This study investigates the coordination between regional economic growth and ecological sustainability within the context of high-quality town economy development.To address the challenges of balancing economic expansion with environmental protection,a comprehensive evaluation index system is constructed,encompassing two key dimensions:regional economy and ecological environment.Using panel data from 2013 to 2022,the coupling coordination degree model is employed to quantify the interactions and synergy between these dimensions.Additionally,spatial econometric methods are applied to calculate both global and local Moran’s Index,revealing spatial clustering patterns,regional disparities,and heterogeneity.The relative development model further identifies critical factors influencing regional coordination,with a focus on the lagging development of basic infrastructure and public services.The findings demonstrate a positive temporal trend toward improved regional coordination and reduced development gaps,with a spatial pattern characterized by higher coupling degrees in eastern and central regions compared to western areas.Based on these results,this study proposes actionable strategies to enhance coordinated development,emphasizing ecological conservation,the establishment of green production and consumption systems,ecological restoration,and strengthened municipal collaboration.This revised abstract emphasizes the study’s purpose,methods,and key findings more clearly while maintaining a professional and concise tone.Finally,based on the above analysis results,the corresponding coordinated development suggestions of regional economy and ecological environment are given from the aspects of ecological environment protection measures,green production and consumption system construction,ecological environment restoration and municipal coordination. 展开更多

Studying the coupling coordination development of new energy vehicles(NEVs)and the ecological environment in China is helpful in promoting the development of NEVs in the country and is of great significance in promoting high-quality development of new energy in China.This paper constructs an evaluation index system for the development of NEVs and the ecological environment.It uses game theory combining weighting model,particle swarm optimized projection tracking evaluation model,coupling coordination degree model,and machine learning algorithms to calculate and analyze the level of coupling coordination development of NEVs and the ecological environment in China from 2010 to 2021,and identifies the driving factors.The research results show that:(i)From 2010 to 2021,the development index of NEVs in China has steadily increased from 0.085 to 0.634,while the ecological environment level index significantly rose from 0.170 to 0.884,reflecting the continuous development of China in both NEVs and the ecological environment.(ii)From 2010 to 2012,the two systems—new energy vehicle(NEV)development and the ecological environment—were in a period of imbalance and decline.From 2013 to 2016,they underwent a transition period,and from 2017 to 2021,they entered a period of coordinated development showing a trend of benign and continuous improvement.By 2021,they reached a good level of coordination.(iii)Indicators such as the number of patents granted for NEVs,water consumption per unit of GDP,and energy consumption per unit of GDP are the main driving factors affecting the coupling coordination development of NEVs and the ecological environment in China. 展开更多

Rural resilience,a core capability for addressing systemic risks and enabling sustainable development,is increasingly vital to promoting urban-rural integrated development and rural revitalization strategies.However,current research lacks exploration of the collaborative mechanisms between rural economic resilience(RER)and rural social resilience(RSR)in ecologically vulnerable areas.Based on the practical context of rural sustainable development in such regions,this study investigates the interaction between RER and RSR from a resilience coordination perspective.In this paper,a rural resilience evaluation framework for collaborative development of economic and social resilience was established.By employing the coupling coordination degree model,obstacle degree model,and equilibrium entropy model,this paper examines the synergies,constraints,and potential of rural resilience subsystems in Jinchang City,Gansu Province,China,in 2020.The results reveal that:1)RER contributes to RSR by stabilizing the economy,enhancing community adaptability,and driving modernization.In turn,RSR strengthens RER by mitigating instability,building social capital,and fostering confidence—together forming a mutually reinforcing coupling mechanism.2)The rural economic and social resilience level in Jinchang City remains generally low with spatially clustered patterns,while the coupling coordination degree is at an intermediate level overall,with 62.59%of villages exhibiting unbalanced development between rural economic and social resilience.3)RER and RSR demonstrate synergistic degradation in ecologically vulnerable areas,where low-level rural economic and social resilience induce integrated systemic deterioration.4)Considering the unbalanced development of rural economic and social resilience in ecologically fragile areas,differentiated coordination pathways are proposed for three village typologies:RER-lagging villages,RSR-lagging villages,and villages where RER and RSR develop synchronously but lack effective coordination.These findings offer spatial governance strategies and practical guidance for enhancing rural resilience and advancing sustainable development in ecologically vulnerable regions. 展开更多

