Algorithms are the primary component of Artificial Intelligence(AI).The algorithm is the process in AI that imitates the human mind to solve problems.Currently evaluating the performance of AI is achieved by evaluating AI algorithms by metric scores on data sets.However the evaluation of algorithms in AI is challenging because the evaluation of the same type of algorithm has many data sets and evaluation metrics.Different algorithms may have individual strengths and weaknesses in evaluation metric scores on separate data sets,lacking the credibility and validity of the evaluation.Moreover,evaluation of algorithms requires repeated experiments on different data sets,reducing the attention of researchers to the research of the algorithms itself.Crucially,this approach to evaluating comparative metric scores does not take into account the algorithm’s ability to solve problems.And the classical algorithm evaluation of time and space complexity is not suitable for evaluating AI algorithms.Because classical algorithms input is infinite numbers,whereas AI algorithms input is a data set,which is limited and multifarious.According to the AI algorithm evaluation without response to the problem solving capability,this paper summarizes the features of AI algorithm evaluation and proposes an AI evaluation method that incorporates the problem-solving capabilities of algorithms. 展开更多

Wind energy has emerged as a potential replacement for fossil fuel-based energy sources.To harness maximum wind energy,a crucial decision in the development of an efficient wind farm is the optimal layout design.This layout defines the specific locations of the turbines within the wind farm.The process of finding the optimal locations of turbines,in the presence of various technical and technological constraints,makes the wind farm layout design problem a complex optimization problem.This problem has traditionally been solved with nature-inspired algorithms with promising results.The performance and convergence of nature-inspired algorithms depend on several parameters,among which the algorithm termination criterion plays a crucial role.Timely convergence is an important aspect of efficient algorithm design because an inefficient algorithm results in wasted computational resources,unwarranted electricity consumption,and hardware stress.This study provides an in-depth analysis of several termination criteria while using the genetic algorithm as a test bench,with its application to the wind farm layout design problem while considering various wind scenarios.The performance of six termination criteria is empirically evaluated with respect to the quality of solutions produced and the execution time involved.Due to the conflicting nature of these two attributes,fuzzy logic-based multi-attribute decision-making is employed in the decision process.Results for the fuzzy decision approach indicate that among the various criteria tested,the criterion Phi achieves an improvement in the range of 2.44%to 32.93%for wind scenario 1.For scenario 2,Best-worst termination criterion performed well compared to the other criteria evaluated,with an improvement in the range of 1.2%to 9.64%.For scenario 3,Hitting bound was the best performer with an improvement of 1.16%to 20.93%. 展开更多

Geometric precision evaluation methodology of multiple reference station network algorithms

To evaluate the performance of real time kinematic (RTK) network algorithms without applying actual measurements, a new method called geometric precision evaluation methodology (GPEM) based on covariance analysis was presented. Three types of multiple reference station interpolation algorithms, including partial derivation algorithm (PDA), linear interpolation algorithms (LIA) and least squares condition (LSC) were discussed and analyzed. The geometric dilution of precision (GDOP) was defined to describe the influence of the network geometry on the interpolation precision, and the different GDOP expressions of above-mentioned algorithms were deduced. In order to compare geometric precision characteristics among different multiple reference station network algorithms, a simulation was conducted, and the GDOP contours of these algorithms were enumerated. Finally, to confirm the validation of GPEM, an experiment was conducted using data from Unite State Continuously Operating Reference Stations (US-CORS), and the precision performances were calculated according to the real test data and GPEM, respectively. The results show that GPEM generates very accurate estimation of the performance compared to the real data test. 展开更多

In order to establish the lake eutrophic evaluation model for multiple indices,based on the gauge transformation,an index formula in the form of a logarithmic power function was proposed to design an eutrophic evaluation model for the " normalized values" of multi-indexes.The parameters in the formula were also optimized by bee immune evolutionary algorithm(BEIEA).The universal index formula was suitable to multiindices items for eutrophic evaluation.At the same time,the formula was applied to practical eutrophic evaluations in 10 regions of Dong Lake.The evaluation results were coincident with those obtained from the power function of weighted sums and also with actual conditions.It was shown that the bee immune evolutionary algorithm was suitable to the parameter optimization in the eutrophic evaluation model. 展开更多

