The pathway reactions have been proposed by 1H-NMR, IR and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy. The optimal reaction time was set by IR spectroscopy following aldehyde? peak modification. 1 and 2 were obtained as both hydrochlorides and as free amines and 3 only as free imine. Increased circulating branched-chain amino acids(BCAAs)have been involved in the pathogenesis of obesity and insulin resistance.However,evidence relating berberine(BBR),gut microbiota,BCAAs,and insulin resis⁃tance is ...Increased circulating branched-chain amino acids(BCAAs)have been involved in the pathogenesis of obesity and insulin resistance.However,evidence relating berberine(BBR),gut microbiota,BCAAs,and insulin resis⁃tance is limited.Here,we showed that BBR could effectively rectify steatohepatitis and glucose intolerance in high-fat diet(HFD)-fed mice.BBR reorganized gut microbiota populations under both the normal chow diet(NCD)and HFD.Particu⁃larly,BBR noticeably decreased the relative abundance of BCAA-producing bacteria,including order Clostridiales;fami⁃lies Streptococcaceae,Clostridiaceae,and Prevotellaceae;and genera Streptococcus and Prevotella.Compared with the HFD group,predictive metagenomics indicated a reduction in the proportion of gut microbiota genes involved in BCAA biosynthesis but the enrichment genes for BCAA degradation and transport by BBR treatment.Accordingly,the elevated serum BCAAs of HFD group were significantly decreased by BBR.Furthermore,the Western blotting results implied that BBR could promote the BCAA catabolism in the liver and epididymal white adipose tissues of HFD-fed mice by acti⁃vation of the multienzyme branched-chain α-ketoacid dehydrogenase complex,whereas by inhibition of the phosphoryla⁃tion state of BCKDHA(E1α subunit)and branched-chain α-ketoacid dehydrogenase kinase.The ex vivo assay further confirmed that BBR could increase BCAA catabolism in both AML12 hepatocytes and 3T3-L1 adipocytes.Finally,data from healthy subjects and diabetics confirmed that BBR could improve glycemic control and modulate circulating BCAAs.Besides,functional microbiomics integrated high-throughput microbial genomics,metabolomics and molecular biotechnology has also been successfully applied to reveal the anti-obesity mechanism of hydroxysafflor yellow A.展开更多
Mechanochromic polyolefins represent a novel class of functionalized polyolefins,which still remains significant challenges.Pd(II)-catalyzed coordination-insertion copolymerization is a feasible method for achieving t...Mechanochromic polyolefins represent a novel class of functionalized polyolefins,which still remains significant challenges.Pd(II)-catalyzed coordination-insertion copolymerization is a feasible method for achieving this kind of polymers,yet with linear microstructures.Ringopening metathesis polymerization(ROMP)offers another promising avenue for affording functionalized polyolefins.This method exhibits high polar group tolerance and the ability to precisely regulate polymer branches.In this study,we report the method for producing mechanochromic branched polyethylenes via ROMP.By employing the terpolymerization of a well-designed monomer containing the mechanochromic group,NB-ABF,with cyclooctene(COE)and long-chain 5-hexylcyclooctene(COE-C6),following by hydrogenation process,we synthesized a range of functionalized branched polyethylenes characterized by varied branching density and polar monomer incorporation.These polymers bear a structural resemblance to functionalized ethylene-octene copolymers.After crosslinking,mechanochromophores are generated,and mechanochromism is achieved in uniaxial tensile testing.A comprehensive assessment reveals that both the incorporation of polar monomers and variations in branching density significantly influence their mechanical properties.Notably,upon stretching,these materials display pronounced visible color change,confirming the successful development of mechanochromic branched polyethylenes.展开更多

This paper presents a new algorithm which embeds a penalty function method into a branch and bound algorithm to deal with a weak linear bilevel programming problem. Background The effects of trimetazidine on patients with dilated cardiomyopathy(DCM) and left bundle branch block(LBBB) are not clear. Methods Sixty consecutive patients with DCM, LBBB and heart dysfunction(35% ...Background The effects of trimetazidine on patients with dilated cardiomyopathy(DCM) and left bundle branch block(LBBB) are not clear. Methods Sixty consecutive patients with DCM, LBBB and heart dysfunction(35% ≤ LVEF ≤ 45%) were randomly allocated to heart failure therapy plus trimetazidine group(20 mg three times a day; 30 patients) or heart failure therapy alone group(30 patients). During follow-up of 6months, QRS morphology, plasma NT-proBNP, 6-minute walk test(6MWT) and echocardiographic indexes were measured. Results At the 6th month, a significant functional improvement was noted in patients receiving trimetazidine added to heart failure treatment. In patients from the trimetazidine group, an increase of left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) was noted(from 38 ± 5.5% to 47 ± 7.1%, P = 0.020). The increase of LVEF in the trimetazidine group was associated with a more significant reduction of the left ventricular endsystolic diameter(LVESD) compared with the control group at 6-month follow-up. The NT-pro BNP levels decreased significantly in the trimetazidine group(3.11 ± 0.47 at baseline and 2.77 ± 0.45 at 6-month followup, P 〈 0.01) and the 6MWT increased significantly in the trimetazidine group(325 ± 44 m at baseline and419 ± 56 m at 6-month follow-up, P 〈 0.01). The differences in NT-pro BNP levels(2.77 ± 0.45 vs 2.96 ±0.46, P = 0.036) and 6MWT(419 ± 56 m vs 366 ± 54 m, P = 0.032) between the two groups were significant at 6-month follow-up. Conclusions Trimetazidine can improve LV function caused by DCM and LBBB. The positive effects of trimetazidine on LV function are especially evident in patients with optimization of drug therapy for heart failure, which strongly suggests an additive effect of these therapy modalities.展开更多

Discharge branching is a general phenomenon in atmospheric-pressure air,dense gases,and two-phase mixtures(TPMs).In this work,an ultraviolet imaging device is utilized to investigate the branching of positive pulsed d...Discharge branching is a general phenomenon in atmospheric-pressure air,dense gases,and two-phase mixtures(TPMs).In this work,an ultraviolet imaging device is utilized to investigate the branching of positive pulsed discharges in TPMs.Comparison among the captured images indicates that the branching is caused by the voltages and the macropartilces in the discharge channels combining together.The interaction of macroparticles with ions,electrons or photons is one reason for the branching behavior of pulsed discharges.The generation of electrons at the discharge front closely relates to the work function of dielectric macroparticles,which is a key parameter influencing the electron-emission ability of macroparticle surfaces.The electric field alteration under various applied voltage in TPMs,which is calculated by a two-dimension finite element method,is the other reason for the guiding effect of macroparticles on the streamers compared with in the air.展开更多
