Chemistry science popularization for lower grades(Grades 1-2)in primary schools is an important part of science enlightenment education.However,in practice,it generally faces practical dilemmas such as insufficient co...Chemistry science popularization for lower grades(Grades 1-2)in primary schools is an important part of science enlightenment education.However,in practice,it generally faces practical dilemmas such as insufficient content adaptability,a single implementation method,and a lack of coordination mechanisms.Based on Piaget’s Cognitive Development Theory and the STSE(Science,Technology,Society,Environment)educational concept,this study constructed a four-in-one strategy system of“content development-teaching implementation-collaborative linkage-guarantee support”through literature analysis,action research,and empirical comparison.An empirical study was conducted in two primary schools for one academic year.The results show that this strategy system can increase students’interest in participating in chemistry science popularization by 42 percentage points,the compliance rate of observation ability reaches 85%,and the collaborative participation of families,schools,and society rises to 85%.The core strategies formed in the study,including“age-appropriate content screening,interactive teaching implementation,three-dimensional collaborative promotion,and full-process guarantee support,”provide a replicable practical model for the standardized and efficient development of chemistry science popularization for lower grades in primary schools.They also offer empirical references for fulfilling the requirement of“strengthening the pertinence and effectiveness of science popularization”in the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Popularization of Science and Technology(revised in 2024).展开更多
With long-term government support and col ective societal engagement,China's scientific and technological(S&T)societies have achieved significant progress in science popularization(SP),substantially contributi...With long-term government support and col ective societal engagement,China's scientific and technological(S&T)societies have achieved significant progress in science popularization(SP),substantially contributing to the enhancement of national science communication capabilities and the improvement of citizens'scientific literacy.Within the overarching framework of advancing the high-quality development of China's SP endeavours in the new era,the high-quality development of SP by S&T societies plays a pivotal role.This study systematical y examines the chal enges and dilemmas confronting the high-quality development of SP within China's S&T societies.Theoretical y,it expands the research framework of col aborative mechanisms in science communication,while practical y proposing the construction of a‘six-in-one’high-quality SP service system encompassing brand development,platform construction,talent cultivation,specialized projects,incentive mechanisms and infrastructure development.Our research further reveals that empowering SP content innovation through digital and intel igent technologies,as wel as optimizing the compatibility of policy instrument portfolios,can strengthen the efficacy of SP services and provide systematic support for the modernization of S&T societies.This study not only offers policy references for improving the governance system of SP but also identifies future research directions,such as deepening comparative international studies and long-term efficacy evaluations,to advance the development of more explanatory theoretical frameworks.These efforts aim to bolster high-level S&T self-reliance and contribute to the construction of a world-leading scientific,educational and talent powerhouse.展开更多
BACKGROUND Cancer presents a significant public health challenge in China,necessitating broad collaboration across society.The Chinese government has articulated a goal to increase the overall five-year survival rate ...BACKGROUND Cancer presents a significant public health challenge in China,necessitating broad collaboration across society.The Chinese government has articulated a goal to increase the overall five-year survival rate for cancer by 15%by 2030.Achieving this objective requires not only advances in medical technology,but also an im-provement in the dissemination of knowledge pertaining to cancer prevention and treatment.AIM To provide a comprehensive understanding of the status of cancer prevention and level of popularization in China in 2023.METHODS From January 2023 to May 2023,online questionnaires were distributed to 3000 participants,including medical personnel,patients with cancer,their families,and the general public.There were 2711 valid responses,covering the entire nation.RESULTS A total of 1020 medical personnel and 1691 patients with cancer,their family members,and the general public participated in the survey.Among medical personnel,93.2%had popularized cancer health.Commonly addressed topics included cancer prevention(85.9%)and cancer screening(77.8%).Primary challenges included time constraints(73.9%),insufficient personnel and material support(66.7%),and uncertainty as to where to begin(49.3%).Among patients with cancer,their family members,and the general public,93.4%reported reading or watching cancer science popularization materials and 56.9%expressed a desire for deeper understanding.The most sought-after topics in cancer science popularization included cancer screening(80.2%)and cancer prevention(75.8%).The greatest challenge encountered in accessing cancer health popularization was an abundance of misinformation(67.5%).CONCLUSION Most clinical doctors,patients,family,and the general public wish to participate in cancer education.However,improvement in the quality of content in cancer prevention and treatment education is required.展开更多