This paper describes a set of on-site earthquake safety evaluation systems for buildings, which were developed based on a network platform. The system embedded into the quantitative research results which were completed in accordance with the provisions from Post-earthquake Field Works, Part 2: Safety Assessment of Buildings, GB18208.2 -2001, and was further developed into an easy-to-use software platform. The system is aimed at allowing engineering professionals, civil engineeing technicists or earthquake-affected victims on site to assess damaged buildings through a network after earthquakes. The authors studied the function structure, process design of the safety evaluation module, and hierarchical analysis algorithm module of the system in depth, and developed the general architecture design, development technology and database design of the system. Technologies such as hierarchical architecture design and Java EE were used in the system development, and MySQL5 was adopted in the database development. The result is a complete evaluation process of information collection, safety evaluation, and output of damage and safety degrees, as well as query and statistical analysis of identified buildings. The system can play a positive role in sharing expert post-earthquake experience and promoting safety evaluation of buildings on a seismic field. 展开更多

An online experiment to acquire the interior noise of a China Railways High-speed (CRH) train showed that it wasmainly composed of middle-low frequency components and could not be described properly by linear or A-weighted soundpressure level (SPL). Thus, the appropriate way to evaluate the high-speed train interior noise is to use sound quality parameters,and the most important is loudness. To overcome the disadvantages of the existing loudness algorithms, a novel signal-adaptiveMoore loudness algorithm (AMLA) based on the equivalent rectangular bandwidth (ERB) spectrum was introduced. The valida-tion reveals that AMLA can obtain higher accuracy and efficiency, and the simulated dark red noise conforms best to thehigh-speed train interior noise by loudness and auditory assessment. The main loudness component of the interior noise is below27.6 ERB rate (erbr), and the sound quality of the interior noise is relatively stable between 300-350 km/h. The specific loudnesscomponents among 12-15 erbr stay invariable throughout the acceleration or deceleration process while components among20-27 erbr are evidently speed related. The unusual random noise is effectively identified, which indicates that AMLA is anappropriate method for sound quality assessment of the high-speed train under both steady and transient conditions. 展开更多

The overlay analysis method wasused in combining evaluation factors of Guangdong soil resource quality to determine the evaluation units. Because ofits favorable convergent speed and its ability to search solutions, the immune algorithm was applied to the soil resourcequality evaluation model. At the same time, the evaluation results of this newly proposed method were compared to twoother methods: sum of index and fuzzy synthetic. According to the mathematical definition of spatial straightness, a verification model is established for straightness error, and the fitness function of GA is then given and the implementation techniques of the proposed algorithm is discussed in detail. The implementation techniques include real number encoding,adaptive variable range choosing, roulette wheel and elitist combination selection strategies,heuristic crossover and single point mutation schemes etc.An applicatin example is quoted to validate the proposed algorithm. The computation result shows that the GA-based approach is a superior nonlinear parallel optimization method. The performance of the evolution population can be improved through genetic operations such as reproduction,crossover and mutation until the optimum goal of the minimum zone solution is obtained. The quality of the solution is better and the efficiency of computation is higher than other methods. 展开更多

To develop a better approach for spatial evaluation of drinking water quality, an intelligent evaluation method integrating a geographical information system(GIS) and an ant colony clustering algorithm(ACCA) was used. Drinking water samples from 29 wells in Zhenping County, China, were collected and analyzed. 35 parameters on water quality were selected, such as chloride concentration, sulphate concentration, total hardness, nitrate concentration, fluoride concentration, turbidity, pH, chromium concentration, COD, bacterium amount, total coliforms and color. The best spatial interpolation methods for the 35 parameters were found and selected from all types of interpolation methods in GIS environment according to the minimum cross-validation errors. The ACCA was improved through three strategies, namely mixed distance function, average similitude degree and probability conversion functions. Then, the ACCA was carried out to obtain different water quality grades in the GIS environment. In the end, the result from the ACCA was compared with those from the competitive Hopfield neural network(CHNN) to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the ACCA according to three evaluation indexes, which are stochastic sampling method, pixel amount and convergence speed. It is shown that the spatial water quality grades obtained from the ACCA were more effective, accurate and intelligent than those obtained from the CHNN. 展开更多

