The results clearly indicate that the operating efficiency of the MC-R/S algorithm is higher than that of the MC-V/S algorithm. In our numerical test, the computer time consumed by MC-V/S is approximately 25 times that by MC-R/S for an identical window size in artificial data. Except for the difference in operating efficiency, there are no significant differences in performance between MC-R/S and MC-V/S for the abrupt dynamic change detection. Mc-R/s and MC-V/S both display some degree of anti-noise ability. We evaluated the effects of the 2010 revision of the medical payment system on the length of stay (LOS). In this analysis, we assessed not only the average length of stay (ALOS), but also variance of LOS at individual...We evaluated the effects of the 2010 revision of the medical payment system on the length of stay (LOS). In this analysis, we assessed not only the average length of stay (ALOS), but also variance of LOS at individual hospitals. We used a dataset of 18,641 type 2 diabetes patients collected from 51 general hospitals. The variables found to affect LOS were age, comorbidities, complications, acute hospitalization, introduced by other hospitals, winter, one-week hospitalization, specific hospitalization period, and principal diseases coded E11.5, E11.6 and E11.7. Although the effect was marginal, the 2010 revision did reduce ALOS, and the reduction was larger as ALOS became longer. On the other hand, we did not find that the variance of LOS within hospitals became smaller. The results of the study suggest that new incentives and assistance to hospitals to help them make efficient use of medical information are needed.展开更多

It was also shown that, in situations with an ordinal scale and equal spacing quantitative grouping, a trend investigation could be done by contrast coefficients. For this purpose, a small part of the data from a TUBITAK project in the Soil Science Department, Agriculture Faculty, Kahramanmaras Sutcu Imam University, was used with permission. The soils were absorbed to natural zeolite in concentration of 0, 2.5, 5 and 10 mg/kg, and after two years, the available Zinc (Zn) amounts in the soil were analyzed. As a result, in both Dunnett's test and contrast methods, the Zn amounts in control and 2.5 mg/kg concentration groups were found similar (P 〉 0.01); but were different (P 〈 0.01) between control and 5 mg/kg concentration groups, and control and 10 mg/kg concentration groups. Furthermore, when orthogonal polynomial contrast coefficients were investigated, linear effects were found significant (P 〈 0.01) and cubic effects were obtained significant (P 〈 0.05), but quadratic effect was obtained insignificant (P 〉 0.05).展开更多

Their heat transfer performance is af- fected by many factors, and the form of the relationship between the performance and the factors is complex and non-linear. In this paper, the effects of charging ratio, inclination angle, and heat input and their interaction effects on heat transfer performance of a looped copper-water OHP are analyzed. First, suppose that the relationship between the response and the variables approximates a second-order model. And use the central composite design to arrange the ex- periment. Then, the method of least squares is used to estimate the parameters in the second-order model. Finally, multi- variate variance analysis is used to analyze the model. The results show that the assumption is right, that is to say, the re- lationship is well modeled by a second-order function. Among the three main effect variables, the effect of inclination angle is the most significant, but their interaction effects are not significant. In the range of the considered factors, both the optimum charging ratio and the optimum inclination angle increase as the heating water flow rate increases.展开更多

There are two main methods for assessing wind power: one ...Assessing wind energy is a key step in selecting a site for a wind farm. The accuracy of the assessment is essential for the future operation of the wind farm. There are two main methods for assessing wind power: one is based on observational data and the other relies on mesoscale numerical weather prediction(NWP). In this study, the wind power of the Liaoning coastal wind farm was evaluated using observations from an anemometer tower and simulations by the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF) model, to see whether the WRF model can produce a valid assessment of the wind power and whether the downscaling process can provide a better evaluation. The paper presents long-term wind data analysis in terms of annual, seasonal, and diurnal variations at the wind farm, which is located on the east coast of Liaoning Province. The results showed that, in spring and summer, the wind speed, wind direction, wind power density, and other main indicators were consistent between the two methods. However, the values of these parameters from the WRF model were significantly higher than the observations from the anemometer tower. Therefore, the causes of the differences between the two methods were further analyzed. There was much more deviation in the original material, National Centers for Environmental Prediction(NCEP) final(FNL) Operational Global Analysis data, in autumn and winter than in spring and summer. As the region is vulnerable to cold-air outbreaks and windy weather in autumn and winter, and the model usually forecasted stronger high or low systems with a longer duration, the predicted wind speed from the WRF model was too large.展开更多