The Taihang Mountains in North China are an important carbon-water ecosystem service supply area.Understanding the coupling effect and influencing mechanisms of mountain carbon sequestration as well as water conservation is essential for regional eco-logical restoration and sustainable development.In this study,we utilized models such as the coupled coordination degree model,the random forest and Geodetector to analyze the spa-tio-temporal changes as well as driving factors of carbon sequestration-water conservation coupling coordination in the Taihang Mountains.The results show that:(1)From 1990 to 2020,the carbon sequestration and water conservation capacity of the Taihang Mountains exhibited a spatial pattern with higher values in the southeast and central regions,while lower values in the northwest region.(2)The average coupling coordination degree from 1990 to 2020 was O.23,which was overall low,with a fluctuating decreasing-rising-decreasing trend over time.The coupling coordination degree exhibited a pattern that is high in the middle and low in the periphery,with a fluctuating distribution that initially decreases and then increases with the increasing altitude.The overall trend of coupling coordination is degradation,with concen-trated degradation in the northwest mountainous regions.(3)Precipitation and soil texture were identified as the main driving factors influencing coupling coordination,with the interac-tion between precipitation and soil sand content showing the strongest explanatory power,while that among topography,vegetation and human activities had relatively low explanatory power.Therefore,enhanced protection and the continuous monitoring of vegetation and soil environments in the Taihang Mountains are essential,with particular emphasis on ecological restoration in areas experiencing a persistent degradation of carbon-water coupling.This study can provide assistance in monitoring and managing carbon sink and water resources in the mountains,meanwhile mitigating potential adverse impacts on human well-being. 展开更多

Studying the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics and coupling coordination relationship of urban and rural resilience is of substantial theoretical and practical significance to improving the ability of urban and rural areas to resist risk and for promoting their coordinated development.This study establishes a comprehensive evaluation index system of urban and rural resilience that encom-passes industrial,social,and ecological subsystems as well as stability,sensitivity,and adaptability.For each of the prefecture-level city in Northeast China,we evaluated its urban and rural resilience and determined the coupling coordination level between them using data spanning 2010,2015,and 2020.The resilience levels of both urban and rural areas in Northeast China are continuously improving.The high-value area of urban resilience is mainly located in the central cities of Northeast China,and prominent in urban agglomeration areas,while rural resilience is predominantly high in the north and low in the south.The high-value area of the coupling coordination degree is mainly distributed in the arc-shaped zone extending from south to north in the eastern part of Northeast China,with the level of coupling coordination increased overall.Non-parametric testing revealed significant differences in urban industrial stability,urban in-dustrial adaptability,rural industrial stability,rural social adaptability,and rural ecological stability among types of cities differing in their coupling coordination development.Our findings provide a reference for enhancing urban and rural resilience and their coordin-ated development path in Northeast China. 展开更多

Coupling dynamics of vegetation ecology and meteorological drought in karst mountain areas: A case study of Guizhou, China

