First, FERM was introduced to identify various causal factors and their performance changes in hazardous chemical operational accidents, along with determining the functional failure link relationships. Subsequently, FERM was employed to elucidate both qualitative and quantitative operational accident information within a unified framework, which could be regarded as the input of information fusion to obtain the fuzzy belief distribution of each cause factor. Finally, the derived risk values of the causal factors were ranked while constructing multi-level accident causation chains to unveil the weak links in system functionality and the primary roots of operational accidents. Using the specific case of the “1·15” major explosion and fire accident at Liaoning Panjin Haoye Chemical Co., Ltd., seven causal factors and their corresponding performance changes were identified. Additionally, five accident causation chains were uncovered based on the fuzzy joint distribution of the functional assessment level(FAL) and reliability distribution(RD),revealing an overall increase in risk along the accident evolution path. The research findings demonstrated that FERM enabled the effective characterization, rational quantification and accurate analysis of the inherent uncertainties in hazardous chemical operational accident risks from a systemic perspective.展开更多

A mathematical model depicting the dynamics close to that of the system is very much required for such a test bed. In this correspondence, the complete nonlinear model, a simplified nonlinear model, and a linearized model of the ball and plate system are developed. The system comprises a ball and plate mechanism and a rotary servo unit. The ball and plate mechanism is modelled using the Euler–Lagrange method, whereas the rotary servo subsystem is modelled from the first principles. The nonlinear model of the combined system is developed by including the dynamics of the servo motor with gear and rolling resistance between the ball and the plate. The simplified nonlinear model of the system is obtained with suitable assumptions. The model is linearized around the operating point using the Jacobian. The validity of the developed models is investigated through correlation function analysis. The open-loop response of the three models, viz., nonlinear, simplified nonlinear, and linearized models, is analyzed in the MATLAB/Simulink platform. Since the open-loop system is unstable, the experimental validation of the model is performed with a double-loop PSO (particle swarm optimization) PID control scheme.展开更多

文摘Objective Humans are exposed to complex mixtures of environmental chemicals and other factors that can affect their health.Analysis of these mixture exposures presents several key challenges for environmental epidemiology and risk assessment, including high dimensionality, correlated exposure, and subtle individual effects. Methods We proposed a novel statistical approach, the generalized functional linear model(GFLM),to analyze the health effects of exposure mixtures.GFLM treats the effect of mixture exposures as a smooth function by reordering exposures based on specific mechanisms and capturing internal correlations to provide a meaningful estimation and interpretation. The robustness and efficiency was evaluated under various scenarios through extensive simulation studies. Results We applied the GFLM to two datasets from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(NHANES).In the first application,we examined the effects of 37 nutrients on BMI(2011–2016 cycles). The GFLM identified a significant mixture effect, with fiber and fat emerging as the nutrients with the greatest negative and positive effects on BMI,respectively. For the second application,we investigated the association between four pre-and perfluoroalkyl substances(PFAS)and gout risk(2007–2018 cycles).Unlike traditional methods, the GFLM indicated no significant association, demonstrating its robustness to multicollinearity. Conclusion GFLM framework is a powerful tool for mixture exposure analysis, offering improved handling of correlated exposures and interpretable results. It demonstrates robust performance across various scenarios and real-world applications, advancing our understanding of complex environmental exposures and their health impacts on environmental epidemiology and toxicology.

文摘BACKGROUND Research has shown that several factors can influence postoperative abnormal liver function;however, most studies on this issue have focused specifically on hepatic and cardiac surgeries, leaving limited research on contributing factors in other types of surgeries.AIM To identify the risk factors for early postoperative abnormal liver function in multiple surgery types and construct a risk prediction model.METHODS This retrospective cohort study involved 3720 surgical patients from 5 surgical departments at Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Patients were divided into abnormal(n=108)and normal(n=3612)groups based on liver function post-surgery.Univariate analysis and LASSO regression screened variables, followed by logistic regression to identify risk factors.A prediction model was constructed based on the variables selected via logistic re-gression.The goodness-of-fit of the model was evaluated using the Hosm-er–Lemeshow test, while discriminatory ability was measured by the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve.Calibration curves were plotted to visualize the consistency between predicted probabilities and observed outcomes.RESULTS The key factors contributing to abnormal liver function after surgery include elevated aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase levels and reduced platelet counts pre-surgery,as well as the sevoflurane use during the procedure, among others.CONCLUSION The above factors collectively represent notable risk factors for postoperative liver function injury, and the prediction model developed based on these factors demonstrates strong predictive efficacy.