The highly efficient electrochemical treatment technology for dye-polluted wastewater is one of hot research topics in industrial wastewater treatment.This study reported a three-dimensional electrochemical treatment ...The highly efficient electrochemical treatment technology for dye-polluted wastewater is one of hot research topics in industrial wastewater treatment.This study reported a three-dimensional electrochemical treatment process integrating graphite intercalation compound(GIC)adsorption,direct anodic oxidation,and·OH oxidation for decolourising Reactive Black 5(RB5)from aqueous solutions.The electrochemical process was optimised using the novel progressive central composite design-response surface methodology(CCD-NPRSM),hybrid artificial neural network-extreme gradient boosting(hybrid ANN-XGBoost),and classification and regression trees(CART).CCD-NPRSM and hybrid ANN-XGBoost were employed to minimise errors in evaluating the electrochemical process involving three manipulated operational parameters:current density,electrolysis(treatment)time,and initial dye concentration.The optimised decolourisation efficiencies were 99.30%,96.63%,and 99.14%for CCD-NPRSM,hybrid ANN-XGBoost,and CART,respectively,compared to the 98.46%RB5 removal rate observed experimentally under optimum conditions:approximately 20 mA/cm^(2) of current density,20 min of electrolysis time,and 65 mg/L of RB5.The optimised mineralisation efficiencies ranged between 89%and 92%for different models based on total organic carbon(TOC).Experimental studies confirmed that the predictive efficiency of optimised models ranked in the descending order of hybrid ANN-XGBoost,CCD-NPRSM,and CART.Model validation using analysis of variance(ANOVA)revealed that hybrid ANN-XGBoost had a mean squared error(MSE)and a coefficient of determination(R^(2))of approximately 0.014 and 0.998,respectively,for the RB5 removal efficiency,outperforming CCD-NPRSM with MSE and R^(2) of 0.518 and 0.998,respectively.Overall,the hybrid ANN-XGBoost approach is the most feasible technique for assessing the electrochemical treatment efficiency in RB5 dye wastewater decolourisation.展开更多

In order to understand the passengers’ boarding process and mitigate passenger boarding time, a regression analysis framework is proposed to capture the difference and influential factors of boarding time for adult and elderly passengers based on smart card data from Changzhou. Boarding gap, the time difference between two consecutive smart card tapping records, is calculated to approximate passenger boarding time. Analysis of variance is applied to identify whether the difference in boarding time between adults and seniors is statistically significant. The multivariate regression modeling approach is implemented to analyze the influences of passenger types, marginal effects of each additional boarding passenger and bus floor types on the total boarding time at each stop. Results show that a constant difference exists in boarding time between adults and seniors even without considering the specific bus characteristics. The average passenger boarding time decreases when the number of passenger increases. The existence of two entrance steps delays the boarding process, especially for elderly passengers.展开更多
Serpentine nozzles are widely used in combat aircraft to realize strong stealth characteristics.Based on the layout characteristics within a confined space,a series of double serpentine nozzles with spanwise offsets a...Serpentine nozzles are widely used in combat aircraft to realize strong stealth characteristics.Based on the layout characteristics within a confined space,a series of double serpentine nozzles with spanwise offsets are established.Using computational fluid dynamics and Taguchi method,the influence mechanisms of the Distribution of Area(DA),Distributions of Centerline for the first and second‘S’sections in the Vertical direction(DCV1 and DCV2),and Distribution of Centerline in the Spanwise direction(DCS)are analyzed.The impact of these factors on the total pressure recovery coefficient can be ranked as DA>DCV2>DCS>DCV1,whereas their impacts on the discharge coefficient and axial thrust coefficient can be ranked as DCV2>DCS>DA>DCV1.Considering the statistical significance of these factors,a nozzle in which DA changes rapidly at the exit and DCV1,DCV2,and DCS change rapidly at the entrance gives the best aerodynamic performance.Compared to the worst configuration,the total pressure recovery coefficient,discharge coefficient,and axial thrust coefficient are improved by 1.6%,3.5%and 3.6%,respectively.DA influences the gas flow acceleration in the entire serpentine channel,resulting in different wall shear stress and friction losses.The various centerline distributions influence the gas flow acceleration effects and form complex wave structures in the constantarea extension section,resulting in different local and friction losses.展开更多