Vegetation ecological quality(VEQ)is not only influenced by meteorological drought(MD)but also exerts a certain degree of regulatory effect on it.Clarifying the relationship between the two is crucial for ecological conservation efforts.However,the interactions between VEQ and MD and its driving mechanisms in karst mountain regions with high surface heterogeneity remain unclear,and the lack of exploration of this interaction under different subregions hinders further progress in ecological conservation.This study took Guizhou Province,characterized by significant surface heterogeneity and extensive karst formations,as a research case.By dividing the region into different landform regions,we quantified the coupling coordination degree(CCD)between VEQ and MD using the coupling coordination degree model to elucidate their interaction and analyzed its driving forces using the Geodetector model.Results indicated that:(1)From 2001 to 2020,the CCD between VEQ and MD in Guizhou remained at a moderate coordination level,with increasing benign interactions,though significant variations in CCD trends were observed across landform regions.MD is the pivotal subsystem that determines CCD changes.(2)The dominant driving factors of CCD vary by landform,with soil moisture,precipitation,or population density as primary influences.Soil moisture has a stronger effect in karst regions,and its interaction with other factors surpasses the effects of individual factors.(3)To achieve benign development between VEQ and MD.In karst regions,attention should be focused on the impact of soil moisture and human activities on CCD.While non-karst regions have favorable vegetation and hydrothermal conditions,improper development can lead to vegetation degradation,and abnormal hydrothermal conditions,which could trigger a decline in CCD.Therefore,regulating human activities in non-karst regions is also crucial.This work serves as a scientific foundation for formulating ecological preservation strategies in Guizhou and other karst mountain regions. 展开更多

Assessing the interaction of cross-city patient mobility and the coupling relationship between supply and demand of healthcare in China

The uneven distribution of medical resources has led to increasingly frequent patient mobility;however, the interaction between this phenomenon and the healthcare supply-demand relationship remains underexplored. The present study constructed the 2023Cross-City Patient Mobility Network in China using one million patient mobility data records obtained from online healthcare platforms. We applied urban network analysis to uncover mobility patterns and used the coupling coordination degree model to assess healthcare supply-demand relationships before and after patient mobility. Explainable machine learning further revealed the impact of supply-demand coupling on patient mobility. The results indicated the following: Patient mobility followed administrative boundaries, although megacities serve areas beyond provincial borders;The scale of healthcare supply and demand displayed a multi-centric spatial pattern with a general decline from east to west, and these characteristics of demand distribution were further solidified by patient mobility;Cities with low supply-demand coupling and undersupply experienced patient outflows, while cities with high coupling and oversupply attracted them. In turn, patient mobility helped balance healthcare supply and demand, optimising the coupling relationship across cities. Thus, this research not only provides a methodological reference for understanding the interaction between patient mobility and healthcare systems but also offers empirical insights for public health policy. 展开更多

Quantitatively assessing the carrying capacity of water and land resources systems in arid and semi-arid areas is crucial for achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.In this work,taking Yulin City in China as a case study and employing the Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation(CRITIC)method,a modified model of coupling degree was developed to evaluate the car-rying capacity of water and land resources systems endowment and utilization,as well as their coupling coordination degree from 2013 to 2020.Our findings indicate that the water and land resources of Yulin are diminishing due to declines in agriculture,higher industrial water use,and wetland shrinkage.However,reallocating domestic water for ecological sustainability and reducing sloping farmland can mitigate this trend of decline.Temporally,as the coupling coordination between water and land resources system endowment in Yulin continuously improved,the coupling coordination between water and land resources system utilization first decreased and then in-creased with 2016 as the turning point.Spatially,the carrying capacity of water and land resources systems,the coupling coordination degree between water and land resources system endowment,and the coupling coordination degree between water and land resources system utilization in Yulin exhibited the same pattern of being higher in the six northern counties than in the six southern counties.Improving the water resources endowment is vital for the highly efficient use of water and land resources. 展开更多

Coupling Coordination Analysis of Cropland Intensification and Agroecosystem Services:Evidence from Loess Plateau in Shaanxi Province,China

