Through field investigation, karst landscapes of Suzhou area were divided into two categories based on their morphological characteristics: macro-geomorphologic landscapes including normal hills, dry valleys, karst springs and caves, and micro-corrosion landscapes including corrosion pits, dissolved pores, dissolution traces, corrosion cracks, clints and karrens. Distribution, development and scale of karst landscapes in this region are controlled by climate, rock type, structure, topography and other factors. It was suggested that karst landscapes in the study area could be used as a representative of karst landforms in North China.展开更多

Ecological security evaluation will efficiently promote ecological security and environmental construction in regional land use. In this thesis, the authors put forward the index system of ecological security evaluation in karst mountainous area on three aspects, the pressure of resources and eco-environment, the quality of resources and eco-environment, and the ability of environmental protection and ecological improvement. Using the evaluation method with single index, based on the case study ofDu'an Yao Autonomous County of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the system of synthetic regionalization of ecological agricultural economy was formed, which includes three regions, south region with basic security and synthetic agricultural development, east region with critical security and agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry balanced development, mid-west and south region with ecological insecurity and compounded agriculture and forestry management. Meanwhile, for these regions, the countermeasures of sustainable agricultural development were pointed out, which provide the basis and example for ecological regulation and control of sustainable agricultural development in counties ofkarst mountainous area.展开更多

Moreover, these areas are still at the initial stage of industrialization, characterized by a greater significance of agriculture to the economy, face sharp contradictions among the population, the arable land and resources, and are suffering because of a shortage of investment. On the basis of this current situation, three recommendations are made in this article: "coordinating the relations among grain, ecology, population and economic development", "increasing the input of science and technology", and "adopting policies consistent with social equity in areas of poverty".展开更多

Their features and rock relief clearly reflect the geological conditions and development. The subsoil karren with conical tops dissected by subsoil rock relief were exposed from beneath the soil. Below tree vegetation, the subsoil karren are to a great extent covered by moss and lichen, under which they acquire their characteristic shape. On the bare surface they were reshaped by rainwater that carves flutes and solution pans. The old cave that opens below the top of one of the cones reveals the period before its dissection into hills and cones when this part of the karst aquifer was still deep under the water table.展开更多

This article (and the associated poster presentation) discusses theoretical processes that may act in addition to mass dissolution kinetics in producing voids, conduits and caves in autogenic karst landforms. Possible theoretical factors that affect these speleogenic processes are: microscopic mixing corrosion (low constant flow, low constant flow against current, temperature-induced mixing corrosion, and pressure-induced mixing corrosion in karst matrix), random dissolution models, simulation of gravity-induced microscopic breakdown, and storm surge effects. Finally, a theoretical model is discussed that unifies these various microscopic processes into a macro-scale process, called internal pressure sculpting. Computer models were designed to illustrate these theoretical processes: Non-calibrated computer models simulating each process discussed in this paper are presented for illustration, as well as the preliminary results of calibrated models depicting random dissolution, mechanical breakdown, and storm surge effects. The theoretical processes discussed and simulated may have major effects on cave morphology. Computer simulations appear to accurately portray the shape and form of some cave features with dissolutional morphologies. Theoretical discussion concludes with a general discussion of possible improvements to the presented models as well as the ability to generalize theoretical processes to hypogenic, halogenic, and autogenic speleogenesis.展开更多

文摘The Sinian Dengying Formation gas reservoir in the Anyue gas field of the Sichuan Basin is an ultra-deep ancient dolomite karst gas reservoir, whose development is of high difficulty, for the reservoir is thin and scattered with strong heterogeneity and is overall characterized by low porosity and low permeability. In order to provide support for the large-scale productivity construction of the gas reservoir of the fourth member of Dengying Formation(Deng 4 Member)in the marginal platform belt of the Anyue gas field, this paper carries out multi-discipline comprehensive researches on the technical bottlenecks based on the geological characteristics of the gas reservoir. In addition, the targeted key technologies for the efficient development of gas reservoirs were developed in the mode of“simultaneous research, application and improvement”.And the following research results are obtained.First, based on the modeling technology of fracturedevuggy dolomite karst reservoirs, accurate modeling of karst reservoirs is realized.Late actual drilling results show that the model's coincidence rate is increased from 63.0% to 90.7% and the“transparency”of gas reservoirs is achieved.Second, based on the reserve mobility evaluation technology of lowporosity and highly-heterogeneous karst reservoirs, the recovery factors of different reservoirs are determined. And consequently, the lower limit of well-controlled reserves and radius for the efficient development of different reservoirs are obtained and type Ⅰ and Ⅱ reservoirs are selected as the main development targets.Third, based on the development optimization design technology of highly-heterogeneous karst gas reservoirs,it is recommended to apply highly-deviated wells(the maximum deviation angle of 75°-84°)in the situations with multiple reservoirs crossed and superimposed. If type Ⅰ and Ⅱ reservoirs are developed intensively,it is recommended to adopt horizontal well drilling with a horizontal section of 800-1100 m.What's more, the reasonable well spacing in type Ⅰ and Ⅱ reservoirs shall be 1.6-3.3 km and 0.9-1.4 km,respectively.Fourth, based on the distinguished drilling technology of highly-deviated wells/horizontal wells in deep carbonate rocks, the fault complexity ratio is decreased from 20.7% to 4.9%,so safe and fast drilling and completion of highly-deviated wells/horizontal wells is realized and well control risks are diminished. What's more, the drilling rates of type Ⅰ and Ⅱ reservoirs are increased from 24.2% to 87.3%,indicating an effective improvement of reservoir drilling rates.Fifth, based on the open-hole segmented accurate acid fracturing technology of highly-deviated and horizontal wells, the difficulty in the highly-heterogeneous reservoir stimulation by horizontal well drilling is solved by conducting the differentiated acid fracturing process of“one segment, one strategy”.Based on the application of these innovative development technologies in the Deng 4 Member gas reservoir in the marginal platform belt of the Anyue gas field, the annual natural gas production capacity and cumulative natural gas production by the end of December 2020 are 60×10^(8) m^(3) and 103×10^(8) m^(3),respectively.In this way,the Sinian Dengying Formation gas reservoir of the Anyue gas field, the economic benefit of which is close to the marginal benefit, becomes the main force of conventional natural gas production increase.