Three control...In the stainless steel 304 (SUS 304) wire drawing process, optimizing the die life and wire tensile strength, which are the larger-the-better quality characteristics (QCH) types, is of main interest. Three control factors, involving reduction ratio, lubricant temperature, and drawing speed, were investigated utilizing L9(34) orthogonal array (OA). The grey relational analysis was conducted for the normalized signal-to-noise (S/N) ratios. The ordinal value of the grey grade was then used to decide optimal factor levels. The anticipated improvements in die life and wire tensile strength were estimated 25.31 h and 22.50 kg/mm2, respectively. To decide the significant factor which had effect on each QCH and predict the average value of each QCH, analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed for S/N ratio and QCH. Confirmation experiments were then conducted, where a good overlap was noticed between the predicted and confirnation intervals for each QCH. The Hotelling T2 and the sample generalized variance control charts were finally utilized in controlling and monitoring future production. In conclusion, the grey relational analysis utilizing Taguchi method is an effective approach for optimizing the die life and wire tensile strength for SUS wire drawing process. 2008 University of Science and Technology Beijing. BF's were analyzed for pH, total soluble solids (TSS), water holding capacity (WHC) and oil holding capacity (OHC) at 40℃, 60 ℃ and 80 ℃, color values L*, a* and b*, back extrusion force and viscosity. Physicochemical data were analyzed by Multivariate Analysis of Variance, discriminant analysis and cluster analysis. All statistical analyses showed that physicochemical properties of BF prepared from different variety and stage of ripeness were different from each other. Viscosity, WHC40, WHC60 and TSS were recommended methods for discrimination between banana flour prepared from the two varieties, whilst viscosity, WHC60 and WHC80 were suggested for differentiation of banana flour prepared using green and ripe banana.展开更多
Pearlitic ductile irons(PDIs)are used in transportation and nuclear energy industries.In heavy loading situation,the service life of PDI is affected by numerous tribo aspects.In this study,surface of the PDI is alloye...Pearlitic ductile irons(PDIs)are used in transportation and nuclear energy industries.In heavy loading situation,the service life of PDI is affected by numerous tribo aspects.In this study,surface of the PDI is alloyed with WC-12%Co powder using a high power fibre laser.The wear properties of the base material and laser alloying samples were investigated by tribometer with various parameters,i.e.,temperature,load and sliding speed.Based on experimental test,the load has maximum percentage of contribution and followed by sliding speed and working temperature.The optimized tribological parameters by Grey relational analysis(GRA)were established and those values are closely matched with predicted values.Besides,base material and laser alloying surfaces were examined through Vickers hardness machine,scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and roughness tester.The laser altered specimen shows no defects and improves the wear properties than substrates.The identified optimal tribological parameters are load of 30 N,speed of 0.5 m/s and working temperature of 300℃,and load of 30 N,speed of 0.5 m/s and working temperature of 200℃ for base metal and laser alloying samples,respectively.展开更多

The soils were absorbed to natural zeolite in concentration of 0, 2.5, 5 and 10 mg/kg, and after two years, the available Zinc (Zn) amounts in the soil were analyzed. As a result, in both Dunnett's test and contrast methods, the Zn amounts in control and 2.5 mg/kg concentration groups were found similar (P 〉 0.01); but were different (P 〈 0.01) between control and 5 mg/kg concentration groups, and control and 10 mg/kg concentration groups. Furthermore, when orthogonal polynomial contrast coefficients were investigated, linear effects were found significant (P 〈 0.01) and cubic effects were obtained significant (P 〈 0.05), but quadratic effect was obtained insignificant (P 〉 0.05).

