To make the plume modelling scheme more reasonable, we modified the original modelling scheme and reconstructed a plume water body model based on the variation of its radius as bubbles rise in seawater. The plume seismic records of shot gathers were obtained by forward simulation. The seismic records of single shot show obvious characteristics of a scattering wave field and the periodic characteristics of the model. Seismic records of shot gathers were processed using prestack depth migration. The boundary of its imaging section has a good convergence effect. The migration sections can be imaged distinctly with higher accuracy. The aforementioned studies once again laid a foundation for the further study of the seismic responses produced by plumes. They also gradually probed a more suitable seismic data processing method for plumes and provided a theoretical guidance for the identification of plumes.展开更多

Due to the complexity of the porthole die structure and the material flow, it is very difficult to get ideal profile products with the firstly designed die structure. Finite volume numerical simulation was used to analyze the extrusion process of a hollow profile with porthole die and the problem of non-uniform material flow was found. Optimization was made to the originally designed die to solve the problem. Lower load, reasonable seaming location and even extruded forepart with uniform material flow in the optimized die extrusion were obtained. Guidelines to porthole die design were given and it is also concluded that finite volume method with Eulerian description avoids mesh regeneration and is suitable to numerical simulation of severe deformation processes, such as profile extrusion.展开更多

Initially, the simulation has been implemented by using a conventional FE model. During the deforming process, mesh quality is checked at every incremental step. Distorted elements are automatically converted to EFG nodes, whereas, the less distorted elements are reserved. A new algorithm to generate EFG nodes and interface elements is presented. This method is capable of dealing with large deformation and has higher computational efficiency than using an EFG method wholly. Numerical results demonstrate that the adaptive EFG-FE coupling method has reasonable accuracy and is effective for local bulk metal forming such as extrusion processes.展开更多

Traditional studies of the external environment of human settlements, however, frequently overlook the combined impacts of wind and snow environments. Furthermore, in urban meteorological studies, it is impossible to accurately assess the wind and snow environment in specific areas or locations. In this study, a refined Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) multiphase flow numerical method was used to simulate a planning space's wind and snow environment. The study classified the Snowstorm Weather Grade(SWG) by incorporating the Snowstorm Weather Index(SWI) to generate calculation results of the wind environment and snow environment. In particular, 150 measurement points in the planning space were chosen for analysis and evaluation of their wind and snow environments. The results demonstrated that the SWI index can effectively correlate to the wind and snow environment calculation results. In addition, the graph of SWI showed that 55% of the measurement points had a moderate wind and snow grade SWI, which exceeds the average grade for the entire region. The practical application shows that the wind and snow environment assessment indexes and technical methods developed in this paper can be successfully applied to wind and snow environment studies in other cold cities.展开更多

In order to reveal the optimum hot extrusion parameters in CHE process, the e ects of the extrusion parameters on the microstructural evolution are investigated systematically. The metadynamic recrystallization(MDRX) kinetic models and grain size models of as-cast P91 steel are established for the first time according to the hot compression tests performed on the Gleeble-3500 thermal-simulation machine. Then a thermal-mechanical and micro-macro coupled hot extrusion finite element(FE) model is established and further developed in DEFORM software. The results indicated that the grain size of the extruded pipe increases with the increasing of initial temperature and extrusion speed, decreases when extrusion ratio increases. Moreover, the grain size is more sensitive to the initial temperature and the extrusion ratio. The optimum hot extrusion parameters are including that, the initial extrusion temperature of 1250 °C, the extrusion ratio of 9 and the extrusion speed of 50 mm/s. Furthermore, in order to verify the simulation precisions, hot extrusion experiment verification on the heavy caliber thick-wall pipe is carried out on the 500 MN vertical hot extrusion equipment. The load–displacement curve of the extrusion process and the grain sizes of the middle part extruded pipe are in good accuracy with the simulation results, which confirms that the hot extrusion FE models of as-cast P91 steel could estimate the hot extrusion behaviors. The proposed hot extrusion FE model can be used to guide the industrial production research of CHE process.展开更多

Three-dimensional isothermal flow in the twin-screw extruder is simulated by using the finite element package POLYFLOW. Profiles of velocity contours in the screw channel and shear rate distributions in the intermeshing region are presented for different slip coefficients. Curves of axial pressure difference, average shear rate and dispersive mixing index vs. the slip coefficient are plotted and discussed. Comparisons are also made between the wall slip conditions and the non-slip condition. The simulation results indicate that, as the level of wall slip decreases, the axial pressure difference rises, the shear effect is intensified and the axial mixing is also enhanced. All these flow characteristics seem to level off with the increase of the slip coefficient. However, because of the inherent limitation of the Navier slip law, use of an overestimated slip coefficient would predict an over-sticky state between the screw surface and the polymer melt.展开更多

