A binary complete decision table with many-valued decisions is a table with n attributes and 2^(n) pairwise distinct rows filled with numbers from the set{0,1}.Each row of this table is labeled with a nonempty finite set of decisions.For a given row of the table,the task is to find a decision from the set of decisions attached to the row.Such tables are generalizations of Boolean functions.They can also be viewed as representations of various problems related to systems of decision rules.In this paper,we consider three types of classes of binary complete decision tables with many-valued decisions,closed with respect to removal of columns and changing of decisions.For tables from these classes,we study the relationships between the minimum weighted depth of deterministic,nondeterministic,and(for one type of classes)strongly nondeterministic decision trees and the total weight of attributes attached to columns.Note that nondeterministic decision trees and strongly nondeterministic decision trees for decision tables can be interpreted as a way of representing the two types of systems of decision rules for these tables. 展开更多

A radio frequency identification (RFID) reader will fail to identify tags if a collision occurs. This paper proposes a bi-slotted binary tree algorithm (BSBTA) with stack for RFID tag anti-collision to improve the performance of binary tree algorithm (BTA). In BSBTA, the reader detects collisions by Manchester code and stores colliding prefixes in a stack. The query is composed of a two-bit prefix and an index value. Following every reader query, there are two timeslots for tags whose pointers and identities (IDs) match the query to respond, one for the tag whose next bit is 0 and the other for the tag with 1 as its next bit. Performance analysis and evaluation are also given. The time complexity and the communication complexity of BTA and BSBTA are derived. The simulation results compare the performance of BSBTA with several related anti-collision algorithms. It is shown that BSBTA outperforms BTA in terms of the average number of responded bits and timeslots for one tag identification. 展开更多

The double neutron star PSR J1846-0513 is discovered by the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST)in Commensal Radio Astronomy FAST Survey.The pulsar is revealed to be harbored in an eccentric orbit with e=0.208 and an orbital period of 0.613 day.The total mass of the system is constrained to b2.6287(35)M_(⊙),with a mass upper limit of 1.3455 M_(⊙)for the pulsar and a mass lower limit of 1.2845 M_(⊙)for th companion star.To reproduce its evolution history,we perform a 1D model for the formation of PSR J1846-0513whose progenitor is assumed to be neutron star—helium(He)star system via MESA code.Since the larg eccentricity is widely believed to originate from an asymmetric supernova explosion,we also investigate th dynamical effects of the supernova explosion.Our simulated results show that the progenitor of PSR J1846-0513could be a binary system consisting of a He star of 3.3-4.0 M_(⊙)and a neutron star in a circular orbit with an initia period of~0.5 day. 展开更多

Existing temporal segmentation methods suffer from the problems of high computational complexity and complicated steps. To address this issue, we present a method that combines the binary tree and spatio-temporal tunnel(STT) for temporal segmentation of rough videos. First, we compute initial cumulative spatio-temporal flow to determine flow overflow of sub-video which is divided from a rough video. Second, the decision tree is generated by combining binary tree and balance factor to dynamically adjust the sampling line of the STT. Finally, pixels on the sampling line are extracted to generate an adaptive STT for temporal proposals. Experimental results show that the computational complexity of the proposed method is significantly better than that of the comparison methods while ensuring accuracy. 展开更多

In this paper,CCD photometric light curves for the short-period eclipsing binary 1 SWASP J140533.33+114639.1(hereafter J1405) in the BV R bands are presented and analyzed using the 2013 version of the Wilson-Devinney(W-D) code. It is discovered that J1405 is a W-subtype shallow contact binary with a contact degree of f = 7.9±0.5% and a mass ratio of q = 1.55±0.02. In order to explain the asymmetric light curves of the system,a cool starspot on the more massive component is employed. This shallow contact eclipsing binary may have been formed from a short-period detached system through orbital shrinkage due to angular momentum loss. Based on the(O-C) method,the variation of orbital period is studied using all the available times of minimum light. The(O-C) diagram reveals that the period is increasing continuously at a rate of d P/dt = +2.09×10^-7 d yr^-1,which can be explained by mass transfer from the less massive component to the more massive one. 展开更多

An Assessment of Snow Cover Duration Variability Among Three Basins of Songhua River in Northeast China Using Binary Decision Tree 被引量:1