Clustering mode has two limited integral parameters. Evaluating mode evaluates clustering results and gives each a mark. The higher mark the clustering result gains, the higher quality it has. By organizing two modes in different ways, we can build two clustering algorithms: SECDU(Self-Expanded Clustering Algorithm based on Density Units) and SECDUF(Self-Expanded Clustering Algorithm Based on Density Units with Evaluation Feedback Section). SECDU enumerates all value pairs of two parameters of clustering mode to process data set repeatedly and evaluates every clustering result by evaluating mode. Then SECDU output the clustering result that has the highest evaluating mark among all the ones. By applying "hill-climbing algorithm", SECDUF improves clustering efficiency greatly. Data sets that have different distribution features can be well adapted to both algorithms. SECDU and SECDUF can output high-quality clustering results. SECDUF tunes parameters of clustering mode automatically and no man's action involves through the whole process. In addition, SECDUF has a high clustering performance. 展开更多

The comprehensive evaluation of the co-designers for the collaborative design resources has been done from different aspects using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) ,and according to the evaluation results,the candidates are determined. Meanwhile,based on the principle of minimum cost,and starting from the relations between the design tasks and the corresponding co-designers,the optimizing selection model of the collaborators is established and one novel genetic combined with simulated annealing algorithm is proposed to realize the optimization. It overcomes the defects of the genetic algorithm which may lead to the premature convergenee and local optimization if used individually. Through the application of this method in the ship collaborative design system,it proves the feasibility and provides a quantitative method for the optimizing selection of the design resources. 展开更多

Considering the characteristics of spatial straightness error, this paper puts forward a kind of evaluation method of spatial straightness error using Geometric Approximation Searching Algorithm (GASA). According to the minimum condition principle of form error evaluation, the mathematic model and optimization objective of the GASA are given. The algorithm avoids the optimization and linearization, and can be fulfilled in three steps. First construct two parallel quadrates based on the preset two reference points of the spatial line respectively;second construct centerlines by connecting one quadrate each vertices to another quadrate each vertices;after that, calculate the distances between measured points and the constructed centerlines. The minimum zone straightness error is obtained by repeating comparing and reconstructing quadrates. The principle and steps of the algorithm to evaluate spatial straightness error is described in detail, and the mathematical formula and program flowchart are given also. Results show that this algorithm can evaluate spatial straightness error more effectively and exactly. 展开更多

Thus it poses the problems to the decision-makers how to conduct correct evaluation on a business and how to make strategy adjustment and selection according to the evaluation. Based on the qualitative and quantitative method, the paper introduces the Projection Pursuit Classification (PPC) model based on the Real-coded Accelerating Genetic Algorithm (RAGA) into the process of enterprises' strategy evaluation and selection. The characteristic of PPC model is that it ultimately overcomes the influence of the proportion of subjectivity and avoids precocious convergence, thus providing a new objective method for strategy evaluation and selection by pursuing the most objective strategy evaluation to make the relatively sensible strategy portfolio and action. 展开更多

Using a fuzzy estimator to evaluate the fitness of chromosomes in a genetic algorithm and adaptively training it in the evolutionary process, the genetic algorithm with fuzzy fitness evaluation is proposed to reduce the computation time of the algorithm. An analysis on the optimization performance of the proposed algorithm shows that it maintains good performance with its computation time saved. Finally, simulation results on design of a fuzzy controller are presented. 展开更多

However, traditional fault location methods have a lot of problems in engineering application for the length of transmission line and the complexity of the terrain. This paper proposes a comprehensive evaluation algorithm based on the travelling wave method and time domain method. It also proposes a concept of fault point reliability. This algorithm analyzes the fault point reliability in the whole transmission line to determine the specific location of the fault point. This paper proves that the algorithm has high reliability by PSCAD simulation software. 展开更多