文摘This paper proposed a new systematic approach-functional evidential reasoning model(FERM) for exploring hazardous chemical operational accidents under uncertainty. The research findings demonstrated that FERM enabled the effective characterization, rational quantification and accurate analysis of the inherent uncertainties in hazardous chemical operational accident risks from a systemic perspective.

文摘We employed random distributions and gradient descent methods for the Generator Coordinate Method(GCM)to identify effective basis wave functions, taking halo nuclei ^(6)He and ^(6)Li as examples.By comparing the ground state(0^(+))energy of ^(6)He and the excited state(0^(+))energy of 6 Li calculated with various random distributions and manually selected generation coordinates,we found that the heavy tail characteristic of the logistic distribution better describes the features of the halo nuclei.Subsequently, the Adam algorithm from machine learning was applied to optimize the basis wave functions, indicating that a limited number of basis wave functions can approximate the converged values. These results offer some empirical insights for selecting basis wave functions and contribute to the broader application of machine learning methods in predicting effective basis wave functions.

文摘Based on the Timoshenko beam theory, this paper proposes a nonlocal bi-gyroscopic model for spinning functionally graded(FG)nanotubes conveying fluid, and the thermal–mechanical vibration and stability of such composite nanostructures under small scale, rotor, and temperature coupling effects are investigated. The nanotube is composed of functionally graded materials(FGMs),and different volume fraction functions are utilized to control the distribution of material properties.Eringen’s nonlocal elasticity theory and Hamilton’s principle are applied for dynamical modeling, and the forward and backward precession frequencies as well as 3D mode configurations of the nanotube are obtained.By conducting dimensionless analysis,it is found that compared to the Timoshenko nano-beam model, the conventional Euler–Bernoulli(E-B)model holds the same flutter frequency in the supercritical region, while it usually overestimates the higher-order precession frequencies. The nonlocal, thermal, and flowing effects all can lead to buckling or different kinds of coupled flutter in the system. The material distribution of the P-type FGM nanotube can also induce coupled flutter, while that of the S-type FGM nanotube has no impact on the stability of the system. This paper is expected to provide a theoretical foundation for the design of motional composite nanodevices.

文摘The numerical simulation of the fluid flow and the flexible rod(s)interaction is more complicated and has lower efficiency due to the high computational cost.In this paper,a semi-resolved model coupling the computational fluid dynamics and the flexible rod dynamics is proposed using a two-way domain expansion method. The gov-erning equations of the flexible rod dynamics are discretized and solved by the finite element method, and the fluid flow is simulated by the finite volume method. The interaction between fluids and solid rods is modeled by introducing body force terms into the momentum equations.Referred to the traditional semi-resolved numerical model,an anisotropic Gaussian kernel function method is proposed to specify the interactive forces between flu-ids and solid bodies for non-circle rod cross-sections.A benchmark of the flow passing around a single flexible plate with a rectangular cross-section is used to validate the algorithm.Focused on the engineering applications,a test case of a finite patch of cylinders is implemented to validate the accuracy and efficiency of the coupled model.