The model can be used to simulate and explain effects of the flow and temperature distribution on performance of a converter. The evolutions of distribution of the temperature and concentration in the monolith during the cold-start period and the effects of flow distribution in the monolith on the cold-start performance are simulated in terms of the integrated model. The investigation indicates that the axial and radial gradients of temperature of the solid become steeper as the inlet gas temperature ramp increases; this furthermore results in the movement of reaction region in the monolith, and the flow distribution in the monolith affects the radial distribution of temperature of the solid;the radial gradients of temperature of the solid become greater as the flow uniformity index decreases, whereas the light-off time doesn't always increase as the flow uniformity index decreases. The analyses on the distribution of temperature and concentration in the monolith show that the catalytic reaction zone concentrates in central area near the front face. The predicted curves of the velocity distribution have a good agreement with the experimental data.展开更多

Effects of initial species distribution, rotating speed and flow rate on a competitive-parallel reaction were investigated and the relationship between mixing and reactions was discussed from the view of chemical reaction engineering. The simulation results show the studied operational parameters, which determine residence time distribution, earliness of mixing and segregation degree of reactive-mixing flows, affect the local species concentration and reaction time and hence have significant influences on the reaction extent. Orthogonal test was adopted to clarify the significance of operational parameters. The analysis shows that initial species distribution and flow rate are the most important factors in the control of reaction extent, and effect of rotating speed is conditional depending on the micro-mixing status of the fluid.展开更多

There are many heat damage problems with the increase of mining depth. The technology of using doublet wells, together with Heat Exchange Machine Systems (HEMSs), to store cold energy is a key to solve the heat damage problems in deep mines. Based on the geological conditions, thermodynamic and hydraulic parameters of Jiahe Mine, the isotherms in the period of cold energy storage and refrigeration and the volumes of cold water within different temperature ranges of the cold energy storage well were numerically analyzed. The results show that 1) with the same pumped and injected water volumes, the lower the temperature of injected water is, the larger the volume.of cold water in the cold energy storage well is. With the larger volume, the effect of cold energy storage is better. 2) the larger the volumes of pumped and reinjected water frigeration is better. And 3) without disturbance, the volume and temperature of cold water in the cold energy storage well can keep unchanged or have only a little change for a long time. Therefore the technology of doublet wells for cold energy storage is feasible and the cold energy storage aquifers can meet the requirement of the technology.展开更多

文摘In this study, the distribution behavior of the particle flow field in cold gas dynamic spraying (CGDS) was simulated through the Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. Traces of the particles with different diameters in the gas flow field were analyzed, and effects of fiat and sphere substrates on the particle tracks were also compared .Simulation results indicate that different escaping directions of particles flow with the two substrates. These investigations. gave instructions on how to design the powder recovery and dusting machines in a CGDS system.

文摘To control the multicomponent reactions in extrusion, reactive-mixing flow in a co-rotating twin screw extruder was numerically studied in the present paper. The analysis shows that initial species distribution and flow rate are the most important factors in the control of reaction extent, and effect of rotating speed is conditional depending on the micro-mixing status of the fluid.

文摘Offshore wind energy resources are operational in cold regions, while offshore wind turbines will face the threat of icing. Therefore,it is necessary to study icing of offshore wind turbines under different icing conditions. In this study, icing sensitivity of offshore wind turbine blades are performed using a combination of FLUENT and FENSAP-ICE software, and the effects of liquid water content(LWC),medium volume diameter(MVD),wind speed and air temperature on blade icing shape are analyzed by two types of ice, namely rime ice and glaze ice.The results show that the increase of LWC and MVD will increase the amount of ice that forms on the blade surface for either glaze ice or rime ice,and an increase of MVD will expand the adhesion surface between ice and blade. Before reaching the rated wind speed of 11.4 m/s,it does not directly affect the icing shape. However, after reaching the rated wind speed, the attack angle of the incoming flow decreases obviously, and the amount of ice increases markedly. When the ambient air temperature meets the icing conditions of glaze ice(i.e.,−5℃ to 0℃),the lower the temperature, the more glaze ice freezes, whereas air temperature has no impact on the icing of rime ice.Compared with onshore wind turbines, offshore wind turbines might face extreme meteorological conditions, and the wind speed has no impact on the amount of ice that forms on the blade surface for most wind speeds.

文摘Deep mining is an inevitable tendency in the development of coal industry. Therefore the technology of doublet wells for cold energy storage is feasible and the cold energy storage aquifers can meet the requirement of the technology.