The dynamics of snow cover differs greatly from basin to basin in the Songhua River of Northeast China, which is attributable to the differences in the topographic shift as well as changes in the vegetation and climate since the hydrological year(HY) 2003. Daily and flexible multi-day combinations from the HY 2003 to 2014 were produced using Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) from Terra and Aqua remote sensing satellites for the snow cover products in the three basins including the Nenjiang River Basin(NJ), Downstream Songhua River Basin(SD) and Upstream Songhua River Basin(SU). Snow cover duration(SCD) was derived from flexible multiday combination each year. The results showed that SCD was significantly associated with elevation, and higher SCD values were found out in the mountainous areas. Further, the average SCDs of NJ, SU and SD basins were 69.43, 98.14 and 88.84 d with an annual growth of 1.36, 2.04 and 2.71 d, respectively. Binary decision tree was used to analyze the nonlinear relationships between SCD and six impact factors, which were successfully applied to simulate the spatial distribution of depth and water equivalent of snow. The impact factors included three topographic factors(elevation, aspect and slope), two climatic factors(precipitation and air temperature) and one vegetation index(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index, NDVI). By treating yearly SCD values as dependent variables and six climatic factors as independent variables, six binary decision trees were built through the combination classification and regression tree(CART) with and without the consideration of climate effect. The results from the model show that elevation, precipitation and air temperature are the three most influential factors, among which air temperature is the most important and ranks first in two of the three studied basins. It is suggested that SCD in the mountainous areas might be more sensitive to climate warming, since precipitation and air temperature are the major factors controlling the persistence of snow cover in the mountainous areas. 展开更多

Using first-principle calculations, we investigate the mechanical, structural, and electronic properties and formation energy of 25 kinds of Ⅲ–V binary monolayers in detail. A relative radius of the binary compound according to the atomic number in the periodic table is defined, and based on the definition, the 25 kinds of Ⅲ–V binary compounds are exactly located at a symmetric position in a symmetric matrix. The mechanical properties and band gaps are found to be very dependent on relative radius, while the effective mass of holes and electrons are found to be less dependent. A linear function between Young’s modulus and formation energy is fitted with a linear relation in this paper. The change regularity of physical properties of B–V(V = P, As, Sb, Bi) and Ⅲ–N(Ⅲ = Al, Ga, In, Tl) are found to be very different from those of other Ⅲ–V binary compounds. 展开更多

针对机载电静液作动器(Electro-Hydrostatic Actuator,EHA)的典型故障,详细分析了故障原理并在MATLAB/Simulink中搭建了仿真模型。为了高效准确识别故障类型,提出一种用遗传算法(Genetic Algorithm,GA)和粒子群算法(Particle Swarm Opti... 针对机载电静液作动器(Electro-Hydrostatic Actuator,EHA)的典型故障,详细分析了故障原理并在MATLAB/Simulink中搭建了仿真模型。为了高效准确识别故障类型,提出一种用遗传算法(Genetic Algorithm,GA)和粒子群算法(Particle Swarm Optimization,PSO)混合优化支持向量机(Support Vector Machine,SVM)的故障诊断算法。GA鲁棒性好且全局搜索能力强但收敛速度慢,PSO对样本规模不敏感且具有记忆功能但易陷入局部最优,故融合两种算法寻找SVM的最优参数。另外,为了解决传统SVM多分类方法“一对多”和“一对一”易出现不可分的问题,建立一种偏二叉树结构的SVM多分类模型。对于采集的原始数据高度重合的情况,引入时域特征统计量进一步提升模型的分类性能。实验结果表明,提出的混合优化算法寻优速度更快、所寻参数更佳,同时用该算法优化的SVM分类模型相比于其他5类常用的机器学习模型分类效果更好,故障识别正确率可达97.7%。 展开更多

Given a connected undirected graph G whose edges are labeled,the minimumlabeling spanning tree(MLST)problemis to find a spanning tree of G with the smallest number of different labels.TheMLST is anNP-hard combinatorial optimization problem,which is widely applied in communication networks,multimodal transportation networks,and data compression.Some approximation algorithms and heuristics algorithms have been proposed for the problem.Firefly algorithm is a new meta-heuristic algorithm.Because of its simplicity and easy implementation,it has been successfully applied in various fields.However,the basic firefly algorithm is not suitable for discrete problems.To this end,a novel discrete firefly algorithm for the MLST problem is proposed in this paper.A binary operation method to update firefly positions and a local feasible handling method are introduced,which correct unfeasible solutions,eliminate redundant labels,and make the algorithm more suitable for discrete problems.Computational results show that the algorithm has good performance.The algorithm can be extended to solve other discrete optimization problems. 展开更多

