An intra-string distributed and inter-string decentralized control method for hybrid series-parallel microgrids

The hybrid series-parallel microgrid attracts more attention by combining the advantages of both the series-stacked voltage and parallel-expanded capacity.Low-voltage distributed generations(DGs)are connected in series to form the intra-string,and then multiple strings are interconnected in parallel.For the existing control strategies,both intra-string and inter-string depend on the centralized or distributed control with high communication reliance.It has limited scalability and redundancy under abnormal conditions.Alternatively,in this study,an intra-string distributed and inter-string decentralized control framework is proposed.Within the string,a few DGs close to the AC bus are the leaders to get the string power information and the rest DGs are the followers to acquire the synchronization information through the droop-based distributed consistency.Specifically,the output of the entire string has the active power−angular frequency(ω-P)droop characteristic,and the decentralized control among strings can be autonomously guaranteed.Moreover,the secondary control is designed to realize multi-mode objectives,including on/off-grid mode switching,grid-connected power interactive management,and off-grid voltage quality regulation.As a result,the proposed method has the ability of plug-and-play capabilities,single-point failure redundancy,and seamless mode-switching.Experimental results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed practical solution. 展开更多

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)swarm collaboration enhances mission effectiveness.However,fixed-wing UAV swarm flights face collaborative safety control problems within a limited airspace in complex environments.Aimed at the cooperative control problem of fixed-wing UAV swarm flights under the airspace constraints of a virtual tube in a complex environment,this paper proposes a behavior-based distributed control method for fixed-wing UAV swarm considering flight safety constraints.Considering the fixed-wing UAV swarm flight problem in complex environment,a virtual tube model based on generator curve is established.The tube keeping,centerline tracking and flight safety behavioral control strategies of the UAV swarm are designed to ensure that the UAV swarm flies along the inside of the virtual tube safety and does not go beyond its boundary.On this basis,a maneuvering decision-making method based on behavioral fusion is proposed to ensure the safe flight of UAV swarm in the restricted airspace.This cooperative control method eliminates the need for respective pre-planned trajectories,reduces communication requirements,and achieves a high level of intelligence.Simulation results show that the proposed behaviorbased UAV swarm cooperative control method is able to make the fixed-wing UAV swarm,which is faster and unable to hover,fly along the virtual tube airspace under various virtual tube shapes and different swarm sizes,and the spacing between the UAVs is larger than the minimum safe distance during the flight. 展开更多

The dense integration of residential distributed photovoltaic(PV)systems into three-phase,four-wire low-voltage(LV)distribution networks results in reverse power flow and three-phase imbalance,leading to voltage violations that hinder the growth of rural distributed PV systems.Traditional voltage droop-based control methods regulate PV power output solely based on local voltage measurements at the point of PV connection.Due to a lack of global coordination and optimization,their efficiency is often subpar.This paper presents a centralized coordinated active/reactive power control strategy for PV inverters in rural LV distribution feeders with high PV penetration.The strategy optimizes residential PV inverter reactive and active power control to enhance voltage quality.It uses sensitivity coefficients derived from the inverse Jacobian matrix to assign adjustment weights to individual PV units and iteratively optimize their power outputs.The control sequence prioritizes reactive power increases;if the coefficients are below average or the inverters reach capacity,active power is curtailed until voltage issues are resolved.A simulation based on a real 37-node rural distribution network shows that the proposed method significantly reduces PV curtailment.Typical daily results indicate a curtailment rate of 1.47%,which is significantly lower than the 15.4%observed with the voltage droop-based control method.The total daily PV power output(measured every 15 min)increases from 5.55 to 6.41 MW,improving PV hosting capacity. 展开更多

