These targets are capable of achieving sharp maneuvers within a short period of time, such as drones and agile missiles.The probability hypothesis density (PHD) filter, which propagates only the first-order statistical moment of the full target posterior, has been shown to be a computationally efficient solution to multitarget tracking problems. However, the standard PHD filter operates on the single dynamic model and requires prior information about target birth distribution, which leads to many limitations in terms of practical applications. In this paper,we introduce a nonzero mean, white noise turn rate dynamic model and generalize jump Markov systems to multitarget case to accommodate sharply maneuvering dynamics. Moreover, to adaptively estimate newborn targets’information, a measurement-driven method based on the recursive random sampling consensus (RANSAC) algorithm is proposed. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves significant improvement in tracking multiple sharply maneuvering targets with adaptive birth estimation.展开更多

Once the spoofer has controlled the navigation sys-tem of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV),it is hard to effectively control the error convergence to meet the threshold condition only by adjusting parameters of estimation...Once the spoofer has controlled the navigation sys-tem of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV),it is hard to effectively control the error convergence to meet the threshold condition only by adjusting parameters of estimation if estimation of the spoofer on UAV has continuous observation error.Aiming at this problem,the influence of the spoofer’s state estimation error on spoofing effect and error convergence conditions is theoretically analyzed,and an improved adaptively robust estimation algo-rithm suitable for steady-state linear quadratic estimator is pro-posed.It enables the spoofer’s estimator to reliably estimate UAV status in real time,improves the robustness of the estima-tor in responding to observation errors,and accelerates the con-vergence time of error control.Simulation experiments show that the mean value of normalized innovation squared(NIS)is reduced by 88.5%,and the convergence time of NIS value is reduced by 76.3%,the convergence time of true trajectory error of UAV is reduced by 42.3%,the convergence time of estimated trajectory error of UAV is reduced by 67.4%,the convergence time of estimated trajectory error of the spoofer is reduced by 33.7%,and the convergence time of broadcast trajectory error of the spoofer is reduced by 54.8%when the improved algorithm is used.The improved algorithm can make UAV deviate from pre-set trajectory to spoofing trajectory more effectively and more subtly.展开更多

This paper presents a new real-time error compensation method aimi...Contour following is one of the most important issues faced by many computer-numerical-control(CNC) machine tools to achieve high machining precision. This paper presents a new real-time error compensation method aiming at reducing the contouring error caused by facts such as servo lag and dynamics mismatch in parametric curved contour-following tasks. Due to the lack of high-precision contouring-error estimation method for free-form parametric curved toolpath, the error can hardly be compensated effectively. Therefore, an adaptive accurate contouring-error estimation algorithm is proposed first, where a tangential-error backstepping method based on Taylor's expansion is developed to rapidly find the closest point on the parametric curve to the actual motion position. On this foundation, the contouring error is compensated using a proposed nonlinear variable-gain compensation method, where the compensation gain is obtained according to not only the contouring-error magnitude but also its direction variation. The stability of the system after compensation is analyzed afterwards according to the Jury stability criterion.By design of the compensator in accordance with the presented contouring-error compensation method as well as the stability analyzation result, the balance between the response speed and the contour control stability can be effectively made. Experimental tests demonstrate the feasibility of the presented methods in both contouring-error estimation and contour-accuracy improvement.Contributions of this research are significant for enhancing the contour-following performance of the CNC machine tools.展开更多

The performance of the PHD filter, however, is sensitive to the available knowledg...The probability hypothesis density(PHD) filter has been recognized as a promising technique for tracking an unknown number of targets. The performance of the PHD filter, however, is sensitive to the available knowledge on model parameters such as the measurement noise variance and those associated with the changes in the maneuvering target trajectories. If these parameters are unknown in advance, the tracking performance may degrade greatly. To address this aspect, this paper proposes to incorporate the adaptive parameter estimation(APE) method in the PHD filter so that the model parameters, which may be static and/or time-varying, can be estimated jointly with target states. The resulting APE-PHD algorithm is implemented using the particle filter(PF), which leads to the PF-APE-PHD filter. Simulations show that the newly proposed algorithm can correctly identify the unknown measurement noise variances, and it is capable of tracking multiple maneuvering targets with abrupt changing parameters in a more robust manner, compared to the multi-model approaches.展开更多

