An analytical model is presented such that the wave fields are expanded in all of propagating and evanescent SH modes and Lamb modes, and the scattered far-fields of three fundamental guided wave modes are analyzed numerically for different sizes of the holes and frequencies. The numerical results are verified by comparing with those obtained by using the approximate Poisson/Mindlin plate model for small hole radius and low frequency. It is also found that the scattering patterns are different from those of the SO wave incidence. Our work is useful for quantitative evaluation of the plate-like structure by ultrasonic guided waves.展开更多

The free-field response of the layered half-space is calculated by the direct stiffness method, and dynamic Green's functions of moving distributed loads acting on inclined lines in a layered half-space are calculated to simulate the scattering wave field. The presented method yields very accurate results since the three-dimensional dynamic stiffness matrix is exact and the moving distributed loads can act directly on the valley boundary without singularity. The validations of accuracy and efficiency show that this method can solve 3-D seismic response of a large-scale hill topography for broadband waves, and overcome the weakness of large storage and low efficiency of the traditional IBEM. Based on this new algorithm architecture, taking the broadband scattering of plane SV waves by a large-scale Gaussian-shaped hill of thousands-meters height as an example, the influence of several important parameters is investigated, including the incident frequency, the incident angle and the height-width and length-width ratio of the hill. The numerical results illustrate that the amplification effect on the ground motion by a near-hemispherical hill is more significant than the narrow hill. For low-frequency waves, the scattering effect of the higher hill is more pronounced, and there is only a single peak near the top of the hill. However, for high-frequency waves, rapid spatial variation of displacement amplitude appears on the hill surface.展开更多

文摘Deep learning methods have achieved significant progress in solving partial differential equations. However, when applied to the widely used anisotropic scattering neutron transport equations in reactor engineering, these encounter significant challenges. To address this issue, this study introduces a multi-antiderivative transformation alternating iterative deep learning method(M-AIM).This method transforms the integral terms of the scattering and fission sources in the transport equation into multiple antiderivative functions corresponding to the integrand, converts the differential-integral form of the transport equation into an exact differential equation, and establishes the necessary constraints for a unique solution. The M-AIM uses multiple deep neural networks to map the unknown angular flux density of transport equations and represents various forms of antiderivative functions. It constructs the corresponding weighted loss functions.By alternating iterative training with deep learning methods applied to these neural networks, the loss is reduced gradually. When the loss decreases to a preset minimum, the neural network approaches a numerical solution for both angular flux density and antiderivative functions. This paper presents a numerical verification of geometries such as flat plates and spheres. It verifies the validity of the theoretical framework and associated methods. The study contributes to the development of novel technical approaches for applying deep learning to solve anisotropic scattering neutron transport equations in reactor engineering.

文摘Small angle x-ray scattering(SAXS)is an advanced technique for characterizing the particle size distribution(PSD)of nanoparticles. However, the ill-posed nature of inverse problems in SAXS data analysis often reduces the accuracy of conventional methods. This article proposes a user-friendly software for PSD analysis,GranuSAS,which employs an algorithm that integrates truncated singular value decomposition(TSVD)with the Chahine method. This approach employs TSVD for data preprocessing, generating a set of initial solutions with noise suppression.A high-quality initial solution is subsequently selected via the L-curve method. This selected candidate solution is then iteratively refined by the Chahine algorithm, enforcing constraints such as non-negativity and improving physical interpretability. Most importantly,GranuSAS employs a parallel architecture that simultaneously yields inversion results from multiple shape models and,by evaluating the accuracy of each model's reconstructed scattering curve, offers a suggestion for model selection in material systems. To systematically validate the accuracy and efficiency of the software, verification was performed using both simulated and experimental datasets. The results demonstrate that the proposed software delivers both satisfactory accuracy and reliable computational efficiency. It provides an easy-to-use and reliable tool for researchers in materials science, helping them fully exploit the potential of SAXS in nanoparticle characterization.

文摘According to the Mindlin plate theory and the first-order piston theory, this work obtains accurate closed-form eigensolutions for the flutter problem of three-dimensional(3D)rectangular laminated panels. The governing differential equations are derived by the Hamilton's variational principle, and then solved by the iterative Separation-of-Variable(i SOV)method, which are applicable to arbitrary combinations of homogeneous Boundary Conditions(BCs).However, only the simply-support,clamped and cantilever panels are considered in this work for the sake of clarity. With the closed-form eigensolutions, the flutter frequency, flutter mode and flutter boundary are presented, and the effect of shear deformation and aerodynamic damping on flutter frequencies is investigated.Besides, the relation between panel energy and the work of aerodynamic load is discussed. The numerical comparisons reveal the following.(A)The flutter eigenvalues obtained by the present method are accurate, validated by the Finite Element Method(FEM)and the Galerkin method.(B)When the span-chord ratio is larger than 3,simplifying a 3D panel to 2D(two-dimensional)panel is reasonable and the relative differences of the flutter points predicted by the two models are less than one percent.(C)The reciprocal relationship between the mechanical energy of the panel and the work done by aerodynamic load is verified by using the present flutter eigenvalues and modes, further indicating the high accuracy of the present solutions.(D)The coupling of shear deformation and aerodynamic damping prevents frequency coalescing.

