IR) and Raman spectroscopy, X-Ray Diffraction were performed to identify the complex. Morphology of the Ho, β-CD, and Ho-β-CD were studied using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). 展开更多

The inclusion complexes of poorly water-soluble cephalosporin, cefuroxime axetil(CFA), were prepared with β-cyclodextrin(βCD) with or without addition of L-arginine(ARG) to improve its physicochemical properties. We also investigated the effect of ARG on complexation efficiency(CE) of βCD towards CFA in an aqueous medium through phase solubility behaviour according to Higuchi and Connors. Although phase solubility studies showed AL(linear) type of solubility curve in presence and absence of ARG, the CE and association constant(Ks) of βCD towards CFA were significantly promoted in presence of ARG,justifying its use as a ternary component. The solid systems of CFA with βCD were obtained by spray drying technique with or without incorporation of ARG and characterized by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), X-ray powder diffractometry(XRPD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and saturation solubility and dissolution studies. The molecular modeling studies provided a better insight into geometry and inclusion mode of CFA inside βCD cavity. The solubility and dissolution rate of CFA were significantly improved upon complexation with βCD as compared to CFA alone. However, ternary system incorporated with ARG performed better than binary system in physicochemical evaluation. In conclusion, ARG could be exploited as a ternary component to improve the physicochemical properties of CFA via βCD complexation. 展开更多

The inclusion complex of β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) and sulfurized isobutylene (T321) was prepared with a co-precipitation method. The tribological properties of the complex with different concentrations were investigated by a four-ball tester in the solution of polyethylene glycol-600 (PEG-600). The experimental results suggest that the complex exhibits better anti-friction and anti-wear properties than β-CD under different load conditions. The tribo-system shows the least friction coefficient when the concentration of the complex is 0.8%. During the friction process, the complex was decomposed into various molecular fragments and the T321 molecules were released onto the friction interface to provide effective lubrication. The XPS analytical results on the worn surfaces reveal that sulfide film formed by the released T321 plays a major role, and the iron alkoxide and carbon deposition films formed by the β-CD fragments have better anti-friction effect on the sulfide film surface. The interactions of different films result in the formation of a mixed boundary lubrication film. 展开更多

A series of monomethoxy poly(ethylene glycol) (mPEG) grafted copolyglutamates (PmPEGs) were synthesized through ring-opening polymerization (ROP) followed by click chemistry. Supramolecular hydrogels based on polymer inclusion complexes (ICs) between PmPEG and α-cyclodextriri (α-CD) were prepared in aqueous solution. The rheological measurements indicated their gelation properties were affected by several factors including the mPEG length, graft density and the sample concentration. These hydrogels displayed thermo-sensitive gel-sol transition under appropriate conditions due to the reversible mPEG and α-CD inclusion complexation. These hydrogels also showed pH-sensitive behavior due to the deprotonate of carboxylic acid side groups. The ICs formation of a channel-type crystalline structure induced gelation mechanism was verified by various techniques. In vitro cytotoxicity assays demonstrated that the supramolecular hydrogels are nontoxic and cytocompatible. 展开更多

The inclusion complex of β-cyclodextrin with m-nitrophenoxyacetic acid was studied by single crystal X-ray diffraction,2D NMR spectroscopy and semi-empirical methods AMI.The crystallographic study shows that two β-cyclodextrins are held together by hydrogen bonds to form head-to-head dimers.The disordered vip molecule adjusts itself to attain the most stable accommodation into the cavity in which the nitro group is located at the dimer interface while the carboxyl group is buried in the primary hydroxyl groups of β-cyclodextrin.The vip inside the cavity is disordered over two sites and exhibits mobility.Moreover,2D NMR spectroscopy and theoretical study show the same inclusion behavior.In comparison to the inclusion complex of β-cyclodextrin with p-nitrophenoxyacetic acid,the host-vip stoichiometries are different,i.e.,2:1 for m-nitrophenoxyacetic acid and 1:1 for p-nitrophenoxyacetic acid,while the inclusion orientation and the packing pattern of the host are similar in both complexes. 展开更多

The complex contains two β-CDs, two 4-chlorobenzoic acids and twenty-nine water molecules in the asymmetric unit, and can be formulated as 2(C42H70O35)·2(CTH5O2Cl)·29(H2O). In the crystal lattice, two β-CDs form a face-to-face dimer jointed together through hydrogen bonding between the secondary hydroxyl groups of β--CDs. Two 4-chlorobenzoic acid molecules which contact by C-Cl…π interactions are included in the β-CD dimer cavity. The β-CD dimers are arranged in brickwork-like pattern along the crystallographic a-axis. The effect of vip molecule length on the inclusion geometry was discussed by comparative study of some fl-CD complexes containing similar vips. 展开更多

The inclusion complex reaction condition and the mechanism of β cyclodextrin with hymecromone have been studied by fluorescent spectrum. The fluorescent intensity and the stability of the system can be qreatly increased in qiven condition, and the formation constant of the inclusion complex reaction has been determined too. The system can be applied to the determination of trace amounts of hymecromone, the maximum fluorescent intensity is obtained with excitation and emission wavelength at 362 nm and 452 nm, respectively. The linear range for hymecromone is 8.0×10 -9 mol·L -1 to 1.0×10 -5 mol·L -1 . The detection limit is 1.8×10 -9 mol·L -1 . A simple, rapid and highly sensitive fluorimetric method is proposed for the determination of hymecromone. The results obtained are in agreement with those given by an official method. 展开更多

The inclusion behavior of 4, 4' -Thiodiphenol (TDP), a typical bisphenol and endocrine disruptor, reacts with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) in aqueous solutions has been investigated by means of UV absorption spectrum and quantum-chemical calculation with Gaussian 98 software. The results show that the inclusion behavior of TDP is quite different in acidic solutions (pH 5.9) from that in alkaline solutions (pH 10.0). This behavior difference is attributed to the different formula structures in aqueous solutions at acidic and alkaline pH values that are demonstrated by quantum- chemical modeling and calculation. TDP forms a 1 : 1 fl-CD inclusion complex in aqueous solutions. The equiiibrium constant K was calculated to be 553.49 L/mol at pH 5.9 and 1 318.20 L/mol at pH 10.0 respectively for the inclusion complex reaction by using the modified Benesi-Heldbrand equation. After inclusion TDP's structure is changed especially at the inclusion part with the bond order becoming larger, which results in inhibitive photodegradation during direct photooxidation and H2O2 assisted photooxidation. 展开更多

Quantum chemical calculations were carried out to investigate the structures and properties for the inclusion complexes of nitrobenzene (NB) into β-cyclodextrin. Two low-energy conformations of β-cyclodextrin (A and B) in the gas phase were initially investigated by the PM3 and B3LYP/6-31+G(d,p) calculations, respectively. Three different orientations were considered in the inclusion process of A and B with NB to form 1:1 complexes. Potential energy scan by PM3 calculations indicated that the phenyl orientation Ab for conformation A and the equator orientation Bc for conformation B are more favorable in energy, respectively. We also considered the 2:1 inclusion complexes of host A or B with vip NB in the gas phase. PM3 calculation indicated that the host-vip interaction energies to form 1:1 complexes are more negative than those to form 2:1 NB/B complexes. Finally, we studied the solvent effect of NB/CD complex, and PM3 results show that the influence of water molecules on the inclusion process is very important. The driving forces for the inclusion process and the geometries of complexes were discussed in detail. 展开更多