With the advent of in-wheel motors and corner modules,the structure of vehicle chassis subsystems has shifted from traditionally centralized to distributed.This review focuses on the distributed chassis system(DCS)equipped with corner modules.It first provides a comprehensive summary and description of the revolution of the structure and control methods of vehicle chassis systems(including driving,braking,suspension,and steering systems).Given that DCS integrates various chassis subsystems,this review moves beyond individual subsystem analysis and delves into the coordination of these subsystems at the vehicle level.It provides a detailed summary of the methods and architectures used for integrated coordination and control,ensuring that multiple subsystems can function seamlessly as an integrated whole.Finally,this review summarizes the latest distributed control architecture for DCS.It also examines current control theories in the fields of control and information technology for distributed systems,such as multi-agent systems and cyber-physical systems.Based on these two control approaches,a multi-domain cooperative control framework for DCS is proposed. 展开更多

Given the rapid development of advanced information systems,microgrids(MGs)suffer from more potential attacks that affect their operational performance.Conventional distributed secondary control with a small,fixed sampling time period inevitably causes the wasteful use of communication resources.This paper proposes a self-triggered secondary control scheme under perturbations from false data injection(FDI)attacks.We designed a linear clock for each DG to trigger its controller at aperiodic and intermittent instants.Sub-sequently,a hash-based defense mechanism(HDM)is designed for detecting and eliminating malicious data infiltrated in the MGs.With the aid of HDM,a self-triggered control scheme achieves the secondary control objectives even in the presence of FDI attacks.Rigorous theoretical analyses and simulation results indicate that the introduced secondary control scheme significantly reduces communication costs and enhances the resilience of MGs under FDI attacks. 展开更多

This paper proposes a distributed event-triggered control(ETC)framework to address cooperative target fencing challenges in UAV swarm.The proposed architecture eliminates the reliance on preset formation parameters while achieving multi-objective cooperative control for target fencing,network connectivity preservation,collision avoidance,and communication efficiency optimization.Firstly,a differential state observer is constructed to obtain the target's unmeasurable states.Secondly,leveraging swarm selforganization principles,a geometric-constraint-free distributed fencing controller is designed by integrating potential field methods with consensus theory.The controller dynamically adjusts inter-UAV distances via single potential function,enabling coordinated optimization of persistent network connectivity and collision-free motion during target fencing.Thirdly,a dual-threshold ETC mechanism based on velocity consensus deviation and fencing error is proposed,which can be triggered based on task features to dynamically adjust the communication frequency,significantly reduce the communication burden and exclude Zeno behavior.Theoretical analysis demonstrates the stability of closed-loop systems.Multi-scenario simulations show that the proposed method can achieve robust fencing under target maneuverability,partial UAV failures,and communication disturbances. 展开更多

Congestion control is an inherent challenge of V2X(Vehicle to Everything)technologies.Due to the use of a broadcasting mechanism,channel congestion becomes severe with the increase in vehicle density.The researchers suggested reducing the frequency of packet dissemination to relieve congestion,which caused a rise in road driving risk.Obviously,high-risk vehicles should be able to send messages timely to alarm surrounding vehicles.Therefore,packet dissemination frequency should be set according to the corresponding vehicle’s risk level,which is hard to evaluate.In this paper,a two-stage fuzzy inference model is constructed to evaluate a vehicle’s risk level,while a congestion control algorithm DRG-DCC(Driving Risk Game-Distributed Congestion Control)is proposed.Moreover,HPSO is employed to find optimal solutions.The simulation results show that the proposed method adjusts the transmission frequency based on driving risk,effectively striking a balance between transmission delay and channel busy rate. 展开更多