An efficient new algorithm called the adaptive Gaussian-sum square-root cubature Kalman filter(AGSSCKF) with a split-merge scheme is proposed. It is developed based on the squared-root extension of newly introduced cubature Kalman filter(SCKF) and is built within a Gaussian-sum framework. Based on the condition that the probability density functions of process noises and initial state are denoted by a Gaussian sum using optimization method, a bank of SCKF are used as the sub-filters to estimate state of system with the corresponding weights respectively, which is adaptively updated. The new algorithm consists of an adaptive splitting and merging procedure according to a proposed split-decision model based on the nonlinearity degree of measurement. The results of two simulation scenarios(one-dimensional state estimation and bearings-only tracking) show that the proposed filter demonstrates comparable performance to the particle filter with significantly reduced computational cost.展开更多

Mechanical properties are critical to the quality of hot-rolled steel pipe products.Accurately understanding the relationship between rolling parameters and mechanical properties is crucial for effective prediction an...Mechanical properties are critical to the quality of hot-rolled steel pipe products.Accurately understanding the relationship between rolling parameters and mechanical properties is crucial for effective prediction and control.To address this,an industrial big data platform was developed to collect and process multi-source heterogeneous data from the entire production process,providing a complete dataset for mechanical property prediction.The adaptive bandwidth kernel density estimation(ABKDE)method was proposed to adjust bandwidth dynamically based on data density.Combining long short-term memory neural networks with ABKDE offers robust prediction interval capabilities for mechanical properties.The proposed method was deployed in a large-scale steel plant,which demonstrated superior prediction interval performance compared to lower upper bound estimation,mean variance estimation,and extreme learning machine-adaptive bandwidth kernel density estimation,achieving a prediction interval normalized average width of 0.37,a prediction interval coverage probability of 0.94,and the lowest coverage width-based criterion of 1.35.Notably,shapley additive explanations-based explanations significantly improved the proposed model’s credibility by providing a clear analysis of feature impacts.展开更多
Estimation of state-of-charge and state-of-health for batteries is one of the most important feature for modern battery management system(BMS).Robust or adaptive methods are the most investigated because a more intell...Estimation of state-of-charge and state-of-health for batteries is one of the most important feature for modern battery management system(BMS).Robust or adaptive methods are the most investigated because a more intelligent BMS could lead to sensible cost reduction of the entire battery system.We propose a new robust method,called ERMES(extendible range multi-model estimator),for determining an estimated state-of-charge(SoC),an estimated state-of-health(SoH)and a prediction of uncertainty of the estimates(state-of-uncertainty—SoU),thanks to which it is possible to monitor the validity of the estimates and adjust it,extending the robustness against a wider range of uncertainty,if necessary.Specifically,a finite number of models in state-space form are considered starting from a modified Thevenin battery model.Each model is characterized by a hypothesis of SoH value.An iterated extended Kalman filter(EKF)is then applied to each model in parallel,estimating for each one the SoC state variable.Residual errors are then considered to fuse both the estimated SoC and SoH from the bank of EKF,yielding the overall SoC and SoH estimates,respectively.In addition,a figure of uncertainty of such estimates is also provided.展开更多

In the vision of future space exploration, communication links among planets, satel ites, spacecrafts and crewed vehicles wil be designed according to a new paradigm, known as the disruption tolerant networking. In this scenario, space channel peculiarities impose a massive reengineering of many of the protocols usually adopted in terrestrial networks; among them, security solutions are to be deeply reviewed, and tailored to the specific space requirements. Security is to be provided not only to the payload data exchanged on the network, but also to the telecommands sent to a spacecraft, along possibly differentiated paths. Starting from the secure space telecommand design developed by the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems as a response to agency-based requirements, an adaptive link layer security architecture is proposed to address some of the chal enges for future space networks. Based on the analysis of the communication environment and the error diffusion properties of the authentication algorithms, a suitable mechanism is proposed to classify frame retransmission requests on the basis of the originating event (error or security attack) and reduce the impact of security operations. An adaptive algorithm to optimize the space control protocol, based on estimates of the time varying space channel, is also presented. The simulation results clearly demonstrate that the proposed architecture is feasible and efficient, especially when facing malicious attacks against frame transmission.展开更多