Four d...This article presents a brief review of the history, main achievements and challenges faced during the 40-year evolution of science popularization(SP) in China that began with the reform and opening up process. Four distinct phases are noted in the development of SP: institutional reconstruction, structural maturity, fast development of a legal system and comprehensive strategic upgrading. China has achieved much during these phases in the areas of SP mechanisms, funding, personnel, infrastructure, resources and civic scientific literacy. At the same time, it is also facing challenges in strategic positioning, the effectiveness of SP policies,internationalization, the construction of the SP system and scientific culture. Evidently, the government's prioritization of SP is critical for advancing this initiative. In the future, under the government's leadership, the following directions should be pursued: expanding and improving civic scientific literacy through a focus on internationalization;promoting scientific cooperation from a global perspective;establishing a long-term SP mechanism;and building a service platform to promote ‘smart SP'. First, the vision for the public＇s engagement with ＂digital ocean＂ is described： an analysis is presented from four aspects, i.e., the space dimension, the time dimension, the state dimension and its relationship with human beings. Second, the technical framework of iOcean is discussed, including data updating and model computing, the data, the function, and the application layers. Third, two key technolo- gies are studied in detail that will enable the construction of iOcean. More than half a million public viewers have used the current version＇s website. In this kind of program, one can find spoken language （on/off screen voices, interviews, etc.）, other oral material （sounds, music, songs）, written language （descriptions, title sequences, inserts and Uniform Resource Locator, or electronic addresses）, and other visual material （film cut images, advertising, other TV programs, cartoons, films, both location or studio images, depicting reality, or computer screens, or logotypes）. The profusion of multimodal elements used in this program helps to keep the young audience＇s attention. The use of references to their world or knowledge, as a target group, is based on interplay among different semiotic strategies. 文摘Some ethical norms should be followed in science popularization.Such norms are related to,but also different from,the ethics of science and technology,communication and education.This paper explores the definition of science popularization ethics in Chinese and foreign literature and reflects on the concept and connotation of the ethical norms that should be followed in science popularization in China.It suggests that the ethical norms that people should follow in science popularization should be defined as‘science popularization ethics'in China.
文摘The plant immunity inducer, amino-oligosaccharin, has remarkable effects in disease resistance, cold tolerance, growth promotion, yield increase and quality improvement. This paper introduced the action mechanism of amino-oligosaccharin, its main application effects on crops and application techniques. In 2013-2014, ex- periments were conducted on a variety of crops at multiple locations by Xinjiang Corps as well as popularization and application in 2013-2014, and it was shown by the popularization and application that the application of amino-oligosaccharin could promote plant growth, reduce the incidence of crop diseases and improve crop yield and product quality.

文摘According to the initial vision of ＂digital earth＂ （DE）, the public should constitute a significant proportion of its users. However, to date, most of the studies and applications have focused on science, the private sec- tor and government. A DE-supported online oceanic educational public service and popularization system, iOcean, is studied. First, the vision for the public＇s engagement with ＂digital ocean＂ is described： an analysis is presented from four aspects, i.e., the space dimension, the time dimension, the state dimension and its relationship with human beings. Second, the technical framework of iOcean is discussed, including data updating and model computing, the data, the function, and the application layers. Third, two key technolo- gies are studied in detail that will enable the construction of iOcean. More than half a million public viewers have used the current version＇s website. Practical demonstrations show that iOcean can bring virtual oceans to web browsers and desktops and construct a bridge between government departments and the general public.