文摘The article considers the impact of forestry machines on the soil of the cutting areas and presents the results of the impact of harvesters of different classes(middlesmall,middle and heavy)and configurations of wheeled equipment and additional equipment on the soil of the cutting areas in the conditions of Kronoberg County(South of Sweden).Methods to reduce negative impact of wheeled harvesters on the soil of forests are proposed.The aim of the research is to assess the effect of the structural parameters of the wheel harvesters of different class on the soil of the cutting areas.Wheeled harvesters were loaded with 60 kN force.The results of experimental studies of the impact of wheeled harvesters on the forest soil are presented.Recommendations on the possibility of testing the results of research in the conditions of the rental base of the Western part of the North-Western Federal District of the Russian Federation are given.

文摘Oscillating heat pipes (OHPs) are very promising cooling devices. Their heat transfer performance is af- fected by many factors, and the form of the relationship between the performance and the factors is complex and non-linear. In this paper, the effects of charging ratio, inclination angle, and heat input and their interaction effects on heat transfer performance of a looped copper-water OHP are analyzed. First, suppose that the relationship between the response and the variables approximates a second-order model. And use the central composite design to arrange the ex- periment. Then, the method of least squares is used to estimate the parameters in the second-order model. Finally, multi- variate variance analysis is used to analyze the model. The results show that the assumption is right, that is to say, the re- lationship is well modeled by a second-order function. Among the three main effect variables, the effect of inclination angle is the most significant, but their interaction effects are not significant. In the range of the considered factors, both the optimum charging ratio and the optimum inclination angle increase as the heating water flow rate increases.

文摘Assessing wind energy is a key step in selecting a site for a wind farm. The accuracy of the assessment is essential for the future operation of the wind farm. There are two main methods for assessing wind power: one is based on observational data and the other relies on mesoscale numerical weather prediction(NWP). In this study, the wind power of the Liaoning coastal wind farm was evaluated using observations from an anemometer tower and simulations by the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF) model, to see whether the WRF model can produce a valid assessment of the wind power and whether the downscaling process can provide a better evaluation. The paper presents long-term wind data analysis in terms of annual, seasonal, and diurnal variations at the wind farm, which is located on the east coast of Liaoning Province. The results showed that, in spring and summer, the wind speed, wind direction, wind power density, and other main indicators were consistent between the two methods. However, the values of these parameters from the WRF model were significantly higher than the observations from the anemometer tower. Therefore, the causes of the differences between the two methods were further analyzed. There was much more deviation in the original material, National Centers for Environmental Prediction(NCEP) final(FNL) Operational Global Analysis data, in autumn and winter than in spring and summer. As the region is vulnerable to cold-air outbreaks and windy weather in autumn and winter, and the model usually forecasted stronger high or low systems with a longer duration, the predicted wind speed from the WRF model was too large.