One of the greatest challenges in the agroecosystem is to improve cropland intensification while preserving agroecosystem services.While many studies have investigated the effect of cropland intensification on agroecosystem service,the interactive coupling and coordination among these factors remain largely unexplored.In view of this,this study performed a case study of the Loess Plateau in Shaanxi Province,China and constructed comprehensive evaluation models to quantify the cropland intensification and agroecosystem service in this area.Balance analysis and the coupling coordination degree model were used to evaluate the interactive relationship between cropland intensification and agroecosystem service,and statistical analysis and spatial autocorrelation were used to analyze the spatial characteristics and potential mechanism of the coupling coordination.Results show that both the cropland intensification and agroecosystem service in the study area were relatively low yet gradually increased from 2000 to 2020.Agroecosystem service lag was identified as the dominant unbalanced development type.Improving the supply capacity of agroecosystem services plays a key role in the balanced development of cropland in the Loess Plateau.The coupling coordination degree between cropland intensification and agroecosystem service ranges from basic coordination to serious incoordination.Therefore,cropland intensification practices in the area should be optimized to enhance this coordination degree.An upward trend was also observed in the coupling coordination degree from2000 to 2020.The withdrawal of marginal cropland in the Grain for Green program is one of the most important reasons for this trend,especially for the northern region.Around 83.6%of the high-high clusters are concentrated in the southern region of the Loess Plateau,whereas 70.5%of the low-low clusters are distributed in the northern region.These clustering characteristics are mainly attributed to the environmental suitability of these areas for agriculture and their degree of economic development. 展开更多

Coordinative development across various systems,particularly the economic,social,cultural,and human resources subsystems,is a key aspect of urban sustainability and has a direct impact on the quality of urbanization.The Hangzhou Metropolitan Circle,comprising Hangzhou City,Huzhou City,Jiaxing City,and Shaoxing City,was the first metropolitan circle approved by the National Development and Reform Commission(NDRC)as a demonstration of economic transformation in China.To evaluate the coupling coordination degree of the four cities and analyze the coordinative development in three systems(including digital economy,regional innovation,and talent employment),we collected panel data during 2015–2022 from these four cities.The development level of the three systems was evaluated by the standard deviation method and comprehensive development index.The results are as follows:(1)the level of coupling coordinated development of the three systems in the Hangzhou Metropolitan Circle was relatively low;(2)the coupling coordination degree of the four cities in the Hangzhou Metropolitan Circle showed significant regional differences,among which Hangzhou City was in the leading position,and Huzhou,Jiaxing,and Shaoxing cities made steady but slow progress in the coupling development of the three systems;and(3)the development of digital economy and talent employment needs to be strengthened.This study contributes to the coordinative development of Hangzhou Metropolitan Circle by innovatively focusing on the coupling coordination relationship among digital economy,regional innovation,and talent employment,which also meets the industrial layout of Hangzhou Metropolitan Circle.In this way,the optimal allocation and sustainable development of digital economy,regional innovation,and talent employment in the Hangzhou Metropolitan Circle can be achieved. 展开更多

The joint study of agriculture and rural areas is of great significance for safeguarding agricultural development,revitalizing rural areas,and enhancing farmers'well-being.This paper aims to assess the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of the coupling and coordination degree of agricultural resilience and rural land use efficiency and their dynamic transfer law and driving mechanisms,based on panel data of 31 provinces(municipalities and autonomous regions)in China from 2010 to 2020.The results showed:(1)Good coupling and coordination of agricultural resilience and rural land use efficiency,with reduced temporal differentiation degrees between regions;(2)Significant spatial autocorrelation between the overall coupling and coordination degrees of agricultural resilience and rural land use efficiency,forming cold spot and hot spot spatial patterns in the western and eastern parts,respectively,with a central transition area;(3)A spillover effect of the dynamic transfer process,with a manifested specific law as"club convergence","Matthew effect",and progressive development characteristics;(4)The key roles of the natural,social,economic,and policy indicators in the coupling and coordination development process of agricultural resilience and rural land use efficiency.However,the selected indicators showed substantial spatial differences in their influences on the coupling and coordination process between provinces. 展开更多