文摘The quasi-monochromatic,continuously energy-tunable,and high-brightness gamma rays that are produced by an inverse Compton scattering(ICS)light source provide an ideal probe for gamma-ray imaging. However, owing to the influence of the intrinsic energy-angle correlation spectrum of this type of light source, monochromatic computed tomography(CT),especially in the gamma-ray energy region, can only be realized in a low-efficiency manner, similar to first-generation CT.A dual-energy scan scheme with a large imaging field of view(FOV)was developed in this study to improve the imaging efficiency. The effectiveness of this scheme was demonstrated based on the beam parameters of a typical ICS light source using Monte Carlo simulations.By leveraging the principle of basis material decomposition, the influence of the energyangle correlation spectrum on CT reconstruction was corrected, and a monochromatic CT image of the imaging object was accurately reconstructed.Furthermore, the electron density and effective atomic number of the imaging object could be obtained simultaneously.

文摘In this paper, we consider the inverse scattering problem of reconstructing a bounded obstacle in a three-dimensional planar waveguide from the scattered near-field data measured on a finite cylindrical surface containing the obstacle and corresponding to infinitely many incident point sources also placed on the measurement surface. The obstacle is allowed to be an impenetrable scatterer or a penetrable scatterer. We establish the validity of the factorization method with the nearfield data to characterize the obstacle in the planar waveguide by constructing an outgoing-to-incoming operator which is an integral operator defined on the measurement surface with the kernel given in terms of an infinite series.
文摘Based on the previous researches on scattering theory, a model of single and multiple scattering in a three-dimensional infinite medium with non-zero hypocentral distance is proposed in this paper. According to the assumptionof three-dimensional medium with numerous, statistically isotropic and uniformly distributed scatterers, we obtain the analytic form of power spectrum of coda waves for single scattering and the integral form of power spectrum of coda waves for multiple scattering.

文摘To solve seismic wave scattering by a large-scale three-dimensional(3-D) hill topography, a fast parallel indirect boundary element method(IBEM) is developed by proposing a new construction method for the wave field, modifying the generalized minimum residual(GMRES) algorithm and constructing an Open MP plus MPI parallel model. However, for high-frequency waves, rapid spatial variation of displacement amplitude appears on the hill surface.

文摘In this study,we report the design and simulation of an electrostatic ion lens system consisting of 22 round metal plates. The opening of the extractor plate is covered withmetal mesh, which is for shielding the interaction region of the lens system from the high DC voltages applied to all other plates than the repeller and extractor plates. The Simion simulation shows that both velocity-mapping and time focusing can be achieved simultaneously when appropriate voltages are applied to each of the plates. This makes the ion lens system be able to focus large ionic volumes in all three dimensions, which is an essential requirement for crossed ion-molecule scattering studies.A three-dimensional ion velocity measurement system with multi-hit and potential multi-mass capability is built, which consists of a microchannel plate(MCP),a P47 phosphor screen,a CMOS camera,a fast photomultiplier tube(PMT),and a high-speed digitizer. The two velocity components perpendicular to the flight axis are measured by the CMOS camera, and the time-of-flight,from which the velocity component along the flight axis can be deduced,is measured by the PMT.A Labview program is written to combine the two measurements for building the full three-dimensional ion velocity in real time on a frame-by-frame basis. The multi-hit capability comes from the fact that multiple ions from the camera and PMT in the same frame can be correlated with each other based on their various intensities. We demonstrate this by using the photodissociation of CH31 at 304 nm.

文摘Based on the practical situation of nondestructive examination, the calculation model of the composite scattering is established by using a three-dimensional half-space finite difference time domain, and the Monte Carlo method is used to solve the problem of the optical surface with roughness in the proposed scheme. Moreover, the defect particles are observed as periodic particles for a more complex situation. In order to obtain the scattering contribution of defects inside the optical surface, a difference radar cross section is added into the model to analyze the selected calculations on the effects of numbers, separation distances, different depths and different materials of defects. The effects of different incident angles are also discussed. The numerical results are analyzed in detail to demonstrate the best position to find the defects in the optical surface by detecting in steps of a fixed degree for the incident angle.

文摘Topological insulators as a new type of quantum matter materials are characterized by a full insulating gap in the bulk and gapless edge/surface states protected by the time-reversal symmetry. We propose that the interference patterns caused by the elastic scattering of defects or impurities are dominated by the surface states at the extremal points on the constant energy contour. Within such a formalism, we summarize our recent theoretical investigations on the elastic scattering of topological surface states by various imperfections, including non-magnetic impurities, magnetic impurities, step edges, and various other defects, in comparison with the recent related experiments in typical topological materials such as BiSb alloys, Bi2Te3, and Bi2Se3 crystals.