The general higher-order statistics may not be easily applied in signal processing with too complex computation. Based on the fourth-order cumulant with 1-D slices and adaptive filters, an efficient algorithm is proposed to solve the problem and is extended for nonstationary stochastic processes. In order to achieve the accurate parameter estimation of direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signals, the fast step uses the modified fourth-order cumulant to reduce the computing complexity. While the second step employs an adaptive recursive system to estimate the power spectrum in the frequency domain. In the case of intercepted signals without large enough data samples, the estimator provides good performance in parameter estimation and white Gaussian noise suppression. Computer simulations are included to corroborate the theoretical development with different signal-to-noise ratio conditions and recursive coefficients.展开更多

The detection of motion blocks can accurately identify the motion blocks by using successive 4-field images. The motion estimation module with Kalman filtering searches motion vectors only for motion blocks, and the search model is adaptive to motion velocity and acceleration. Two de-interlacing methods are adopted to satisfy the different requirements of motion blocks and static blocks. Compared with full search algorithm, the proposed algorithm greatly reduces the computational amount while keeping the performance approximately.展开更多

文摘Contour following is one of the most important issues faced by many computer-numerical-control(CNC) machine tools to achieve high machining precision. This paper presents a new real-time error compensation method aiming at reducing the contouring error caused by facts such as servo lag and dynamics mismatch in parametric curved contour-following tasks. Due to the lack of high-precision contouring-error estimation method for free-form parametric curved toolpath, the error can hardly be compensated effectively. Therefore, an adaptive accurate contouring-error estimation algorithm is proposed first, where a tangential-error backstepping method based on Taylor's expansion is developed to rapidly find the closest point on the parametric curve to the actual motion position. On this foundation, the contouring error is compensated using a proposed nonlinear variable-gain compensation method, where the compensation gain is obtained according to not only the contouring-error magnitude but also its direction variation. The stability of the system after compensation is analyzed afterwards according to the Jury stability criterion.By design of the compensator in accordance with the presented contouring-error compensation method as well as the stability analyzation result, the balance between the response speed and the contour control stability can be effectively made. Experimental tests demonstrate the feasibility of the presented methods in both contouring-error estimation and contour-accuracy improvement.Contributions of this research are significant for enhancing the contour-following performance of the CNC machine tools.

文摘The probability hypothesis density(PHD) filter has been recognized as a promising technique for tracking an unknown number of targets. The performance of the PHD filter, however, is sensitive to the available knowledge on model parameters such as the measurement noise variance and those associated with the changes in the maneuvering target trajectories. If these parameters are unknown in advance, the tracking performance may degrade greatly. To address this aspect, this paper proposes to incorporate the adaptive parameter estimation(APE) method in the PHD filter so that the model parameters, which may be static and/or time-varying, can be estimated jointly with target states. The resulting APE-PHD algorithm is implemented using the particle filter(PF), which leads to the PF-APE-PHD filter. Simulations show that the newly proposed algorithm can correctly identify the unknown measurement noise variances, and it is capable of tracking multiple maneuvering targets with abrupt changing parameters in a more robust manner, compared to the multi-model approaches.

文摘The paper deals with state estimation problem of nonlinear non-Gaussian discrete dynamic systems for improvement of accuracy and consistency. An efficient new algorithm called the adaptive Gaussian-sum square-root cubature Kalman filter(AGSSCKF) with a split-merge scheme is proposed. It is developed based on the squared-root extension of newly introduced cubature Kalman filter(SCKF) and is built within a Gaussian-sum framework. Based on the condition that the probability density functions of process noises and initial state are denoted by a Gaussian sum using optimization method, a bank of SCKF are used as the sub-filters to estimate state of system with the corresponding weights respectively, which is adaptively updated. The new algorithm consists of an adaptive splitting and merging procedure according to a proposed split-decision model based on the nonlinearity degree of measurement. The results of two simulation scenarios(one-dimensional state estimation and bearings-only tracking) show that the proposed filter demonstrates comparable performance to the particle filter with significantly reduced computational cost.

文摘In this paper, an adaptive estimation algorithm is proposed for non-linear dynamic systems with unknown static parameters based on combination of particle filtering and Simultaneous Perturbation Stochastic Approxi- mation (SPSA) technique. The estimations of parameters are obtained by maximum-likelihood estimation and sampling within particle filtering framework, and the SPSA is used for stochastic optimization and to approximate the gradient of the cost function. The proposed algorithm achieves combined estimation of dynamic state and static parameters of nonlinear systems. Simulation result demonstrates the feasibilitv and efficiency of the proposed algorithm

文摘In this paper,an adaptive control strategy is proposed to investigate the issue of uncertain dead-zone input for nonlinear triangular systems with unknown nonlinearities.The considered system has no precise priori knowledge about the dead-zone feature and growth rate of nonlinearity.Firstly,a dynamic gain is introduced to deal with the unknown growth rate,and the dead-zone characteristic is processed by the adaptive estimation approach without constructing the dead-zone inverse.Then,by virtue of hyperbolic functions and sign functions,a new adaptive state feedback controller is proposed to guarantee the global boundedness of all signals in the closed-loop system.Moreover,the uncertain dead-zone input problem for nonlinear upper-triangular systems is solved by the similar control strategy.Finally,two simulation examples are given to verify the effectiveness of the control scheme.

