An Adaptive Cooperated Shuffled Frog-Leaping Algorithm for Parallel Batch Processing Machines Scheduling in Fabric Dyeing Processes

Fabric dyeing is a critical production process in the clothing industry and heavily relies on batch processing machines(BPM).In this study,the parallel BPM scheduling problem with machine eligibility in fabric dyeing is considered,and an adaptive cooperated shuffled frog-leaping algorithm(ACSFLA)is proposed to minimize makespan and total tardiness simultaneously.ACSFLA determines the search times for each memeplex based on its quality,with more searches in high-quality memeplexes.An adaptive cooperated and diversified search mechanism is applied,dynamically adjusting search strategies for each memeplex based on their dominance relationships and quality.During the cooperated search,ACSFLA uses a segmented and dynamic targeted search approach,while in non-cooperated scenarios,the search focuses on local search around superior solutions to improve efficiency.Furthermore,ACSFLA employs adaptive population division and partial population shuffling strategies.Through these strategies,memeplexes with low evolutionary potential are selected for reconstruction in the next generation,while thosewithhighevolutionarypotential are retained to continue their evolution.Toevaluate the performance of ACSFLA,comparative experiments were conducted using ACSFLA,SFLA,ASFLA,MOABC,and NSGA-CC in 90 instances.The computational results reveal that ACSFLA outperforms the other algorithms in 78 of the 90 test cases,highlighting its advantages in solving the parallel BPM scheduling problem with machine eligibility. 展开更多

As a complicated optimization problem,parallel batch processing machines scheduling problem(PBPMSP)exists in many real-life manufacturing industries such as textiles and semiconductors.Machine eligibility means that at least one machine is not eligible for at least one job.PBPMSP and scheduling problems with machine eligibility are frequently considered;however,PBPMSP with machine eligibility is seldom explored.This study investigates PBPMSP with machine eligibility in fabric dyeing and presents a novel shuffled frog-leaping algorithm with competition(CSFLA)to minimize makespan.In CSFLA,the initial population is produced in a heuristic and random way,and the competitive search of memeplexes comprises two phases.Competition between any two memeplexes is done in the first phase,then iteration times are adjusted based on competition,and search strategies are adjusted adaptively based on the evolution quality of memeplexes in the second phase.An adaptive population shuffling is given.Computational experiments are conducted on 100 instances.The computational results showed that the new strategies of CSFLA are effective and that CSFLA has promising advantages in solving the considered PBPMSP. 展开更多

Optimization of the process parameters is conducted using the genetic algorithm (GA). The experimental results have shown that a surface model of the neural network can describe the nonlinear implicit relationship between the parameters of the power spinning process:the wall margin and amount of expansion. It has been found that the process of determining spinning technological parameters can be accelerated using the optimization method developed based on the BP neural network and the genetic algorithm used for the process parameters of power spinning formation. Being manipulated in the Radon space to invert the gray-level and binary images, the linear texture of ship wake in oceanic clutter can be well detected. It has been applied to the automatic detection of a moving ship from the SEASAT SAR image. The results show that this algorithm is well robust in a strong noisy background and is not very sensitive to the threshold parameter and the working window size. 展开更多

In this paper, a set of software classification method based on software operating characteristics is proposed. The method uses software run-time resource consumption to describe the software running characteristics. Firstly, principal component analysis (PCA) is used to reduce the dimension of software running feature data and to interpret software characteristic information. Then the modified K-means algorithm was used to classify the meteorological data processing software. Finally, it combined with the results of principal component analysis to explain the significance of various types of integrated software operating characteristics. Reaction process optimization based on interpretable machine learning and metaheuristic optimization algorithms

The optimization of reaction processes is crucial for the green, efficient, and sustainable development of the chemical industry. However, how to address the problems posed by multiple variables, nonlinearities, and uncertainties during optimization remains a formidable challenge. In this study, a strategy combining interpretable machine learning with metaheuristic optimization algorithms is employed to optimize the reaction process. First, experimental data from a biodiesel production process are collected to establish a database. These data are then used to construct a predictive model based on artificial neural network (ANN) models. Subsequently, interpretable machine learning techniques are applied for quantitative analysis and verification of the model. Finally, four metaheuristic optimization algorithms are coupled with the ANN model to achieve the desired optimization. The research results show that the methanol: palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD) molar ratio contributes the most to the reaction outcome, accounting for 41%. The ANN-simulated annealing (SA) hybrid method is more suitable for this optimization, and the optimal process parameters are a catalyst concentration of 3.00% (mass), a methanol: PFAD molar ratio of 8.67, and a reaction time of 30 min. This study provides deeper insights into reaction process optimization, which will facilitate future applications in various reaction optimization processes. 展开更多

