It is essential for the research workers to be able to quantitatively characterise ENPs in the environment and subsequently to assist the risk assessment of the ENPs. This study hence explored the application of nanoparticle tracking system(NTA) to quantitatively describe the behaviour of the ENPs in natural sediment-water systems. The NTA allows the measurement of both particle number concentration(PNC) and particle size distribution(PSD) of the ENPs. The developed NTA method was applied to a range of gold and magnetite ENPs with a selection of surface properties. The results showed that the positively-charged ENPs interacted more strongly with the sediment than neutral and negatively-charged ENPs. It was also found that the citrate coated Au ENPs had a higher distribution percentage(53%) than 11-mercaptoundecanoic acid coated Au ENPs(20%) and citrate coated magnetite ENPs(21%). The principles of the electrostatic interactions between hard(and soft) acids and bases(HSAB) are used to explain such behaviours; the hard base coating(i.e. citrate ions) will interact more strongly with hard acid(i.e. magnetite) than soft acid(i.e. gold). The results indicate that NTA is a complementary method to existing approaches to characterise the fate and behaviour of ENPs in natural sediment.展开更多

Studies of land consolidation and crop cultivation still mainly focus on single land functional optimization or crop breeding and yields. However, whether the improved crop varieties were sown on healthy and fertile soils is still a question. This paper introduces new ideas and engineering measures for sandy land rehabilitation and modern agricultural development in the Mu Us Sandy Land, Shaanxi Province, Western China. The important roles of particles and aggregates in soil reconstruction were confirmed following three innovative microscopic theories, including micro-structure, micro-morphology and micro-mechanism. New soil was constructed based on the physical complementarity of sandy, clay and loess particles in the Yulin area, northern Shaanxi Province. Field experiments were carried out to study the appropriate mixture ratio of different soils and their suitability for different crops. The improved crop varieties were sown on healthy and fertile soils, which were chosen by coupling according to its soil ecological suitability and crop physiological adaptability. The fertility improvement practices in the new constructed soils with different crops integrated water and fertilizer management measures, which were also provided in the experiment. Overall, an integrated land optimization configuration with improved and optimized crop variety selection was suggested for engineering sandy land-oriented consolidation from the soil particles to the agricultural system.展开更多

Experiment of HPGR finished grinding system, cationic reverse flotation experiment and simulation test of particle bed comminution under the condition of quasi-static were carried out. Theoretical analyses indicated that both of uniformity coefficient and average particle size should be included in the uniformity analysis of the mineral particles. The results show that the effect of circulation fan impeller speed on particle uniformity is the most evident, HPGR working pressure and roll gap are second and HPGR roller speed is the last. Average particle size has a more obvious effect on the grade of flotation concentrate while uniformity coefficient has a more obvious effect on the flotation recovery. Considering the two aspects of grade and recovery, the optimal uniformity coefficient for flotation is 1.1-1.2 and the optimal average particle size for flotation is 50-55 μm. The operating factors which promote the shielding effect and compact effect in the HPGR finished grinding system should be strengthened based on the uniformity of particles.展开更多

The results indicated that optimized core-shell ratio was 60/40 and the loading volume of CSEP was 10 phr (per hundred parts of epoxy resin by weight). The impact strength of modified systems increased apparently with the decrease of core sizes. However, the shearing strength changed gently with the particle sizes. CSEP with lightly crosslinked rubbery core showed more effectiveness on toughness than others. With solution blending, CSEP could be dispersed in epoxy matrix well, and the morphologies of dispersed rubber domains were controlled perfectly by CSEP whose structure was predesigned. A cavitation-shearing band toughness mechanism was observed from the SEM micrographs of fracture surface. It also was found that the deforming temperature (DT) of modified epoxy did not decline apparently.展开更多

The presence of the feeding device can lead to heterogeneity of drying and heating, and is the main factor responsible for pressure loss in short conveying systems. However, there is a lack of information concerning the axial and radial distributions of coarse particles in this type of configuration, despite the recent advances when dealing with fine particles (FCC catalyst). The present work therefore investigates a vertical venturi feeder with the conveying system operating in dilute-phase regime with 1 mm spherical glass particles. Experimental assays revealed the behavior of the mass flow rate of solids in the system, and pressure measurements were made along the riser in order to evaluate the accuracy of simulations. Euler-Euler simulations provided close estimation of the experimental pressure drop and the pressure drop according to distance in the linear region. Simulation of the fluid dynamics in the riser showed that solids clusters were formed at low concentrations near the feeding device, reflecting heterogeneity in the solid phase volume fraction.展开更多