Taking the pilgrimage,tourism and cultural island of Meizhou Island as an example,the evaluation index system of the coupling and coordinated development of“Mazu culture,socio-economy,eco-environment”(MSE)compound system was constructed.The index weights were determined by AHP-entropy method,and the coupling degree,coordinated degree,comprehensive evaluation index and grey correlation degree of MSE system of Mazu Island from 2012 to 2022 were measure.The results showed that:(1)the comprehensive evaluation indexes of the three subsystems was on the rise in general,but the evaluation index of the ecological subsystems increased relatively slowly.(2)The coupling degree was only in the running-in stage in 2012,and the other years were in the coordinated coupling stage.(3)The coupling coordination degree increased from 0.35 in 2012 to 0.82 in 2022,the coupling coordination level was changed from mild imbalance to good coordination.(4)Through the comparison of grey correlation degree,the 24 indexes in the evaluation index system had great influence on the coupling coordination degree of MSE system.The coupling coordination degree was closely related to the development of socio-economy and the spread of Mazu culture.With the rapid development of tourism brought about by the spread of Mazu culture,the pressure on the ecological environment will be increasing.Compared with the rapid growth of tourism and economy,it is equally important to strengthen environmental protection and pay attention to the quality of ecological environment development. 展开更多

Promoting the coupling coordination development of port and its hinterland city environments is an important way to improve urban economic competitiveness.Based on relevant data of 13 coastal port cities in eastern China from 2000 to 2018,this study explores the coupling coordination development of port and city environments and its impact on urban economic competitiveness by constructing the coupling coordination degree model and the panel threshold model.The research results show that:(1)In terms of the coupling coordination development of port and city environments,most coastal ports and their hinterland cities are in a state of moderate or serious disorder.Overall,the degree of coupling coordination of port and city environments needs to be further improved;(2)The coupling coordination degree of port and city environments has a significant impact on urban economic competitiveness,and this effect gradually increases with the development of the ports and the urban economy.Among the variables that impact the urban economic competitiveness,fixed assets investment and foreign trade are significant factors that can enhance urban economic competitiveness.(3)At present,there is a“U-shaped”relationship between the coupling coordination degree of port-city environments and the urban economic competitiveness.This relationship lies on the right side of the inflection point of the“U-shaped”curve.Therefore,following the concept of assigning priority to ecological development,expanding fixed assets investment and actively developing foreign trade can further enhance the urban economic competitiveness. 展开更多

Coupling and Long-term Change Characteristics of Forest Carbon Sink and Forestry Economic Development in China

[Objectives]To analyze the changes in of forest carbon sink and forestry economic development,provide reference for relevant management decisions,ecological governance and resource and environment management,and promote the development of green low-carbon economy in China.[Methods]Based on the data of six forest resource inventories from 1989 to 2018 and related studies,the comprehensive evaluation model of forest carbon sink and forestry economic development,the coupling degree model of forest carbon sink and forestry economic development,and the coupling coordination degree model of forest carbon sink and forestry economic development were adopted.The coupling degree of forest carbon sink and forestry economic development from 1992 to 2018 was analyzed.Stepwise regression and ARIMA model were used to analyze the influencing factors and lagging characteristics of forest carbon sink.The coupling degree between forest carbon sink and forestry economic development in China from 2019 to 2030 was predicted by autoregression and ADF test.The coupling between forest carbon sink and forestry economic development in China and its long-term change characteristics were also discussed in this study.[Results](i)The investment of ecological construction and protection,the actual investment of forestry key ecological projects,GDP and the import of forest products had a significant impact on forest resources carbon stock.The total output value of forestry industry,the actually completed investment of forestry key ecological projects and the export volume of forest products had a significant impact on the forest carbon sink,and the actually completed investment of forestry key ecological projects has the greatest impact on the two.(ii)The impact of actually completed investment of forestry key ecological projects had a lag of 2 years on the forest resources carbon stock and a lag of 1 year on the forest carbon sink.When investing in forest carbon sink,it is necessary to make a good plan in advance,and do a good job in forest resources management and time optimization.(iii)From 1992 to 2018,the coupling degree of forest resources carbon stock,forest carbon sink and long-term development of forestry economy in China was gradually increasing.Although there were some fluctuations in the middle time,the coupling degree of forest resources carbon stock and the long-term development of forestry economy increased by 9.24%annually,and the degree of coupling coordination increased from"serious imbalance"in 1992 to"high-quality coordination"in 2018.From 1993 to 2018,the coupling degree of forest carbon sink and long-term development of forestry economy increased by 9.63%annually,slightly faster than the coupling coordination degree of forest resources carbon stock and long-term development of forestry economy.The coordination level also rose from level 2 in 1993 to level 10 in 2018.(iv)The prediction shows that the coupling coordination degree of forest resources carbon stock,forest carbon sink and the long-term development of forestry economy would increase from 2019 to 2030.The coupling coordination degree(D)values of both were close to 1,the coordination level was also 10 for a long time,and the degree of coupling coordination was also maintained at the"high-quality coordination"level for a long time.[Conclusions]Forest has multiple benefits of society,economy and ecology,and forest carbon sink is only a benefit output.The long-term coupling analysis of forest carbon sink and forestry economic development is a key point to multiple benefit analysis.The analysis shows that the spillover effect and co-evolution effect of forest carbon sink in China are significant.From 1992 to 2018,the coupling coordination degree of forest carbon sink and forestry economic development was gradually rising.The prediction analysis also indicate that the coupling coordination degree between the forest carbon sink and the long-term development of forestry economy will remain at the level of"high-quality coordination"for a long time from 2019 to 2030.Therefore,improving the level of forest management and maintaining the current trend of increasing forest resources are the key to achieving the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality in China. 展开更多

The Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)are crucial in tackling the sustainability challenges and emerging issues faced by humanity,with government attention being a significant factor in promoting their successful achievement.However,there is limited quantitative research systematically examining the impacts of government attention on SDGs progress.This study employs text analysis and a panel regression model to analyze the impacts of government attention intensity,text similarity,and tone on the achievement of SDGs,utilizing data extracted from China’s Government Work Reports spanning the decade from 2010 to 2020.The findings reveal that the Chinese government attention to the SDGs has generally increased over time.The heightened focus has notably bolstered the achievement of the SDGs,with the most significant impact observed post-2015.Government attention intensity was identified as the most impactful factor.Moreover,government attention intensity,text similarity,and tone have positively influenced the coupling coordination relationship between 17 SDGs,as measured by the coupling coordination degree,leading to a more harmonious and balanced achievement of socioeconomic and environmental goals in China.Financial investment served as a moderating factor,enhancing the positive impacts of attention intensity,text similarity and tone on the promotion of SDGs attainment.The effects of government attention on SDGs progress were notably positive in the eastern region,exhibiting greater significance in areas with stronger governance capacity compared to those with weaker governance capacity.This study provides insightful information for enhancing the modernization and efficiency of China’s national governance system,promoting SDGs at local and global scales,and fostering sustainable transformation. 展开更多

In this paper,the Taixin Integrated Economic Zone in Shanxi Province is taken as the research object,and the coupling coordination degree model and bivariate spatial autocorrelation model are used to judge the coupling coordination and spatial-temporal correlation between urbanization and ecosystem service,and the hotspot analysis is used to judge the spatial-temporal trend of urbanization and ecosystem service.The results show that:(1)The urbanization level from 2000 to 2020 continued to rise,the areas with relatively high urbanization were concentrated in the central part of the study area,and the relatively high terrain areas on both sides of the study area,the urbanization was relatively slow,and the hotspot areas with highly significant and significant urbanization level from 2000 to 2020 were distributed as bands in the central part of the study area and the area was rising,and there was no Cold spot area distribution;between 2000 and 2020,the ecosystem service value in the study area increased by 2.6800×10^(8) yuan.Over these two decades,it exhibited a development trend that first rose and then declined.The woodland and grassland agglomeration areas were located on the two sides of the study area,forming highly significant and significant hotspots.Conversely,the central and northeastern parts of the study area were characterized by concentrated man-made land surfaces and croplands,resulting in the formation of highly significant and significant cold spots.(2)In the central part of the study area where man-made land surface and cultivated land are concentrated,the coupling coordination between urbanization and ecosystem service is in the intermediate dislocation and mild dislocation interval;the woodland and grassland concentration areas on both sides of the study area are ecologically fragile,and the coupling coordination between the two is in the level of less than intermediate dislocation.(3)From 2000 to 2020,urbanization and the value of ecosystem services were both negatively correlated,although the correlation coefficient was low.In the central and northeastern parts,urbanization and ecosystem service exhibited patterns of high-low,high-high,and low-low clustering.Conversely,on both sides of the study area,most of the clusters showed a low-high pattern. 展开更多