Based on analyzing the challenges faced by Hubei meteorological science popularization work,the suggestions of Hubei meteorological science popularization work during the ＂ 13 th five-year＂ period are proposed from four aspects： further optimize operation mechanism of meteorological science popularization work,and improve work efficiency; combine full-time and part-time teams,and promote the fighting capacity of the science popularization team; adapt to the demand of multimedia publicity,and expand the connotation of popular science creation; build brand,and create a stereoscopic science popularization network.
文摘In recent years,Kaifeng Meteorological Bureau and Kaifeng Municipal Meteorological Society seriously think how to strengthen the construction of science popularization base,and take below measures improving the influence of ＂ national science popularization education base＂ and further increasing the propaganda of meteorological popular science knowledge. Firstly,launching periodical meteorological science popularization into campus,village and community,and holding meteorological science forum; secondly,cooperating with municipal science association and Science and Technology Bureau,and jointly issuing the related documents of carrying out the propaganda of meteorological science popularization;thirdly,co-constructing campus weather station and meteorological science popularization demonstration community; fourthly,setting up special meteorological science lecture and report meeting; fifthly,integrating meteorological science with studies of Chinese ancient civilization based on innovation. In the form of recreation and loved by the masses,the propaganda of meteorological popular science knowledge is done well,and people recognizing,understanding,grasping and applying meteorological science is improved,thereby reaching the target of decreasing the damages of meteorological disaster to social economy and human life and property.

文摘Based on the needs of regional industrial development and technical personnel training,the training base for technical skill as the core function has effectively enhanced the development of vocational education.However,at present,the training base in vocational colleges is mainly applied for students’teaching,and the overall utilization rate is low.It is of great importance in the rational application of software and hardware resources onto the training base to widely carry out popular science activities.The importance of training base construction and scientific popularization is expounded.On this basis,the research team took the S&T racing training base as a case to study its expandable scientific popularization function.The practice results show that using the resources of the training base to carry out scientific popularization activities can greatly improve teenagers’interest in automobile technology.More training bases in vocational colleges should expand the function of scientific popularization.
文摘Standing at the starting point of the 14th Five-Year Plan(2021–2025), China's modern science and technology museum system faces both new opportunities and challenges, and urgently needs supply-side reform of science popularization resources. The reform should maintain the direction of promoting public participation, strengthening cross-sector integration, applying emerging technologies, promoting the science popularization industry and deepening international cooperation. The aim of the reform is to optimize exhibition levels and quality, deepen the diversity and innovation of educational resources, refine the detection of and response to visitor demands, and strengthen academic research and the transformation of research achievements. Such efforts will serve to cultivate the capacity for holding popular exhibitions, enhancing science communication, delivering targeted services and driving innovation, and will promote the development of high-quality and highly efficient modern science and technology museums.

Taking Science Popularization and Education Hall of Jiangxi Wuyi Mountain Nature Reserve for example, this paper explored the architectural design in mountain landscapes from the perspectives of spatial form, facade design, color materials and design experience, in order to achieve the integration of landscape constructions and natural environment.
文摘The aim of this work is to study the interaction of spoken words and images that are used within programs targeted to popularize knowledge among teenagers. We will look into the program Bit@bit developed by Television de Catalunya, which is intended to disseminate computer concepts, tools and procedures. In this kind of program, one can find spoken language （on/off screen voices, interviews, etc.）, other oral material （sounds, music, songs）, written language （descriptions, title sequences, inserts and Uniform Resource Locator, or electronic addresses）, and other visual material （film cut images, advertising, other TV programs, cartoons, films, both location or studio images, depicting reality, or computer screens, or logotypes）. The profusion of multimodal elements used in this program helps to keep the young audience＇s attention. The use of references to their world or knowledge, as a target group, is based on interplay among different semiotic strategies. At the same time, the entire program＇s multi-segmentation into short video clips, combined with a fast paced sound track helps its audience to understand the specialized explanations presented. Of all the multimodal wealth that the program presents, we will concentrate only on the relationship between the words and the images （leaving other secondary semiotics to one side）, the main strategy for achieving the objective of transmitting knowledge and winning adolescent audiences.

文摘To more vigorously promote Beijing culture internationally is bothan essential link in the strategy to turn Beijing into a cultural center and an international exchange center. This promotion would also serve as a critical step to advance the cultural development and internationalization of Beijing. As an important group of foreigners living in Beijing, foreign students can play a unique part in upgrading Beijing culture' s international influence.These students look at Beijing culture from a cross-cultural standpoint and thus can offer a vital reference for the international promotion effort. Using a combination of questionnaires and interviews, the author surveyed international students in seven Beijing universities that have a relatively high number of foreign students. Based on this firsthand data, this paper analyzes the Beijing-based international students' identity with Beijing culture, reflects on the experiences and inadequacies in the current promotion of Beijing culture, and makes relevant suggestions regarding the inadequacies.