文摘Mechanical properties are critical to the quality of hot-rolled steel pipe products.Accurately understanding the relationship between rolling parameters and mechanical properties is crucial for effective prediction and control.To address this,an industrial big data platform was developed to collect and process multi-source heterogeneous data from the entire production process,providing a complete dataset for mechanical property prediction.The adaptive bandwidth kernel density estimation(ABKDE)method was proposed to adjust bandwidth dynamically based on data density.Combining long short-term memory neural networks with ABKDE offers robust prediction interval capabilities for mechanical properties.The proposed method was deployed in a large-scale steel plant,which demonstrated superior prediction interval performance compared to lower upper bound estimation,mean variance estimation,and extreme learning machine-adaptive bandwidth kernel density estimation,achieving a prediction interval normalized average width of 0.37,a prediction interval coverage probability of 0.94,and the lowest coverage width-based criterion of 1.35.Notably,shapley additive explanations-based explanations significantly improved the proposed model’s credibility by providing a clear analysis of feature impacts.
文摘Estimation of state-of-charge and state-of-health for batteries is one of the most important feature for modern battery management system(BMS).Robust or adaptive methods are the most investigated because a more intelligent BMS could lead to sensible cost reduction of the entire battery system.We propose a new robust method,called ERMES(extendible range multi-model estimator),for determining an estimated state-of-charge(SoC),an estimated state-of-health(SoH)and a prediction of uncertainty of the estimates(state-of-uncertainty—SoU),thanks to which it is possible to monitor the validity of the estimates and adjust it,extending the robustness against a wider range of uncertainty,if necessary.Specifically,a finite number of models in state-space form are considered starting from a modified Thevenin battery model.Each model is characterized by a hypothesis of SoH value.An iterated extended Kalman filter(EKF)is then applied to each model in parallel,estimating for each one the SoC state variable.Residual errors are then considered to fuse both the estimated SoC and SoH from the bank of EKF,yielding the overall SoC and SoH estimates,respectively.In addition,a figure of uncertainty of such estimates is also provided.

文摘Impressive advances in space technology are enabling complex missions, with potentially significant and long term impacts on human life and activities. In the vision of future space exploration, communication links among planets, satel ites, spacecrafts and crewed vehicles wil be designed according to a new paradigm, known as the disruption tolerant networking. In this scenario, space channel peculiarities impose a massive reengineering of many of the protocols usually adopted in terrestrial networks; among them, security solutions are to be deeply reviewed, and tailored to the specific space requirements. Security is to be provided not only to the payload data exchanged on the network, but also to the telecommands sent to a spacecraft, along possibly differentiated paths. Starting from the secure space telecommand design developed by the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems as a response to agency-based requirements, an adaptive link layer security architecture is proposed to address some of the chal enges for future space networks. Based on the analysis of the communication environment and the error diffusion properties of the authentication algorithms, a suitable mechanism is proposed to classify frame retransmission requests on the basis of the originating event (error or security attack) and reduce the impact of security operations. An adaptive algorithm to optimize the space control protocol, based on estimates of the time varying space channel, is also presented. The simulation results clearly demonstrate that the proposed architecture is feasible and efficient, especially when facing malicious attacks against frame transmission.
文摘A new adaptive estimator for direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signals using fourth-order cumulant based adaptive method is considered. The general higher-order statistics may not be easily applied in signal processing with too complex computation. Based on the fourth-order cumulant with 1-D slices and adaptive filters, an efficient algorithm is proposed to solve the problem and is extended for nonstationary stochastic processes. In order to achieve the accurate parameter estimation of direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signals, the fast step uses the modified fourth-order cumulant to reduce the computing complexity. While the second step employs an adaptive recursive system to estimate the power spectrum in the frequency domain. In the case of intercepted signals without large enough data samples, the estimator provides good performance in parameter estimation and white Gaussian noise suppression. Computer simulations are included to corroborate the theoretical development with different signal-to-noise ratio conditions and recursive coefficients.