Exploring optimal operational schemes for synergistic development is crucial for sustainable management in river basins.This study introduces a multi-objective synergistic optimization framework aimed at analyzing the interplay among flood control,ecological integrity,and desilting objectives under varying watersediment conditions.The framework encompasses multi-objective reservoir optimal operation,scheme decision,and trade-off analysis among competing objectives.To address the optimization model,an elite mutation-based multiobjective particle swarm optimization(MOPSO)algorithm that integrates genetic algorithms(GA)is developed.The coupling coordination degree is employed for optimal scheme decision-making,allowing for the adjustment of weight ratios to investigate the trade-offs between objectives.This research focuses on the Sanmenxia and Xiaolangdi cascade reservoirs in the Yellow River,utilizing three representative hydrological years:1967,1969,and 2002.The findings reveal that:(1)the proposed model effectively generates Pareto fronts for multi-objective operations,facilitating the recommendation of optimal schemes based on coupling coordination degrees;(2)as water-sediment conditions shift from flooding to drought,competition intensifies between the flood control and desilting objectives.While flood control and ecological objectives compete during flood and dry years,they demonstrate synergies in normal years(r=0.22);conversely,ecological and desilting objectives are consistently competitive across all three typical years,with the strongest competition observed in the normal year(r=-0.95);(3)the advantages conferred to ecological objectives increase as water-sediment conditions shift from flooding to drought.However,the promotion of the desilting objective requires more complex trade-offs.This study provides a model and methodological approach for the multi-objective optimization of flood control,sediment management,and ecological considerations in reservoir clusters.Moreover,the methodologies presented herein can be extended to other water resource systems for multi-objective optimization and decision-making. 展开更多

The exploration of the coupling and coordination between urban innovation capability(IC)and industrial transformation(IF)serves as a novel perspective for interpreting the increasingly severe phenomenon of population shrinkage during the industrialization process.This study investigated the evolutionary characteristics of IC and IF in shrinking and growing cities in Northeast China from 2010 to 2020.It uses entropy weighted model,coupling coordination degree,the Dagum Gini coefficient,and geographic detectors to analyze the coordinated development of IC and IF in the context of population shrinkage.The study analyzed the spatiotemporal patterns and driving mechanisms for their coordinated development.The results show that:1)both urban IC and IF exhibited an overall positive trend during the study period.Shrinking cities depend more on IF to address the challenges of population shrinkage,while growing cities mainly rely on innovation-driven development.2)The coupling gap between IC and IF in shrinking and growing cities has widened over time,with the coordination level of shrinking cities steadily decreasing.Cities with serious disorder are concentrated in northern Heilongjiang Province,while most cities in Jilin Province experience moderate disorder.Liaoning Province,however,shows generally good coupling coordination.3)Human capital is the key factor driving coupling coordination in both types of cities.Shrinking cities rely on economic and financial development,with the‘repair-type’logic that emphasizes short-term economic growth and resource compensation.In contrast,the coupling of growing cities relies on basic support capabilities,with the‘optimization-type’logic focused on enhancing endogenous resilience and systemic coordination.Exploring the coordination between urban innovation capabilities and industrial transformation can provide a new perspective for research on population shrinkage,which holds certain theoretical and practical significance for implementing the new round of revitalization strategy in Northeast China. 展开更多