文摘This paper extends the one-dimensional(1D)nonlocal strain gradient integral model(NStraGIM)to the two-dimensional(2D)Kirchhoff axisymmetric nanoplates, based on nonlocal strain gradient integral relations formulated along both the radial and circumferential directions.By transforming the proposed integral constitutive equations into the equivalent differential forms, complemented by the corresponding constitutive boundary conditions(CBCs),a well-posed mathematical formulation is established for analyzing the axisymmetric bending and buckling of annular/circular functionally graded(FG)sandwich nanoplates. The boundary conditions at the inner edge of a solid nanoplate are derived by L'H?spital's rule. The numerical solution is obtained by the generalized differential quadrature method(GDQM).The accuracy of the proposed model is validated through comparison with the data from the existing literature.A parameter study is conducted to demonstrate the effects of FG sandwich parameters, size parameters, and nonlocal gradient parameters.

文摘Bedding structural planes significantly influence the mechanical properties and stability of engineering rock masses. This study conducts uniaxial compression tests on layered sandstone with various bedding angles(0°,15°,30°,45°,60°,75°and 90°)to explore the impact of bedding angle on the deformational mechanical response, failure mode, and damage evolution processes of rocks. It develops a damage model based on the Logistic equation derived from the modulus’s degradation considering the combined effect of the sandstone bedding dip angle and load. This model is employed to study the damage accumulation state and its evolution within the layered rock mass. This research also introduces a piecewise constitutive model that considers the initial compaction characteristics to simulate the whole deformation process of layered sandstone under uniaxial compression. The results revealed that as the bedding angle increases from 0°to 90°,the uniaxial compressive strength and elastic modulus of layered sandstone significantly decrease, slightly increase, and then decline again. The corresponding failure modes transition from splitting tensile failure to slipping shear failure and back to splitting tensile failure. As indicated by the modulus’s degradation, the damage characteristics can be categorized into four stages:initial no damage, damage initiation, damage acceleration, and damage deceleration termination. The theoretical damage model based on the Logistic equation effectively simulates and predicts the entire damage evolution process. Moreover, the theoretical constitutive model curves closely align with the actual stress−strain curves of layered sandstone under uniaxial compression. The introduced constitutive model is concise, with fewer parameters,a straightforward parameter determination process, and a clear physical interpretation. This study offers valuable insights into the theory of layered rock mechanics and holds implications for ensuring the safety of rock engineering.

文摘BACKGROUND The exercise of limb function is the most economical and safe method to promote the maturation of arteriovenous fistula(AVF).However, due to the lack of a uni-fied exercise standard in China, many patients have insufficient awareness of the importance of AVF,leading to poor effectiveness of limb function exercise. The self-management education model can effectively promote patients to take pro-active health-related actions. This study focuses on the characteristics of patients during the peri-AVF period and conducts a phased limb function exercise under the guidance of the self-management education model to observe changes in fac-tors such as the maturity of AVF.AIM To assess the impact of stage-specific limb function exercises, directed by a self-management education model,on the maturation status of AVFs.METHODS This study is a randomized controlled trial involving 74 patients with forearm AVFs from the Nephrology Department of a tertiary hospital in Sichuan Province,China.Patients were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group using a random number table method. The observation group underwent tailored stage-specific limb func-tion exercises, informed by a self-management education model which took into account the unique features of AVF at various stages,in conjunction with routine care.Conversely, the control group was given standard limb function exercises along with routine care. The assessment involves the maturity of AVFs post-intervention,post-operative complications, and the self-management level of the fistula in both groups patients.Analyses were conducted using SPSS version 23.0.Count data were represented by frequency and percentage and subjected to chi-square test comparisons.Measurement data adhering to a normal distribution were presented as mean±SD.The independent samples t-test was utilized for inter-group comparisons, while the paired t-test was used for intra-group comparisons. For measurement data not fitting a normal distribution, the median and interquartile range were presented and analyzed using the Wilcoxon rank sum test.RESULTS At the 8-wk postoperative mark, the observation group demonstrated significantly higher scores in AVF symptom recognition, symptom prevention, and self-management compared to the control group(P<0.05).However,the variance in symptom management scores between the observation and control groups lacked statistical signi-ficance(P>0.05).At 4 wk after the operation, the observation group displayed a superior vessel diameter and depth from the skin of the drainage vessels in comparison to the control group(P<0.05).While the observation group did manifest elevated blood flow rates in the drainage vessels relative to the control group, this distinction was not statistically significant(P>0.05).By the 8-wk postoperative interval, the observation group outperformed the control group with notable enhancements in blood flow rates, vessel diameter, and depth from the skin of drainage vessels(P<0.01).Seven days following the procedure, the observation group manifested significantly diminished limb swelling and an overall reduced complication rate in contrast to the control group(P<0.05).The evaluation of infection, thrombosis, embolism, arterial aneurysm stenosis, and incision bleeding showed no notable differences between the two groups(P>0.05).By the 4-wk postoperative juncture, complications between the observation and control groups were statistically indistinguishable(P>0.05).CONCLUSION Stage-specific limb function exercises, under the guidance of a self-management education model, amplify the capacity of AVF patients to discern and prevent symptoms.Additionally, they expedite AVF maturation and miti-gate postoperative limb edema, underscoring their efficacy as a valuable method for the care and upkeep of AVF in hemodialysis patients.

