Human rights are both a hallmark of progress in human civilization and a shared achievement of all civilizations.Throughout history, civilizations, including the Chinese civilization, have continuously explored fundamental questions about human life, value, and dignity, collectively shaping the foundation of global human rights civilization. On November 20,2024,the International Academic Conference on the Ideas of Human Rights in Ancient Chinese Classics was held at the Yuelu Academy of Hunan University.Attendants explored the historical origin and creative transformation of China’s human rights civilization from four dimensions, namely comparative studies of human rights civilizations in China and abroad, human rights concepts in Confucian classics and historical records, human rights concepts in Chinese philosophical and miscellaneous works, and human rights concepts in legal texts. The conference examined the historical connection between human rights concepts in ancient Chinese classics and the shared values of humanity, aiming to promote global human rights dialogue and mutual learning through civilizational exchanges.By bridging“ancient and modern,East and West,”it illuminated the civilizational foundations and Chinese wisdom underlying global human rights governance. 展开更多

Huang Di Nei Jing (Nei Jing), one of the most important classical texts of traditional Chinese medicine, is the foundation upon which today's Chinese medicine principles are built. This seminal ancient classic has been translated into English many times by different scholars worldwide. The authors have found thirteen English versions, each of which has its own distinctive features. By reviewing different versions and research achievements of the English translation, the authors try to summarize the translation style, purpose, content and other features of each version, and point out each translation's weaknesses, strengths, or significance. The emerging of so many English versions of Nei Jing, an ancient and sophisticated text, shows that scholars have disparate understanding of its language and concepts. Additionally, different educational backgrounds, professions and goals of the translators will all contribute to different perspectives and approaches in the translation. It is understandable that so many versions of translation exist for such an ancient and important classic. However, to achieve truly accurate translation of ancient classical texts of Chinese medicine, all translators should abide by certain basic requirements and translation principles. 展开更多

Objective:This study aimed to examine the mechanism of classic ancient prescription of Chinese medicine Yinchenhao decoction in treating jaundice based on network pharmacology.Method:An oral bioavailability of≥30%,a drug likeness of≥0.18,and literature studies were used to screen for Yinchen(Artemisiae scopariae herba),Zhizi(Gardeniae fructus),Dahuang(Rhei radix et rhizome)in the Chinese Medicine System Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform. The active ingredient was introduced into the PubChem database to collect drug component targets and import into the Uniprot database for gene standardization. The target gene of Yinchen(Artemisiae scopariae herba)was screened via Human Gene Database(GeneCards). Then, use the Cytoscape 3.7.2 software was used for network visualization analysis, and the R3.6.1 software was used for gene ontology functional and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analyses. Results:We collected a total of 47 active constituents of classic ancient prescription of Chinese medicine Yinchenhao decoction,of which 17 were related to jaundice;189,9 targets of jaundice were screened,of which 41 were interdigitated with the targets of classic ancient prescription of Chinese medicine Yinchenhao decoction.Gene ontology functional enrichment analysis revealed 111 biological processes,14 cellular components, and 28 molecular functions, and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analysis showed 34 Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathways including hepatocellular carcinoma,PI3K-Akt signaling pathway,HIF-1 signaling pathway, prolactin signaling pathway, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Conclusion:Based on the network pharmacology, the analysis of jaundice and classic ancient prescription of Chinese medicine Yinchenhao decoction provides a novel idea and direction for the study of classic ancient prescription of Chinese medicine Yinchenhao decoction in the treatment of jaundice. 展开更多