文摘Colitis-associated colorectal cancer(CAC)is a major contributor to cancer-related mortality worldwide.Titanium dioxide(TiO_(2),E171),a widely used food additive, has been insufficiently studied regarding its effects on macrophages within colon tumors during CAC development. In this study,CAC mouse models were used to investigate the biological impact of dietary E171 on macrophages in vivo, while lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophage cell lines were employed to elucidate the underlying mechanisms in vitro. We found that dietary E171 intake accelerated CAC development, exacerbated inflammatory responses and oxidative stress, and upregulated CAC-associated genes, including S100a8,S100a9,Lcn2,S100a11,Cxcl2,and interleukin-1α(Il-1α).E171 also increased the expression of S100A8,S100A9,NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing 3(NLRP3),and gasdermin-D Nterminal(GSDMD-N)in macrophages within colon tumors. In inflammatory macrophages,E171 exposure enhanced cell viability, increased reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels, and elevated the expression and secretion of S100A8 and S100A9,consistent with in vivo histological observations.Furthermore,E171-induced secretion of S100A8 and S100A9 in macrophages was suppressed by specific inhibitors, including N-acetylcysteine(NAC,ROS inhibitor),MCC950(NLRP3 inhibitor),Z-YVAD-FMK(caspase 1 inhibitor),disulfiram(GSDMD inhibitor),and transfection of NLRP3 small interfering ribonucleic acid(siRNA).These results indicate that dietary E171 promotes CAC development by activating macrophages, with S100A8 and S100A9 serving as key mediators, and the NLRP3/caspase 1/GSDMD pathway acting as a critical mechanism.

文摘An in-depth understanding of the behaviours of solid propellants under low-velocity impact loads is crucial for enhancing their safety in applications such as aerospace propulsion. This study investigated the dynamic responses of single ammonium perchlorate(AP)/octogen(HMX)particles embedded in a hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene(HTPB)binder under dynamic compression loading via real-time synchrotron-based X-ray phase contrast imaging and a modified split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)system. The compression of the viscoelastic binder and subsequent dynamic fracturing of the AP/HMX particles were captured.During compression, transverse cracks developed within the AP particles, and their propagation led to particle fracturing, resulting in ductile fracturing.Unlike AP,HMX generated numerous short cracks within the internal and edge regions simultaneously, leading to fragmentation and brittle fracturing. Moreover, particle damage reduced the modulus of the sample, shifting its dynamic stress response from nonlinear elasticity to strain softening and further strain hardening as the binder exhibited plastic deformation.A compression simulation incorporating a real particle microscopic structure was established to study the mechanical response of the interface and particles. The simulation results agreed with the experimental observations. These results indicate that the shear stress at the HTPB-AP interface is greater than that at the HTPB-HMX interface, which is a factor influencing the differences in the mesoscale damage mechanisms of the particles.

文摘The Electrical Power System(EPS)is one of the spacecraft’s key subsystems, and its operational status directly affects the lifespan and performance of the entire spacecraft. The corresponding fault diagnosis has always been the discussion focus to ensure spacecraft reliability. In this paper,a few-shot unsupervised fault diagnosis method based on the improved Newman community division algorithm is proposed,to approach the scarcity of fault data samples and the inconspicuous characteristics of abnormal data.Firstly, aiming to capture the overall relevance of the fault dataset,a complex network model is built by adopting the K-Dynamic time warping distance Adjacent Nodes(KDAN)method.Based on the complex network model, the Newman community divisions algorithm is improved by using the Quantum-behaved Particle Swarm Optimization(QPSO).Subsequently,in order to evaluate the feasibility of the proposed method, experimental validation was conducted using an open-source dataset. The results indicate that the average accuracy can reach 96.43% for fault data diagnosis, and an F1_score of 97.76%with only 17.65%of the dataset used for training. The proposed method can accurately classify abnormal data by identifying the community structure in the data network, significantly improve the efficiency of the community divisions algorithm and reduce its complexity, and provide a new solution for fault diagnosis in large-scale complex systems.