文摘Based on a systematic analysis about the design principles, systematic objectives, clients’ demands and functional modules of the regional karst desertification disaster information system, a systematic application plan was proposed in this paper that the mainstream technologies like COMGIS, etc. can be used for secondary development, and Du’an Yao Autonomous County of Guangxi was taken as an example to illustrate the application of geographical information system in development of karst desertification disaster information system, and to provide a feasible plan for realization of accessory decision information aiming for sustainable development of karst desertification area.
文摘The serious degradation of the ecological environment and the rapid expansion of stone desert have had a serious effect on the economic development of karst and rock-naked mountain areas in Southwest China. Moreover, these areas are still at the initial stage of industrialization, characterized by a greater significance of agriculture to the economy, face sharp contradictions among the population, the arable land and resources, and are suffering because of a shortage of investment. On the basis of this current situation, three recommendations are made in this article: "coordinating the relations among grain, ecology, population and economic development", "increasing the input of science and technology", and "adopting policies consistent with social equity in areas of poverty".
文摘This paper focuses on migration occurrence as a result of environmental degradation and population growth. It briefly reviews previous practices in some less developed courtries and then considers the extent to which environmental factors have been and may be significant in initiating migration. A case study of the karst region of southwest China is used to illustrate the phenomenon, including root causes, restrictive factors, nature of the migration, desires of migrants, strategies of response and optional policies. It is argued that a comprehensive approach to the prevention of environmentally caused displacement should be developed.

文摘Research on the ecohydrological processes of terrestrial plants is a frontier field comprising ecology, hydrology and global change research, yielding the key theoretical foundations of ecohydrology. In karst areas, due to its unique geological background, the karst landscape is strongly developed, with high bedrock exposure, high permeability, fragmented soils, shallow soils, and high spatial heterogeneity, resulting in very limited water storage for plant uptake and growth in rock fissures and shallow soils. Therefore, water conditions are an important ecological factor influencing plant growth. To comprehensively understand the current progress and development trends in plant water use research focusing on karst areas, this paper uses the VOSviewer software to analyze the literature on plant water use in karst areas between 1984 and 2022.The results showed that:(1)Research on plant water use in karst areas has developed rapidly worldwide, and the number of relevant studies in the literature have increased year by year, which together means that it is attracting more and more attention.(2)The investigation of plant water sources, geological background of karst areas, seasonal arid tropical climates, the relationship betweenδ13C values and plant water use efficiency, karst plant water use in karst savannas and subtropical areas, and ecosystems under climate change yields the knowledge base in this field.(3)Most studies in this area focus on the division of water sources of plants in karst areas, the methods of studying the water use sources of plants, and the water use strategies and efficiency of plants.(4)Future research will focus on how plant water use in karst areas is influenced by Earth’s critical zones, climate change, and ecohydrological separation. These studies will provide a key scientific basis for guiding ecological restoration and promoting sustainable development in karst areas.

文摘Mushroom Mountain karren with predominantly flat tops that formed along the stylolites and bedding planes dictated the special features of this karst landscape. The old cave that opens below the top of one of the cones reveals the period before its dissection into hills and cones when this part of the karst aquifer was still deep under the water table.

文摘In order to study the spatial-temporal change and environmental management of regional karst LUCC (land use and land cover change) and its causative environmental effect-rocky desertification by integrating qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, and relying on RS, GIS and GPS (3S) techniques, karst land rocky derification dynamic monitoring and visualization management information system (KLRD.DMVM.IS) is framed, which includes design aim and structure model, function design, database design and model system design. The model system design gives priority to dynamic monitoring, drive force diagnosis, comprehensive evaluation and decision support of karst rocky desertification. From the viewpoint of model type, mathematic expression and its meaning, the dynamic monitoring models are concretely devised to reflect the spatial and temporal changing features and the trend of karst LUCC and rocky desertification. Taking Du'an Yao Autonomic County of Guangxi as an example, the KLRD.DMVM.IS is systematically analyzed in the application of the process and trend of karst LUCC and rocky desertification in Du'an County, and it provides the technical support for the study on karst land rocky desertification.
文摘Understanding the ongoing speleogenic processes that produce sinkholes and control the vital drinking water supplies of Florida and much else of the world is necessary research. Theoretical discussion concludes with a general discussion of possible improvements to the presented models as well as the ability to generalize theoretical processes to hypogenic, halogenic, and autogenic speleogenesis.