文摘A high-precision regional gravity field model is significant in various geodesy applications. In the field of modelling regional gravity fields, the spherical radial basis functions(SRBFs)approach has recently gained widespread attention, while the modelling precision is primarily influenced by the base function network. In this study,we propose a method for constructing a data-adaptive network of SRBFs using a modified Hierarchical Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise(HDBSCAN)algorithm, and the performance of the algorithm is verified by the observed gravity data in the Auvergne area.Furthermore, the turning point method is used to optimize the bandwidth of the basis function spectrum, which satisfies the demand for both high-precision gravity field and quasi-geoid modelling simultaneously.Numerical experimental results indicate that our algorithm has an accuracy of about 1.58 mGal in constructing the gravity field model and about 0.03 m in the regional quasi-geoid model.Compared to the existing methods, the number of SRBFs used for modelling has been reduced by 15.8%,and the time cost to determine the centre positions of SRBFs has been saved by 12.5%.Hence,the modified HDBSCAN algorithm presented here is a suitable design method for constructing the SRBF data adaptive network.
文摘The ball and plate system is an inherently nonlinear under actuated benchmark system used for validating the performance of various control schemes. Since the open-loop system is unstable, the experimental validation of the model is performed with a double-loop PSO (particle swarm optimization) PID control scheme.

文摘In this paper,a multiscale model is developed for the mass functionally graded(FG)beam-fluid system to investigate its static and dynamic responses based on 3D printed porous beam free vibration tests, which are determined by two aspects. At the microstructural level, the gradient variation is realized by arbitrary distribution of matrix pores, and the effective moduli under specific distribution are obtained using the micromechanics homogenization theory. In the meantime,at the structural level, the mechanical responses of FG porous beams subjected to mass loading are considered in a static fluid environment. Then, the explicit expressions of local finite-element(FE)expressions corresponding to the static and dynamic responses are given in the appendices. The present results are validated against numerical and experimental results from the literature and mechanical tests of 3D printed structures, with good agreement generally obtained, giving credence to the present model. On this basis,a comprehensive parametric study is carried out, with a particular focus on the effects of boundary conditions, fluid density, and slenderness ratio on the bending and vibration of FG beams with several different gradations.

文摘This paper explores model order reduction(MOR)methods for discrete linear and discrete bilinear systems via discrete pulse orthogonal functions(DPOFs).Firstly, the discrete linear systems and the discrete bilinear systems are expanded in the space spanned by DPOFs,and two recurrence formulas for the expansion coefficients of the system’s state variables are obtained. Then,a modified Arnoldi process is applied to both recurrence formulas to construct the orthogonal projection matrices,by which the reduced-order systems are obtained.Theoretical analysis shows that the output variables of the reducedorder systems can match a certain number of the expansion coefficients of the original system’s output variables. Finally, two numerical examples illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed methods.