In this paper,a distributed Event-Triggered(ET)collision avoidance coordinated control for Quadrotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(QUAVs)is proposed based on Virtual Tubes(VTs)with flexible boundaries in the presence of unknown external disturbances.Firstly,VTs are constructed for each QUAV,and the QUAV is restricted into the corresponding VT by the artificial potential field,which is distributed around the boundary of the VT.Thus,the collisions between QUAVs are avoided.Besides,the boundaries of the VTs are flexible by the modification signals,which are generated by the self-regulating auxiliary systems,to make the repulsive force smaller and give more buffer space for QUAVs without collision.Then,a novel ET mechanism is designed by introducing the concept of prediction to the traditional fixed threshold ET mechanism.Furthermore,a disturbance observer is proposed to deal with the adverse effects of the unknown external disturbance.On this basis,a distributed ET collision avoidance coordinated controller is proposed.Then,the proposed controller is quantized by the hysteresis uniform quantizer and then sent to the actuator only at the ET instants.The boundedness of the closed-loop signals is verified by the Lyapunov method.Finally,simulation and experimental results are performed to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed control method. 展开更多

To investigate the control of morphing wings by means of interacting effectors,this article proposes a distributed coordinated control scheme with sampled communication on the basis of a simple morphing wing model,established with arrayed agents. The control scheme can change the shape of airfoil into an expected one and keep it smooth during morphing. As the interconnection of communication network and the agents would make the behavior of the morphing wing system complicated,a diagrammatic stability analysis method is put forward to ensure the system stability. Two simulations are carried out on the morphing wing system by using MATLAB. The results stand witness to the feasibility of the distributed coordinated control scheme and the effectiveness of the diagrammatic stability analysis method. 展开更多

We address the control problem of microgrids and present a fully distributed control system which consists of primary controller, secondary controller, and optimal active power sharing controller. Different from the existing control structure in microgrids, all these controllers are implemented as local controllers at each distributed generator. Thus, the requirement for a central controller is obviated. The performance analysis of the proposed control systems is provided, and the finite-time convergence properties for distributed secondary frequency and voltage controllers are achieved. Moreover, the distributed control system possesses the optimal active power sharing property. For a distributed drive electric vehicle(DDEV)driven by four in-wheel motors,advanced vehicle dynamic control methods can be realized easily because motors can be controlled independently,quickly and precisely.And direct yaw-moment control(DYC)has been widely studied and applied to vehicle stability control.Good vehicle handling performance:quick yaw rate transient response,small overshoot,high steady yaw rate gain,etc,is required by drivers under normal conditions,which is less concerned,however.Based on the hierarchical control methodology,a novel control system using direct yaw moment control for improving handling performance of a distributed drive electric vehicle especially under normal driving conditions has been proposed.The upper-loop control system consists of two parts:a state feedback controller,which aims to realize the ideal transient response of yaw rate,with a vehicle sideslip angle observer;and a steering wheel angle feedforward controller designed to achieve a desired yaw rate steady gain.Under the restriction of the effect of poles and zeros in the closed-loop transfer function on the system response and the capacity of in-wheel motors,the integrated time and absolute error(ITAE)function is utilized as the cost function in the optimal control to calculate the ideal eigen frequency and damper coefficient of the system and obtain optimal feedback matrix and feedforward matrix.Simulations and experiments with a DDEV under multiple maneuvers are carried out and show the effectiveness of the proposed method:yaw rate rising time is reduced,steady yaw rate gain is increased,vehicle steering characteristic is close to neutral steer and drivers burdens are also reduced.The control system improves vehicle handling performance under normal conditions in both transient and steady response.State feedback control instead of model following control is introduced in the control system so that the sense of control intervention to drivers is relieved. 展开更多

This paper addresses the cooperative control problem of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles(multi-UAV)systems.First,a new distributed consensus algorithm for second-order nonlinear multi-agent systems(MAS)is formulated under the leader-following approach.The algorithm provides smooth input signals to the agents’control channels,which avoids the chattering effect generated by the conventional sliding mode-based control protocols.Second,a new formation control scheme is developed by integrating smooth distributed consensus control protocols into the geometric pattern model to achieve three-dimensional formation tracking.The Lyapunov theory is used to prove the stability and convergence of both distributed consensus and formation controllers.The effectiveness of the proposed algorithms is demonstrated through simulation results. 展开更多