文摘[Objectives]The paper was to analyze the differences of genes and genome methylation between‘lane late’navel orange and it’s bud sport pumpkin-like navel orange,and to reveal the causes of bud sport.[Methods]Amplification fragment length polymorphism(AFLP)and methylation sensitive amplification polymorphism(MSAP)were used to analyze the differences in genes and genome methylation of‘lane late’navel orange and its bud sport pumpkin-like navel orange.[Results]Gene mutation occurred between the‘lane late’navel orange and its bud sport pumpkin-like navel orange.A total of 15 differential bands were obtained by AFLP markers,and the percentage of polymorphic bands was 6.0000%.Meantime,10 differential bands were obtained by MSAP markers,and the percentage of polymorphic bands was 5.4645%.The semimethylation rate and permethylation rate of‘lane late’navel orange were higher than that of pumpkin-like navel orange,that is,pumpkin-like navel orange had demethylation(demethylation ratio was 1.6393%).[Conclusions]It is proved at the DNA level that the emergence of bud sport pumpkin-like navel orange is due to gene mutation,and the DNA methylation level of the bud sport material has also changed.This study lays a foundation for further exploring the mechanism of bud sport.
文摘Ti-6Al-4V is a lightweight,extremely strong material with high resistance to corrosion and is widely used in aerospace industries,medical implants and many more.Contour cutting in such material with sharp corner radius,narrow kerf width,and maintaining high dimensional accuracy and surface integrity is a challenge for the modern manufacturing industry.Wire Electrical Discharge Machining(WEDM) is a feasible process to meet the above challenges.However,proper control of process parameters is highly necessary for quality cutting of such material.In order to meet the above challenges,the present work focuses on the optimum selection of different process parameters such as pulse-on time(T_(ON)),pulse-off time(T_(OFF)),spark gap voltage(SV) and wire feed rate(WF) using Taguchi-based Multi Response Signal to Noise ratio(MRSN) technique.This is a very simple multi response optimization technique to simultaneously optimize vital responses like thickness of white layer formed on the machined surfaces,average crack density,surface roughness and dimensional accuracy,without the assistance of any software.Moreover,simple regression models are developed to determine the above responses for any combination of process parameters.Industry personnel will find this study useful in utilizing this expensive non-conventional machining method in a techno-economic manner.
文摘The highly efficient electrochemical treatment technology for dye-polluted wastewater is one of hot research topics in industrial wastewater treatment.This study reported a three-dimensional electrochemical treatment process integrating graphite intercalation compound(GIC)adsorption,direct anodic oxidation,and·OH oxidation for decolourising Reactive Black 5(RB5)from aqueous solutions.The electrochemical process was optimised using the novel progressive central composite design-response surface methodology(CCD-NPRSM),hybrid artificial neural network-extreme gradient boosting(hybrid ANN-XGBoost),and classification and regression trees(CART).CCD-NPRSM and hybrid ANN-XGBoost were employed to minimise errors in evaluating the electrochemical process involving three manipulated operational parameters:current density,electrolysis(treatment)time,and initial dye concentration.The optimised decolourisation efficiencies were 99.30%,96.63%,and 99.14%for CCD-NPRSM,hybrid ANN-XGBoost,and CART,respectively,compared to the 98.46%RB5 removal rate observed experimentally under optimum conditions:approximately 20 mA/cm^(2) of current density,20 min of electrolysis time,and 65 mg/L of RB5.The optimised mineralisation efficiencies ranged between 89%and 92%for different models based on total organic carbon(TOC).Experimental studies confirmed that the predictive efficiency of optimised models ranked in the descending order of hybrid ANN-XGBoost,CCD-NPRSM,and CART.Model validation using analysis of variance(ANOVA)revealed that hybrid ANN-XGBoost had a mean squared error(MSE)and a coefficient of determination(R^(2))of approximately 0.014 and 0.998,respectively,for the RB5 removal efficiency,outperforming CCD-NPRSM with MSE and R^(2) of 0.518 and 0.998,respectively.Overall,the hybrid ANN-XGBoost approach is the most feasible technique for assessing the electrochemical treatment efficiency in RB5 dye wastewater decolourisation.

文摘As an essential component of bus dwelling time, passenger boarding time has a significant impact on bus running reliability and service quality. In order to understand the passengers’ boarding process and mitigate passenger boarding time, a regression analysis framework is proposed to capture the difference and influential factors of boarding time for adult and elderly passengers based on smart card data from Changzhou. Boarding gap, the time difference between two consecutive smart card tapping records, is calculated to approximate passenger boarding time. Analysis of variance is applied to identify whether the difference in boarding time between adults and seniors is statistically significant. The multivariate regression modeling approach is implemented to analyze the influences of passenger types, marginal effects of each additional boarding passenger and bus floor types on the total boarding time at each stop. Results show that a constant difference exists in boarding time between adults and seniors even without considering the specific bus characteristics. The average passenger boarding time decreases when the number of passenger increases. The existence of two entrance steps delays the boarding process, especially for elderly passengers.