To solve the problems of deformation,micro-cracks,and residual tensile stress in laser cladding coatings,the technique of laser cladding with Fe-based memory alloy can be considered.However,the process of in-situ synthesis of Fe-based memory alloy coatings is extremely complex.At present,there is no clear guidance scheme for its preparation process,which limits its promotion and application to some extent.Therefore,in this study,response surface methodology(RSM)was used to model the response surface between the target values and the cladding process parameters.The NSGA-2 algorithm was employed to optimize the process parameters.The results indicate that the composite optimization method consisting of RSM and the NSGA-2 algorithm can establish a more accurate model,with an error of less than 4.5%between the predicted and actual values.Based on this established model,the optimal scheme for process parameters corresponding to different target results can be rapidly obtained.The prepared coating exhibits a uniform structure,with no defects such as pores,cracks,and deformation.The surface roughness and microhardness of the coating are enhanced,the shaping quality of the coating is effectively improved,and the electrochemical corrosion performance of the coating in 3.5%NaCl solution is obviously better than that of the substrate,providing an important guide for engineering applications. 展开更多

The segmentation started at the lowest resolution with the FCM clustering algorithm and the texture feature extracted from various sub-bands. In the manufacturing industry,reasonable scheduling can greatly improve production efficiency,while excessive resource consumption highlights the growing significance of energy conservation in production.This paper studies the problem of energy-efficient distributed heterogeneous permutation flowshop problem with variable processing speed(DHPFSP-VPS),considering both the minimum makespan and total energy consumption(TEC)as objectives.A discrete multi-objective squirrel search algorithm(DMSSA)is proposed to solve the DHPFSPVPS.DMSSA makes four improvements based on the squirrel search algorithm.Firstly,in terms of the population initialization strategy,four hybrid initialization methods targeting different objectives are proposed to enhance the quality of initial solutions.Secondly,enhancements are made to the population hierarchy system and position updating methods of the squirrel search algorithm,making it more suitable for discrete scheduling problems.Additionally,regarding the search strategy,six local searches are designed based on problem characteristics to enhance search capability.Moreover,a dynamic predator strategy based on Q-learning is devised to effectively balance DMSSA’s capability for global exploration and local exploitation.Finally,two speed control energy-efficient strategies are designed to reduce TEC.Extensive comparative experiments are conducted in this paper to validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategies.The results of comparing DMSSA with other algorithms demonstrate its superior performance and its potential for efficient solving of the DHPFSP-VPS problem. 展开更多

Unstructured and irregular graph data causes strong randomness and poor locality of data accesses in graph processing.This paper optimizes the depth-branch-resorting algorithm(DBR),and proposes a branch-alternation-resorting algorithm(BAR).In order to make the algorithm run in parallel and improve the efficiency of algorithm operation,the BAR algorithm is mapped onto the reconfigurable array processor(APR-16)to achieve vertex reordering,effectively improving the locality of graph data.This paper validates the BAR algorithm on the GraphBIG framework,by utilizing the reordered dataset with BAR on breadth-first search(BFS),single source shortest paht(SSSP)and betweenness centrality(BC)algorithms for traversal.The results show that compared with DBR and Corder algorithms,BAR can reduce execution time by up to 33.00%,and 51.00%seperatively.In terms of data movement,the BAR algorithm has a maximum reduction of 39.00%compared with the DBR algorithm and 29.66%compared with Corder algorithm.In terms of computational complexity,the BAR algorithm has a maximum reduction of 32.56%compared with DBR algorithm and53.05%compared with Corder algorithm. 展开更多

The paper shows a computational implementation of FDK algorithm and the process of parallelization of this implementation. Compare the parallel version of the algorithm with the sequential version, used speedup as a performance metric. High pressure die casting (HPDC) is a versatile material processing method for mass-production of metal parts with complex geometries,and this method has been widely used in manufacturing various products of excellent dimensional accuracy and productivity. In order to ensure the quality of the components,a number of variables need to be properly set. A novel methodology for high pressure die casting process optimization was developed,validated and applied to selection of optimal parameters,which incorporate design of experiment (DOE),Gaussian process (GP) regression technique and genetic algorithms (GA). This new approach was applied to process optimization for cast magnesium alloy notebook shell. After being trained,using data generated by PROCAST (FEM-based simulation software),the GP model approximated well with the simulation by extracting useful information from the simulation results. With the help of MATLAB,the GP/GA based approach has achieved the optimum solution of die casting process condition settings. 展开更多

Standard genetic algorithms (SGAs) are investigated to optimise discrete-time proportional-integral-derivative (PID) con- troller parameters, by three tuning approaches, for a multivariable glass furnace process with loop interaction. Initially, standard genetic algorithms (SGAs) are used to identify control oriented models of the plant which are subsequently used for controller optimisa- tion. An individual tuning approach without loop interaction is considered first to categorise the genetic operators, cost functions and improve searching boundaries to attain the desired performance criteria. The second tuning approach considers controller parameters optimisation with loop interaction and individual cost functions. While, the third tuning approach utilises a modified cost function which includes the total effect of both controlled variables, glass temperature and excess oxygen. This modified cost function is shown to exhibit improved control robustness and disturbance rejection under loop interaction. 展开更多
