The route can be expressed as a three-step...A novel route to comprehensive utilization of valuable elements such as Ti, A1, Si and Mg in Ti-bearing electric arc furnace molten slag (Ti-bearing EAF slag) was proposed. The route can be expressed as a three-step process including alkali fusion, water leaching and acidolysis. Following these processes under the optimum conditions, the recovery ratios of TiO2, Al2O3, SiO2 and MgO were about 97.5, 93.5, 27.9 and 53.5%, respectively. Meanwhile, nanostructured TiO2, NaA zeolite and Mg(OH)2 fire retardant were synthesized simultaneously by using Ti-bearing EAF slag as raw materials. In addition, the photocatalytic activity of prepared nanostructured TiO2 and the adsorption property of obtained NaA zeolite were investigated. The results showed that the photodegradation efficiency of as-prepared TiO2 was 80% for rhodamine B and the adsorption efficiency of NaA zeolite was 61% for Cu2+ under the optimum conditions.展开更多

AMF distributions of the slot type electrodes were studied by both numerical analysis and experiments. Furthermore, the behaviours of vacuum arcs for different parameters of the slot type AMF electrodes were investigated by using high-speed CCD camera. The influences of gap distance, contact diameter and phase shift time between AMF and arc current on the vacuum arc were investigated. The characteristics of temperature field based on the comple...A modified mathematical model of heat source for rotating arc welding (RAW) process was developed for investigating the heat and temperature distribution. The characteristics of temperature field based on the complex welding motion trajectory were studied. In this work, a transient three-dimensional ( 3D ) model was established and computed by a finite element analysis computer program MARC as well as its subroutine. In RA'W process, the temperature changes in the style of stepladder. Moreover in the high temperature zone, there are multiple peak temperature points. These characteristics of temperature distribution are induced by the arc rotating which leads the repetitive heating or fasing during the welding process. In contrast with non-rotating arc (NRAW) process, the width of temperature distribution enlarges, and the peak temperature of weld pool decreases. Good agreement is shown between the computed results and experimental results of thermal cycle in RAW process.展开更多

Island-arc basalts (IAB) are distributed in a triangle of these diagrams.Three end-member components (the MORB-type depleted mantle, the fiuid released fromsubducted oceanic crust and the sediments from the continental crust) of the source ofIAB may be displayed in these diagrams. Two types of IAB are identified. They areof the two-component type (with little continental sediments), such as the basalts fromAleutians and New Britain, and the three-component type, such as those from Sunda,Lesser Antilles and Andes. In addition, the EMII type mantle-derived rocks may alsobe divided into two groups. One is exemplifled by continental flood basalts and someperidotite xenoliths, similar to IAB, with high La/Nb and Ba/Nb and low Nb/Th ratios.The other includes the Samoa-type oceanic island basalts, with low La/Nb and Ba/Nband high Nb/Th ratios. By comparing with other three designs of plate type breakwater(lower arc-shaped plate, single horizontal plate and double horizontal plate), this new type breakwater has been proved more effective. The wave exiting force, transmission and reflection coefficients are analyzed and discussed. In order to reveal the wave elimination mechanism of this type of breakwater, the velocity field around the breakwater is obtained. It is shown that:(1) The sway exciting force is minimal.(2) When the ratio of the submergence and wave amplitude is 0.05, the wave elimination effect will increase by 50% compared with other three types of breakwater.(3) The obvious backflow is found above the plate in the velocity field analysis.展开更多

The weighted modifications with respect to the variation of structural stiffness and extra-interpolation modification by using the information of known equilibrium points are introduced to improve the incremental arc-length. An approximate expansion method for the accumulated and expected arc-length is used to ensure the convergence at given load levels in large range of applications. Numerical results show that the improved arc-length method has well adaptability and higher efficiency in the post-buckling analysis of plates and shells structures for tracing whole load-deflection path and obtaining the convergence values at any specified load levels.展开更多