文摘We show that in Schwarzschild equivalent mediums, the massless spin particles obey the same dynamical equation, from which we obtain remarkably simple formulae for the frequencies of the quasibound states. We find that the quasibound frequencies of different bosons can be identical at the same quantum number l,and the same is true of different fermions, but a quasibound frequency for bosons can never equal a quasibound frequency for fermions. These results mean that in Schwarzschild equivalent mediums with the quasibound-state boundary conditions, characteristics of electromagnetic waves are the same as those for all the massless bosonic waves, thereby allowing electromagnetic waves to simulate gravitational waves. Our predictions can be tested in future experiments, building upon the successful preparation of Schwarzschild equivalent mediums.

文摘With the increasing penetration of renewable energy, the coordination of energy storage with thermal power for frequency regulation has become an effective means to enhance grid frequency security.Addressing the challenge of improving the frequency regulation performance of a thermal-storage primary frequency regulation system while reducing its associated losses, this paper proposes a multi-dimensional cooperative optimization strategy for the control parameters of a combined thermal-storage system, considering regulation losses.First, the frequency regulation losses of various components within the thermal power unit are quantified, and a calculation method for energy storage regulation loss is proposed, based on Depth of Discharge(DOD)and C-rate.Second,a thermal-storage cooperative control method based on series compensation is developed to improve the system’s frequency regulation performance.Third, targeting system regulation loss cost and regulation output, and considering constraints on output overshoot and system parameters,an improved Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)algorithm is employed to tune the parameters of the low-pass filter and the series compensator, thereby reducing regulation losses while enhancing performance. Finally, simulation results demonstrate that the total loss cost of the proposed control strategy is comparable to that of a system with only thermal power participation. However, the thermal power loss cost is reduced by 42.16%compared to the thermal-only case, while simultaneously improving system frequency stability. Thus, the proposed strategy effectively balances system frequency stability and economic efficiency.

文摘Novel applications of nanotechnology may lead to the release of engineered nanoparticles(ENPs), which result in concerns over their potential environmental hazardous impact. The principles of the electrostatic interactions between hard(and soft) acids and bases(HSAB) are used to explain such behaviours; the hard base coating(i.e. citrate ions) will interact more strongly with hard acid(i.e. magnetite) than soft acid(i.e. gold). The results indicate that NTA is a complementary method to existing approaches to characterise the fate and behaviour of ENPs in natural sediment.

文摘Land consolidation engineering is one of the very important ways to improve the quality of farmland and the level of agricultural productivity. Overall, an integrated land optimization configuration with improved and optimized crop variety selection was suggested for engineering sandy land-oriented consolidation from the soil particles to the agricultural system.

文摘In order to deal with the disadvantages of excessive grinding and non-uniformity in finished particle under high-pressure grinding rolls (HPGR) finished grinding system, four aspects were investigated, including evaluating indicators, effects of operating factors, effect of particle uniformity on the flotation and formation mechanism of particle uniformity. The operating factors which promote the shielding effect and compact effect in the HPGR finished grinding system should be strengthened based on the uniformity of particles.
文摘Mechanlcal properties of epoxy resin were investigated by adding core-shell elastic particles (CSEP). It also was found that the deforming temperature (DT) of modified epoxy did not decline apparently.

文摘The effectiveness of rock bolting in ground control has been extensively investigated, mainly for resin based systems.Alternative coupling materials are needed to have good mechanical performance and to reduce the economic impact. This study proposed a new bolting system exploiting steel particles as coupling material. The applicability of this system was assessed by laboratory and field pullout tests, assisted by digital imaging correlation(DIC),infrared thermography(IRT)and acoustic emission(AE).The results indicated that, for a 20 mm diameter bolt, the suitable steel particle size and corresponding inner diameter of borehole were 1.4 and 28 mm,respectively. For bolts installed in steel tubes, the particles improved the loading capacity compared to the resin bonded ones.Additional pullout tests on cement blocks indicated that steel particles can be effective for hard rock, whilst resin was a better choice for bolting of soft rock.Similar understanding was obtained by pullout tests in engineering fields, which demonstrated that the steel particles coupled bolts can provide favorable effects in hard rock mass, while the effects were negligible when installed in extremely soft coal mass. The wide set of multi-technique measurements helped to understand the mechanisms involved in the performance of the bolting system with coupling steel particles.
文摘The feeding of coarse particles (>0.5 mm diameter) directly into a riser operating at positive pressure is important for drying and pre-heating applications. Simulation of the fluid dynamics in the riser showed that solids clusters were formed at low concentrations near the feeding device, reflecting heterogeneity in the solid phase volume fraction.