文摘Serpentine nozzles are widely used in combat aircraft to realize strong stealth characteristics.Based on the layout characteristics within a confined space,a series of double serpentine nozzles with spanwise offsets are established.Using computational fluid dynamics and Taguchi method,the influence mechanisms of the Distribution of Area(DA),Distributions of Centerline for the first and second‘S’sections in the Vertical direction(DCV1 and DCV2),and Distribution of Centerline in the Spanwise direction(DCS)are analyzed.The impact of these factors on the total pressure recovery coefficient can be ranked as DA>DCV2>DCS>DCV1,whereas their impacts on the discharge coefficient and axial thrust coefficient can be ranked as DCV2>DCS>DA>DCV1.Considering the statistical significance of these factors,a nozzle in which DA changes rapidly at the exit and DCV1,DCV2,and DCS change rapidly at the entrance gives the best aerodynamic performance.Compared to the worst configuration,the total pressure recovery coefficient,discharge coefficient,and axial thrust coefficient are improved by 1.6%,3.5%and 3.6%,respectively.DA influences the gas flow acceleration in the entire serpentine channel,resulting in different wall shear stress and friction losses.The various centerline distributions influence the gas flow acceleration effects and form complex wave structures in the constantarea extension section,resulting in different local and friction losses.
文摘In the stainless steel 304 (SUS 304) wire drawing process, optimizing the die life and wire tensile strength, which are the larger-the-better quality characteristics (QCH) types, is of main interest. Three control factors, involving reduction ratio, lubricant temperature, and drawing speed, were investigated utilizing L9(34) orthogonal array (OA). The grey relational analysis was conducted for the normalized signal-to-noise (S/N) ratios. The ordinal value of the grey grade was then used to decide optimal factor levels. The anticipated improvements in die life and wire tensile strength were estimated 25.31 h and 22.50 kg/mm2, respectively. To decide the significant factor which had effect on each QCH and predict the average value of each QCH, analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed for S/N ratio and QCH. Confirmation experiments were then conducted, where a good overlap was noticed between the predicted and confirnation intervals for each QCH. The Hotelling T2 and the sample generalized variance control charts were finally utilized in controlling and monitoring future production. In conclusion, the grey relational analysis utilizing Taguchi method is an effective approach for optimizing the die life and wire tensile strength for SUS wire drawing process. 2008 University of Science and Technology Beijing. 文摘Bistatic forward-looking synthetic aperture radar(SAR) has many advantages and applications owing to its twodimensional imaging capability.There could be various imaging configurations because of the geometric flexibility of bistatic platforms,resulting in kinds of models built independently among which there could be some similar even the same motion features.Comprehensive research on such systems in a more comprehensive and general point of view is required to address their difference and consistency.Property analysis of bistatic forwardlooking SAR with arbitrary geometry is achieved including stripmap and spotlight modes on airborne platform,missile-borne platform,and hybrid platform of both.Emphasis is placed on azimuth space variance of some key parameters significantly affecting the subsequent imaging processing,based on which the frequency spectra are further described and compared considering respective features of different platforms for frequency imaging algorithm developing.Simulation results confirm the effectiveness and correctness of our analysis.
文摘Physicochemical properties of banana flour (BF) were studied in two varieties (Cavendish and Dream) and two stages of ripeness (green and ripe). BF's were analyzed for pH, total soluble solids (TSS), water holding capacity (WHC) and oil holding capacity (OHC) at 40℃, 60 ℃ and 80 ℃, color values L*, a* and b*, back extrusion force and viscosity. Physicochemical data were analyzed by Multivariate Analysis of Variance, discriminant analysis and cluster analysis. All statistical analyses showed that physicochemical properties of BF prepared from different variety and stage of ripeness were different from each other. Viscosity, WHC40, WHC60 and TSS were recommended methods for discrimination between banana flour prepared from the two varieties, whilst viscosity, WHC60 and WHC80 were suggested for differentiation of banana flour prepared using green and ripe banana.
文摘Pearlitic ductile irons(PDIs)are used in transportation and nuclear energy industries.In heavy loading situation,the service life of PDI is affected by numerous tribo aspects.In this study,surface of the PDI is alloyed with WC-12%Co powder using a high power fibre laser.The wear properties of the base material and laser alloying samples were investigated by tribometer with various parameters,i.e.,temperature,load and sliding speed.Based on experimental test,the load has maximum percentage of contribution and followed by sliding speed and working temperature.The optimized tribological parameters by Grey relational analysis(GRA)were established and those values are closely matched with predicted values.Besides,base material and laser alloying surfaces were examined through Vickers hardness machine,scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and roughness tester.The laser altered specimen shows no defects and improves the wear properties than substrates.The identified optimal tribological parameters are load of 30 N,speed of 0.5 m/s and working temperature of 300℃,and load of 30 N,speed of 0.5 m/s and working temperature of 200℃ for base metal and laser alloying samples,respectively.