BH Cen is a short-period early-type binary with a period of 0.792^d in the extremely young star-forming cluster IC 2944. New multi-color CCD photometric light curves in U, B, V, R and I bands are presented and are analyzed by using the Wilson-Devinney code. It is detected that BH Cen is a high-mass-ratio overcontact binary with a fill-out factor of 46.4% and a mass ratio of 0.89. The derived orbital inclination i is 88.9 degrees, indicating that it is a totally eclipsing binary and the photometric parameters can be determined reliably. By adding new eclipse times, the orbital period changes in the binary are analyzed. It is confirmed that the period of BH Cen shows a long-term increase while it undergoes a cyclic oscillation with an amplitude of A3 = 0.024 d and a period of P3 = 50.3 yr. The high mass ratio, overcontact configuration and long-term continuous increase in the orbital period all suggest that BH Cen is in the evolutionary state after the shortest-period stage of Case A mass transfer.The continuous increase in period can be explained by mass transfer from the secondary component to the primary one at a rate of˙M2 = 2.8×10^-6 M⊙per year. The cyclic change can be plausibly explained by the presence of a third body because both components in the BH Cen system are early-type stars. Its mass is determined to be no less than 2.2 M⊙ at an orbital separation of about 32.5 AU. Since no third light was found during the photometric solution, it is possible that the third body may be a candidate for a compact object. 展开更多

We present photometric observations in Sloan filters g′, i′of the eclipsing W UMa stars USNOA2.0 1350-17365531, V471 Cas, V479 Lac and V560 Lac. The sinusoidal-like O-C diagram of V471 Cas indicates the presence of a third body with mass 0.12 M_⊙(a red dwarf) at distance 897 R_⊙. The O-C diagram of V479 Lac reveals a period decrease of d P/dt =-1.69 × 10-6d yr-1. The results of the light curve solutions are:(i) the targets are overcontact binaries with small fill-out factors;(ii) their components are F–K stars, comparable in size, whose temperature differences are below 80 K;(iii) all targets undergo partial eclipses and to limit the possible mass ratios we carried out two-step q-search analysis. The target global parameters(luminosities, radii, masses) were obtained on the basis of their Gaia distances and the results of our light curve solutions. The obtained total mass of V560 Lac turns out to be smaller than the lower mass limit for presently known W UMa binaries of 1.0-1.2 M_⊙, i.e. this target is a peculiar overcontact system. 展开更多

A binary tree can be represented by a code reflecting the traversal of the corresponding regular binary tree in given monotonic order. A different coding scheme based on the branches of a regular binary tree with n-nodes is proposed. It differs from the coding scheme generally used and makes no distinction between internal nodes and terminal nodes. A code of a regular binary tree with nnodes is formed by labeling the left branches by O’s and the right branches by l’s and then traversing these branches in pre-order. Investigations into the thermal non-equilibrium of W UMa-type contact binaries

Traditionally, some physical details(e.g., magnetic braking, energy transfer, angular momentum loss, etc.) have to be taken into consideration during investigations into the evolution of contact binaries. However, the real evolutionary processes which usually contain several of these physical mechanisms are very complicated as a result of strong interaction between components. To avoid dealing with these factors, a linear relationship is applied to the temperatures of components. It is found that the higher the mass ratio(M2/M1) of a contact system, the weaker the deviation from thermal equilibrium.On this basis, a variation trend of fill-out factor(f) changing with mass ratio can be inferred, which is consistent with observations. Moreover, if we stick to this point of view, it should be natural that the number of semi-detached binaries in the predicted broken-contact phase of relaxation oscillations is less than the number in the contact phase. 展开更多

A Photometric Study of the W UMa-Type Contact Binary RZ Com

We present results of CCD photometric observations of the short-period W UMatype contact binary system, RZ Com. The light curve of the binary has changed from Wsubtype to A-subtype from 1998 to 2003, then back to W-subtype in 2004. An analysis was carried out using the 2003 version of the Wilson-Devinney code. It is confirmed that RZ Com is a low-degree, overcontact f = 20.1% (±7.4%) binary system with a high inclination of i = 81.°40 (+0.°40), and a mass ratio q = 2.351 (+0.031). Combining four newly determined times of light minimum with others in the literature, the variations in orbital period is examined. A small-amplitude oscillation (A=0.0065d), with a period of 41.5 year, is discovered superimposed on a long-term increase at rate dP/dt = +3.97 × 10^-8d yr^-1. The period oscillation can be explained either by the light-time effect due to the presence of an unseen third body, or by cycles of magnetic activity on the components. Combining our photometric solution with the spectroscopic elements obtained by Mclean & Hilditch, the absolute dimensions ofRZ Com are: M1 = 1.14 (±0.19)M⊙, M2 = 0.50 (±0.09)M⊙, R1 = 1.12 (±0.01)R⊙, R2 = 0.78 (+0.01)R⊙ and A = 2.41 (±0.02)R⊙. 展开更多