文摘A novel adaptive detector for airborne radar space-time adaptive detection (STAD) in partially homogeneous environments is proposed. The novel detector combines the numerically stable Krylov subspace technique and diagonal loading technique, and it uses the framework of the adaptive coherence estimator (ACE). It can effectively detect a target with low sample support. Compared with its natural competitors, the novel detector has higher proba- bility of detection (PD), especially when the number of the training data is low. Moreover, it is shown to be practically constant false alarm rate (CFAR).

文摘Signal reconstruction is a significantly important theoretical issue for compressed sensing.Considering the situation of signal reconstruction with unknown sparsity,the conventional signal reconstruction algorithms usually perform low accuracy.In this work,a sparsity adaptive signal reconstruction algorithm using sensing dictionary is proposed to achieve a lower reconstruction error.The sparsity estimation method is combined with the construction of the support set based on sensing dictionary.Using the adaptive sparsity method,an iterative signal reconstruction algorithm is proposed.The sufficient conditions for the exact signal reconstruction of the algorithm also is proved by theory.According to a series of simulations,the results show that the proposed method has higher precision compared with other state-of-the-art signal reconstruction algorithms especially in a high compression ratio scenarios.

文摘The reliability and sensitivity analyses of stator blade regulator usually involve complex characteristics like highnonlinearity,multi-failure regions,and small failure probability,which brings in unacceptable computing efficiency and accuracy of the current analysismethods.In this case,by fitting the implicit limit state function(LSF)with active Kriging(AK)model and reducing candidate sample poolwith adaptive importance sampling(AIS),a novel AK-AIS method is proposed.Herein,theAKmodel andMarkov chainMonte Carlo(MCMC)are first established to identify the most probable failure region(s)(MPFRs),and the adaptive kernel density estimation(AKDE)importance sampling function is constructed to select the candidate samples.With the best samples sequentially attained in the reduced candidate samples and employed to update the Kriging-fitted LSF,the failure probability and sensitivity indices are acquired at a lower cost.The proposed method is verified by twomulti-failure numerical examples,and then applied to the reliability and sensitivity analyses of a typical stator blade regulator.Withmethods comparison,the proposed AK-AIS is proven to hold the computing advantages on accuracy and efficiency in complex reliability and sensitivity analysis problems.

文摘The problem of adaptive detection in the situation of signal mismatch is considered; that is, the actual signal steering vector is not aligned with the nominal one. Two novel tunable detectors are proposed. They can control the degree to which the mismatched signals are rejected. Remarkably, it is found that they both cover existing famous detectors as their special cases. More importantly, they possess the constant false alarm rate(CFAR)property and achieve enhanced mismatched signal rejection or improved robustness than their natural competitors. Besides, they can provide slightly better matched signals detection performance than the existing detectors.

文摘The variable-structure multiple-model(VSMM)approach,one of the multiple-model(MM)methods,is a popular and effective approach in handling problems with mode uncertainties.The model sequence set adaptation(MSA)is the key to design a better VSMM.However,MSA methods in the literature have big room to improve both theoretically and practically.To this end,we propose a feedback structure based entropy approach that could fnd the model sequence sets with the smallest size under certain conditions.The fltered data are fed back in real time and can be used by the minimum entropy(ME)based VSMM algorithms,i.e.,MEVSMM.Firstly,the full Markov chains are used to achieve optimal solutions.Secondly,the myopic method together with particle flter(PF)and the challenge match algorithm are also used to achieve sub-optimal solutions,a trade-off between practicability and optimality.The numerical results show that the proposed algorithm provides not only refned model sets but also a good robustness margin and very high accuracy.
文摘An adaptive de-interlacing algorithm based on motion compensation is presented. It consists of the detection of motion blocks, the adaptive motion estimation with Kalman filtering, and the motion compensation for motion blocks and field repetition for static blocks. The detection of motion blocks can accurately identify the motion blocks by using successive 4-field images. The motion estimation module with Kalman filtering searches motion vectors only for motion blocks, and the search model is adaptive to motion velocity and acceleration. Two de-interlacing methods are adopted to satisfy the different requirements of motion blocks and static blocks. Compared with full search algorithm, the proposed algorithm greatly reduces the computational amount while keeping the performance approximately.
